Third party control of SX10

Can the SX10 be controlled via micro USB with a Crestron processor? If so, does anyone have any experience with it?
The crestron gear will be on a seperate VLAN than the Cisco gear so IP control can not be used for security reasons. I know the SX20 can be controlled with the USB port but the SX10 USB port shows it is only for "future use."

You can control the SX10 (and most of the other endpoints) from a Crestron processor via the network with an SSH/Telnet connection, or using the XML API. This removes any need for the old Serial control, or USB interfaces. Although, if you've one a different VLAn and don't have connectivity - then that will be problematic - could you just open up communication for a small subset of ports between the two devices?
The SX10 isn't an Integrator type endpoint, so is not designed to be used with any external control system (other than the Cisco Touch Panle controllers). For this sort of integration the SX80 device is the one that's targetted to that space.

Following are the answers to some of your queries -
1) Inventory Valuation - The inventory of your company is your investment in the goods. Hence, you should know much money is invested in the inventory. You can valuate your inventory in 2 ways -
S - Standard Valuation
V - Moving Average Price Valuation
Standard valuation is used for material manufactured inhouse, where as MAP is used for materials procured from outside.
2) G/L Account - This is the General Ledger Account, where all the financial postings from various areas are done. For every transaction a G/L account is specified. These entries are then accumulated either to P/L statement or Balance sheet
3) Bill Of Material - This indicates the quantity of sub assemblies / semifinished materials which are required for manufacturing final product.
4) Third Party - When you ask your vendor to supply a material directly to your customer, then the PO is Third Party PO.
5)Scheduling Agreement - When you make a long term agreement with your vendor, & release a partial quantity at a time for supplying (as per your requirement) it is called a Scheduling Agreement.

Nano External (Third-Party) Control

I've got the 1.0.3 FW, which fixed the cover flow thing that was causing me trouble, but there's still one more problem i've got that's meaning I can't use it as I want.
I connect the iPod in the car, and usually carry it around locked (for obvious reasons) - and with my old iPod could just plug it in like that and it'd auto-play the iPod when I turned the radio on. The Nano however seems to struggle. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it - sometimes it will turn on automatically, sometimes i have to unlock it before it recognises the radio and starts to play (it plays immediately on unlocking it, don't have to actually press play).
Mine connects to the car using a Connects2 kit, but interested in hearing if anyone else has similar problems with other third-party kit that uses the dock connector to control the iPod?

There might be something there that is at least similar to the app your looking for.
edit: There is one shareware that is an iTunes plugin called Multi-tunes. With it you can create multiple iTunes libraries, one library called "Main" one called "Bootlegs" etc, and Multi-Tunes will allow you to quickly switch between them from within the iTunes window. Not exactly what your looking for but close.

How do I allow parental controlled users to access third party apps on the admin account?

I just set my son up with a separate parental controlled user account and he can't seem to access some third party games that we installed for him under my admin account. He has saved progress on these games that we don't want to lose, so I don't want to reinstall them. I checked them off as allowed apps, but when he tries to play- the game icon shows up in the doc then changes to the updater icon and they won't run. I've searched for answers to this question, but can't seem to find any. Please help? My son and I would be very grateful!

It is not about payment of $19.95 (Igalsses) or $7.99(webcam settings). This is a very basic setting that should be available in the system settings. The automatic setting of the internal cam does not work great on low lighting as everyone is aware.
i am just amazed how users take in lying down and suggest solutions such as paying for a 3rd party paid app or improving the lighting in your room.

In Windows XP I have lost control over third party cookies

I bought a refurbished computer with Windows XP. But now I have noticed there is no control over cookies in Firefox. In Windows Vista there was 'block third party cookies' there was 'state which websites to permanently block' or 'allow' and even then I was only using Firefox... Now there is nothing. On top of that none of the "cookies control" add-ons for Firefox seem to be any good at all. I don't know what to do!
Why would Firefox change with Windows XP?? I can see with IE of course but Windows operating system has nothing to do with Firefox, if you know what I mean.

Third Party Application Control

How can I gain control of the windows of a third party application.
For example, if I write a program to startup Freecell, how would I go about starting a new game, goinf to file on the menubar and saying new game.

You get yourself a reference book on how to use the Windows APIs. Then you write some JNI code that uses those APIs. There is no pure Java method of doing that.

