    Hi,
    Process
VA01 - Create sales order (Schedule line CS and item category TAS) >> ME52N - PR is generated after save of sales order >> ME21N - Convert PR in to P.O >> Then vendor will send goods to customer and will send invoice to our company >> MIRO - Invoice receipt from vendor >> VF01 - Final invoice to customer

  • Third party sales Order processing

    Hi gurus,
During Third party sales order processing, Purchase requision has been generated with account assignemnt category 'X',
While converting the Purchase requisition to Purchase order the system is not allowing me to save the purchase order,
As soon as i hit the save button the Pricing conditions are being deleted in purchase order ?
When i hit the save button again System is throwing me out giving a message
System error (error in method PO_CHECK)
    Message no. ME816
This is happening only when a purchase order is being created for third party sales order processing.
Has any one faced this issue before, if yes please advise gurus,
    Thanks in advance,
    Kind regards,
    Gopio.

    Hi
The account assignment category X has been maintained in
schedule line category CS and it is recommended by SAP
    Yes perfectly right
SAP recommends only X as account assignment category for CS
If the PR is created successfully then there is no problem with  related to SD configurations
The error message is more of an MM error
You need to check with an MM expert why that happens while creating PO from PR
I feel since this happns while saving the transaction there might be some userexit used which may be root cause
System error (error in method PO_CHECK)
    Message no. ME816
As per my knowledge this is not a standard error
Because of activation of some userexit this is triggered
Functionally this is a MM area error
From SD side everything is correct

  • In Third Party sales order processing how we come to know that the customer

    Hi SAP SD Gurus,
In Third Party sales order processing how we come to know that the customer is recived the Goods from the vendor?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sreenivas.P

From a high level view, the behavior should work like this:
    -  Sales order placed from customer PO via Tcode VA01. Purchase Requisition created upon saving the order
    -  Purchase order created with reference to Purchase Requisition via Tcode ME21N
    -  Receive confirmation from vendor that goods have shipped via EDI
    -  Create invoice receipt to vendor via Tcode MIRO
    -  Create billing document to bill customer via VF01

  • Third Party Sales Returns process

    Hello All
We have a third-party sales process which is automated i.e Sales order and Purchase requisitions(VA01) are created using the data coming in the incoming EDI file, the Purchase requisition is automatically converted to a Purchase order, the Invoice Reciept(MIRO) is posted and the Sales Invoice (VF01) is posted.
The question is how do we handle the Returns or the Credit process?
Is there a way I can configure the system to create a Returns order which will also update the Pur.Req quantity then the Purchase order quantity  or directly the Purchase order quantity. I can then use this information to raise a credit to the Vendor Invoice.
I don't want to just raise a credit memo and update the sales side and leave the purchase side open.
    I appreciate your reply.
    Best Regards
    Rama

    Third Party Return Process
Please check this extract from the sap library :
If the vendor grants you a credit memo on a quantity or a value basis, you can then send this credit memo directly to your customer.
The billing type Third-party credit memo (G2S) is available for this. The billing type Third-party credit memo works with the item category TASG (third-party credit memo item). The Billing-relevance indicator F is set in Customizing for Sales for this item category. This means that the cost is not created. In Customizing for Sales, the item category TASG is set at item level in copying control for the billing type G2S (copying control sales document by billing document) as the target item category (source: TAS-> Target:> TASG.)
    Process Flow
Create a billing documente with billing type Third-party credit memo (for further information, see the section Creating a billing document in the Billing document). Enter the third-party order as a document still to be processed. The quantities are automatically removed from the invoice.
The above is the process for giving a credit memo which can be adapted for return goods.

    Dear Manoj Mahajan,
The return process is not supported by standard SAP.
Considering my experience even if you want to get it done through some cutomizations it is not very successful.
Please refer to SAP note 751609 which will give the further details
    Hope this helps you.
Do award points if you found them useful.

