ThinkVantage Toolbox failed to start when Tawian Calendar is enabled.

ThinkVantage Toolbox failed to start (crashed initially) when Tawian Calendar is enabled.
Tawian Calendar (also ROC Calendar) could only be available on the Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) Windows.
I have met this problem on Windows 7 x64 (Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)) on both T61 and T520.

hey ShikiSuen,
i'm guessing that ThinkVantage Toolbox can launch IF the Taiwan Calender is disabled ?
curious to know, which version of TVT are you using ?

  • On Windows 7 Enterprise OS, Firefox failed to start when upgrading to any higher versions after 6.0.2

    Hi
    Please can you help me with this?
    Currently I am running Firefox version 6.0.2 on my Windows 7 Enterprise OS Desktop.
    When I try to update Firefox, installations completes successfully. However when trying to launch Firefox, browser window is not opened. It was showing a 'Firefox failed to start' error message for versions before 11. For the latest version i.e 11, no error messages are displayed. When trying to launch application, no browser window is opened, but I can see Firefox process running in Task Manager. I tried to do a clean install by removing all add-ins and also deleting Firefox folder under program files. It did not solve the problem.
    Thanks
    Chandra

    Ok, well let's try going straight to what the problem probably is, a corrupted profile.
    Can you please read [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles], and create a new testing profile? Start Firefox 6 up using the new profile, then close it. After you've done that, upgrade to Firefox 11, and try starting, again using the new profile. If everything works, then you just had a corrupted profile, and you can read [[Recovering important data from an old profile|Recovering important data from an old profile]], which explains how to transfer your data from your old one to your new profile.
    Let me know if this helps!

  • Weblogic admin console fails to start when commons logging is used.

    I have an application that requires commons logging.
    I followed the instructions as per the documentation and other forum entries such as How to use log4j into weblogic 10.3 to add the commons logging jar from apache and the weblogic jar specified. Plus I set the system property for the LogFactory.
    When I start up the application server I see messages as expected from my application. But when I start up the weblogic Admin console I get and exception and the console fails to start. I even tried to put the jars in my applicaiton instead of the domain/lib directory to try to iscolate the issue but still got issues with starting the Console.
    Any ideas on why this is occuring?

    Thank you for replying. Yes that is the first place we looked and tried. Actually to be more specific we followed the instrcutions under: "How to Use the Commons API with WebLogic Logging Services" of the same link.
    Are you thinking that maybe we are we missing a step somewhere else within the site?
    Not sure if I was clear before but we are using Weblogic 10.3 and also tried up to version 10.3.3. And we get the same results.
    We prefer to use the method with commons logging for our application.
    One more specific here what we did on our last attempt.
    1. added this to the startWeblogic script JAVAOPTIONS -Dorg.apache.commons.logging.LogFactory=weblogic.logging.commons.LogFactoryImpl
    2. we put the WebLogic-specific Commons classes, $BEA_HOME/modules/com.bea.core.weblogic.commons.logging_1.3.0.0.jar, together with the commons-logging.jar file in one of the following locations: APP-INF/LIB or WEB-INF/LIB directory or DOMAIN_NAME/LIB directory server CLASSPATH
    We are still not able to get the Weblogic admin console to start
    Any other ideas?

  • Out of the box workflow failed on start when started programatically

    I have an approval workflow (out of the box) associated with a list and need to start it for some items programmatically when some conditions are met.
    My application runs under an account which is a farm admin. I do have another user dedicated to start workflows. I'm using the code below but it always results in a 'failed on start'  with these errors
    2/27/2015 4:54 PM
    Workflow Cancelled
    System
    Account
    Workflow 'WorkflowName' was canceled by System Account.
    2/27/2015 4:54 PM
    Error
    System
    Account
    'WorkflowName' failed to start.
    Code is :
    SPUserToken userToken = null;
                using (SPSite site = new SPSite("SiteName"))
                    using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
                        site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                        web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                        userToken = web.AllUsers["WorkflowAccount"].UserToken;
        site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
                        web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
                using (SPSite site = new SPSite("SiteName", userToken))
                    using (SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb())
                        site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                        web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = true;
                        SPWorkflowManager workflowManager = web.Site.WorkflowManager;
                        SPList list = web.Lists["LibName"];
                        SPListItem item = list.Items[1];
                        SPWorkflowAssociationCollection associationCollection = list.WorkflowAssociations;
                        foreach (SPWorkflowAssociation association in associationCollection)
                            if (association.Name == "WorkflowName")
                                association.AutoStartChange = true;
                                association.AutoStartCreate = false;
                                association.AssociationData = string.Empty;
                        site.WorkflowManager.StartWorkflow(item, association, association.AssociationData);
        break;
    site.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
                            web.AllowUnsafeUpdates = false;
    Is there any requirement on who can create the workflow? I can control who creates if I absolutely have to
    Any help/clues/directions appreciated.

