Thinkvantage broken after applying all the updates
I had not run the Thinkvantage updates in a while (ok, ever) and was having problems with my T400 just shutting off without any warning and thought that the driver updates might help. However, after running all of the updates, none of the Thinkvantage tools seem to work. No fingerprint scanner, no wireless/network management, no presentation manager, etc. I don't even know where to start troubleshooting this. Any suggestions? Thanks!
How strange. maybe try downloaded the Thinkvantage Update utility and setting it up again? http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/TVSU-UPDATE.html
Have you looked in event manager to search for any potential errors? It'll be in control pannel under administrative tools.
I'm afraid I don't know much about Thinkvantage, my usual thing when it all crashes is to rebuild the macine and try again, but obviously thats alot of effort for most people, and there's no guarantee it'll work for you.

It sounds like you are trying to update some of your apps and when you tap the update button, the update does not happen. I recommend starting by closing the running apps on the phone:
iOS: Force an app to close

Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, sign out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes and App Stores, and restart the phone and try to update them again:

If the issue persists I would next verify that you can find it in your purchased history with ths article:
Tap App Store.
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
Tap Updates.
Tap Purchased on the resulting screen.
So that you can then delete the app and re install it:
Reinstall the affected app
Remove the app from your device and reinstall it:
Tap and hold any app icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle and show a small "x" in the top-left corner of the app.
Tap the "x" in the corner of the app you want to delete.
Tap Delete to remove the app and all of its data from your device.
Press the Home button.
Go to the App Store.
Search for the app and download it again.
Note: If it's a paid app, make sure you're using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it isn't, you may be asked to purchase the app again. Learn more about downloading previously purchased items.

after doing all the latest updates to both my iphone 4s and itunes the itunes store app on the iphone just dissapeared. Now i can't purchase any media. How can i get itunes store app back on my iphone?
If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes being set 'off' ?

I can't get to download the app store after all the updates. I have version 10.6.8 and there are no more available updates for my operating system.

After all the updates (itunes 10.6, iphone 5.1, and iphoto) all my photos are suddenly being synced with my iphone. Before I was able to pick the "last 12 months" or last import, or certain album. Now everything is greyed out?
After deleting files, there does not seem much improvement on the disk space.

I recovered from time machines's backup harddisk
Time Machine may be using the disk space - if you have Time Machine enabled and not the backup drive connected, TM will make local snapshots, if you have free disk space. See Pondini's webpage for more information: Time Machine - Questions 30. What are Local Snapshots?
I disable these local snapshots on my portable macs, to be sure, how much space really is free.

MacBook Pro with Retina 13" Late 2013 thunderbolt port broken after 10.9.4 update
One of Thunderbolt Port (near USB port) was broken after 10.9.4 update.
I usually use mini Display Port to Display Port cable to connect my external screen, it works fine before 10.9.4 update. After 10.9.4 update, I tried to connect the external screen with the same cable, and the main screen of my MacBook Pro with Retina Display twinkling once so I'm sure the external screen was identified, but no video signal output.
I went to local Apple Premium Reseller (there is no Apple Store in Taiwan) and the they told me all of Thunderbolt Port was fine, they test with their own 10.9.2 copy and it seems ok. After that, I tried to re-install 10.9.4, downloading directly from Apple, the system re-install progress was complete but the Thunderbolt Port issue still there.
I connect to the broken Thunderbolt Port with Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter, and it works fine, so I believe the only problem is that there is no video signal output from the Thunderbolt Port (near USB port one).
What should I do now?

Since 10.9.4 Update i'm experiencing random black screens and/or display going to energy saving mode. Today i've had this issue twice: Display going black and after disconnecting the macbook von all cables screen of the macbook remaining black. Holding Power Button for about 10 s restarts the macbook. After 5 minutes the same problem appeared again.

After I did the update it deleted my phone contacts trying to restore but itunes only has memory of last restore yesterday when update was done.smhh
Yes all contacts checked and getting pop up message that says "your contacts, calendars,& bookmarks are being synced with ICloud over the air, so it isn't necessary to synch these items using itunes. icloud sync can be configured using your devices mail, contacts & calendar settings".
I have that setting as referenced above and only contacts showing are the 9 contacts I renetered manually today after losing all 3oo contacts. I then restored my iphone back to orinail and still no contacts. Please help -
I have an iphone 6 plus and have completed all the updates. I have Uconnect on my vehicle and use have to have MAP in order for it to work. I have read you do not have to turn on MAP it automatically turns on with bluetooth. But it still does not work. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!!

I have a MacBook that had Mcafee on it and went to great lengths to get it off. Unfortunately after running all the remove scripts and support from mcafee, in my console it still shows com.apple.launchd{1} with message (com.mcafee.virusscan.VshieldEPointInterface[7881]) Exeted with exit code:1 Then the next line says will start in 10 seconds and it repeats endlessly.

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

Add new photo to existing calendar folder in iPhoto
I am making a calendar in iPhoto, picking photos from a folder, let's call it "2011 Pics," in iPhoto. After arranging all the photos and captions I decided I wanted to insert a new photo -- one that was not in "2011 Pics." So I inserted it into the folder, but the picture does not show up on the scrolling menu of pictures at the left of the calendar-making page. This happened last year and in frustration I started all over again. But surely there is a way to add a new picture to a calendar that is already laid out.Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think? -
I am having a heck of a time syncing my macbook pro with my iMac. I have all the updates and followed the instructions on apple.com, but there is no communication with either device nor an option that I find to sync them up. When I turn on photo stream on either device, it only selects a few, maybe 1,000 out of the nearly 10,000 photos I have. I try selecting all and then choosing photo stream but with no luck. I know there's a lot of you smart people out there who know what I'm doing wrong. Please help!!!

How do I restore the contacts in my IPhone? They dissappeared after I did the update.
After I did the update, my contacts comletely dissappeared and my email locked up. Any help would be appreciated. I contacted Apple, but they were not of much help. The Icloud was not of help either.
Do you have sync contacts with the Address Book on your Mac selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes?
If not, this needs to be selected.
If you want to replace contacts on your iPhone with what is available in the Address Book on your Mac, select Contacts for replace info on this iPhone under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences followed by a sync. -