  • Invoice entry - Third party sales order processing

    The process is below:
    - Trading Company A, enters  a sales order at its system.
    - Production Company B, makes the delivery to the customer.
    - An invoice with respect to the delivery is created from Company A to the cıstomer and another invoice is created from Company  B to Company A.
The revenues are posted to the related accounts at both companies. Do we have to enter incoming invoice for the purchase activity to be posted at the related accounts at Company A (trading company) or is creating an invoice from company B to A enough?

    - Production Company B, makes the delivery to the customer.
    - An invoice with respect to the delivery is created from Company A
Comp A will not issue the goods, so you can not create invoice wrt: delivery, It should be wrt: Order.
Once MIRO is done in Comp A: ( which is sent by Comp B against the delivered goods), then only you can create invoice wrt:SO, which is controlled in billing relevance - F Order related billing status according to Invoice (MIRO) quantity.
Go through the threads: Third party order processing in the forum , will  help you alot.

  • Third party sale and stockable item

Hi all , We have some products . For example "A " . We buy it from one vendor and maintain its stock and sale it as and when order comes . Same product when there is demand we sale it by third party process instead of holding the stocks we instruct vendor to send the delivery directly to customer . Process is similar to third party process in SAP . For such material how can I make material master.
1>> which Material type I have to maintain on first screen ?
2>> what will be the other configuration or values in other fields of master

    Hi,
Please search for the SAP building blocks for Third party sale with Shipping and Third party sale W/O shipping

  • Third party sale-how to GI GR simultaneously in outbound delivery

VA01 - Item cat:TAS/ sch.line cat- CS- with which automatic PR will be created,
schedule line- bussiness data :item category =blank , acct assgt cat. =M .movement type =601 .
item category;  special stock = E.
ME21N wrt: PR generated in step-1
vl01n - assignment of Purchase order in outbound delivery
vl02n - carry out at the same time a goods issue (referred to the delivery) and a goods receipt (referred to the PO).
    MIRO - verifying vendor invoice.
VF01- wrt: sales order created in step-1
in this case, my process is not like the stander third party sale.
How to config the sap to GI and GR simultaneously in the the t-code "vl02n"?
and GI and GR is all related to the "E" stock?
    thanks a lot.

    Hi,
In third party sales there is no outbound delivery take place, our vendor ships material to our customer,
    Process :
Create sales order >> PR >> P.O >> Invoice reciepts >> Invoice to customer
Still if you want to carry our that goods you recieved & want to perform outbound delivery then you can still able to configure it, but simplest way is just Determine item category TAB instead of tas in sales order
    Process
Sales order >> PR >> PO >> Goods reciepts - MIGO >> Invoice reciepts - MIRO >> Outbound delivery >> Invoice to customer.

  • Third party Sales Orders in V.15 Back Order Report

    Hi,
Is there any standard setting to incorporate undeliverd third party sales orders in the standard V.15 backorder report.
I need to get the list of third party SOs which are backordered???  similar to drop ship and stock orders (TAB & TAN).

As per my knowledge, in standard Third party Sales Orders process,
    -On availability check.
    -there is no GI.
    -no movement type.
-TAS - I Cat - is not relevant for delivery.
    The Standard process is
Create Third Party Sales Order (VA01/VA03 - retrieve PR num)* - Create Purchase Order (Display list of PR with ME57 and convert to PO with ME58) - Approval/Release of PO (if required - ME28) - Invoice Verification (MIRO)**
    - Billing (VF01/vf04)
The PR number is automatically created in this step.
The incoming invoice from the vendor updates the billing quantity, so that the customer-billing document can only be created after entering the invoice from the vendor.
So, in standard TP sales process, Back order processing is not possisble. If you any other business process scenario, do share with us.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Plz requesting kindly for screen shots of intercompany and third party sale

    Hi btothers,
Am into new project where we have intercompany sales and third party sales ,can any one plz send me with step by step screen shots to my mail id [email protected]
    Thanks & regards,
    srinivas

