Third Party Filters in PSE 13

Hi,
I have been using PSE 10 for some time now, and have been using 3rd party filters/plugins in the editor (Topaz Labs, DXO ViewPoint, Perfect Effects).
As these other tools were installed after I installed PSE 10, I could see them listed at the bottom of the 'Filters' menu.
I have now installed PSE 13, so I cannot see these extra filters.
I read on another forum that I could add another filter library by selecting 'Edit > Preferences > PlugIns' and then navigating to the folder containing one of the 3rd party tools, which I have done.
However, this only allows me to add the filters for one of the products (E.g. Topaz Labs), if I try to add the filters for another product it loses the Topaz Labs filters and shows just the newly added filters.
How do I get all my old filters shown?
Do I need to uninstall these tools and re-install them?

I have found a resolution here Plug-ins are not available by default
For those experiencing a similar issue I have outlined the steps below:
- Basically, what I did was opened 2 Explorer windows.
- In one I navigated to my PSE 10 Plugins folder and in the other I navigated to my PSE 13 Plugins folder (see link above for the locations of these folders).
- I then copied the relevant folders / shortcuts from PSE 10 to PSE 13 folders.
- One adjustment I needed to make for the Topaz Labs plugins was to ensure that the Plugins_X64 folder, for each of my purchased products, was renamed to Plugins (because PSE 13 is 64 bit on 64 bit operating systems).
- Restarted PSE 13, Selected 'Edit > Preferences > Plugins' and unticked the 'Additional Plug-Ins Folder' option.

  • Third-party filters unavailable in CS4 (Mountain Lion)

I've noticed that a number of my third-party filters (Alien Skin Exposure, SilverEfex Pro and Topaz Simplify) are not available in CS4 since I upgraded to Mountain Lion. I can still run them in Lightroom.
I have reinstalled Exposure and did so with Mountain Lion's gatekeeper disabled. This made no difference so I thun completed uninstalled this plugin and reinstalled again from scratch and it made no difference.
The plugins that aren't available all appear to be installed in the Applications folder.
Basically each of the plugins is greyed-out in the menu bar and if I try to run them from a palette (SilverEfex) I get an error message “The command SilverEfex Pro 2 is not available”
Any help on this would be most welcome.

  • Third party filters such as Topaz Labs not showing up after upgrade to CC 2014

Has anyone noticed if their third party filters have been missing since upgrading to Photoshop CC 2014. I have lost all mine :-(

Your 3rd party plug-ins are not automatically migrated to the new version.
Check to see if the makers offer updated installers, and install them into Photoshop CC (2014).

  • Third Party Filters

Where do I find third party files in Photoshop 6CC.  I currently use Photoshop 6CS extended and my third party files like NIK are found in the filter pulldown menu.

What are Photoshop "6CC" and "6CS"?  Those are not designators of any known versions of Photoshop.
There's Photoshop CS6 (under the covers, version 13.x), and Photoshop CC (version 14.x).
Their user interfaces are the same.  You'll find plug-ins in the same places in both, once the plug-ins are installed.
You *did* install your plug-ins in Photoshop CC, right?  They don't just magically appear in the new version of Photoshop.

  • Compressor 3.5 Upgrade - will third-party filters still work?

I am about to upgrade to Final Cut Studio 3 from 2 and have several pre-existing third-party plug-ins. Will these be retained and fully-function post-upgrade? I am specifically concerned about my Cinema Craft Encoder MP for compressor... after upgrading to Compressor 3.5 will it still work?
    Many thanks,
    Evan

  • Suggestions for third party plug-ins

I’m looking into purchasing some third party filters soon. I’m into special events like anniversaries, weddings, High School events like sports seasons, musicals, etc.
What are the third party plug-ins or filters that you would recommend?
    Hank Kearns

    For what purpose?
In other words, what effects are you trying to make?
I’m slowly learning more about Final Cut Pro and editing. I do not have any specific need right now. Perhaps I should have asked what are the effects that the more experienced users have found useful.
Here is an example of a effect produced by chv that was posted on Ken Stone’s Discussion List. The contributor I believe is the creator of the plug-in.
    <http://www.chv-plugins.com/tmp/Ken-3D-Cube-Demo.mov>
Right now I do not have a need for something like that, but it would be nice to have to potential of creating something like this when needed.

