Third-Party iTunes Spam

Yesterday I received an e-mail message from a company touting iTunes. It appears that company has no official relationship with Apple. I forwarded the e-mail to every spam-handling address that I know about, but I couldn't figure out how to report this to Apple. Does anyone know of a way to do that?

  • Third party iTunes software

I am seeking a FREE iTunes software system that will work on a Mac running 9.2.2. Please tell me where I can find this FREE iTunes software.
It's best to send the information direct to [email protected] since I usually vist these forum pages every six months, and I need the FREE iTunes software NOW!!!

If you haven't already, try looking through the Apple Downloads specifically for iTunes.
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/ipod_itunes/
There might be something there that is at least similar to the app your looking for.
edit: There is one shareware that is an iTunes plugin called Multi-tunes. With it you can create multiple iTunes libraries, one library called "Main" one called "Bootlegs" etc, and Multi-Tunes will allow you to quickly switch between them from within the iTunes window. Not exactly what your looking for but close.

  • How to uninstall third-party visualizers on iTunes?

To be specific I cannot uninstall the visualizer "Cubism". It required that I put a qtz file (Cubism) into a folder called "Compositions" (already provided for in the little window you open from the dmg) and then drag it into ~/Library/Compositions. I didn't like it, so I deleted the "Compositions" folder in the Compositions folder in the Library. Now, it still appears in the visualizer menu in iTunes and still works for some reason. I searched all my files for "Cubism" or "Compositions" but I can't find them anywhere. Can anyone help me?

    Hi kroppin,
See if it is in one of these folders and remove it from there.

I thought the easiest thing to do was to restore so I tried to syn my apps onto itunes so I wouldn't loose them.  However it won't let me sync the apps onto iTunes.  It ill allow me to syn the old version when I just started but since then I have bought a dozen other apps.  Can anyone help.  thanks

I had all of my apps and music stored in iTunes, I updated to the newest 9.2 iTunes and did a 4.0 update to my iPhone 3G all the while not noticing that EVERYTHING IN iTUNES was GONE. When I got done updating my iPhone it was late so i went to bed... Next day came back to sync everything and thats when I saw it was all gone...

  • How do I integrate Configurator and iPad Electronic Flight Bags with applications that utilize a third-party license and subscription that is outside of iTunes?

I am the EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) Manager for a small aviation company that are using 10 iPad with Retina Display as approved in-cockpit EFBs.  Our plan is to configure and manage these iPad EFBs with Apple Configurator 1.3.  We also use 2 third-party applications for charts, aviation weather, and other aviation functions that depend on a seperate license and subscription with the vendor outside of iTunes.  What I am finding through my new education in Configurator is that there does not seem to be a way to maintain the subscription status with those two applications.  Is there a way to isolate those two programs from Configurator control?  Better yet, is there a way to integrate them with Configurator without losing the subscription status and loss of huge amounts of data that are on a regular, FAA regulatory update schedule?  Configurator is awesome at managing iTunes managed applications and is perfect for our company.  I need to figure out how to make Configurator work with a subscription-based application.  Please help!

Here is what is surmise reading ForeFlight web site.
There is the app and the data.
You manage the app through configurator or some other MDM.   The acquiring and paying for the data is independ of the configurator. You can buy the data through the app or online.  You may want to buy online. This way you can do the buying independent of the ipad. Once you have purchased, the app will download the data.  You may have to tell it to procedure with download panel.
Some people use configurator to install mdm app then do the rest of the configuration from MDM.  This allows wifi updates of configuration.
You end up with managing apps from MDM. You manage with your data from from the online account.  You enter appropriate password on each ipad to gain access to the data. App will download your data.  My need to tell it what to download in app.
How do I buy a subscription?
Purchasing a subscription is fast and easy! You can purchase a subscription online or inside the app using your iTunes account.
To purchase a subscription inside the app, launch ForeFlight Mobile and then tap the 'Account' icon. You'll see a list of available plans to purchase in the 'Subscription Plans' table. Tap the one you want to buy. Follow the instructions for entering your email address and iTunes password. When the purchase is complete, you'll receive confirmation inside the app and immediately be able to continue using ForeFlight Mobile.
To purchase a subscription online, visit our secure online ordering page. You'll be asked to choose a plan and enter your credit card information. After your purchase is complete, you'll receive an email with a password to sign into the app on your phone or iPad.

