ThinkVision L2251x - Environment Sensing Utility only recognizes one monitor

Hello,
I have a ThinkCentre M90p with two ThinkVision L2251x monitors - one attached by DisplayPort and the other attached by VGA. Both monitors are also attached by a USB cable.
I have recently installed the Environment Sensing Utility, and it works fine on the monitor using DisplayPort, but it doesn't work at all on the other monitor.
I am able to use the cameras and microphones on both monitors using other software.
My OS is Windows 7 Professional, SP1.
I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks!

i had the same problem, i solved it by buying a more higher end "hdmi to vga" wire, i 1st bought a cheap conversion wire "hdmi to vga" from a slow boat from china via Amazon and it didn't work on my macbook but seems to be working well on my windows laptop.
so i bought another conversion wire via Amozon "hdmi to vga" from a company called Sewell Quirts in a 10' version.... now my mac mirrors or extend my laptop monitor, hope this helps.
and its not a "file" issue like everyone else says in here.
and my acer monitor is an older one with only a dvi and vga inputs.... using it to extend my 2014 macbook pro retina.

  • HT1430 iPhone only recognizes one home wifi network but ipad recognizes both

I have two home wifi networks. My iphone only recognizes one wifi which is the slower. Ipad recognizes both. I've turned router off and on and turned iphone off and on and makes no differences. Also ipad used to pick up unsecured wifi networks but no longer does
which I don't want but wonder why that suddenly changed

    Hey Dann4ever,
I would follow these steps for when you're unable to locate a Wi-Fi network on your iOS devices:
Be sure you're in range of your Wi-Fi router (access point).
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Confirm that your Wi-Fi router and cable or DSL modem are connected to power, turned on, and connected to the Internet. If not, refer to your network administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for assistance.
    Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap i and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.
Turn your Wi-Fi router off and on2. If your ISP also provides cable or phone service, check with them before attempting this step to avoid interruption of service.
Update your device to the latest version of software.
Update your Wi-Fi router to the latest firmware2. For AirPort Base Stations, install updates using the AirPort Utility.
Verify that the network is available by tapping Settings > Wi-Fi and choosing from the available networks.Note: It may take a few seconds for the Wi-Fi network name to appear.
Move closer to your wireless router (access point) and attempt to locate the Wi-Fi network.
If you do not see the network you would like to join, you may be attempting to connect to a hidden network. Learn how to join a hidden network.
Supported Wi-Fi configurations vary by iOS device model. Find out which standards your device supports3.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Note: This will reset all network settings including:
previously connected Wi-Fi networks and passwords
    recently used Bluetooth accessories
    VPN and APN settings

There are more recommendations in that above article, so if none of those work I would check out the other options within.

  • Trying to use multiple Blue Snowball Microphones, but Mac only recognizes one!

Trying to record using multiple snowball mics by blue, but the Mac will only recognize one device at a time. Only one shows up in system preferences, and in trying to create an aggragate device. If you have both plugged in, the audio levels freeze up, and the devices become unresponsive.
I have seen similar threads around but no one seems to have any answers. Blue's tech support is closed for the weekend so I can't call them. Please help if anyone has any ideas.

Typically, over USB I can only get my computers (mac and PC) to recognize 2 channels at a time over one source. If your computer is recognizing one and not both or the other when both are plugged in, I think one is all you're going to be able to use.  Also, in the system preferences under Sound, if you are able to only select one or the other, I believe all you can do is select which one you want to use.
Those micrphones work well and one should do a good job. Don't forget about Micrphone Phase Cancellation.

  • HT1670 Sync iPhone/Entourage will only recognize one of my two iPhones?

I have two iPhones. One I have managed to sync no problem, but the second is just not interested! A friend told me that with iPhone/Entourage will only recognize one iPhone, if so is there anything I can do to sync my second phone?

    Hi, Darcie13.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your device is not recognized by iTunes, I would recommend the steps in the article below.  Start with the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed.

