ThinkPad Yoga - Keyboard key stucks - how to remove it correctly

Hi everybody,
this is maybe a simple and stupid question but I won't do anything wrong.
One of my keyboard keys does not work correctly, I think there is something under the key which is blocking because when I press the key I feel a stronger resistance than on the other keys. Sometimes I need to press the key 3 or 4 times before the letter is written - realy annoying
Obviously I should remove the key and clean it or remove whatever is under the key. Since my ThinkPad Yoga is quite new I don't want to damage it or lose my warrenty through "learning by doing"...
So can anybody tell me how to remove a key from the ThinkPad Yoga keyboard correctly and reassemble it correctly as well? -> without any damage
Reagards,
Ben

Thanks for the link, but don't you think there is a possibility to remove a single key and not the whole keyboard?
I found this video for "ThinkPad keyboards" - however, like you mentioned the lift and lock keyboard is probably a special case.
Does anyone know if the method from the video works for the TP Yoga also?

  • Drops of sweat on Keyboard Thinkpad Yoga Keyboard

Hey guys, after some excersize, I got on my laptop and had  a few drops of sweat land on the keyboard and trackpad.
I turned the laptop off shortly after, this was 6:30pm yesterday and now at 7:00 am some of the keys are still acting wonky.
I gotta say I am very worried as this is my school laptop. At the same time I thought the Thinkpad Yoga keyboard was spill resistant.
What can I do to remedy this situation. Again I didn't even spill anything. Just had some drops of sweat on the keyboard

  • ThinkPad T540p Control key stuck

The control key of my ThinkPad T540p often got stuck. It is not physically stuck, but the computer often thinks it is pressed down. This happens from time to time, which is very annoying. When it happens, if I press Ctrl again, then everything is back to OK again.
I noticed that this problem seems to be pretty common in Lenovo computers. If you google search "Lenovo Control key stuck", you can find lots of similar reports!
Does anyone have any idea on how to solve it? Thanks!

    Hi Nauhiuc,

  • New Thinkpad Yoga 12.5" cover got hardly removable stain

I just bought thinkpad yoga a few days ago. I found out that there is either scratch or oil mark stick on the screen cover.
I was using my computer when eating burger, maybe I got oil stain on top of it, but I couldn't manage to remove it. I have already use soap and rub it with some pressure, but it still stay as it is.
I know this is quite minor issue to you all, but it's quite annoying to got this issue when I bought just a few days ago.
Below is the picture about the stain. See the glossy mark on the cover.
Please let me know if anybody of you have solved this issues.
    Thank you,
    Raymond S

  • Thinkpad Yoga and UP710E stylus, how do you make them work together?

So my work just got me a Thinkpad Yoga as per my request
I have confirmed that in the Device Manager I do see: "HID-compliant touch screen"
I have also gone out on my own and purchased the UP710E wacom stylus, as suggested at various points on this board and on other sites, as something that should work with the Yoga
I've also purchased Manga Studios as an art program that is supported on this device (it seems to run fine) and with the pen.
I turned on Manga Studios (and MSPaint for good measure), pressed pen to screen and... nothing.  Eraser to screen.. nothing.  Mouse?  Works fine.  Stylus that everything and everyone indicated should work?  Nope.
So.... what am I missing?  Is there a driver I should be looking at?  Everything should be up to date.. some in-between program I need to install?  Try this when the wind is blowing south by southwest?
    Help please?

Here's how the support site describes your MTM:

I'll defer to others who might know definitively, but it's my understanding that the 1366x768 LCDs are not Wacom digitizer-equipped, whereas the FHD panels are. That would be one possibility for what you're seeing.

  • C#: How to convert Keyboard.key (Unicode char as number) into correct char?

