Third party power supply?

Greetings,
May I replace my Power Mac's power supply with a third party one?
Thanks

You can use an ATX PC-type supply, however, it has different connector pinouts. You can use one of these adapters, ATX power Supply Adapter http://atxg4.com/

  • Third Party Power Supply and Trackpad Freezes?

    Hello
I've bought a third party power supply online and received it today. When I plug in, the trackpad freezes!
It's very odd, as soon as it's unplugged the trackpad works again.
My guess is that the power supply is dodgy, but anyone with experience of this or clues about it?

Make sure your power supply has the correct wattage:

  • Third party power adaptor for MacBook Pro?

I am about to lose my second power pack due to under-engineered wiring on these Apple power supplies. The wires are very small and thin, and the strain relief at the entrance to the "brick" is totally inadequate, so the wires end up breaking under daily use. I looked at the iGo website, only to find out that there is some sort of licensing issue with Apple that prevents them from selling tips for the magnetic connectors that are in vogue. Kensington apparently doesn't supply any Apple adaptors anymore.
Does anyone know of a third party company that makes a replacement power supply that will hold up under normal usage for more than a year?
    Thanks

    Hi Justin,
The very first of the square power adaptors (which came with an early white iBook) which we own developed a problem of the kind you mention. Since then we've done one simple thing with all of the many that have followed with a variety of iBooks, PBs, MBs and MBPs, and never lost another.
We simply make a loose loop of the cord around one of the "legs" of the adaptor:
We leave the loop in place both when using the computer and when winding the cord around the legs for transport.
Not what you were asking for, I know, but it has certainly stopped any problems we have had with strain on the cord
    Cheers

  • HP Z400 Workstation Power Supply not Supported

    Good Day All,
I would like to seek help on the issue that i am currently facing.
Currently, I am using an HP Z400 Workstation and decided to switch to a bigger casing. I Bought a Full tower and casing and just realized that i am unable to move the power supply (425 Watts) as well due to the cables are too short to reach the CPU main Powers.
So I bought a separate Power Supply (Cooler Master M2 Silent Pro 850 Watts). The cables are perfectly enough to reach the CPU main power source. After putting everything the pc won’t turn on……
I thought my newly power supply was defective and got a replacement at the same day. I tried the new Power supply and simply does not want to turn on… this is getting frustrating as I am unable to figure out what is really causing the issue.
I also tried to just plugging the cables at the Main power and removed all the additional devices just to test but still no luck….
I started checking forums… there is only one post regarding about unable to change any other third party Power Supply for this HP Z400 Workstation. I guess it apply to all HP Branded as well as Dell.
Guys I need your help as I don’t want to make a mistake again on considering to build another machine just because this one was not working… Maybe there is one there that manages to bypass or have a resolution on how I can successfully upgrade my Power supply using the same HP Motherboard.
    Here is my Current Specs..
    Processor
    Intel® Xeon® Quad-Core Processor W3565 (3.20 GHz, 8 MB cache, 1066 MHz memory)
    Chipset  Intel® X58 Express

Will wait for your kind reply,
    Thanks

The reason it won't turn on is because pins 21 and 23 are not in the standard ATX PSU configuration. Your motherboard works with an HP configured ground on pin 21 and +12 VDC instead of the ATX  (ATX12V v2.01)standard unused pin and +5VDC respectively.
    Z400 PSU connector
    Standard ATX PSU connector
I have not seen a non HP PSU available that would work without modification.
Not all HP's are built with propietary PSU connections most newer, non-business models use the standard ATX PSU configuration.

  • OEM vs 3rd party power supplies

I'm interested in others' experiences with the relative quality of Lenovo and third-party power supplies, particularly with 20 volt, 90 watt supplies (e.g. for the T410).
I'm about to shop for a second power supply to use with a docking station. Price isn't my first consideration, but if buying a third party power supply will save me a few dollars without sacrificing quality, I'll do it. If any of the third party supplies are actually better than Lenovo supplies, I'd consider paying a premium.
If I do get a third party supply, are there any particular brands to look for, or look out for?

There have been reports of problems with 3rd party AC adapters, especially the sort you find on eBay or order direct from some supplier in China. You can get used genuine Lenovo AC adapters inexpensively at any store that sells used or refurbished PCs. I wouldn't try to save money on 3rd party AC adapters or batteries for that matter. It's not worth the risk.

  • Cheap, portable power supply?

Sometimes, I may need a remote recharge - but the Touch doesn't come with an external power cable - only USB.
Can you use just any compatible third party power adapter with the Touch? Some HK knock-offs of the Apple USB adapter look identical, and there are other cables available, as well.

    hmm... I think we're getting a bit off-topic with this power-supply-question
I'm european by the way (danish to be precise) and in your lens we are way more liberal (might even be called communists ) than any democrat would ever be - but again - I'm sure there are other forums where that discussion would find more relevance
But I would give Obama a go if I could - just to get a good distance to the Bush-era which I personally wasn't fond of... (ups off-topic again )

  • 1st Gen iMac G5 BAd Power Supply

Hi, My iMac G5 power supply is officially dead. It was confirmed at the Apple Store at the Genius Bar. Apple apparently no longer sells the power supply for the first gen iMac G5s. I have two questions: Does anyone have a suggestion on where to buy a 3rd party power supply for that model? I'm not exactly sure what I should be buying. And secondly, is it worth it to do? I know the second question is more opinion but I'm curious of the success rate of replacing the power supply. My preference is obviously to replace it rather than laying out the money for a new iMac which I probably can't do right now) but if anyone's experience is that I'm just throwing money away on the power supply because of future issues or unreliability, I'd like to hear about it.
    Thanks as always!