Control load order of third-party menulets / menu extras at startup

Does anyone know how to control or adjust the load order of third-party menulets / menu extras at startup? I am using the latest update to Tiger.

There are two types of third-party menulets: those that use Apple's sanctioned "NSStatusItem" (which is not as full featured as Apple's menulets) and those that use the reversed-engineered (and unpublished) "NSMenuExtra" which is exactly what Apple's menulets use. The method for arranging these in your menubar depend on the type:
1) Apple and "NSMenuExtra" menulets: hold down the command key (and keep it down) and you can click and drag these in the order your like.
2) "NSStatusItem" menulets: these are added to left side of the the other menulets in the order they are launched. If these applications are in your "Login Items" then OS X launches these simultaneously, which means those that launched "quicker" will end up towards the right, and others will end up towards the left. The only real solution to controlling this order is to control the launch order by writing an AppleScript for each one that puts in an artificial delay before launch. Then, use these AppleScripts as your Login Items instead.

Controling third party plug-ins

How can I use controllers +in mainstage 2+ to control third-party plug-ins like omnisphere and reaktor 5? I know I can MIDI-map directly to these plug-ins, but then every time I change preset within the plug-in, all the MIDI-mappings are gone. So basicly, I`m looking for a way to keep my MIDI-mappings through preset-changes withing plug-ins. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi, I was kinda curious about this and decided to d/load the Reaktor 5 demo and tried it out. No problem mapping screen controls from Mainstage to R5 knobs or sliders and it remembered all the connections between each patch just fine.
I didn't do anything special just the usual click the Mainstage control then mapped the parameter to a control in Reaktor 5 and it worked fine even with the R5 demo. Maybe you can provide a little more detail on how you tried to configure?

Accessing third party programs for managed accounts w/parental controls

Hello - I am trying to set up a managed account for a child. I have installed some third party software. When I attempt to allow access under parental controls to this software, while I can see it under the parental control screen (eg, using System Preferences), when this account is actually accessed, the program does not appear.
I've had many problems in the past with parental controls, and would appreciate any sources, tutorials, etc on the matter!

A post in the link FromOZ provided held the answer.
Currently there seems to be an issue with Profile Manager and Admin account etc. According to the other thread so long as you use, user profiles the problem exists. One user in the other thread put forth that they stoped using user profiles and were using device profiles. Which seemed to fix the issue. I can confim removing all user profiles and only using device profile solves the issue.
What I did was create a group just for each user place all there devices into that group and never touch the individual user profile again.
Maybe this will help someone I dont know but maybe. Its a bit of a pain in the rear but now I have dictation fixed. Heres hoping the next verison of Server fixes this.
ps.. This was a perliminary test of just a few things like VPN, WIFI, and a few settings. I dont expect it to change once, I get more indepth.

Home Monitoring and Control with a third party also monitoring and controlling?

I was wondering if anyone has tried to install Home Monitoring and Control with a third party monitoring, and or controlling the same devices. I know many systems offer multiple control points such as auxilary control touch screens. Has anyone made this work? I have Z wave devices on my home security system (lighting), and would also like to monitor them via Verizon. Possibly also adding some energy monitoring and control, that is not available via my security company. My security monitoring company provide support through Alarm.com, but has limited energy monitoring to thermostat control and such.
The only interactive control with my security company is for alarm monitoring and control, with limited lighting control. All of my devices are GE in the wall mounted lighting controls, and I would prefer to pay Verizon the few extra dollars for the additional features VIA the web, rather than pay Verizon. There used to be an energy package, that included the main power panel load and I thing Thermostat, but I believe some of the bundles have been split up.
There are other options out there now, but I have neen exploring. My GE Switches are from the Lowes Iris system. Much less expensive, and can replace existing wall switches, not like the power cord switches. Plus the store is four miles from my house.

I started with Verizon home monitoring, but if you read through the threads the service is extremely unreliable, still to this day. I am stillusing it, although I am waiting for a refund on the services that I have used since it is so bad but I bought a MiCasaVerde Vera3 system. You pay appoximately $300 for the unit and there is no monthly charge and you get all the features plus pretty much unlimited types of z wave devices to use on it. I would seriously consider using that before Verizon.
