Third party extension in Jdeveloper 11.1.2.0.0
Hi All,
Now Jdev 11.1.2.0.0 is supports for third party extension(PMD rules) ?.
Thanks,
Vass Lee.
PMD is written by a 3rd party developer, and not Oracle. They have not ported the extension to work with JDev 11gR2 yet. I know they have started to look into it, but the lead developer just had a new baby and they are focusing on their new family member that last time I spoke with them. Hopefully they will have something soon. I recommend that you contact the PMD team directly for more details on when they will have the extension available for JDev 11.1.2 (11gR2).

First eCommerce site - Business Catalyst or Third Party extension?
Hi all,
I'm just starting out in freelance web design and I have a thorough knowledge of HTML and CSS and have built numerous sites using dreamweaver previously. I now have a full CC package (and am loving it I must say), but am far more a designer than a developer and thus my knowledge of PHP CF etc. are at the very least limited. I now have a client who is interested in an ecommerce site and I just wondered what approach people would suggest.
From my reading I can see that third party extensions such as cartweaver often rely on PHP or CF and since my knowledge of them is minimal, I had guessed that BC would be the way to go, but if anybody could give me any reasons as to why I could be right or wrong with this, it would be greatly appreciated!Unless you're familiar with building a CMS, MySql databases, PHP connections, web server security and PCI compliance, an e-commerce site is best left in the hands of experienced professionals. BC is one option to consider if you intend to use it to build & host the site. BC Modules won't work on other servers.
There are other 3rd party shopping carts services you could use like PayPal and ASecureCart Shopping Cart. A secure, PCI Compliant shopping cart..

Wireframing - third party extensions with Dreamweaver?
Hi,
I'm learning the concept of wireframing, and am aware that the answer to my question will probably be obvious to more people than to me. Does Dreamweaver work with a third party extension in wireframing? (Maybe that's what the template are for, but I don't know.) I'm currently using Adobe Dreamweaver CS4, have not upgraded yet to CS5.
Thanks in advance!
DavidHi,
How exactly are you planing to use the wireframes? We have a Dreamweaver extension that can be used for wireframing, please send us an email.
Thanks,
Cristian Dorobantescu

New in FF8 is that 3rd party addons and extensions have to be manually enabled. But it is annoying to have to manually enable 25 extensions manually every time i restart FireFox 8. There are many addons that i consider important, like Adblock Plus, and would like these to be enabled automatically every time i open Firefox, instead of having to give it permission every time i open my browser. Please tell me if there is a way of keeping my addons and extensions enabled.
Do a custom install and install each version in its own program folder to use multiple Firefox versions.

When I export a swf from Indesign with Page curl, the text is hard to read (blurry) and there is no zoom feature or navigation bar. Is there a specific software I should download instead of exporting from Indesign.
Well there´s plenty of solutions for that, which one is correct depends on what kind of content you wish to have. And you should also note that SWF/Flash based solutions are not compatible with mobile/tablet devices. Anyway if you
-need a solution for passive print replica content, you will find lot´s of different services and softwares which are able to convert your PDF to Flash/SWF. You can´t usually use any interactive elements or rich media in those cases.
-need to make your SWF with InDesign and you want to use videos, links, slideshows etc. Then you need a 3rd party finalizer which you can use to wrap your InDesign SWF to better working user interface. One solution is eDocker FLASH! Here´s a sample of InDesign SWF finalized with eDocker: http://old.edocker.com/_demo/edocker-online-demo/index.html
More info about the product: http://www.edocker.com/edocker/edocker-flash/ or eDocker :: eDocker2 Desktop Publisher®
I think eDocker FLASH! is in some kind of 50% discount right now.
-need to make publicaton that works with computer and mobile/tablets. Then you may have to drop Flash and check out HTML5 solutions. Some of the more advanced flip-page services are offering also conversion to HTML5 but be careful if you need interactive elements and/or rich media, most of them are ripping all that off. At least eDocker and 3dIssue are offering HTML5-solutions with possibility to use interactivity/rich media...

