Third party job scheduler?

We need to outbound BW data through Open Hub service to the target SQL server, and we need to set up the handshake mechanism between Open Hub and SQL server. To manage this, we are thinking about delveloping a custom ABAP code on BW to process the handshake flags, including check the upstream and downstream system status, and update the status.
Now we are looking for the job scheduler which is able to trigger the ABAP program on BW. Eventually, this scheduler will run the routine certain times a day, on going.
It seems Tidal, as we are using now, has to manage through the trigger file. Is there any other better job scheduler available, which can call ABAP program from BW process chain and from SQL server without intermediate trigger file?

SavyPoint
TIDAL is the good one you could also try "Autosys".

  • Third party Job Scheduling?

    Hi P6 Guru.
Our customer is looking for the solution of job scheduling to control the jobs for P6 Web services API programs with other Web services programs outside P6. Some jobs would be triggered by scheduled date&time, some would be triggered by success states of predecessor jobs.
IBM Tivoli workload scheduler(TWS), HP OpenView are what I can image easily for the solution. But I'm wondering it is popular to use such kind of system.
Do you have any experiences or idea about how you or your customers control the job scheduling of running tasks or programs?

AppWorx, now UC4, is one possibility but there is little, if anything, they can do that can not be done through the proper use of the DBMS_SCHEDULER package.
I would suggest that, before you spend or waste money, you look at the docs on DBMS_SCHEDULER and determine that there is something you need that you have not already purchased. Using OEM to schedule jobs is far from giving you access to the full functionality.

    Hello,
We have tried using OEM Job and now want to also look at third party Job Scheduling applications. Please advice of such other products. Was thinking of AppWorks. Thank you.

  • Scheduling third party sales orders in APO

    Dear Experts,
    Scenario:
Sales order with item category TAS (third party SAP standard) triggers a purchase requisition. The Preq calls ECC ATP check and gets scheduled simply based on planned delivery time. The delivering plant is virtual and doesnu2019t hold inventory. An inbound delivery is the only receipt against which sales order can be confirmed if at all I care to do an ATP check.
This is a standard SAP third party scenario with ATP check. The material is shipped directly to the customer from vendor and invoice by the company.
    Requirement
This purchase requisition should be scheduled in APO.. Condition technique-trans. and shipment scheduling
The scheduled delivery date then should be updated to sales order schedule line.
My purpose is to schedule a delivery date based on lead times that are more conditional than the one from info record that just has a planned delivery time which is currently irrespective of customer.
    Other info
Customing for checking rules is CIFd. Material is in APO with checking group maintained. All basic config exists.
The Purch req is calling ATP check ONLY in ECC that shows a delivery date offset from requested delivery date.
Why scheduling in APO and why not ECC:
I want to make use of possibly trans lanes duration in the future. by maintained t/lanes from vendors to all ship to parties.
    Related question
Is TAS item category hardcoded not to call APO !
    Regards,
    Loknath

Meanwhile I read these consulting notes on third party item scheduling
210455- Confirmation of TAS items and
549364- FAQ's on scheduling of third party PO's
where SAP's design intent of PO/Preq scheduling is explained..that primarily comes from this hypothesis:
IF WE CANT CONTROL EXTERNAL VENDORS, WHY BOTHER SCHEDULING VENDOR's DATES.
Sounds like an archaic reasoning!! given we cannot practically confirm a reasonably good delivery date with albeit approximate assuming vendor has 100% materail on release date. The inforecord's planned delivery time as I mentioned is only so much...not destination specific (the vendor can potentially supply to customers across the globe with transit times varying from x to 10x)
The logic used for confirmation of third party orders based on PO scheduling is this
    Backward
Release date =Requested delivery date - purchasing department processing time - planned delivery time or
    Forward
Realistic delivery date =Current date + purchasing department processing time + planned delivery time
To help visualize I tried a scenario with sale order requested delivery date 3months out. The PO scheduling screen is NOT called. The order stands confirmed on requesed delivery date with the simple logic applied being
Requested delivery date = material availability date
My requirement still remains valid though.
I want to schedule TAS items in APO..using APO master data or condition technique.
I need to get a MAD date updated to the sales order schedule line for gettting a delivery date that is more conditional than info-record's planned delivery time. Not sure if this sounds technically consistent but requirement is reasonble !

  • MRP in third party scenario. System not creating schedule lines

    HI
I am using third party subcontracting scenario. As i am purchasing material but i am not taking material in under my company. I am paying to my vendor but the delivery is going to my subcontractor.
Here i am able to create planned order or purchase requisition. But MRP is not generating schedule lines for that vendor.
    Regards,
    Anand.

    Hello,
    Check the following settings.
    1. Source list active in Material master.
    2. Valididy of the source list.
    3. Any quota arrangement
    4. Purchase infor record.
Note: all are OK, but still PR's only created, then check for the requirement date, if the requirement date lies before the validity of the source list then also system will create only purchase requisitions.
for this calculation you have to check the lead time for procurement cycle you have to check. Based on this no. of days only system will try to create the procurement proposals.
If the lead time is very high and this is going beyond the sourcelist validity, then also PR's only created.
So there are so many possibilities. check for the above said things and revert back.
    regards,

  • What Third Party Software to Modify Time Machine Backup Schedule?

    Hello -
I was hoping to get some suggestions to what third party tool to use that will allow me to change the timing of backups from the regular hour intervals. As far as I know that cannot be changed in Time Machine and am looking for suggestions of software that will allow me to modify the schedule.
    Thanks in advance...