  • How do PS CS3 Noise Reduction Filters compare with dedicated third-party plug-ins?

Am I missing something by not installing a dedicated Noise Reduction application into my PS CS3? Can Neat Image, Noise Ninja, Noiseware Pro, etc. do something that the PS CS3 Noise Filters can't do? Do these third-party aplications do it better?
Since I like flashless photography, and I generally carry with me small-sensor compacts when I travel, I'm frequently confronted with the problem of digital noise. I've always wondered how the third-party noise reduction applications perform in comparison with the Photoshop Noise Filters. I hope someone in this Forum has been able to acquire direct experience on this topic and will be kind enough to share this experience with us.
    Kindest Regards,
    Conrad

    Conrad,
ACR 4.3 has better NR (noise reduction) than previous versions and can handle NR in most normal situations. However, available light photography with a small pixel sensor may require more NR and the specialized plugins such as Noise Ninja, NeatImage, and NoiseWare Pro can do a better job. I have all three and they do an excellent job, but I currently use NoiseWare most of the time.
Here is a demonstration of NoiseWare vs ACR NR, using 100% crops of an image taken with the Nikon D200, 1/320 sec at f/2.8. The image is reasonably sharp at normal viewing conditions, but has quite a lot of luminance noise. It was rendered with ACR and the settings were exposure +0.85, brightness +60. One thing you learn early in this type of shooting is to expose to the right to reduce noise, but this may conflict with stopping action and reducing camera shake. More exposure would have helped this image, and one should try to avoid exposures requiring this amount of positive exposure adjustment.
The results are shown below, followed by some discussion. Other comments are welcome. Color noise is not prominent in this image and I left color NR at its default.
    ACR, No sharpening, no NR
ACR, Luminance NR 53, no sharpening
ACR, No NR, No sharpening, NoiseWare default, no sharpening
Noise reduction and sharpening are antagonistic processes. It is important that NR is applied before sharpening--you don't want to sharpen noise. Following NR there is an inevitable loss of detail, and some sharpening is necessary to restore the detail, but this also brings back the noise. One can use masks and blend if sliders in Photoshop in both NR and sharpening to mitigate some of these effects, and Bruce Fraser discusses the details in his excellent book on sharpening.
If you use an add on such as NoiseWare, you should turn off luminance sharpening in ACR. In doing so, you lose all those nifty sharpening features that have recently been added to ACR. I leave color NR at the default. It has a minimal effect on detail.
In adjusting the NR in ACR at 100% viewing, I estimated that a luminance setting of +53 was optimal. Beyond that, blotchy artifacts appear in the image.
For NoiseWarePro, I used the default settings with no sharpening. The NR effect is dramatic, but detail is lost and some sharpening is needed. This could be applied in NoiseWare or in Photoshop, perhaps with a plugin such as PhotoKit Sharpener. Personally, I have found that PK does not work well with this type of image because it bring back noise and produces artifacts.
In all of these examples, sharpening is needed following the NR. One could try to use surface masks to keep sharpening in Photoshop with the unsharp mask away from the edges. However, I find it is difficult to get a good surface mask, and I don't take the trouble.
For now, I use the sharpening built into NoiseWare. I don't know how it works internally, but it does have a slider for detail protection, and you can play with this to get the best result. It would be best to have the robust NR of the add ons built into ACR much like NoiseNinja is built into Bibble Pro. However, this is an ACR forum and I would expect that ACR is the preferred raw converter of those who frequent this forum.
After expending this much effort on the post, I hope to get some helpful feedback.

  • Third party spam filters

Mail's adaptive junk filter is being overwhelmed by the flood of email I'm getting at my email address. I can't abandon the address any time soon because I advertise it, and get new customers by email reply.
Is it possible to route my email to a commercial third party server, which will do a better job of identifying spam (with a minimum of false positives and false negatives) and then route it back to my usual mail server, or some similar arrangement?
If so, who do you recommend? Does it work that much better than Mail's adaptive junk filter?
    Thanks in advance,
    Tim

Third party message handlers like MessageLabs do a very good job at filtering mail, catching viruses, etc. , but I'm not sure how many of them offer services to individuals.
You might want to look at installing SpamSeive first. http://c-command.com/spamsieve/.
It gets good reviews and at $30 would be less expensive than paying a monthly fee to a service company.