    Hi Srinu,
Please find below the complete Documentation on Third Party Sales and Intercompany Process.
    THIRD PARTY SCENARIO:
In third-party order processing, your company does not deliver the items requested by a customer. Instead, you pass the order along to a third-party vendor who then ships the goods directly to the customer and bills you. A sales order may consist partly or wholly of third-party items. Occasionally, you may need to let a vendor deliver items you would normally deliver yourself.
    Process Flow
The processing of third-party orders is controlled via material types. Material types define whether a material is produced only internally, can be ordered only from third-party vendors, or whether both are possible. For example, a material that is defined as a trading good can only be ordered from a third-party vendor. However, if you manufacture your own finished products, you may also want, from time to time, to be able to order the same type of product from other vendors.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Sales
Third-party items can be created automatically by the system, depending on how your system is set. However, you can also change a standard item to a third-party item during sales processing manually.
    Automatic third-party order processing
If a material is always delivered from one or more third-party vendors, you can specify in the material master that the material is a third-party item. During subsequent sales order processing, the system automatically determines the appropriate item category for a third-party item: TAS. To specify a material as a third-party item, enter BANS in the Item category group field in the Sales 2 screen of the material master record.
    Manual third-party order processing
In the case of a material that you normally deliver yourself but occasionally need to order from a third-party vendor, you can overwrite the item category during sales order processing. For a material that you normally deliver yourself, you specify the item category group NORM in the material master.
If, as an exception, you use a third-party material, change the entry TAN to TAS in the ItCa field when processing the sales document. The item is then processed as third-party item.
If address data for the ship-to party is changed in the sales order in third-party business transactions, the changed data will automatically be passed on to purchase requisition and also to the purchase order ,if one already exists. In the purchase order, you can display the address data for the ship-to party in the attributes for the item.
You can only change the address data for the ship-to party in the sales order for third-party business transactions, and not in the purchase order.
    Processing Third-Party Orders in Purchasing
When you save a sales order that contains one or more third-party items, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition in Purchasing. Each third-party item in a sales order automatically generates a corresponding purchase requisition item. During creation of the requisition, the system automatically determines a vendor for each requisition item. If a sales order item has more than one schedule line, the system creates a purchase requisition item for each schedule line.
Purchase orders are created from purchase requisitions in the usual way. For more information about creating purchase orders, see the Purchasing documentation. During creation of the purchase order, the system automatically copies the delivery address of your customer from the corresponding sales order. In a sales order, you can enter purchase order texts for each third-party item. When you create the corresponding purchase order, the texts are automatically copied into the purchase order. The number of the purchase order appears in the document flow information of the sales order.
All changes made in the purchase order are automatically made in the sales order as well. For example, if the vendor confirms quantities and delivery dates different from those you request and enters them in the purchase order, the revised data is automatically copied into the sales order
You process third-party items by creating a normal sales order. In overview for the order, you can then overwrite the default item category (TAN in the standard system) with the special item category for third-party items: TAS
    Billing Third-Party Orders
If relevance for billing indicator for the item category has been set to B (relevant for order-related billing on the basis of the order quantity) in Customizing, the system includes the order in the billing due list immediately. If, however, the indicator has been set to F (relevant to order-related billing on the basis of the invoice quantity), the system does not include the order in the billing due list until an invoice from the vendor has been received and processed by the purchasing department. In the standard system, item category TAS (third-party order processing) has been given billing-relevance indicator F.
In the first case, the third-party order is considered to be completely billed only when the invoiced quantity equals the order quantity of the sales order item. In the second case, each time a vendor invoice is received, a customer invoice is created for the quantity in the vendor invoice and the order is considered to be fully invoiced until the next vendor invoice is received.
If you have activated billing-relevance indicator F for item categories in Customizing, billing can refer to the goods receipt quantity instead of the incoming invoice quantity.
You can control whether the invoice receipt quantity or the quantity of goods received is relevant for billing in Customizing for copying control for billing at item level.
FOR YOUR PROCESS Individual Purchase Orders WELL GIVE THE RIGHT SOLUTION
Individual purchase orders are used when your customer orders goods from you that are not in stock and must be ordered from one or more external vendors.
    Process Flow
During sales order entry, the system automatically creates a purchase requisition item. The purchasing department creates a purchase order based on the requisition and the vendor ships the goods directly to you (unlike third party order processing, where the vendor ships directly to your customer). You then ship the goods to your customer. While the goods are part of your inventory, you manage them as part of the sales order stock. Sales order stock consists of stock that is assigned to specific sales orders and cannot be used for other purposes.

