Third Generetion Ipad battery  problem...Help.

So the first time i charged my new ipad, it took a while for it to be fully charged(i totally understand that). The real problem is that it gets too hot while its charging and sometimes is not even plug in and still the temperature is very high. I find it really difficult to hold it. The battery drains faster, and it doesnt even last 6 or 7 hours. The iPad functions like it suppose but most of the time the problem takes over. I just want this ipad to function like the ipad 2, in terms of battery and the whole heat, thing problem.Do you guys think that if i consult an apple store they could replace the device? Is this a common issue? Please help.

Take your iPad to your Apple Store (it's best to make an appointment at the Genius Bar in advance).  They'll check out your iPad.  If they determine it is defective, they will replace it on the spot.

  • Post IOS 8.1.3 iPad speaker problems, Help!!

After updating to ios 8.1.3 all sounds coming from my iPad (32 GB 4th gen.) have major static distortion undertones; including key sounds, music, audio & video etc. This occurs at ANY volume, & I've never listened to very loud music on the iPad.
I really do not think I could have damaged my speakers, and the simple fact that the same debilitating static sound is being transmitted through to my Bluetooth speakers is very strange?!
(I updated to the latest IOS; 8.1.3, in hopes of fixing another  volume related problem; certain apps that have small audio files (dictionaries) were not functioning, and although my settings for "Key Clicks" and "Lock Sounds" were always "on"- suddenly they disappeared. Now they're back with a horrible static noise. Apart from "rebooting" or soft resetting my iPad- I have no clue what to do?
Any help would be a fantastic.
(I was also wondering if I'm the only one out there who seems to have a defective power supply port- every time I find an "Apple made & approved" lighting cable, after 2 to 4 months the iPad stops detecting it at all- or I'm given messages reading; "this accessory is/ may not be compatible with the iPad..."!  I almost wish for the days of the 32 pin cables- I imagine micro USB's were never even an option at Apple!) Any help or information about this would be sincerely appreciated! Thanks!

I had this problem, too, I my iPad with Retina display (~ 2 years old).  Luckily we were just under our extended warranty, so we had a new device shipped to us (another iPad with Retina display).  I installed the backup from the original iPad using iTunes, and everything has been working well for about two weeks.  Now, all of a sudden, we're getting the same static-like undertones through some apps and the lock/unlock and keyboard sounds.
Before I sent the first iPad back to the company, I did a complete factory reset on it.  I noticed after the factory reset that the sound on the original iPad had returned to normal (at least as far as the key pad is concerned).
My plan for the replacement iPad at this point if this keeps up is to back it up using iTunes, give it a factory reset, and restore it again from the iTunes back-up.
I would certainly be curious to hear if anyone else is experiencing these problems.

  • V570 battery problems HELP !!

Hi as I said I have a v570 ive had it about a year ,and today its saying that I need to replace the battery and that theres a problem with the battery Exact warning is There is a problem with your battery so your computer may shut down suddenly .Im really worried ,right now its my dedicated computer and I have a ton of work to get done on it so im really dependent on it .What I wanted to know is
1If I can just keep using it pluged into the adapter even if the battery has problems ,I think thats called ac power ?
2 if this could be an error message (and if I can do anything about that).I more than likely cant get a battery for it ,so im kinda screwed here .And I dont think I can afford another computer right also this has like a lot of stuff on it so thats not an option .help ? please

    vbr wrote:
Wait take it out along with the adapter and then hold the power button again ,with it out ? can I ask why ,just for curiousity ,as it doesnt have either battery or charger wouldnt it be technically without any power ? Or does it have residual power or something .Again thank you
It needs to be done without adapter and without battery. This process releases any residual charge from system. This helps in most hardware cases.
The settings in Energy Management do not lead to the issue that you are facing. Also battery gauge rest\et does a full discharge and charge of battery. It helps in activating all cells of battery and increase backup. In your case, I would suggest not to try it. It may cause more damage.

    I have an..
    HP Pavilion dv6

    Windows 7
My problem is that when I plug the charger to my laptop, the battery light/indicator becomes red, usually meaning that there a problem, which there is. My laptop does charge, I dont know if its charging faster or slower. Another thing is that the charger is very very hot!
So I dont really know what to do, any sugestions?

Can you let me know the specific model DV6 this is? An AC adapter being somewhat hot is normal, but being very very hot is not. Is the adapter hot enough to burn you? If so I would definitely disconnect it from the wall until we can verify that it is functioning properly.

  • Powerbook g4 Battery Problem--Help!