Problems using third-party JDBC with JDeveloper
Hi:
I've tried to use an Informix's JDBC to access an Informix Online Workgroup v. 7.22 under Win NT 4.0, using JDeveloper. I tried Informix JDBC Driver V. 2.1 successfully with old-fashioned code using Connect, Statement and ResultSet objects, coding connections directly, but I couldn't define a connection so I can use wizards, 'cause I got an "Unable to find server: com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver" error when I tried to test connection. I've probed this:
* Create a library for Informix JDBC in my project. This step allowed me to make run my old-fashioned code.
* When I created connection, I defined correct login, password and role parameters, then I selected "Other JDBC" on the JDBC Driver's combo, as classname I defined "com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver" and as URL "jdbc:informix-sqli://127.0.0.1:1526/atlas:INFORMIXSERVER=produc_shm;".
Classname I used is equals to classname I used in Class.forName method. URL use same format than DriverManager.getConnection method, adding pair user-password to it, and those parameters work ok coding connection directly using Connection method. By the other side, looking at Informix JDBC's Manual, it says Informix's JDBC supports connection using Datasource also.
Which are steps I must follow?
Omar Muqoz.
nullHi,
Unfortunately there was a regression bug around using the Generic JDBC connector to a Foreign Database in this Technology Preview (3). I'm not able to give you good news as I don't have a workaround for you either.
You could use SQLDeveloper to connect to the database for live work, unfortunately that will not help if you wanted to create offline objects of some sort using JDeveloper.

Susan

Basically, my requirement is to get all the third party extensions/add-ons enabled by default. Though Firefox8 and above have disabled the third party extensions/add-ons, is there any way to customize the settings so that all third party extensions and add-ons get enabled by default in Firefox8 and above.
I had that problem once, the way I fixed the two addons I had problems with was to find and manually download the xpi file from the author's page. Once you have that you can edit the install.rtf file that is inside it.
Here's a guide on how that works.

Third party JDBC Driver and Domain Extension
Hi everyone, I'm using a third party driver to acess some of the legacy databases in my company. I'm adding them to Weblogic's (v. 10.3.3.0) Classpath by setting the EXT_PRE_CLASSPATH in the setWLEnv.sh file. Everything worked fine so far, until I had to extend my domain to acomodate new settings. The Configuration Wizard crashes in the middle by saying "A fatal error Has Occurred. This Application will terminate". By inspecting the logs I saw that the Wizard tried to search my Data Source which used the third party driver and couldn't find the Driver Class. I would like to know if there is a better way to add the library to the Weblogic's Classpath or someway to workaround this issue during the extension. In my current situation I'm having to erase the data source, extend the domain and reconfigure the data source, which is big trouble !
Any help will be appretiated ! Thanks
PS: I've also tried to add the third party driver's JAR in the CLASSPATH inside config.sh file but unfortunately the error was the same !You can place your jar files in the domain lib directory.
WebLogic uses a separate classloader to load classes from the domain lib directory. This classloader
is a child of the system classloader, and a parent of the application classloaders. The classes and
resources in any .jar file placed in the directory is automatically available to all applications.
Note, however, that the domain lib classloader does not support redeployment, dynamic reloading, or FastSwap, and cannot
refer directly to code in the application classloaders. But i think that this is not a problem, you just want your
thrid party JDBC driver to be availlable for your applications. -
IP Telephony: CCME extension mobility any third party options?
We have a requirement for extension mobility with several CCME deployemnst (100 offices globaly).
Are there "any" options available
If not there should be as this is a common PBX feature and in the SMB (20-60) user market there is a massive requirement.
Cisco do shareholders a favour and increase shareholder profit therfore wack it in 4.1 of CCME criky what are you not thinking. It may be roadmapped..
Probably a good question for CME product manager
I am not aware of a third party suite that supports this. I will check to see if there are any.

Extension Manager not seeing third party plugins
I have a third party plugin that I would like to disable without uninstalling, but the Extension Manager CC does not even see it for me to click off. Suggestions?
I cannot address the 3rd party plug-ins, but if installed properly (differs by company), they should Export fine.
Now, I find Auto Levels (actually about all Auto Effects) to be useless. Instead, use the regular Levels. If, within one of your Clips, you need to vary it, just use the Razor to cut that Clip into mini-Clips, as it will not Keyframe, unless CS4 has changed this. Levels is an excellent Effect.
Also, Shadow & Highlight can be very useful too. Its default is Auto, but you can just click that OFF and adjust as is needed.
Good luck,

How to extend a wifi network of third party router with TC 4th generation?
After searching the communities for a while, I did not find a definitive answer on the following question:
- I recently bought a 4th generation Time Capsule 2TB (MD0322/A), that I also want to use as an extension for our existing wifi network.
- This wifi network is maintained by a Sitecom Wireless 300N XR Gigabit Router. Router is set to work over 2.4 GHz (B+G+N) because of several non-N-wifi devices in the network. The channel in use is currently 11.
- This router provides so called WDS functionality, i.e. the ability for other wifi access points to act as a seamless extension of the basic wifi network (using the same SSID).
- The security settings in the router are WPA2 Mixed, with a password in plain ASCII.
- There seems to be no way to set different security levels for WDS-connections versus normal AP (access point) connections. If WDS is enabled, the security settings of the AP-mode are extended to the WDS connection.
I have set the Sitecom router to enable WDS, and added the MAC-address of the TC in the configuration of this router.
When configuring the Time Capsule, with Airport Utility 5.5.3, I can select the option to use TC to extend an existing network, and I can select the network of choice using the WPA personal or WPA/WPA personal security. However, the TC does not succeed in extending the network, and reports this back. If I manually configure the TC and select the network of choice, Airport Utility reports back that the selected network cannot be extended.
I have read several times in other posts that Time Capsule can only connect to third party routers via WDS using WEP-authentication, but these posts were quite old. I was wondering if this is still the case, or that Apple has updated this functionality in newer versions of TC, and thus there could exist a trick to connect to a WDS using WPA.
I really would appreciate suggestions