How do I update charts, plates, and the airport database?
ForeFlight Mobile has a download manager designed to make selecting, downloading, and updating your data easy- whether you like to store a little or a lot. Tap the Downloads icon from within the ForeFlight Mobile app. The Download Manager allows you to select the types of items you want to download and store on your device. ForeFlight Mobile will contact our servers and display the available updates. If you download updates that are not yet effective (future data sets) they will automatically be used by the software when they become effective. The download manager lets you pause a download and resume it later.

  • ITunes 12 and third party apps

We have a couple third party apps that have been integral to our iTunes media management:
iRingtones -- convenient tool for creating ringtones from media registered with iTunes library
    TuneUp -- cleanup album art
Neither of these works with iTunes 12. I realize Apple doesn't have any control over third party apps, but users should be aware that many of these will no longer function once you upgrade to iTunes 12.
If anyone has tips on how to get either of these apps working -- or any other for that matter -- feel free to post here.

Thought I should post this response I got from TuneUp support on Oct. 29 :

    Hello,
    Thank you for your message.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

  • Upgraded to iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 4 -- all of my third-party apps missing

I'm not exactly sure where the issue came from, but I somehow lost all of my apps as I upgraded to iTunes 9.2 and the iPhone 4 today. But I figured out what happened and *I have the solution*, which I'd like to share...
This occurred on June 24, 2010 (iPhone 4 launch day). The steps I took to upgrade to iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 4 were as such:
    1) I did a full sync and backup of my iPhone 3GS with iTunes 9.1.
    2) I upgraded iTunes 9.1.x.xx to iTunes 9.2.0.61 (the first version compatible with iPhone 4).
    3) I activated my new iPhone 4 and set it up based on my 3GS's back up data.
    4) When it was done setting up the iPhone 4, I noticed that all of the native apps and their app data were intact, but I was missing all of my third-party app store apps. Note that all the apps on my 3GS were obviously still intact.
    5) I noticed that I had zero apps in the iTunes library (at the top left under "Library"). Thus, with my 3GS plugged in, I right clicked on the iPhone in iTunes under "Devices" and selected "Transfer Purchases". This transferred all of the apps on my 3GS to the iTunes library.
    6) I plugged in my iPhone 4, and noticed that on the "Apps" tab under "Devices / iPhone name", the "Sync Apps" box was unchecked. So I checked it, and it gives you a scary message saying that all of the apps in the iTunes Library (which I had just populated in step 5) will overwrite the app data on your iPhone. I didn't have any app data on my iPhone 4, so I clicked "OK". All of the apps transferred from the iTunes Library to my iPhone 4 with all of the app data (game saves, etc) intact.
So that's my solution. I'm sure this must be happening to other people. My main piece of advice is: after upgrading to iTunes 9.2 and syncing your old phone for the last time, make sure you have apps in your App Library and "Sync Apps" is checked. If not, follow the steps above.
This same issue also happened to my friend, but he doesn't have his old iPhone 3GS to restore the app data from. If anyone has any suggestions as to how he can save his app data, please let me know. Thanks.
    Craig

  • Is there any third party software for itunes that will do this:

Is there any third party software for itunes that will organize the browser window. Ideally I would like the third browser window (album name) organized by "main albums" "compilations" "bootlegs" "singles"
It would look like this for the Beatles
    Main
    1963 Please Please Me
    1965 Help
    etc.
    Compilations
    1970 Red Album
    1990 Greatest Hits
    etc.
    Bootlegs
    1985 Ultratrax 1
    etc.
    CD Singles
    1999 Whatever
This info would be marked on either the info or option tab when labeling.
If this has not been made, one of you nerds should make it, it would be great and you could charge $3 for it and I buy it. and so would 100,000 other people.

  • Third party spam filters

Mail's adaptive junk filter is being overwhelmed by the flood of email I'm getting at my email address. I can't abandon the address any time soon because I advertise it, and get new customers by email reply.
Is it possible to route my email to a commercial third party server, which will do a better job of identifying spam (with a minimum of false positives and false negatives) and then route it back to my usual mail server, or some similar arrangement?
If so, who do you recommend? Does it work that much better than Mail's adaptive junk filter?
    Thanks in advance,

Third party message handlers like MessageLabs do a very good job at filtering mail, catching viruses, etc. , but I'm not sure how many of them offer services to individuals.
You might want to look at installing SpamSeive first. http://c-command.com/spamsieve/.
It gets good reviews and at $30 would be less expensive than paying a monthly fee to a service company.