Third party order processing is as follows:
    Assume three companies X, Y and Z
    X - The company,
    y - The customer
    Z - Vendor
When ever X gets a PO from Y to supply some goods, X has an option of either manufacturing those goods or procuring those goods.
If he is procuring the goods, there are two methods that are generally followed:
Method 1) After receiving the PO from Y, X creates a sales order against Y.
Now at the same time he also creates a PO to a vendor Z to produce the goods
Z produces the goods and supplies to X
X receives the goods from Z
Then X delivers the same goods to Y.
    After that X invoices Y and Z invoices X.
Note : Here there is no direct/ Indirect relation between Z and Y.
This process is known as Trading Process. and the Material here is created with Material type HAWA.
The other method is a Third party order processing method:
Here the glaring difference is that instead of Z supplying the material to X and X in turn supplying the same material to Y.
X authorizes Z to supply the material to Y on his behalf and notify him once the delivery is complete.
Now Z supplies the material to Y and acknowledges the same to X.
Z will send a copy of delivery acknowledgement and invoice to X.
After receiving the delivery confirmation and invoice from Z, X has to verify the invoice and this process is known as invoice verification and is done in SAP through Tcode MIRO.
The next step for X is to create an invoice and submit to Y
Only after the invoice verification document is posted then only X can create an invoice for Y.
This is the business flow that is followed for third party order configuration.
There are few steps that have to be configured to enable the system to function as mentioned above.
    Step1)
If you are always following a third party process for a material then you have to create the material using item category group BANS.
The procurement type should be marked as External procurement (F) in MRP 2 view of the material master record.
if you are not always allowing third party order processing then u can create a material master record with item category group as NORM and the procurement type should be marked as ( X) meaning both types of procurement ( in house manufacturing and external procurement).
    Step 2)
the item category in the order should be manually changed as TAS.
For that you need to configure the item category determination
Order type + item cat Group + Usage + High level = Item cat + Manual item cat
    OR + NORM + + = TAN + TAS
    OR + BANS + + = TAS
    Step 3)
make sure that during the item category configuration for TAS you need to mark relevant for billing indicator as F
    step 4)
The schedule line category for this type should be CS.
make sure that you mark subsequent type as NB - purchase requisition in this schedule line category as this will trigger the purchase requisition order immediately after the creation of the sales order and the PO to vendor is created against this purchase requisition.
    Intercompany Process:
Go through the explanation given below with test cases.
    Business case: -
Customer orders goods to company code/Sales organization A (Eg.4211/4211).Sales org 4211 will accept and punch the order in the system with sold to party as end customer code in the system. Company code/sales org B (Eg.4436) will deliver the goods to end customer and raise an intercom any billing on 4211 with reference to delivery. This can happen only after 4211 raises invoice to his end customer to whom the material has been delivered by 4436.
    SPRO Customization required:-
    1. Assign plant of delivering company code (Eg.SI81) to sales org/distribution channel combination of ordering company code (Eg.4211/RT)
    2. Maintain intercom any billing type as IV for sales document type OR
    3. Assign Organizational Units By Plant (Eg.SI81/4211/RT/11)
4.Define Internal Customer Number By Sales Organization (Eg.4436 will create customer master for 4211 company code and that number will be maintained in this relationship:-4211/231)
    5. Automatic posting to vendor account (Optional)
    6. Maintain pricing procedure determination for 4211/RT/A/1/RVAA01-For customer sales and billing
Maintain pricing procedure determination for 4436/RT/A/1/ICAA01-For intercompony billing
    Master data to be maintained:-
    1. Create end customer master in company code/sales org 4211/RT/11
    2. Create customer master for 4211 company code/sales org in 4436/RT/11
    3. Maintain PR00 as price for end customer-Active in RVAA01
    4. Maintain PI01 as price which has to be paid to 4436-Statistical in RVAA01
    5. Maintain IV01 as inter-company Price-Active in ICAA01
    Process:-
    1. Create OR with sold to party as end customer.
    2. Plant to be selected is delivering plant belonging to different company code. With this selection system will treat this order as intercomany sales.
    3. Pricing procedure is RVAA01
    4. With reference to this order delivery will be created from the delivering plant and post the goods issue for this delivery.
    5. Ordering sales org will create billing document F2 with reference to delivery for end customer.
    6. Delivering sales org will create intercompany billing IV with reference to delivery document.