  • Only recognize one CPU

Hello, I have a Power Mac G5 2.0Ghz (June 2004) with two processor, but the PM only recognize one Processor.

The symptom persists when I type from the open firmware the command lines provided.
    Thank again
When you bring up Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder, then, you only see one CPU usage graph when you click the "CPU" tab at the bottom?  Not something like this:
If that's the case, we have a puzzle on our hands, since the diagnostics should report a failed CPU, I would think..
Just for kicks, in System Profiler, what is your information display?  Copy down to just before the serial number, as in (my ancient machine)
    Hardware Overview:
      Machine Name:          Power Mac G5
      Machine Model:          PowerMac7,2
      CPU Type:          PowerPC 970  (2.2)
      Number Of CPUs:          2
      CPU Speed:          2 GHz
L2 Cache (per CPU):          512 KB
      Memory:          5 GB
      Bus Speed:          1 GHz
      Boot ROM Version:          5.1.4f0
And paste it into the reply like you did before.
(By the way, and off topic, I at least like the new ability to upload a picture directly.  One good change to the discussions.)

  • We have 2 mac books but i tv only recognizes one of them even after doing a reset

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Are you using the same homesharing ID for both computers, are they on the same network.

  • HT1423 My imac G5 only recognizes one slot after installing 2x2 GB ram

My mac is a early 2009 model running 10.7 software. I realized it was running pretty slow so i decided to upgrade the ram from 2GB to 4GB. After installing it, i checked my memory and it recognizes one slot and not the other.

I swapped them and it showed that the other slot did not recognize it either.
Its the correct RAM for my computer, I contacted the seller and hopefully they would send me another. Thank you!

  • Presentation only on one Monitor?

I am preparing a Presentation for 2 Beamers (Left & Right).
But also the new Keynote Provides only one Monitor Output 8(.
I cant present my Stage 1600x600 on my two Monitor Outputs
    (Left 800x600, Right 800x600 ).
I have tryed the Matrox TripleHead2Go - but this provides only 60Hz.
    And i need 50Hz.
Only way is to Export the complete Presentation as a Movie.
But then i can only Postion this Movie by Hand over the 2 Monitor Desktop.
What seems me a little bit unproffessional.
Maybe there is a utility which configured 2 Outputs to one Desktop Window.
So you can see the OS X Menue Bar on top over 2 Monitors.
    Thanks for any Help,
    Toby

    Hello Justin -
What do you have the monitor layout set to, Configuration > Video > Monitors?
If you want both outputs to mimic each other, you want to use single.  However, if you have it setup to use dual, then you'll only get the far-end on the first monitor, and on the second will be selfview and presentation content.  It sounds like you have it set to dual, you could if you wanted, put the selfview on the second monitor when presentation isn't being sent by configuring the following:
Configuration > Video > SelfviewDefault FullscreenMode > On
Configuration > Video > SelfviewDefault OnMonitorRole > Second
Could it have been that it was working sometime before and you might have been running TC5 or earlier software.  Starting with TC6 and later, the selfview behavior changed, and became more customizable, however it made all the selfview options need to be set by the user, esspecially if they were using dual screens.  Details about the monitor and selfview options can be found in the SX10 admin guide, starting around pg 114-115.
Something else to check is, what is the monitor roles set to, Configuration > Video > Output > HDMI # > MonitorRole?
If you have the monitor layout set to single, then both roles should be First, if dual, then HDMI 1 is First, and HDMI 2 is Second.

  • How do I transfer files from my PC to mini Mac if I only have one monitor?

I'm going to be purchasing a Mac mini. I have a Windows PC running XP. I only have one display monitor, so I was wondering how do I transfer files from my XP to my mini Mac with only one monitor?
    Thanks

You'd have to give us some more information in regard to the inputs of your display.
Generally, you should be able to plug your current PC into one input (DVI most likely) and then the Mac mini into another (HDMI) then flip between the inputs on the monitor via the on-screen menu.

