Third party profiles results in color shifts

Using LR on a calibrated iMac and printing to an Epson Pro 3800, I'm now getting easily noticeable color ***** in the printed output, when using 3rd party paper profiles (e.g. Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl or Pixel Genius Epson Exhibition Fiber profile), but if I specify an Epson profile, the output is a perfect screen match!? I specified the Epson Glossy Photo profile in LR and printed on their new Exhibition Fiber paper, and the print was perfect. Of interest here, is that print Preview showed the color shift with the other profiles and printed the same, which suggests Print Preview is an accurate rendition of the final output to paper (and yes ... no color control was specified in the driver).
This was not the case prior to the last LR update, as the 3rd party profiles the job accurately!?

I'd be curious to hear back what the response is. I hate ambiguities. There is one other thing that is bothering me about your theory, and that is I just came back from mounting an exhibit of my photos, printed using LR specifying the HFA3800FineArePearlPK.icc profile printing to their Fine Art Pearl paper. The results on paper matches the current LR screen images. This I did I think prior to applying 1.3.1 (a few weeks past). Those images in LR look the same to me, yet the profiles are now visibly altering the tonality. I will re-calibrate, but my confidence level is in the sewer.
btw I'd love to see what PS does with the profile, but I can't install CS3 trial. It says CS3 is already installed, but it isn't.

I had installed it a while back, but it got uninstalled along the way. Any tips around this. My gut feeling is CS3 won't have any problems with the profiles.

2nd Verify

4th Rejected
When approved at third stage it should be create purchase requisition.
But if we reject this (4th stage) then PR should be auto cancel or deleted.
Can it possible:???

Yes, this is possible
Create a user status in OIBS transaction code as
and if you double click on each status in the next screen you can see Transaction control
Click on create option and choose Material Purchase Requisition as Allowed for CRTE, VERF, FIN
and choose Forbidden option for REJ status
It is not necessary to create the status as defined above, you can define status as you wish, but sequence should be maintained as shown

Color correction with third party options

I have been shopping and researching for a third party plugin for FCPX for color correction/grading.
Specifically, I have been looking at options like HyColor Pro and Hawaiki AutoGrade ... I asume, these options are utilizing the built in color controls found in FCP and offer a different UI context for manipulation.
Since I currently am not using such an option, If I use a third party option, and want to sync the look to other clips, is this possible with the "Match Color" feature.

Uploading time evaluation results from third party system

Hi,
Our customer is using a third party system for time evaluation as well as SAP time evaluation. Now they would like to upload the evaluation results from that system into their SAP system, so that all the data can be viewed in the same place for statistical purposes. Is this possible? And if yes, how is it accomplished?

Best option for profilling app running in third party propritery platform?

i am involved with a legacy project wherein jdk1.3.1 was used for development, the java code is deployed in a propritery platform/server ( meant for telecom applications). The server was basically meant for C++ modules but with popularity of Java the vendor started supporting deployment of Java modules as well...but its still a lot away from being called good enough :(
My problem is some memory leaks that i am facing in the application, and coz the JVM is started internally by the third party server/platform based on some configuration info on what all java code is to be executed. I am not in control of starting somethign like hprof....
what arethe best ways to do profilling in such a scenario?? can something like hprof be executed programmatically ?? ( as i get control of JVM once its started by the 3pp/platform )
Or the other option might be plugging in some JNI code on JVMTI..but unfortunately time doesnt support choosing that option....:(
( i would go for that in worst case scenario but am just hunting out some cheaper options available)

Cross-company + third party SD-order item result analysis

1.Sales organisation belongs to company code A.
2.Plant belongs to company code B.
3.Third party - so there is no delivery, intercompany billing is executed on the header level (IVA invoice type).
After the SD-order position is created, a purchase order is created too automatically. There is still no invoice receipt, intercompany billing, or external invoice. But the status Final Billed (FNBL) is determined for the position within the SAPKKA12 right after the position is created (not only within SAPKKA12, but also within result analysis KKA3 too).
Could you please test the same within your system and provide some clarification?

How do I sign an IPA coming from a third party developer with our Distribution Profile?

We have an app developed from a third party developer. We then received his IPA file.
Upon uploading the IPA using Application Loader, we are getting this error,
We tried sending our Mobile Developer and Distribution Provisioning Profiles to him, but he cannot build the IPA and told us he needs our Private Key (which we are not considering since we fear that he may be able to develop apps using our account).
We tried manually signing the IPA using terminal but we are getting this error:
What can we do?

One of the 3rd-party Crystal Reports viewers listed at http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html provides a full command line API, so you can call a report from your app and pass parameter values, login info, etc.

Third-party plugins and color cast

Hello,
When using DE:Noise or Magic Bullet Denoiser 2, I get a color cast on the whole image when it is applied simultaneously with a color correction via a Lumetri effect.
I have tried everything inside Premiere regarding effect order, nesting, and adjustment layers. No matter what, the color cast is always there. On the contrary, if I export the color corrected footage, then import back, then apply the denoising, there is no problem.

