Third-Party Media Player?

When I use my Curve 8320 to listen to music using its built in media player, I find that even the lowest (non-mute) volume level is too loud when heard through the headphones I'm using.  Maybe they're high-gain headphones.  Anyway, it would be nice to have a media player where the volume isn't quantized to such large intervals like it is in the default one so that I could turn it down without turning it off.  Can anyone recommend another media player?

I think you are in wrong forum. Try posting this question in Premiere elements disscussion forum. You will get answers there.

How does Flipboard integrate third party media into their application without violating copyrights, trademarks, or infringing on others property?
Besides getting permission from the network entity.

Like most news or website aggregators, it is basically an overblown web browser. AS long as the site origin is visible or stated, no copyright laws are broken. It is no different than using an RSS feed.

  • Third party DVD player issues

Recently, I have come across an issue playing back DVD's with
VLC or XBMC. When I start playback of the DVD, it plays the first
segment ( the studio leader at the beginning) and will then just quit.
Apple's DVD Player works fine (quality is crappy and can't get surround
tracks out of it). Yet, when the DVD is ripped to the hard drive and
played from there, it is works just fine.
Also, this happens when the DVD is played back from an internal
    or external drive.
Has anyone else seen this issue or do I have a unique problem?

My unit is a 2010 MacMini with HDMI. (see list)
The quality issues with Apple DVD player vs. other solutions are certain
scenes have a graininess akin to noise on old analog tv's that aren't
present on the other players and severe banding in gradients that
do not appear in other players, at least when they were working.
As far as the audio, selection in the DVD's menu itself just makes no difference.
Tried all the combinations of messing with Audio MIDI setup, third party
plugins like Perian, none of which work for Apple's DVD player. This was
the other reason for going to third party players, the higher quality video
    was just a bonus.
Your point has been taken that it may be a software issue with the third party players.
Some update at some point may have broken them, be it OSX or their own.
I've beaten the Apple DVD player issue enough, let's just consider the topic dead.
The audio issues with it are spread over many, many threads across the web, with
no silver bullet solution to all.
As for BluRays, play them back all the time on my Mini. Either with
    PowerDVD 10 in a Bootcamp windows7 when I want full DTS-HD or
TRUE HD decoding (decodes these to up to 24 bit,192kHz 7.1 since the
Mini chipset does not have the "protected" path for pass through of
these technologies) or a MakeMKV/XBMC combo in OSX. The OSX
solution doesn't give you the fancy menus and all or HD audio if present,
but if I only want to watch the movies it's fine. If I ever do want the other
nonsense, I just use PowerDVD 10. And please note this is BluRay disk
in player, not "ripped" or transcoded.
I do appreciate your help, but was primarily curious if others had issue
    as well.

  • How To Set Third Party Media App Is Default When Launched From Default File Manager

I use rock media player, which can encode & decode The Video and audio files i use, unlike the phone i have, i don't receive the option to set the app as the default media player. I would really like to be able to use this app on the thrive as it is some much a better media player than the thrives defaulty app. Rock player is the name of the app, who do set it as the default player when launched from the default file manager.

From my experience playing with the Thrive, when you attempt to watch a media file, it will open a menu asking you what application to use. From that popup, you can set a default.

  • Third Party DVD Player for MacIntel (not VLC)?

The only software I miss from my Windoze days is PowerDVD. It had many features like step-backward, multiple FF and REW speeds that were keyboard shortcut accessible (vs. Apple DVD player where you set one speed and that's it), screen capture, and it also did a better job of deinterlacing and introduces less "halos" and softening artifacts than Apple's DVD player (and yes, I've tried both with and without the deinterlacing setting enabled). It also zoomed to different resolutions better.
Is there anything analogous to that for Mac OSX, preferably a MacIntel native program? I've searched this forum and versiontracker and google and have come up empty. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to do the last resort, which is to Bootcamp my MBP in order to have one program.
    Thanks!

You can also manually adjust the video on Apple's built video player by going to the Window menu -> Video Zoom and unchecking lock aspect ratio if you want to customize it.
Try changing the scan rate in the Control menu in the menubar to affect color, as well as change video color in the Window menu of Apple's DVD Player. Often the built-in menus of commercial DVDs let you change the video settings that fit your desired color. If there is a specific commercial DVD that you are having trouble with, maybe I can rent it with Netflix and see if I see the problem you are seeing. It might take me a week to get it, but I'd be happy to experiment with it.
Apple's DVD Player also supports slow and faster play through its floating controller menu that is available via the Window menu -> Show Controller. Note, the slower play is available through the pullout drawer that looks like this:
The top controls that are double arrows are fast forward when held down, as opposed to change chapter if just clicked quickly. command-shift-right arrow on the keyboard (command is the Apple logo key) fast forwards even faster if held down long enough and command-shift-left arrow reverses faster and slower if held down long enough and both go in a loop from 2x to 32x in factors of 2, which when let go will give you the speed you want to change.
Sometimes you can also do a color calibration of your display if you are more used to different color gradients in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays -> Color and then select Calibrate.
To zoom video on Mac OS X, you can also use universal access. Command-Option-8, followed by a command-option-equal sign on the horizontal keys above the main body of the keyboard for increase size, or a command-option-minus sign for decrease size. To disable this feature command-option-8 again. Command is the Apple logo key.
Another DVD Player made for the Mac is Interactual's DVD Player.
Screen Capture of DVD is possible with the freeware Capture Me.