  • Ipad only recognizes one Apple ID

I have two Apple IDs with the same password. On the iPad, only one is recognized. Every time I try to sign in with the other, and type in the password, the iPad rejects it. Why is this?
I have some purchases on one ID, and some on the other, and that is why I have to sometimes switch IDs.
iTunes match is enabled under one of the IDs.
    Any help is appreciated.

This ID mess started because I was seeing Apple messages that all IDs had to be email addresses, so I created a second ID. The problem is that some apps and purchases were under one ID, and some under the other ID. now, I never know which ID to log on with, and it takes at least a couple of attempts to log in, where Apple accepts the ID and password.
Also, I have iTunes Match under one of the IDs.

  • My 2 Ghz PowerPC G5 only recognizes one CPU.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I have a duel processor, shouldn't my hardware window under contents be showing "Number of CPUs: 2"? Right now it only shows "Number of CPUs: 1". This looks like a really bad thing, especially because I can't play really any of my Logic Projects anymore. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this issue?

I don't know which 2GHz model you have, was this a late 2005 with PCI Express video and slots? It could then be dual core, single cpu.

  • I have both a 1st generation AppleTV and 2nd Generation AppleTV, and my iTunes seems to only recognize one at a time - has anyone else had this problem - can you only use one at a time?

Is this a design flaw?  Since the 1st Generation has a hard drive (140GB).  If both are on, only the 1st Gen get recognized. I would think you could use both at the same time.....  Help!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes iTunes should work with them all together. Do they have different names, are they on the same network, have you noticed any other problems.

  • Icloud contacts only recognize one account

  • I have 8 gb on my macbook pro, but it sometimes only recognizes 4 gb. Whats going on?

I have 8 gb on my macbook pro, but it sometimes only recognizes one of the banks and thus only 4 gb. I was about to open my Macbook Pro mid 2010 2.66 up but it went back up to 8 gb of ram.
I also noticed that the macbook would go to sleep and not wake up again, sometimes. Not sure if this is related.
I did the usual, resetting the PRAM and the other thing with "shift control option." It didn't work and kept on saying 4 gb.
I woke up this morning ready to break open the mac when it read 8 gb. Great! But the **** is going on. Is that memory slot loose?
My google search and search through these forums were useless, no solutions. One guy tried changing his memory into the two banks, no difference. Sometimes it recognizes bank 1 sometimes it doesn't. Another put his ram in another computer, it's not the ram. Someone suggested the motherboard, then someone said "no way" for some arcane reason.
The only solution that seamed viable was going back to snow leopard, the last great OS. Im on mountain lion, not to shabby, but no leopard.
Problem is that I am out of warranty.
    Any suggestion would be helpful.

    why don't you try this:
open the back of your Macbook - if you're technically capable...
take the ram out, clean it up with a pencil eraser - blow it out - put them back in, slowly and in a slight angle until they lock into place - make sure they are seated correctly...
restart your macbook - if the same bank is still not detecting - then the issue is your RAM slot...
    good luck

  • How to transfer from one mini to another without messing up either one. I have one monitor and two minis. I do have a firewire cable but don't want a complete transfer, just specific files.

I have done a complete fire wire transfer before but I don't want to do that. I only want to transfer certain files and leave the existing and new minis in tact otherwise. I am sure I can transfer just files. My question mostly is: I only have one monitor but will have two minis that are hooked up. Can this be done without seeing the other computer contents? I hope that makes sense. The existing mini is 10.5.8 and the new one is 10.6.

You can start one mac up in target disk mode, get file sharing set up and then disconnect the monitor.  Monitor ports are very tolerant of connecting and disconnecting with the computer on.
Switch the monitor to the other computer.  Start up, connect the firewire cable (after the computer has booted) and set up file sharing on that computer.  You can see the other computer's contents without controlling the other computer's mouse and/or keyboard.
If the other computer's hard drive does not automatically show up, go to network settings and verify those settings as well.  That should not be necessary but ethernet would give you a second option for file transfers.