    Katie 'OConnell wrote:
This may be so, but Time Machine DOES say that it will continue backing up files until the hard disk is FULL. That could be a problem if one doesn't have a massive HD that can be dedicated exclusively to this activity, nor tons of money to purchase extra HDs so that Time Machine can back up to its heart's content.
Frankly, I don't need hourly backups and would prefer to eliminate those altogether.
The hourly backups don't really add much space, since they're only kept for a day, but they do protect you better. If you back up less frequently, you can lose more when (not if) your internal HD fails, or something else awful happens to your Mac.
And there's a much better chance of recovering a previous version of a file that you change or delete in error (ever do "Save" instead of "Save As"?), or that somehow gets corrupted.
As noted on the Time Machine Preference window, after 24 hours, it keeps one backup per day (the first) for a month, then one per week as long as there's enough space. After that, it automatically deletes the oldest backup(s) to make room for new ones.
It varies widely, of course, depending on how you use your Mac, but Time Machine usually needs 2-3 times the space of the data it's backing-up to keep several months, or more, of backups.
By the way, if you're mixing other data with your backups, in the same partition, that's going to be a problem sooner or later, but it's easily avoided by partitioning it. See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).

  • Route Schedule in Third Party Orders

We have made the necessary setting for the determination of Route and Route Schedule, but unfortunately the route schedule is not getting picked in the Third party order, but it works wonderfully with outbound delivery orders...
Is there any other setting to trigger the RS for 3rd party orders? or is it that SAP doesnt support RS for 3rd party orders as there is no actual delivery happening?
    Regards
    Raj

    Dear Babu,
As, in Third-Party Orders, theres is no Material-Movement (shipping) from Plant; Route Schedule will not be applicable. Customer places an order on to you and you have placed an order to your vendor, who will directly deliver the goods to your customer.
    Best Regards,
    Amit.
Note: A very informative thread, on to Route-Schedule:

  • Route is not considering in delivery scheduling for Third party order proce

We need to consider the route in the delivery scheduling for third party order processing..
    Example
i have standard order (document type OR)  when i have item cat TAN its considering the route for ariving the material availability date, if it has TAS(third party) then its not considering the route......
But we want to consider the route in deliver scheduling in case of third party order...
    kindlly pls advice..
    regards
    raja

    Hi Viven.,
Routes they come under normal order as we deliver the goods, but here in TAS,third party sale we are not delivering the goods,Just there is logical moment i.e MIGO,So i dont think we do routes for TAS

  • Account assignment in schedule line category for third party sale

in settings for schedule line category CS -for third party sales, in the field Account Assignment category we assign X-all auxiliary account assignment.
what is the purpose and reason for using account assignment category in third party and at what point of time this comes into picture in third party sales process

    Hi Sudha A,
Procureement against customer requirement will be booked against cost or expense account. So when creating PO, this account assignment category is determination factor for respective G/L accounts in MM.
    - Account assignment category will have general modification assigned. in MM account determinatoin OBYC settings-
Valuation group code(this needs to be confirmed) + General Modification + valuation class determines G/L account.
This is how G/L account will be displayed in PO - item level - account assignment tab.
To see the settings in account assignment category - check the help of the field & choose customization & observe in details.
    Hope it clears,

  • Third Party Tool for Scheduling Web Analysis reports

    Hello,
I am using Hyperion Web Analysis for report development and Workspace for viewing reports.
Now, I am facing an issue for scheduling WA reports through Workspace. Few experts told to me, we can't schedule a web Analysis document in workspace. But, scheduling is my urgent and important requirement.
Can anybody suggest me how can i go for scheduling?
Whether i need to go for third party scheduling tool? If yes, Then which one?
    Thanks

WA is for online report only and does not support report delivery and scheduling. Convert your WA reports to IR. Since 9.3.1 IR connectivity to Essbase has been improved (see CubeQuery).

  • Third party order processing with Scheduling agreements

    Gurus,
I have a situation here, i am working with a automobile industry and customer sends us EDI 830's (FSD and JIT schedules). we are using scheduling agreements (Doc type - LZ) to process those schedules. I have couple of parts that we dont manufacture and we ask our vendors to ship it direct to customer. i am trying to set up a third party order processing for this sceanario but system is giving me message that i cant use scheduling agreements. i tested with sales order and it worked fine with that. Is there any way to figure out solution with scheduling agreements. Any help will be appriciated.

    Hi Aman,
Scheduling agreements with delivery schedules are not supporte in third-party order processing.

  • Third Party Scheduling

    Greetings,
working at a customer site who is interested in using a third party tool Control-M to schedule the execution of business objects reports.
What kind of integration is required to accomodate this request?
    M

    Martin,
As a precurser, the scheduling of reports using third party tools is not supported since our product has that ability as a feature.  Having said that, I'll proceed with a little information on how it has been done.
An approach I have found on older forums was to create a java application that could be called from the command line.  Our JAVA SDK can be used for the actual scheduling.  I have some code that can be sent to you to work with.
If you are looking for an approach using something other than JAVA, then I can not be of assistance.  However, the .NET or com SDK may offer a similar solution.
In essence, Control-M can be used to fire off the java application to do the scheduling.  It seems like quite a bit of work to do something that can be done using the built in scheduling tools, but I may not know the full picture.