  • Return process in Third Party Sales

    Hi ppl need some help,
In Third party Sales what happens if certain goods supplied by the Vendor to the customer are 'Defective' & are to be returned by the customer.
Does the customer return it to the Company to which he placed the order or he returns it to the Vendor.
How can we configure this process in SAP to settle the billing & issue the credit memo to the customer?
    Shilpi

    Hi Shilpi,
third party Return process you can configure like this,
Take return goods from ur customer, Your customer will return goods to you and not to vendor, remember one thing ur cutomer doesnt know who is vendor.
Create CR with refeerence to RE. Because RE will contain that Product and quantity which you ar getting back from the Customer and that you have invoiced the customer.
E.G. If you Sent 2 Quantiy of Materail XYZ at 50 Rs each to the customer, but you Got invoice from ur vendor at 40 Rs Each.
and if customer retuirn 1 quantity u have to return him 50 Rs and not 40 Rs.
So Create CR with respect to RE.
    Hope this will help.
Revert back if u need any further help.
    Thanks,
    Raja

  • Third Party Sales Process

    Dear All,
When creating a Third Party Sales Order, the PR gets generated but the system asks for a WBS element in the incompletion log (the field is not maintained in Incompletion Log).
The Account Assignment Catagory in Schedule Line is for Third Party (with only GL as mandatory option.)
The Requirement Class/Type combination has also been maintained with Account Assignment as blank (Notification not required), The valuation field is also blank so that Sales Order/Project Valuation should also not come into the process.
The Stratogy Group of the Material is not maintained and as per standard the system should follow the following logic
    1. First, an attempt is made to find a requirements type using the strategy group in the material master.
    2. If the strategy group has not been maintained, the system will determine it using the MRP group.
MRP Group is also not there
    3. If the MRP group has not been defined, the system uses the material type instead of the MRP group when accessing the corresponding control tables.
Material Type is also not controlling this
    4. If no requirements type is found here, the system assumes a special rule and attempts to find a requirements type with the aid of the item category and the MRP type.
Item catagory is maintained but not the MRP Type (although the MRP Type is maintained in Material Master)
    5. If this is not possible, a last attempt is made to find a requirements type with the item category only.
    6. If the last attempt fails, the system declares the transaction as not relevant for the availability check or transfer of requirements.
I have also maintained the option of Determination Of Requirement Types Using Transaction as 1.
Could anyone help me out with the issue?
    Regards,
    N

    Hi,
3rd Party is nothing but trading business. you Receive a order from your customer (sales Order) n Issue/raise Purchase Order on Vendor. and ask ur vendor to delivery the goods directly to your customer.
    steps in R/3
    1. Create Sales Order (VA01)
    2. System will create PR in backgroud (ME53N)
    3. Convert PR into PO. (ME21N)
    4. Create GR (Optional) (MIGO-101)
    5. Create IV(Vendor Invoice) (MIRO)
    6. and finally Generate SD Billing (VF01)
This is SD-MM Integrated business process.
    hope this will clear you.