  • Itunes - third party creations/utilities?

is there any third party software to help clean up your music library. I've somehow totally f'ed my up when trying to back up to a usb drive. my lib lost all of my music even though the files were still there. so i replaced the files so now my library is entirely duplicates and even worse the music files that play are the new ones (obviously) and do not have star ratings - no way do i have to redo over 4000 ratings? So those are my two probs - duplicates in general and duplicates with no ratings.
Somebody out there must have written something to let you mess with your itunes music library?

yes, consolidate lib and show duplicates were my first choices for a solution. But it turns out that while they're related to the problem, they cannot address it directly.
i just downloaded the trial of itunify. im guessing that if it doesnt have a fix, nothing will. thankyou for the suggestion. im optimistic that it will serve my needs just fine. cheers

  • ITunes cant sync music. Third party applications can.

So i posted a discussion ages ago about iTunes not being able to sync my music. I have tried 5 PC's with different Windows OS's and even some Mac Machines. Before iOS7 it worked fine, then the beta was used and it did not work since even having wiped the phone and used the public release.
Anything that could narrow down the issue would be nice. It just syncs and sits on 'waiting for items to copy' and then just times out. Phone loses the whirling arrows and then iTunes gets stuck in 'Cancelling Sync' which it never does and needs force closing. Same exact issue on all PC's.
MediaMonkey - Same music, same PC, same cable and same phone... Works fine. All 3800 songs.
So my question to you all is, why can iTunes no longer sync my music yet third party applications can...? (they use the iTunes mobile device drivers)
Trying to contact apple when outside of warranty is near impossible without paying. This was broken before my warranty expired but didnt have the time to go down. They also just removed my question for some reason so posting it again.

I see that there is only one copy of backup data saved (for what possible reason????)
Because the considered view is that you will be keeping regular backups of your computer in general which would keep these 'last backups' that way. Thats what Time Machine on the Mac does.
So I'm hosed. iTunes not only deleted my apps (presumably an iTunes bug)
Its not a bug - you deleted the content of the phone presumably.
but I read on one forum where someone had re-synced and got his apps back.
Correct, by following the instructions which instruct you to disable automatic synce before restoring to stop the autosync overwriting the last backup.
I tried that and in the process it automatically deleted my good backup I guess.
No, you didnt do it correctly, but don't panic. All free Apps can be downloaded again as can all purchased Apps as long as you log in with your original iTunes account. They will all come back just fine.
This seems really like a really dumb way to do it, Apple.
Not really - the instructions are quite explicit but reading them after the event or not at all is even dumber.
    Get downloading those Apps again

I want to be able to print a CD label from a song list I burnt to CD in iTunes. Is there a third party software that will let me do this since iTunes won't?

    Hi,
If you wish to merely transfer files, one idea could be to have one ftp or web server on each machine, and then use appropriate clients (ftp programs or web browsers).
TCP/IP software is available under System 7.5.5. The 8100/100 can use standard RJ-45 Ethernet cabling via a suitable adapter for AAUI-15 (such as the Apple Ethernet Twisted-Pair Transceiver M0437).
For the Mac, the now free program NetPresenz could perhaps be of interest as a server solution.

  • Third-party books disappeared EVERYWHERE! Only iTunes books were left.

Hello, I've had a big wonderful library of books, which were downloaded not from iTunes, in my Itunes books folder.
After updtating to Mavericks and using new iBook on my Mac, everything that wasn't concidered to be from Itunes was deleted, and disappeared on all my devices.
All the books mysteriously disappeared in my "books" folder; however, the only things that were left were PDFs and "Purchased" from iTunes books.
If Apple made easy adding "Third-party books" for people, why is Apple making bugs in order to make people byuing stuff on iTunes?
What if books were purchased on other online stores because it's cheaper, and Apple deleted all that using "iBooks"--useless MacApp--, who is going to pay for all that?
Why can't we use iTunes App anymore for books syncing and automatic book import to my "books" folder in "iTunes Media" folder?
I think soon Apple is going to be attempting on our "Third-party" music, movies, etc.

    Sorry about your loss.
I've about given up on iBooks on all my platforms.  I have Calibre on the Mac, which is capable of converting lots of formats to epub (which iBooks can use) and then using Stanza on my iPad as a reader.  I complete the sync using Files on the iPad/Phone, but I think that Calibre can also sync directly.  The Tech support folks for Files say it won't be updated in the future, so you stand the risk that it won't work at some point, but for now, it's a great solution for me.

  • Transfer third party music to itunes

how can I transfer my third party music from my Nano to iTunes music library

If you haven't already got the music on your computer and/or on a backup then you will need to find a third-party program (iTunes will only copy iTunes purchases via File > Transfer Purchases) - do a search on here and/or on google and you will probably find some mentioned.