  • Can I add a third party filter (ASFROC) to the filter sub-folder of Photoshop Elements 13?

I have been using a third party filter (Applied Science fiction R-O-C (now Kodak)) with Photoshop elements 9.  After upgrading to Elements 13 I would like to continue using the ASFROC plug-in filter.  Can I just add it to the Filter sub-folder in Elements 13?

I believe the problem is those filters are 32 bit filters and you most likely have the 64 bit version of photoshop elements 13.
The 64 bit version of pse 13 requires 64 bit filters, so you wouldn't be able to use the Kodak filters in pse 13
Which operating system are you using?
If windows, is your windows system 32 or 64 bit?
(the mac version of pse 13 is always 64 bit)

  • RED Workflow questions with Mac Pro (including third party plugins)

    Hello all,
I’ve been searching many forums for the better part of a day trying to get some workflow questions sorted. I’m experiencing (very) slow export times, and mediocre playback for a machine that should be screaming fast.
Here is what I’m working with:
    2014 Mac Pro
    -2.7 GHz 12-core intel xeon E5
    -64GB Ram
    -Dual AMD FirePro D700 6GB
    -1TB Flash Storage
Editing all footage off 96TB Raid 6 mini-sas server (getting about 1100mbs read/write rate according to AJA system test) which is faster than any Thunderbolt/TB2 drive array I have.
Media I work with is footage from the RED Epic (normally 5K) as well as DSLR footage from the 5d.
    Software:
    -PrPro CC 2014 (8.1)
    -Magic Bullet Looks 2.5.2
My question(s) pertains to RED post-pro workflow in combination with third party plug-ins and the different approaches to make it more efficient.
Right now, majority of the clients need a 1080p HD master, and they are generally anywhere from 2-8 minutes (usually). So my sequence settings are as follows:
    Video:
    Editing Mode: RED Cinema
    Size: 1920 x 1080
    Audio: 48Hz
    Video Previews
Preview File Format: I-Frame Only MPEG

    Maximum Render Quality unchecked

    Issues I have:
-Playback is fine at 1/2 or even full, but once effects (especially magic bullet looks) start to go on the clips, it’s very choppy and has difficult playback at 1/4
-Export times (especially with magic bullet looks) will take the better part of 1-4 hours for a video that is 3-6 minutes long. This doesn’t seem like it should be the case for a maxed out MacPro
    So my questions are:
Do these seem like the right sequence/export settings for mastering at 1080p? If not, what would you suggest?
Would using offline editing help at all?
Do you place your effects on adjustment layers?
Is there anyway to improve export settings when using an array of filters?
Have you stopped using third party plugins for their inefficiency in unreliability and switched to more integrated applications like SpeedGrade?
Is there any other tweaks that you would suggest for RED workflow with PrPro?
Should I consider switching to FCPX or (besides the iMovie-likeness) does it carry problems of its own?

    Hello all,
I’ve been searching many forums for the better part of a day trying to get some workflow questions sorted. I’m experiencing (very) slow export times, and mediocre playback for a machine that should be screaming fast.
The biggest issue is that most people have is that updating OS X causes certain folders to be set to Read Only. See this blog post: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later).

Here is what I’m working with:
    2014 Mac Pro
    -2.7 GHz 12-core intel xeon E5
    -64GB Ram
    -Dual AMD FirePro D700 6GB
    -1TB Flash Storage
It's a nice base system. How about an additional speedy disk for media cache files. You also did not mention which version of OS X you are running.

The Red Giant website does not indicate that this software is yet updated to work with Premiere Pro CC 2014.1 (8.1). Proceed with caution here.

I would not use this plug-in until you get the OK from the manufacturer.

    Again, I suspect your plug-in.
Keep in mind that exports are largely CPU based but you can make sure that GPU acceleration is enabled for AME at the bottom of the Queue panel.