    Our application uses barcode scanner.
when scanning a barcode and convert Keyboard.key (as ushort with value 16, it represents char ':') by using
    1)(char)(Keyboard.key)
    2) or Convert.ToChar(Keyboard.key),
both way convert into symbol '+'.
    How to convert into ':'?
What is a correct way to convert Keyboard.key as ushort into correct char? Thx!
    JaneC

    Hi Dan Nemec,
It is normal '+'. It is special '+' symbol.
We search a little bit and find out Unicode ':' is 3A and value is not 16.
So during the process barcode scanner, the value has been changed in some way.
We are trying to find out where the value has been changed.

  • IPhone 4 keyboard keys stuck in Caps, lower case works and all functionality.

I just noticed today that my keyboard keys are stuck in the CAPS mode. When the shift key is off, it does input as lower case letters but the keyboard still shows the letters as upper case? Has anyone had this issue?
My iPhone 4 iOS is up to date and this just happened all of a sudden. Its more annoying more than anything.
    Cheers.

The letters on the keyboard always show as capitals.  No issue exists.

  • One Key Recovery - How to remove Backup image

Hi, I am using Z500 and did 2 backup to D drive using OKR. However, I realise my second backup is almost double the size of my backup (or image file). Probably because of OKR including my first backup in the 2nd backup and I name the file with different name.
My question is how and can I safely remove my first backup to free up disk space? I am able to loacte the backup files under a folder.
Hope someone can advise me. Thanks.

One of the other reason for doing a backup is that I am planning to upgrade from Win 8 to Win 8.1.
By the way, I read 2 conflicting article.... one say Ideapad Z500 is cleared for upgrade to Win 8.1... while another say Ideapad preloaded hardware & config is not compatible with Win 8.1....
Hope someone on advise on this too? Is Ideapad Z500 cleared for upgrade from Win 8 to 8.1?

  • ThinkPad Yoga F keys

    Any help appreciated.
I'm trying to get my F keys to act in a 'legacy' fashion so I don't need to hit the "Fn" key to get the "F Keys" to work as ordinary F keys.
Tried the Advanced Startup BIOS. Didn't provide me the option there?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Danny,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
The option of changing the function keys back to legacy is no longer available in the BIOS in most of the new ThinkPad models. You may try the Fn+esc combination that locks it, but when the computer reboots, this resets back to a default mode and you have to use Fn+esc again.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

  • Leopard DVD stuck, how to remove?

I just purchased a family-version of Leopard and wanted to install it on a Mac Mini that I gave my son. He wanted a "new" computer so I used the Leopard DVD utilies to erase and reformat the hard drive. Then I wanted to install Leopard, but it first goes through a lengthy routine to check the DVD. Well, it found out that the DVD appears to have a problem and Leopard can not be installed. This is weird already, because the DVD went straight out of the box into the DVD-slot almost without touching it. It tells me to carefully clean the DVD and try it again. However, since it is the start-up disk, and there is no other disk to start from, I can not eject it. What do I do? One thing, I am not going to take it apart.

Well, problem solved. I turned the mini upside down (with a Mini you can do that), gently shook it a little and tried it one more time. Surprise: No error, and Leopard is installing as we speak. Perhaps a spec of dust somewhere on the DVD? Next, I want to use the same (family-pack) DVD to install Leopard on my MacBook. Or should I wait for 10.5.2?

  • Found English Keyboard and English Apple Keyboard And How to remove apple keyboard language

I have found 2 english language keyboard It occur in Windows 8 pro
    one is united stated(Apple)keyboard
    and one is US Keyboard
Sometime it show up when i change the language
question 1:What is difference between US(Apple)Keyboard and US Keyboard
    question 2:How to remove US(Apple)Keyboard?
question 3:Does it have affect when i remove US(apple)Keyboard?
question 4:How it appear on iMac windows 8?