I've had a Powerbook G4 (15 inch) since 2005 so it's clearly out of warranty. It was bought right before the charger was changed on the Powerbooks. My battery was part of the recall group so this battery was new as of January 2007.
My battery will not charge. When I turn on my computer, my time and date is March 24th 2001 (and will fix itself in a few minutes of turn on). My charger will turn orange for about...10 minutes before turning green. However, my battery is not charging at all. AT ALL.
I've tried resetting PRAM (mind you, I know what these terms mean only bc of googling due to this problem) by pulling battery and power and holding down power for 5 seconds then turning on. OPTION + COMMAND + P + R nor OPTION + COMMAND + O + F DO NOT work at all. They do nothing. Tried each about ten times--nothing. Tried a different charger--still the same problem. The battery worked as of week ago but the battery died while the laptop was asleep.
    System profiler states the following:

Hi, save, and welcome to Apple Discussions. Reset the Power Management Unit in your Powerbook and see whether the failure to charge persists, as I fully expect it will. If it does, your battery with only 45 cycles on it is clearly defective — a common problem among the batteries that were provided under the replacement program.
Take your Powerbook, adapter and battery to an Apple Store Genius Bar and demonstrate the failure to charge. The Genius will probably reset the Power Manager again and then test using a different battery and a different adapter. When s/he concludes that your battery is defective, you should be offered another free replacement battery.

  • HUGE ipad battery problem!

okay so basically i've had my ipad since june last year. it had been working fine i'd usually be playing on it for hours and the battery would only go down to like 90%. im not sure if it was after or before the new update (probably after) the battery starting decreasing very fast! when i'd watch a movie it would go down 10% half way through the movie! with my brightness halfway and no other apps running on the multitask.. not only that the location services and the push notifications are kept off aswell! its not only when i watch movies that the battery goes down even when i play games such as angry birds or real racing if i play for 30 minutes the batter goes down about 15%, the reason i dont think its the update is because my brother and dad both have ipads and they have the new updated and their battery doesnt die as fast as mine! so does anyone know what i could do? i was thinking of taking it to the apple store hoping for a replacement but im not sure if they would give me a new one just like that?

    bobgoldstein wrote:
Sorry, but I think this is a mis-statement of Apple's advice. I believe they mean to tell us to make sure we do some charging of the battery in the iPad at least once a month, even if the device is unused.
Despite what you believe, the actual text from Apple, as contained in the User's Guide and elsewhere, is as follows:
    +Use Your iPad Regularly+
+For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).+
And I was told in another thread, that it puts more stress on the battery to charge it from a deep discharge, and that doing so will lessen its overall lifespan.
So who are we to believe, Apple or some anonymous yahoo who told you something or other in some other unspecified thread?
RTM remains a fairly useful starting point in many cases.
For anyone wondering, '...completely running it down ...' means exactly what it seems to. Keep using your iPad right on through all of the low power warnings until it finally quits on you.

  • UK user on BT Hub3-ipad wifi problem-Help!

Since upgrading to OSX 10.8.1 I am unable to connect my ipad2 to wifi using BTHUB3 (UK user). Have tried all the obvious things but cannot get this to work. I am told this is a glitch on apple software and an upgrade is due Sept 2012. Any ideas? Thx

    Hi KP,

  • I think ios 5.0.1 has fixed my battery problem on ipad 1

Was glad to see this morning when I woke up ios 5.0.1 was out.
I downloaded it straight away through the ipad it self..
Once done I then charged up my ipad to full 100% ..
Now I started using it from around 9am this morning and its 4.10 pm now.. and I'm still at 89% battery...I think i can safely say the problem has been fixed
I don't know if this is normal or not..but to drop down from 100% to 99% it took around 33 mins... but I did notice from 99% to 93% it was dropping like 1% every 7-8 mins.. anyways i left it around midday at 90% 4 hours has passed now and its down to 89%... so im really pleased with the fix. I hope it stays this way lol.
Has IOS 5.0.1 fixed everyone's ipads battery problems??
Been reading up for the iphone 4s also and it seems 5.0.1 hasn't done anything for the battery charge... was really hoping to purchase a 4s soon ..but if they still have the battery problem I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

In terms of the battery, if you are not already doing so you should go through at least one charge cycle per month i.e. charging to 100%, running it down so that powers off, and then charging back up to 100%, which should help keep the battery indicator accurate - it's recommended towards the bottom of this page http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html
I hadn't noticed any problems with the battery on my first gen iPad, but I've updated anyway.

  • IPad Air battery problems, need help ASAP!

My iPad Air battery drains EXTREMELY fast and it's supposed to have up to 10 hours (only 2-3 hours for me) and my iPad charger keeps charging backwards and it always dies even though it's charged. This makes no sense at all and it frustrates me because I have to leave it alone while charging but I want to go on it while charging. The charger takes FOREVER to get to 100% when not using it. My iPad Air is a 128 GB with wifi. Please help and tell me if this happens to you also. Thanks.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • Ipad mini battery problems

hello i have a ipad mini and recently i have been having some problems with it for around one week, i normally leave it charging through the night and when i wake up my ipad says that my battery is at 100% when i take it of the charger it says 99%. so i restart it and the ipad says that the battery is back to 100% (this happens every single morrning)
now this morrning i woke up and my battery was 100% so i took it of the charger and said it was on 99% i went to have a shower and when i came back the ipad was displaying that i had 88% so i restarted it and it said that i had 88% not 100% even though it had no use while i was in the shower.
so how can a battery drop that much in 30 mins
