ThinkStation D10 and processors problem
Hello,
Can you please help us with this problem ?
Our partner bought a second CPU for the D10, option PN 43R2011. He installed the CPU and now the system stops
with error code "Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause"
He wants to open call, but hotline declined that because the CPU is not a CRU (customer replacement unit).
What can we do now, who can give us tha approval to change the CPUs? or when can be problem with these processors ?

Go to Solution.
customer service is correct -- processors aren't considered CRUs and aren't allowed to be replaced by the end user. ones installed by the user aren't covered by warranty and technical support won't answer questions about non-original processors.
with that said, your processors need to match. your original processor has a C0 stepping and the new one has an E0 stepping. this will cause problems. the only solution is to find a second processor with the same stepping.
the exact same problem happened to a user in the following thread:

Thank You... -
I have an iMac 27" with 2.8 GHz Intel Core 17. 4 GB RAM. It's running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.
Last week I had the computer's hard drive replaced after the old one had gone bad. All the data was transferred fine to the new hard drive.
Since then my CS5 Photoshop comes up with this error message at each launch attempt:
"An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred. Photoshop will now exit."
I took the computer back to the repair shop. They said they got CS5 Photoshop working on my computer so I brought it home and -- this is totally inexplicable -- I STILL get the error message.
Subsequently I've trashed CS5 Photoshop and reinstalled from the original Adobe Design Premium CS5 suite .dmg but I continue to get the same message. I've also trashed the preferences several times and the message still occurs. Creating a new user account for my computer and trying to open CS5 Photoshop there didn't help. I had no problems with fonts and Photoshop CS5 before the hard drive was changed.
I have no idea what else to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It depends on how the program was transfered. If direct file copy it probably will not work, as all the files are not in one directory. It is usually safest to reinstall from a disk or download. You might want to unistall the programs and run Adobe Script Cleaner and then reinstall. -
Please help anyone who can.
Firstly I know I have very little RAM on my system, only 4GB but I've been rendering the same kinds of files for weeks with no problems until the last few days.
They biggest issues is as follows:
My timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014 has 1080p 50mbps MXF footage from a Sony PMW 200 and some similar footage replaced with an After Effects comp for green screen keying.
The clip, approx 2min, starts with a linked comp from after effects, then cuts to the mxf footage and back to a linked comp at the end.
I am exporting via media encoder to h264 1080p. The file rendered fine for about 40min with the processor at 50% approx. The processor then shot up to 99% for 10 mins and the render progress bar
went up to almost 90% complete.
Then the progress bar stopped, the processor dropped to 0%, time remaining is steadily climbing and so is time elapsed. I've tried pausing and un pausing the render que and nothing else is running in background.
I need these files rendered tonight!! I've tried this a few times and this problem keeps occurring sometimes with the remaining time shooting up to 74 hours!!
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?!
Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
Dell Precision workstation 690
Intel xeon X5365 3ghz (x2)
4 GB RAMSounds exactly like what is happening to me. This is frustrating because it was a 30 hour encoding process and the place where it is stuck is right at the very end of the sequence on the 2nd pass, although there is still about 12% of the progress bar remaining. I guess that this is where it takes all its work and puts the separate files into the single video file. I really don't want to go through this again. The final video file is showing up though and is shown having the size that I am expecting it to be.
Any workarounds to somehow get this unstuck? I am hesitant to just try and open the file. I am going to try a couple of things and if I am successful at getting this to finish without restarting then I will be sure to post it here.
Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem, but I looked at my system Activity Monitor, and there is a CPU process highlighted in red, it states:
Adobe QT32 Server (not responding)
Thirty minutes later...
I was incorrect above as to the actual problem. I paused the queue encoding that was stuck, then opened up the project again in Premiere Pro only to discover that there was an offline still image which I stupidly had renamed during the day. So I renamed the file back to its original name, reconnected the picture, saved the PP project. Then I started the encoding back up and still no luck.
So I paused the encoding again, went back into the PP project and rendered just the area under question, saved it, and exported it into the queue. Then just to be safe I went to the paused item in AME, and duplicated it adding another version into the queue.
Then I unpaused the encoding and ... SUCCESS!! Not sure which of the final steps did the trick, but I am guessing that it was the rendering of the part of the sequence that it was stuck on. Hope this helps someone. -
I am using Xcode 5 on Mac Book with configuration Memory 5 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Do other updates show up there (realizing that Lion is not getting all the updates anymore as it is no longer being supported).

