Third-party FrameMaker Resources
Some resources for you to checkout. These are not necessarily endorsed by anyone, myself included. Indeed, caveat emptor. These are third party with not necessarily any ties to or acceptance from Adobe.
Proceed at your own peril . . ..
Single-sourcing and Online Help
http://www.webworks.com--Quadralay WebWorks Publisher Pro accepts native binary FrameMaker files (*.book and *..fm)
http://www.omsys.com--Mif2Go, accepts FrameMaker ASCII files (*.mif)
http://www.ehelp.com--RoboHelp, accepts FrameMaker ASCII files (*.mif)
http://www.author-it.com--Author-IT accepts FrameMaker ASCII files (*.mif).
Everything else, including Component One's Doc-to-Help(
http://www.componentone.com), usually require you convert FrameMaker to RTF and use the RTF in the HAT.

Registering a third party XAResource with WLS TM
The WebLogic 6.x documentation for registering third party XA resources
contains the following code snippet: -
XAResource res = ... // Resource provider's implementation of XAResource
How do you get a providers implementation?
Where is this documented?
7.0 is great however there are those of us out here who have spent hundreds of
thousands of dollars using weblogic 6.x and are struggling through getting 2pc
to work with different vendors. I would strongly suggest that BEA provide
detailed documentation which consists of the following for 6.1 and greater and
not put off till tomorrow solving the problems we as your customers have today
Detailed setup information for
1. IBM MQ
2. Firano
3. Sybase
4. Oracle
5. MS SQL Server
With examples which work I mean full examples which show the following:
1. Using JDBC to update a dbms on one connection pool and
having a message sent to another XA resource which is persistent
all part of a single transaction
2. Using two connection pools two different servers doing simple
updates/inserts using a single transaction
3. Specific version numbers tested I know for sybase you mention their
JConnect 5.2.1 but there is only 5.2 with EBF's and 5.5 with EBFs
which specific sybase server version not just 12.x but 12.x with the
following
EBF's applied same for jdbc driver with complete example.
It seems some of the more complicated operations are the least documented
which is the inverse of what we as users would expect.
We have spent probably 8-9 days with our dbas and myself trying to get item
#2 above to work. Rob Wollen has helped in that it seems my sybase config is
correct on weblogic but we still havent solved the problem. Perhaps it wont
work
with Sybase Jconnect 5.2 or 5.5 with 12.0 version of their product??
I had also opened up a case back last october which totally was non-productive.
So please please dont wait on new versions to fix documentation issues which
are present today.
thanks Larry

Third Party (Garnishment) checks - RFC destination error
We have an issue with our testing of Third Party Garnishment checks. We have a split system, with our HCM system residing separately from the remaining ECC modules.
We are getting an error in regards to the printing of the checks in A/P.
The posting is working fine
the vendor account is cleared
However, It’s not creating a check # or check form.
We can do other check runs in this client fine; it’s just the 3PR runs that cause the error.
The text of the error message is as follows: An RFC destination could not be specified for the logical system HPQCLNT210.
We have exhausted our resources here looking into the RFC connection and the partner profile and we cannot find anything wrong with them.
Can someone offer suggestions on what else we could check? Thanks so much.Hi David,
Did you check below is set-up correctly.
- Use transaction SM59 to create an RFC destinations for the remote system.
- Use transaction BD54 to create the logical system.
- Use transaction BD97 to link the RFC destination created in SM59 with the logical system created in BD54.
Also, check entries in TBLSYSDEST is filled with correct system name HPQCLNT210. Generally this error occurs when system name is incorrect in TBLSYSDEST.
Thanks,

My wife has been having problems with Safari, and many third party software and malware programs infecting her Mac Book Pro. I have tried to reset Safari but it keeps coming back, taking over Safari, changing defaults, start pages, and search engines, Etc.
Is it safe to use programs like MacKeeper, who keeps send my wife's computer message and alerts, or should I just wipe the drive and start over?
SkipI am having lot's of lag time with Safari, etc..