[Synaptech.com] or [welovemacs.com] will not only sell you the correct part, they will give you installation instructions. Another source is [http://www.jimwarholic.com/2008/07/how-to-repair-apple-imac-g5.php]
As to your second question, as long as the rest of the Mac is in good shape, replacing the power supply should give you a few more years to collect your pennies for a new one down the road.

  • How Access a Third Party Flash Media Player

    Hello eveyone,
I was wondering if there is any way that I can know some how
what buttons "Play, Pause, FF, etc. " has been clicked a third

    bad class file C:\java\keyword\classes\thirdPartyClass
class file contains wrong class: thirdPartyClass

  • Web service for inbound to third party solution

    Hi ,
I am working with a scenario of posting idocs from ECC into a B2B third party system using SOAP. I have created the service interface for the inbound to the third party and supplied them the WSDL the old fashioned way from the service interface export as file . But I would like to use the new features for PI 7.1.
Should I publish this in the SR and then give the WS name to the third party vendor?
I have gone through the literature in the forums, how would I assign the endpoint? Does the endpoint URL need to be provided by the third party system and then added in the SR?
Also the option of creating WSDL/Web service from the sender agreement, is that primarily geared towards sending SOAP applications and not receivers?   I am a tad confused here.
    Please advise.
    Teresa

    Hi,
Since you are using Web Service at the receiver side , the WSDL will be provided by the third party which you will import in the ESR as External Definition and then use this WSDL to do the mapping.
    Thanks,
    Loveena

  • Adding third party video card to P700 - no power connectors? New Power Supply Question...

    Hello,
I have a new P700 30A90012US with a 650W PSU and that didn't come with a video card. I am planning to use it as a DAW and for occasional gaming via a dual boot.
I wanted to put in a third party video card like a nVidea 970 but there aren't ANY connectors for video cards that I can find inside. The monitor I have is a 3440x1440 monitor. I have ordered a second 2609 Processor and RAM from Lenovo and have the following questions:
Once I install the second processor, how much wattage for a video card is available to me?
I understand that the 3rd party video card isn't supported but how do I attach power to it?
If it is required that I have to replace the 650 power supply with an 850, does it come with the required cable? I only see a 4 pin connector on the mobo that is unused (and I believe it is for additional hdd)
I tried searching but I am at a loss.
    Thanks,

Your config isn't really power hungry (and the 85W CPUs help a lot).  Though technically outside of the official spec, I think you could easily go to a 225W card for graphics if you had the connectors available to support it.  I'll double check the current when I get a chance, but it's probably really low risk if you want to convert your single 6-pin connector to dual 6-pin or a single 8-pin (via a dongle) to get to 225W TDP if you wanted to.
The PSU design is very modular, but unfortunately it's the aux power cable drops that kept it from being an easy field upgradable part.  I always recommend that people buy the larger PSU if they ever think they'll be doing any upgrades in the future just to make sure they are covered.
And like I said if you're comfortable working inside the system, it's not impossible to upgrade that cable drop on your own if you want to go up to the 850W.  You'd have to get the cable and PSU, but after that it would require removing the motherboard and PSU, cutting some cable ties and routing the new cable, then getting everything routed correctly such that the motherboard reinstalls cleanly.

  • Third Party purchase order with provision of component supply

    Hi
We need to create a Third party PO so that we can do statistical GR.
( Part is shiped directly by vendor to customer)
But we need to supply component to vendor, and vendor after processing ships to Customer.
How we can  replicate the same.
I though we can create new Item category, but that also seems to be not feasible.
Any idea to address the requirement will be helpful

    Hi,
First of all SAP doesn't provide facility of creating new Item Category.
As per your requirement, you are asking about Third-Party and Subcontracting combined. You cannot use both functionalities together, because SAP puts both into the item category (quite a big lack of functionality in SAP).
Since subcontracting is more complex (automatic background postings), you should use item category for subcontracting and manually (or user exit) change the delivery address to that of the customer so that the vendor physically ships direct to the customer. Technically in SAP you need to post normal GR plus delivery and GI to the customer as if it would go through your warehouse.
    But as a work around, you can try out with following Process Flow;
    1. VA01 - Create Sales order for material F1 and Customer C1
    2. As a result of this a Subcontracting PR will get generated automatically. (For this take help of SD Consultant, it is controlled by Schedule Line category in VOV6, take copy of CS and change Item category to 3 i.e. Subcontracting)
    3. ME21N - Subcontracting PO w.r.t. PR (Considering BOM is in place). In PO under "Delivery Address" Tab, maintain the Customer Code as C1. As a result of this, vendor will get information that stock is to be dispatched to Customer C1.
    4. MB1B - Transfer Posting of raw materials via 541
    5. J1IF01 - Create Subcontracting Challan w.r.t. TP mat. doc.
    6. MIGO - GR w.r.t. PO (Here it will update stock of the material F1 via 101 and auto consumption of components via 543 O). Refer Subcontracting Challan.
    7. J1IFQ - Challan Reconciliation
    8. J1IF13 - Challan COmpletion
    9. MIRO - LIV w.r.t. Subcontracting PO
    10. VL01N - Create Delivery w.r.t. Sales Order to write-off the stock of material F1
    11. VF01 - Create Billing Document on Customer C1
    12. J1IIN - Outgoing Excise Invoice (I think, it is not required)

does the Ipod touch third generation have an international power supply?  Am going to travel in Europe and want to know if I need to use a convertor with it or if it has the international power supply and I can get by with the appropriate plug adapter.