    Hi LNFei,
    To troubleshooting the issue, I recommend to follow the steps as below:
    1.Start the workflow manually to check whether it works.
    2.Use another account not System Account to check whether it works.
    3.Publish the workflow as a different user (rather than System Account).
    4.Deactivate and Reactive the “Workflow” Feature.
    5.Check other workflows on other lists/libraries could work well.
    6.Create a simple workflow having only one activity which will log history only, check if it works well.
    Best Regards,
    Wendy

  • CSACS servcies fail to start when using domain user account

    I have installed CSACS 3.3 on a member server in a Windows 2003 domain. The member server is running Server 2003, too.
    I created a user account in Active Directory and configured the CSACS services to log on as this account. Through Group Policy I granted the user the "log on as a service" and "act as part of the operating system" privileges per the Installation Guide for Cisco Secure ACS for Windows. I verefied that the policy has taken affect on the CSACS server.
    The CSACS services fail to start as this user account. The error messages are non-specific. If I add the user to the local administrators group the services start just fine.
    Anybody know what I might be missing?
    Thanks in advance.
    Colin

    Did you ever figure this out? I'm running into the exact same problem. Same version of ACS and everthing. CSLog is the only service that started.

  • Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox will not start

    I was prompted to download and install this software, when I try to run it I get a window pop-up that says:
    License Authentication Failed
    This version of Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox is not licensed to run on this system.
    And the program closes.
    I have a Thinkpad T61p 6459CTO with Windows XP SP3
    Please help!

    Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox relies on information in the system BIOS. Has your system board been replaced or have you recently updated the BIOS? You should be able to confirm that the BIOS contains your machine type model number (6459CTO):
    1. Press F1 during POST
    2. Look at the System-unit serial number, about halfway down the screen
    3. The first 7 characters should be 6459CTO
    If the information is is correct, there is one other possibility. We have seen this issue occur on a couple systems when the hard drive is nearly (99%) full.

  • ThinkVantage Toolbox works but crashes when clicking on "settings"

    Hi.
    I have just changed my HDD, from a SG Momentus 500GB to the same but 750 GB. Computer's a ThinkPad T410, OS is W7 Ultimate 64bit.
    With the previous disk I never experienced any issues with ToolBox, while with this one everything works, but when I click on "Settings" the program crashes. I tried uninstall/reinstall, but same result.
    Even though I read of issues with Seagate disks, I don't think it's disk-related since with the previous disk I had no issues, and since everything else, including tests on disk, works.
    Any idea?
    thanks

    UPDATE:
    LTT latest version 6.0.5849.23 works fine on my X200T and T410 - no crashes whatsoever.
    However, my X301 always had the crash issue . Planning to do uninstall and registry clean-up later and see what happens.

  • E17 fails to start when not run as root

    Greetings
    I'm a relatively new user to Arch Linux, although I've been running it on my laptop for some time and enjoyed it. Long story short, these days I decided to put it as a main OS on my desktop machine. Everything was OK, the system booted fine and the X server was working lovely, until I decided to put in E17 (from the days of OpenGEU, that's still my favourite WM). The problem is, if I start it from the root acc, it starts without problems and works out-of-the-box. But when I start it with a normal account, it starts the X server and then dies (yeah, great, so close...).
    The first thing that came to mind was file permissions, but anything I managed to find in the enlightenment folders was world readable. I tried starting it with the SLiM manager instead of startx (.xinitrc's on both accounts contain only "exec enlightenment_start"), copied the root's .e folder in the user' one, even tried "xinit /usr/bin/enlightenment" - nothing of these worked.
    Log of the root starting session: http://pastebin.com/JK6gmyui
    Log of the user starting session: http://pastebin.com/G3ru1aCR
    When I read the logs, my first thought was the system was hanging because of the e_randr error, but it exists in the root logs too, so this couldn't be the problem. Apparently something's screwing up on e_ipc loading, but I've absolutely no clue why.
    I'll be really, really grateful to anyone who has the patience to try and help me get to the bottom of this, since I don't like the perspective of making the root account my every day acc only because of E17.
    Thanks in advance (:

    I'm not a guru (I was hoping one would have stepped in by now!) so I can't suggest much beyond the usual recommendations:
    Have a look through /var/log/messages - I get a few lines like
    Sep 21 07:45:34 localhost dbus[718]: [system] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit' (using servicehelper)
    Sep 21 07:45:34 localhost dbus[718]: [system] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1' (using servicehelper)
    Sep 21 07:45:34 localhost polkitd[949]: started daemon version 0.105 using authority implementation `local' version `0.105'
    Sep 21 07:45:34 localhost dbus[718]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.freedesktop.PolicyKit1'
    Sep 21 07:45:34 localhost dbus[718]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.freedesktop.ConsoleKit'
    that seem to indicate things are happy.
    You've already posted your /var/log/Xorg.0.log - the only thing that caught my eye there was the vesa module load failure, but I'm assuming that is okay since the intel module was loaded later.
    Also have a look through the output of dmesg - mine doesn't show anything of interest, but I'm not having the trouble.
    Unfortunately, that's about as far as I can go. To be honest, all this *Kit/dbus stuff baffles the heck out of me. I'm an old-timer, so I never saw the need to go any farther than the original Unix permission flags. Anyway, the fact that you can run it as root but not as a normal user really smells like a permission flag, group membership, or rule problem. I just don't know where better to point you.
    Mike
    BTW, the e-svn-arche17 packages I use pull in the very latest subversion level every time they are run and compiles it fresh, so they are always the bleeding-est edge stuff. Even if the packages themselves don't change very often, what they produce does. However, I doubt very much that this is the problem.