How to raise customer invoice in case of third party sale from PS
Dear All,
In case of third party sale from project systems module, PR is raised which is further converted to PO and once the material reaches at client place GRN is done.Based upon the GRN the actual cost is booked to the project.How should I raise the customer invoice against the materials received by the customer?
I went through the Forum and based upon the threads there, I came to know that one option is to create sales order for the same items and do order based billings.But for this I have to enter the same materials items again in the Sales order which is nothing but duplicacy of data.
Is there any alternative to this? Or some other way by which the PO line items be copied to sales order so that I can save time while creating sales order.
Regards,
B P SinghHi Virendra,
Business scenario is like this.
I have created project and activities.Have assigned materials as 3rd party sale in NWA. I have released the project.PR are getting followed by PO.On doing the GR the actual costs are getting booked on NWA.
My concern is how to bill the Items(the same material components) which are assigned to activity.
As per your input I need to do Resource Related billing.Thanks for the input.It is no longer required to assign materials in DIP to Carry out RRB.
To carry out RRB do I need to create Sales Order first ? If No then how to do RRB? If Yes I need to create a Sales Order with all the material components which I have assigned at activity level. So I was looking for some alternative so that SO creation becomes less tedious.

Using 11.2 clusterware to protect third party apps
Has anyone successfully used CRS to protect third party applications?
Has anyone successfully used the scripts from the 11.2 Clusterware Reference manual, B-15, to test CRS with xclock or Apache?
After registering the resource and verifying status within CRS, crsctl start res xclock generates the following messages;

Edited by: user8948362 on May 7, 2010 12:10 PMHi all, i have solved the problem. It was because of an erratic editing technique of the script. Infact, we edited the script on a PC, using NOTEPAD++, and transferred the script via binary FTP to AIX.
This introduced some abnormal characters inside the script.
Instead, by using VI editor on AIX, it works fine. -
Third party tool which can create infosets in SAP R/3
Hi All, Is there any third party tool that could create infosets in ECC for reporting.We integrated crystal reports with ECC and want to create queries using infosets and make use of BAPI's. There are several 100's of reports to be developed and we are afraid we might make mistakes when we have to join all the tables in ECC during infoset creation. We are hoping to find a third party tool that could do this or has infosets that could be used.
Hi Aparna,
Go thru the link which may be useful

Issue with Third Party Adapter for custom JCA Connector in Oracle 11g.
Hi,
For a proof of concept, I have created my own JCA Connector. I have deployed this connector in Weblogic and it works as expected.
Now I am trying to call the JCA Connecter from the SOA Bus. For this I have create a SCA Composite with a simple Web Service to expose the composite, a Third Party Adaptor to wrap the JCA Connector and a Mediator to wire the Web Service and the Third Party Adapter together. For the Third Party Adapter I have created both the needed *.wsdl and _3P.jca file my self. The problem is that I could not find any documentation about the _3P.jca file, and it looks like it that this file is new for 11g.
After some puzzling and debugging I am able to deploy the SCA Composite with the Third Party Adapter. Though when I test the exposed Web Service with the Enterprise Manager I get errors and a stack trace. The problem is that the Record Converter I have created receives the default XMLRecord implementation (oracle.tip.adapter.fw.record.XMLRecordImpl) and not the implementation of the XMLRecord I have created my self.
So the question is does anybody know how to configure the Third Party Adapter so that it will use my custom implemenation of the XMLRecord interface (oracle.tip.adapter.api.record.XMLRecord) instead of the default implementation of the XMLRecord (oracle.tip.adapter.fw.record.XMLRecordImpl).
I would suspect that it should be configured in the _3P.jca file, though I don't know how. The following is the content of the current _3P.jca file I am using.
<adapter-config name="DiskAdapter" adapter="Disk Adapter" wsdlLocation="JCADiskConnector.wsdl"
xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
<record-converter className="com.osc.jcaadapter.convert.DiskRecordConverter"/>
<connection-factory location="jndi/diskcf" adapterRef=""/>
<endpoint-interaction operation="Send" portType="Send_ptt">
<use-record-converter addonNamespace="http://somecomp.com/DiskAdapter"/>
<interaction-spec className="com.osc.jcaadapter.impl.DiskInteractionSpecImpl">
<property name="FunctionName" value="do-it"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
</adapter-config>So I am hoping that some one knows how you should configure the Third Party Adapter so it uses my own implementation of the XMLRecord interface.Hi Simeon,
That is a good suggestion, and I would certainly try to do that if I was not making a proof of concept. It would solve my problem of not getting the sub class of the XMLRecord.
Though for making my proof of concept I found a 10g example that used sub classes of the XMLRecord, and that is why I wanted to get the same example to work on 11g.
The alternative of passing a parameter through with InteractionSpecs, is an interesting though can not solve this problem. I don't have a problem with the javax.resource.cci.Record, I can determine the implementation of that in the conversion class it self.
The problem is the XMLRecord generated by the Oracle SOA Adapter Framework, some how I need a way to influence that to generate the correct implementation of the XMLRecord.
So your post is certainly helpfull if I was not trying to get this specific problem to work :).
But I am afraid that I will end up in implementing your sugestion.
Regards
Maikel.