If you are using a keyboard made by Apple, then you should normally choose US(Apple) keyboard to make sure that all the characters are typed the way they appear on the keys.  If for some reason you are using a Windows keyboard, then you should normally use US instead of US(Apple).
The two versions exist because there can be differences between Apple and other keyboards.
It is not a good idea to "remove" anything.  For info on how to deactivate a keyboard in a Windows system, you need to consult the Help for that system or ask in a Windows forum.

  • How can I stop the Thinkpad Yoga 14 from disabling the touchpad and keyboard?

My dad got a Thinkpad Yoga 14 about a month ago and he usually uses his laptop at a 90 degree angle in bed. So when he is on his side, the laptop is on it's side as well. When he does that with the Thinkpad Yoga, the touchpad and the keyboard are disabled and he cannot use the laptop like he wants to. I think because it's a setting to not accidentally touch the keyboard or mouse when using it in tablet mode.
I cannot find any setting on how to stop Windows from disabling the touchpad and keyboard on rotate. I've turned off auto-rotate but can't see anything else. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • How to remove keys from the keyboard on macbook pro 2011

I wonder how i remove the keys on macbook pro 2011 model?

    Hi x,
Here are some links. None of them show your exact model, but keys have been the same/very similar for some time now. You may even want to google and check youtube to see if newer guides are available. If it's just a few keys, the "genius" bar at an Apple Store would probably help you with it.

  • Key Stuck - *EVEN WHEN NO KEYBOARD CONNECTED*

    Hello
The up cursor on the keyboard is stuck on.
But it stays stuck even when no keyboard is connected at all.
i.e. if you use the mouse to open a menu, the options will highlight from the bottom up.
If you type a document the cursor will keep flying back to the top.
It's impossible to enter any passwords as the invisible keystrokes of the up cursor seem to make it invalid.
It's exactly if something was resting on the keyboard.
I"ve tried different keyboards, including a BlueTooth one, so that rules out the connections.
And As I say it persists even when the keyboard and mouse are entirely disconnected.
It is still on when I startup from a bootable CD.
It feels as if some sort of hardware problem has occurred...
I've tried resetting the PRAM but as the keyboard doesn't function correctly, I can't use the startup shortcut.
I've unplugged mains power and removed the battery and pressed the PMU reset button, but to no avail.
I've started up from an OSX Leopard disk, but the problem persists.
This is driving me crazy, any ideas?

yes, I've tried with 2 different mice, and with no mouse connected.
Even restarted from an install CD with no keyboard or mouse connected at all, cursor is still jumping upwards, and the repeating chime that you get when the keyboard buffer is full (like when you acidentally rest something on a key) is constantly sounding.
It feels to me as if there is some false signal getting to the keyboard buffer that the computer is interpreting as a constant up arrow key press.
Any ideas? Is there a part of the internals of the computer that I should check hasn't come loose in some way, triggering this false key input?
The problem happened after I moved the computer from one part of the office to another.

  • Thinkpad Yoga 14: How to know whether the model had separate trackpad buttons or not

So Lenovo has released the 2015 version of the Thinkpad Yoga 14. In the online manual it says that some models do and others don't have separate trackpad buttons. How do you know whether the specific models offers do or don't?
The images in Lenovo's online store show the Thinkpad Yoga 14 without the separate buttons...

    1. Delete all applications you got from the Mac App Store. Also delete any pirated copies of App Store products that you may have installed.
    2. Rebuild the Spotlight index as follows:
    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Spotlight ▹ Privacy
The list of items excluded from Spotlight indexing is shown (it may be empty.) Click the plus (“+”) icon to add an item to the list. Select your volume (under DEVICES) and add it to the list. Then remove it from the list by selecting it and clicking the minus (“-“) icon.
Spotlight will rebuild the index. If you try to do a Spotlight search now from the magnifying-glass icon in the top right corner of the display, a pulsing dot will appear in the icon. When the dot disappears, the indexing is complete.
    3. Check that the Apple ID associated with your account in the Users & Groups preference pane is correct.
    4. Reinstall the applications you deleted by downloading them from the App Store.