Airport can not be used to extend a WiFi created by a non-Apple box.
You need to turn off the radio in the router (shut down the existing WiFi). Purchase TWO Airport Express units. Connect one to the router with an Ethernet cable. Configure that one as your primary WiFi network and then use the second Express as the extender.
You need to locate the second Express where it receives a decent WiFi signal. Too far away and it has nothing to extend. Too close and it doesn't buy you anything. Before you plug in the second Express, check to see where the primary WiFi disappears completely. My personal WAG is that you want to locate the second Express 2/3 the distance to that point.
If you use Airport Utility to configure the units, it's a snap. In fact, if you configure the primary first and the extender second, AU will default to exactly the settings that you want.
By the way, I refereed to the Express because it's less expensive than the Extreme and you didn't indicate any need for the Extreme features. -

Deploying third party EJB 3.0 jar in web application
I have a web application which calls services provided by EJB 3.0 beans packaged in third party jar. How do a configure the web application project to deploy the beans to the embedded OC4J container when I run the application? The jar file is reference by the project, and I have a META-INF/application.xml referencing those jar files as EJB modules. I've set the EJB Version property to 3.0, but the Annotated EJB 3.0 Bean Classes list remains empty, presumably because I have no beans defined in the sources of the application. When running the project, the oc4j container warns that the EJB module contains no beans. I'd like to deploy the beans in the jar file, but can't figure out how.
Thanks,
Steve
JDeveloper 10.1.3.4

Edited by: user10375549 on Oct 29, 2009 6:38 AM - Fixed typo.I don't think this technique will work. I added a META-INF/ejb-jar.xml file to the application, and added a <session> section for one of the EJB 3.0 beans from my third party jar. I specified values for <ejb-name>, <ejb-class>, and <session-type> hoping the rest of the configuration would be determined from the annotations in the class. When the server starts, this warning message is displayed:
Oct 30, 2009 12:06:41 PM com.evermind.server.ejb.logging.EJBDeploymentMessages warningSessionBizInterfaceNotDefined
WARNING: \[current-workspace-app: ... \] - The session bean does not has at least one business interface defined for client access. The bean is not accessiable and usable at runtime.
Ready message received from Oc4jNotifier.
Embedded OC4J startup time: 11042 ms.

EJB 3.0 beans are not required to define business interfaces, as they are supposed to be generated by the container.
Good idea, but still cannot deploy beans from the third party EJB 3.0 jar referenced by my project to the embedded OC4J container. Still investigating.
Thanks,
Steve
By the way, I have been able to use your technique to deploy EJB 2.1 beans from third party jars in other projects, just not EJB 3.0 beans that do not provide ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptors, nor business interfaces.
Edited by: user10375549 on Oct 30, 2009 9:51 AM - Added relevant comment regarding technique described for solving problem. It works for EJB 2.1 beans but not EJB 3.0 beans. -
How to Deploy the third party EJB 3.0 jar in web application
I have a web application which calls services provided by EJB 3.0 beans packaged in third party jar. How do a configure the ViewController project to deploy the beans to the weblogic server when I run the application rather than deploy the EJB ear as a stand application to the server?
The jar file has already referenced by the project. In the "EJB Module" of project properties I've set the EJB Version property to 3.0, but the Annotated EJB 3.0 Bean Classes list remains empty, presumably because I have no beans defined in the sources of the application. When running the project the EJB jar did not deploy automatically. Is there something wrong? How can I achive this goal?
Best Wishes~

Edited by: user10375549 on Oct 30, 2009 9:51 AM - Added relevant comment regarding technique described for solving problem. It works for EJB 2.1 beans but not EJB 3.0 beans. -
My wife has been having problems with Safari, and many third party software and malware programs infecting her Mac Book Pro. I have tried to reset Safari but it keeps coming back, taking over Safari, changing defaults, start pages, and search engines, Etc.
Is it safe to use programs like MacKeeper, who keeps send my wife's computer message and alerts, or should I just wipe the drive and start over?
SkipI am having lot's of lag time with Safari, etc..
I'll type in a website.. and it will take 15-20 seconds to start..