What is this process and why does it eat up all my hard drive space, memory and processor every time external display is connected? If I have the display connected for long enough, it could easily eat up 60-70 gigs of my hard drive.
Somehow we need to identify what this "unar" process is.
Are you sure that this UnrarX is not in your login items ?? (the things to be automatically started at login)
Perhaps removing any login startup items would help in isolating the problem
As far as I find out, there's no easy way.
There is the source of simple program that will tell you the path to a process from it PID. That's certainly not very elegant but you can find it here.
Looking at your screen shot it would appear (just looking at the indentation) that the "unar" processes are not running as a sub-process of some other process like launchd, sh, Terminal, or something else.
If that's not the case then a important piece of information would be the parent process.
In the screenshot of a fragment of Activity Monitor below, bash is a sub process of login which is a sub process of Terminal. This structure only shows up if you sleected "all Processes, Hierarchically"
It would be useful to look at all the views of processes available in Activity Monitor.
By identifying in which views it shows up we can learn if it is a:
System process
one of My processes
other User Process
Windowed process
etc
This will help us in knowing where to look for "unar" and perhaps to figure out what it is, and why it keeps showing up -
With Lion and now Mountain Lion, I am experiencing frequent "freezes" with my Early 2008 Mac Pro. While I have been uable to determine a cause the associated effect is that some action starts the beachball spinning. When this happen I watch processor load and it dips to 0 or 1% and remains at that level, Virtually all GUI process fail to operate -- the dock won't launch, bring up contextual menus etc, I can't launch the force quit dialog, essentially nothing will work. I have occasionally experienced kernel panics where processor use spikes but with these "freezes" the processors seem to become inactive or "go to sleep" .
The only option is to turn off the machine with the power switch, and then reboot. It is very annoying because it can happen as much as once an hour
I have run virus scans and found nothing. The apps I use most frequently are Safari, Pathfinder, Launchbar, Filemaker, iTunes and Mail.
Are others having similar problems. An OS-X issue or might this be a local hardware (processor) problem.
Any ideas on how to analyze this issue further are appreciated.You could try the usual procedures like resetting pram and smc
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
and verify disk + repair permissions in Disk Utility.
May or may not work.
Your anti-virus software may also be the offender. -
ThinkStation D10 memory
Hello to all community forums.
I am thinking in buying this memory modules for the D10. Samsung (M395T5750GZ4) DDR2-667 4GB ECC/FB-DIMM
Are theese modules compatibles? I think so, but its the first time I will open the thinkstation to upgrade and I´d want to be sure before buy.
Thank you very much
Solved!
Go to Solution.depending on where you find them, one 4GB module can be cheaper than two 2GB. but, if all you want to add is 4GB total then you'll have to get 2 x 2GB.

Leopard and processor/NAP/CHUD settings/m-audio 410
I've got a G5 DP with the infamous white noise problem coming through my speakers that was only fixed after downloading the chud tools and disabling the NAP settings - does anyone know if I'll have the same issues if I install Leopard? Want to upgrade but don't want to waste my money if the noise comes back and I can't get it to work. Also, I'm using an m-audio firewire 410 that doesn't have drivers yet; has anyone used the Tiger drivers with success on Leopard? Hoping that Leopard will fix intermittent problems; system locking up, etc., that have plauged me for years...
Thanks!This sounds perfect. I'm on a pretty chirpy G5! However, this going to sound really silly but where can I find the pref pane you mentioned. I've looked for the path you gave and I don't have a /developer directory. I've looked on my Leopard install disk and I can't see it there either. I then looked in the optional installs on the Leopard disk for something that might make sense...but sorry nothing looked right. I've also used spotlight to search for lots of things like 'developer' and 'Processor.prePane' but no luck.
Any help would be great - sorry to be such a noob!
Cheers,

I have a mid 2010 white macbook, it become slow after I upgraded it to Mavericks. I would like to know if I reinstall the original OS it will be a bit faster or should I restore the original OS AND upgrade the ram and processor? If I go with the latter, on the Apple website it gives me this ram: PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz. I've researched many brands on Amazon and some people cite problems after installing various brands. Can someone advice me toward a good ram and processor that wont cause any problems? Much appreciated!
Check the link below for highly recommended RAM.

The CPU can not be upgraded. -
i have 10.5.8 and i'd like to update to Lion but I haven't the app store avaiable to my sistem and I can find the atualization. At the software update doesn't have any atualization... I updated my iphone4 to IOS5 and having problems to use ICloud
As Retired Engineer indicated, you will need to install Snow Leopard first. After you install Snow Leopard, you need to go into Software Update and perform the updates. 10.6.6 will install the App Store. You should continue to update to 10.6.8 before purchasing and installing Lion from the App Store.
Be sure your machine meets the minimum requirements. Basically, any Mac with a Core 2 Duo processor or later and at least 2GB of RAM (but 4 is highly recommended). If you have a first generation MacBook Pro with a Core Duo, you will not be able to upgrade to Lion. -
Upgrading Graphics Card and Processor
I'm wanting to upgrade my graphics card and processor. Now I don't play many games, but I would like to max out LOTRO and maybe some games on steam like portal/doom3/etc...
My motherboard is an
Manufacturer: Foxconn H-RS880-uATX
HP: Aloe-GL8E
I've already decided I'm upgrading my processor to the Phenom II X4-830. Right now I have the AMD Athlong dual core 3.0ghz.
And I'm upgrading my RAM from 4GB to 8GB this week.
The only thing I'm having a hard time finding is what the best graphics card I can get for my motherboard. I've checked all the FPS benchmarks for the ones HP recommends, but they don't seem better than what I have now which is the ATI Radeon HD 5450 512MB.Welcome to the HP Forum!