Third-Party libs in deployment archive
Hello!
I have a question - is it possible to add the third-party libs in .zip format in APP-INF/lib directory of my "ear" ? As far as I can see, WebLogic does not recognize it to be a java class archive.
ThanksHi,
If this is an issue of having the class files inside a zip or a jar file, then just rename the .zip to .jar, as a jar file is just a zip with a different extension.
If this is about a limitation on WL, then AFAICT, there is nothing in the standard that mandates that a zip file should be treated as a jar file from the ClassLoader point of view (but just when loading classes, not when looking for resources.)

Third party payload installer DistillrStarter.exe failed with exit code: 1603
I need to reinstall FrameMaker 11 after a system crash. At 99% of the installation process, I get the following message.
(For my understanding, downloading a new DistillrStarter.exe should solve the issue.
The file is for creating Japanese PDFs. I do not even need it. :-)

from the notifications, IMHO, FrameMaker installation failed because of a corrupt DistillrStart.exe file in the installer.
What I did not know, in the installation options, I could disable PDF maker.
I do not need this module, that is already installed with Acrobat Pro on my system.
In the support chat, I was not pointed to this, either. Although I asked if I really had to uninstall
all Adobe software from my system before re-installing, even Acrobat...
Thank God, my company's administration remembered this issue from a previous installation.
Best regards,

Third party logistics (TPL) Urgent
Hello everyone,
Can anyone help me with third party logistics (maintaining). To my understanding from:
"A third-party logistics provider (abbreviated 3PL) is a firm that provides outsourced or "third party" logistics services to companies for part or sometimes all of their supply chain management function. Third party logistics providers typically specialize in integrated warehousing and transportation services that can be scaled and customized to customers needs based on market conditions and the demands and delivery service requirements for their products and materials."(Resource: Wikipedia)
Cont: 3PL manages all the inventory of an organization (Warehouse management), maintaining handling units, packing the finished products, optimize routing and ship the finished products to customers. so, generally they stay next to manufacturing plant and carry out these activities. So, I'm comfortable in MM,WM and LE cycles. Can anyone help me what would be the difference from regular cycles as all the items are shipped through a seperate organization (Third party) . It would be great if some one explains it in the form of a scenario and various configurations involved and process flow (PO, GR and GI)
Hoping for a positive response from you, I take leave
Thanks & Regards,
Gandluri SrinivasHi,
I have worked on exactly this scenario at Japanese electronics company in the UK. They used a third party transport company situated next door (in the same building).
The solution is to NOT do anything differently, do NOT use complex third party orders etc. simply use the same process that you would normally use but let the TPL users enter the transactions directly in SAP as if they were your own employees.
They can manage the consignments, deliveries, goods issues etc. they can also manage the stock movements.
You obviously have to be careful with the authorisations but this should all be manageable.
So basically design the processes as if your own users were doing this and just allow the TPL users to post the transactions and view the delivery due list etc.
It sounds dangerous but remember that they are only processing the receipts from YOUR POs and the goods issues for YOUR Sales orders.

Third party sales with real inventory movements
We need to define in SAP process for the following scenario: the company receives order from an affiliated company (its customer) and at that point purchases the goods from external vendors. The vendor sends the goods directly to the customer, but the company wants to record real goods receipt and goods issue with accounting entries. Moreover the company serves as internal purchasing department for the group of affiliated companies and they want the employees of the end client to be able to record in SAP their order in order to have approval process in SAP.
What is the best way to configure that so data is entered only once and converts autpomatically from SO to PO or from PO to SO? I was thinking to create first SO that would automatically create PR, which would get converted to PO, but how to do the approval process?Hi,
For third party sap has provided TAS item category, wherein when you create a order, a PR will be created and then a PO.
This PO will go to the vendor and who in turn send the goods directly to the customer.
The vendor sends us the POD and invoice by which we can do the Goods receipt and invoice receipt in SAP.
Now here with help of a MM resource you can map the scenario by which you can do the GR and also show the necessary accounting entries etc. with help of FI resource.
I am not sure what approval process you are talking about... Plz elaborate so that we can help you out.

SB