The transitions in FCP are the same. Transitions are not keyframeable, clips and filters are keyframeable. There might be some third party transitions. You could try google.

Camera profiles and Highlight Recovery: color shifts

I often see significant hue shifts and loss of saturation when using the Recovery slider in conjunction with the new dng camera profiles. I don't remember to ever have this 'problem' with legacy ACR profiles. In the sample below, you can see just that:

This becomes a bit of a problem, as recovering highlights now brings color shifts as a side-effect and you have to go fiddling with color controls.
Often, the new, 'shifted' colors are even more pleasing than the 'unshifted' (i.e. recovery set to zero), but this is a psychological and a workflow problem too. It is just not nice to know that controls are interdependent and have side-effects.
Is it a bug or a fact of life? What's so different about the old a new profiles, that cause this difference in recovery effect?

Knowing this helps me a bit, as it confirms my observations. What is not clear, is how these shifts will/should (or would they?) be addressed?
I mean Recovery was a perfect control until now. it just did what is should, reliably and consistently. Now we have the side-effect of color shifts.
a) Will Adobe adjust the algorithm to fit the new profile system? A bad thing, because it will not assure backward compatibility.
b) Will Adobe add a new control? Worse, because it adds unnecessary complexity.
c) Will/could the profiles be modified in a way as these color shift don't happen. As I understand from your previous post, this doesn't seem possible.
d) Will it just be left as is and I'll have to live with the color shifts? Now it seems it's the most likely option. Sad, because Recovery used to be so powerful, and now its power is somewhat compromised.

Color Profile and Color Shift Headache

I am having a terrible time trying to fix a color issue. I have seen suggestions in various discussions. Here's what I have tried:
Reset PRAM
Calibrate monitor
Double checked Univesal Access
Trashed preferences file
Tried using other profiles
Created seperate user account
I even tested to see if the video card or monitor was bad but when I plugged in a Viewsonic LCD display into the ADC port (using a converter) my Hitachi CM721F CRT monitor apparently "slaved" and mirrored off of the Viewsonic profile and everything was fine. When I disconnected the Viewsonic, the problem reappeared. Since then I have also had an Apple Cinema Display hooked up and there was no problem.
In fact, just this evening I was using iPhoto and all my photos had a red shift to them. Out of curiousity I played them as a slideshow and they looked fine. Additionally photo previews in the Finder, when set to column view look fine but when I open in preview I get a red color shift
What exactly is going on here?

Even if bit depth and color profile aren't related, we can say that a small bit depth (8 bit) can have problems with posterization effects if a large (i.e. ProPhotoRGB) color space is used.
More colors can be "reached" in a large color space, so, if many of them are in a small range of RGB values (XYZ coordinates in color spaces are translated in RGB values at the end), some "near" colors could be "rounded", practically disappearing. So some "posterization" effect could be visible (posterization stands for colors that do not "fade" between them but are clearly separated at the eye).
So, in practical use, a 8-bit color depth is better used with sRGB and AdobeRGB color space, while larger color spaces like ProPhotoRGB need a 16-bit depth. Using "dithering" (random distribution of color pixel) technique can reduce the posterization effect (for Web image for example), but is better to keep the larger color spaces with large bit depth.

Third party apps disappear after updates

I have several third party apps installed, including dropbox, windows office 365 suite, and google drive, among others. When my Macbook Pro updates, those apps are automatically uninstalled. The icons remain on the bar, but when clicked, produce a gray ? indicating that they are no longer installed. This has been happening since I have been using this Mac (approximately 16 months). I am able to reinstall the apps and they function as normal. This has become a very frustrating aspect of using my Macbook.

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off by the complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can act on it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
8. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Third Party process - billing date change in Sales order / Customer Invoice

Dear Friends,
In Third Party Sales Process , as we are aware billing is order related billing and it will become due only after vendor invoice is received.
               My situation is in the original sales order billing date is eg: 01.02.2009 . The subsequent vendor invoice ( Invoice receipt done based on PR --> and PO) has a later date eg: 05.02.2009 .
This means that the customer biling can be done only after this date.
How the system behaves in this case wrt to the billing date ( 01/02/2009) of the original sales order.

         Thanx all for your responses . But my case is a bit peculiar . Here the vendor invoice is coming by IDoc through EDI . When EDI flow is confirmed, the billing date is pushed ahead. As per billing calendar in CMR the customer can be invoiced only on the last date of the month.
As a result if the original billing date in the sales order is Feb end, when vendor invoice received through EDI , the billing date is shifting to march end .
Is it because the date of vendor invoice is causing this? Obviously the customer billing date falls only after vendor invoice date.

Color shift in save for web

Help!! Yelp! I have followed the directions in previous posts for fixing color shift when saving for web. I switched my monitor to gamma 2.2. I chose sRGB in assign color profile.
The colors still look washed out!
I am using CS4 on the Mac.
What am I doing wrong?

You are using "assign" instead of CONVERT to sRGB. In addition, accurately calibrate your monitor often and regularly. Even the cheapest hardware calibrator will give superior results to eyeball calibrators.