    It's OK.

No need when you should be able to edit natively. Relinking might also be an issue.
    thisisironclad wrote:

That's one way you can do it with the benefit of being more organized.
    thisisironclad wrote:

    I do. Of course, that's a preference.

    Try the following:
Sign out from Creative Cloud, restart Premiere Pro, then sign in
    Update any GPU drivers
    Trash preferences
Ensure Adobe preference files are set to read/write(Hopefully you checked this out already)
    Delete media cache
    Remove plug-ins
If you have AMD GPUs, make sure CUDA is not installed
    Repair permissions
    Disconnect any third party hardware
If you have a CUDA GPU, ensure that the Mercury Playback Engine is set to CUDA, not OpenCLYou have AMD GPUs.
    Disable App Nap
    Reboot

I really shouldn't answer that question.
    Hope this helps.

  • SSL - Installing Third party secure certificates

    Hi,
I am having problem while importing third party secured certificates (Verisign).
In STRUST, after import It was still saying Self-Signed message for third party certificates. I am not sure weather this is correct behavior or not.
After launch browser, the certificate status showing with message
"This CA Root certificate is not trusted because it is not in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store."
Please help me to solve this issue. Any other procedure we need to follow to import third party certificates
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Srinivas

I'm guessing, you'll need to download the Verisign Trusted Root CA certificate from verisign.com and import it into your certificate list in STRUSTSSO2. Under the System PSE node.
If you doubeclick the response certificate from Verisign, you may be able to see what is heirarchy / trust chain for verisign certs. If it's more than just root, cert, you'll probably need to add the intermediate certs too. Check out verisign link, maybe it'll explain better.
    https://www.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-support/page_dev028341.html
Also is the self signed message on teh SSL Server PSE node, or the server node? it shouldn't say self-signed if it's the (as example below) sapserver_sid_00 node.
    SSL Server

    Hope that helps.

  • Connecting to third-party router, but unable to browse or e-mail

I am using an Airport Extreme card in my PowerBook G4 running firmware version 405.1 (3.90.34.0.p18). Our office Wi-Fi access is through a third-party router. We used to use MAC address filtering, and I had no problem accessing the network.
Recently, for reasons unclear to me, our IT director ditched the MAC address filtering in favor of the WPA-personal standard. I was able to enter the encryption key and get connected to the network, but I wasn't able to get my browser to access the internet, nor send or receive e-mail traffic.
Our IT folks temporarily disabled all security and restarted the wireless router, but I was still only able to connect to the router, and not use my browser or e-mail, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the use of WPA per se. I tried temporarily turning off my own firewall, too, but the problem remained.
Oddly, I can open up the Terminal and Ping successfully to an outside address -- only http and e-mail traffic seems to be blocked. The Windows-based PCs seem to be able to connect to the wireless network and use their browsers to access the internet without any problem. Any thoughts as to what else I might try, or have the IT administrators try, to resolve the problem?
    Thanks,
    Sid

Hello kilgores. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Something to ask your IT staff is if they use a proxy server for Internet access. If so, do they require proxy configuration scripts (.pac) to provide access to the Internet through your company's firewall. This information would normally be added to your browser's settings.
For Safari: Preferences... > Advanced > Proxies > Change Settings... > Automatic Proxy Configuration

  • How to use message queue for inegrating third party with EBS

    Hi Experts,
We would like to integrate a third party system with EBS using message queues.
Where we will subscribe to a businnes event and which will populate the messages to messages queue.
But how can we deque this message in third party systems. We are in R12.1.3 and no FMW installed.
Any adapater or something is availabe, If so please throw some inputs.
    Thanks

    Please go to the link

and also see the "message filtering" section.
    Where you can find
Exposing message selection hints in the header portion of a message is a common tactic when multiple receiving apps are pointed at the same queue. The application that is best suited to handling a given message type can harvest just the messages it needs, while other applications can act on messages better suited for them. Administratively, it is more efficient to set up one queue (with multiple receivers accessing it) than to set up multiple queues, each with a dedicated receiver. My question is how can I achieve this Via progamatically ?