Please identify your HP desktop with its product name. Is it a Pavilion p6230y desktop?
In the HD 5000 series the 5750 is definitely better than a HD5450.
The HD6850 would definitely do the trick, but you would also have to upgrade your PSU to something beefier.
The Phenom II X4-830 will have to be a Deneb core for it to work with your motherboard.
If your operating system is a 64-bit one then upgrading RAM to 8GB will be worthwhile.
If the OS is 32-bit then you will be wasting your hard-earned money since the OS was designed to use only @3.25 GB of RAM.
Kind regards,
erico

Question
I am not able to launch FF everytime i try to open it, it says FF has to submit a crash report,and restore yr tabs. I even tried doing that and the report was submitted too, but still FF did not start, and the problem still persists, please help me solve this issue
'''(in English)'''Hi Danny,
Per my understanding that you can't get the expect result by using the expression "=Count(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4) " to count the the TICKET_STATUS which value is 4, the result will returns the count of all the TICKET_STATUS values(206)
but not 180, right?
I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, the issue caused by you are using the count() function in the incorrect way, please modify the expression as below and have a test:
=COUNT(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS.Value=4 ,1,Nothing))
or
=SUM(IIF(Fields!TICKET_STATUS=4,1,0))
If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

BOSD, Battery issues and Heating problem after iOS 8 upgrade
i have upgraded my iPad mini to iOS 8. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 8 am facing blue screen issues and heating problem as well. This is really frustrating even the patch iOS 8.0.2 dint solve the problem. Are you guys listening our complaints. When will you fixing it.
The same thing happened to me on my 2012 Subaru Outback. I'm not sure this will help you since you have a Honda, but I'm posting this just in case.
I paired the audio on my car with my iPhone 6. However, when I turned the car off and back on again, the iPhone would not pair automatically. I had to manually connect the iPhone with the car. Turns out there are two separate bluetooth pairings on my car: one for phone which allows up to 5 devices and one for audio which allows only one device. So I did the second bluetooth pairing for the phone (had already done the audio), and that fixed it. YMMV -

fA = random() * bA;
fH = random() * bD;
done = rint(fH - fA);
System.out.println("You hit" +done);
}Here is the main code that writes what the objects do:
class fight {
public static void main(String[] args) {
self instance1 = new self();
rockCrab instance2 = new rockCrab();
instance2.health = instance2.health - instance1.done;
System.out.println("You hit: " +instance1.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance2.health);
instance1.health = instance1.health - instance2.done;
System.out.println("RockCrab hit: " +instance2.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance1.health);
instance2.health = instance2.health - instance1.done;
System.out.println("You hit: " +instance1.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance2.health);
instance1.health = instance1.health - instance2.done;
System.out.println("RockCrab hit: " +instance2.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance1.health);
instance2.health = instance2.health - instance1.done;
System.out.println("You hit: " +instance1.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance2.health);
instance1.health = instance1.health - instance2.done;
System.out.println("RockCrab hit: " +instance2.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance1.health);
instance2.health = instance2.health - instance1.done;
System.out.println("You hit: " +instance1.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance2.health);
instance1.health = instance1.health - instance2.done;
System.out.println("RockCrab hit: " +instance2.done);
System.out.println("rockCrabs health: " + instance1.health);
}when the code is run it says something like this:
you hit 1
RockCrabs health is 9
RockCrab hit 7
your health is 38
you hit 1
RockCrabs health is 8
RockCrab hit 7
your health is 31
you hit 1
RockCrabs health is 7
RockCrab hit 7
your health is 24
you hit 1
RockCrabs health is 6
RockCrab hit 7
your health is 17
my point is whatever some one hits it always repeats that
my expected output would have to be something like
you hit 1
RockCrabs health is 9
RockCrab hit 9
your health is 37
you hit 3
RockCrabs health is 6
RockCrab hit 4
your health is 33
you hit 2
RockCrabs health is 4
RockCrab hit 7
your health is 26
you hit 3
RockCrabs health is 1
RockCrab hit 6
your health is 20