  • Can I hook up a third party MP3 Player to the MacBook?

Not in disk utility, not in iTunes.
How can I see my iRiver?
    Thanks.

    H10 Players

The H100 Series, H300 Series and iGP players are compatible with Mac OS versions 9.2.2 and 10.2 or higher.

  • QuickTime .mov plays upside-down in Windows Media Player

I know the cause of this: If you record using an iPhone with the volume buttons pointed at the ceiling, the resulting video plays upside-down in Windows Media Player. QuickTime is smart enough to correct and rotate automatically. Not so WMP. I have several clips that were recorded with the volume buttons pointed up. If I use QuickTime Player to rotate the clips, then they are correct when viewed in WMP, but upside-down in QuickTime Player!
Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?

Your assumptions are only partially correct. When you record the clip on your iPhone, the clip is recorded just as you see it in the WMP—i.e., upside down. What the iPhone does is records an addition file value that tells Apple media players which edge to display as the "top" during playback. Since third-party media players ignore this value, they display the clip in its original orientation which, in your case is upside down. When you flip the video orientation using QT 7 Pro, you're telling QT media players to play the file with an "upside down" orientation. By exporting the "flipped" orientation, you are, in fact, re-encoding the original "upside down" to a "right-side up" display but simultaneously telling all Apple media players to play the file upside down.
Is there any way to fix these clips so they are right-side up in both worlds? Or is there no choice but to re-record everything with iPhone's volume buttons pointed at the floor?
Actually, you can do either. That is, you can either "fix" the original recordings or re-record the the clips in a manner that avoids this problem. To "fix" your original files, simple open the files in an Apple media player (like QT 7 Pro) and export the files. The player will note the current "top" orientation and re-encode the content using the current display orientation for both QT and third-party players.

    Hello eveyone,
I was wondering if there is any way that I can know some how
what buttons "Play, Pause, FF, etc. " has been clicked a third
    party Flash Media Player?
Thank you and have a great day.

Thanks for the suggestions it appears I was doing more or less the right things but miss reading the error message:
    Cannot access keyword.classes.thirdPartyClass
    bad class file C:\java\keyword\classes\thirdPartyClass
class file contains wrong class: thirdPartyClass
please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectroy of the classpath.
While looking I have found that the classes do not contian src folders of Javadoc so I will go see if the third party can supply a Jar file or similar.

  • RTP Media Stream with "Third Party SIP Device" always through CUCM

    Hello,
i have i quite strage problem on one of my customers locations:
we have a cucm 7.1.5(SU4) with the cucm in the datacenter. And we have a small location(branch office) which has a small wan connection to the datacenter (1MBit/s).
In this location we have several Kirk (Polycom) Dect phones which register as "Third Party SIP Device - Basic" on the CUCM.
(The problem is the same if i use the X-Lite SIP Client instead)
When this SIP Phones or the X-Lite Client dials a internal Number of the same location the RTP Media Streams goes directly from the SIP Client to the phone. But if they dial an external number the RTP Stream goes from the SIP Client via the wan connection to the CUCM and back via the wan connection to the 2901 H.323 Gateway (on the same location).
and of course if i now start a big download or upload i'm no longe able to complete the phone call because we have no QOS on the wan connection, because we don't want to make calls over this connection.
When i look at the Sniffer files with Wireshark i see that the CUCM sends his own ip adresse in the SDP Header for the RTP Stream to the SIP Client. And this of course is wrong because the RTP Stream should always reside on the branch office.
i tested this in my lab (CUCM 8.5) and it is the same. i used the "Standard SIP Profile" and a Basic Third Party SIP Device"
The SCCP Phones on the same location which are configured with the same Region, Location, Device Pools, Media Resources and which use the same Gateway for external calls do not have this problem.
In the Gateway configuration "MTP Required" is not activated and i tested it in my lab with some Cisco SIP Phones (9971) and they are also not affacted with this problem.
    any ideas?

do you have a SIP trunk to the external devices with MTP required checked ?
