Third party software instrument not outputting to right speaker?

Hi there. I know that third party support is not something I can expect to get much of here, but I figured I'd see if anyone had any suggestions anyway. I'm new to GarageBand, and am using the '8 bit' plugin from a Japanese band called YMCK (http://www.ymck.net/english/download/index.html). The plugin does seem a little buggy or incompatible with my system/GarageBand because I often get no sound and have to restart GarageBand, or (and I warn you if you try it) occasionally I'll get a loud, annoying tone until I restart the app as well.
Normally, however, it does what it's supposed to except for the fact that I am not getting any audio output from the right speaker for software instruments using this plugin, regardless of the panning I'm using. This is just kind of strange and I'm wondering if maybe there's something I'm missing, or perhaps someone else has used this plugin before (or would be willing to try it). Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Logic Express 8 not seeing third-party software instruments

I have tried to install some Puremagnetik EXS instruments files for Logic, following manufacturer's instructions to place an alias of the file containing them in the folder Macintosh HD-->Library-->Application Support-->Logic-->Sampler Library. Have tried this both with an alias and with the actual file. Actual file resides on the home drive not an external drive. Have rescanned the library in Logic and they are not showing up either in the library or in the channel strip drop-down menu.
Have others had this problem with "third-party" software instruments that do not come as package files? The only non-built-in software instruments that I have ever successfully installed in an Apple product were either from the Jam Packs or came as a "package" where you double-click the "box" icon and the product installs.

Even though both the Puremagnetik instructions and an e-mail from the support address there specifically said to place the files in the top level directory, guess what? Based on this suggestion I placed an alias in the user level directory and it worked. Logic is now seeing the soft synths. Thank you!

Third party software will not close without a soft reset.

I have a few third party software utilities/games that do not want to close without a soft reset, some show a white screen and others just will not close. Should I uninstalll these and reinstall them? My grandson has the same utilities on his Treo 650 without these problems. My phone is the Treo 700p.

I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. If this does not work, you may want to check if there are updates or newer versions of this program and be sure to check the compatibility.

Third party EXS-instruments not found in LP9 after downloading.

Hi.
I have downloaded some EXS-instruments that i found online for free. I stored them along with the original EXS-instruments that came with LP9. When i try to load them in LP I get a pop-up saying the instrument was not found. I have refreshed the library, restarted the mac without result. Why is this?

Read the Logic Studio Instruments manual available in the Help menu.
Specificially, the section on loading instruments. It spells out the storage locations. There's a main LIbrary on the Mac HD, and a user Library.
The factory instruments are in the main Library (similar to the path above but starting with the Mac HD vs user).
User instruments go into the user Library.

Third party software not syncing

Hi All,
Hoping that you can help, I have installed some Third Party Software on my Palm Z22 and it does not seem to be hot-syncing. I also can not see the program on the listing when I open the Palm Desktop software and go to HotSync->Custom....?? Is there somewhere that I can tell it to sync this program??

Yes I have the desktop application - and I follow the directions to "publish to a mobiel device".
Does it have something to with not being able to see the program in the Hot Sync options?? It seem to be that it does not seem to sync this app?? Is there somewhere I can 'tell' it to sync?

Logic X screensets do not remember 3rd party software instrument placement on second monitor screen

I open my Spectrasonics software instruments and place them in a location on my second monitor screen and lock the screenset. Then switch to another screenset and come back to that saved screenset and the 3rd party software instruments are stacked on top of each other on my main monitor screen.
This was not the case in Logic 9.

Starting from an empty project, I added 2 Instrument channels (Omnisphere and Kontakt 5. Open both plugin GUI's, move dthem over to my 2nd monitor then Locked the ScreenSet (SS 1)
Switch to other S Set and back, K5 and Omni GIU's open where I left them (locked).
Close Project and then re-open... still works OK

Third party software not updating anymore!

It used to be the case that i could open, speed download, VLC, skype or whatever and the app would tell me there is an update to download. However this last few months all my third party software has stopped doing this, even if i physically go to 'update software' in the menu bar the message i get is this 'there is currently no software update for this app'.
If i go to the venders websites i can download and drag the software into applications where it overwrites no problem.
Any theories as to why this has started to happen to all my software except for OSX updates which work fine.

Need Third Party software recommendation - duplicates management and remova

I have read several dozen discussions addressing duplicate file/song removal from itunes, and many recommend third party software. While there is a 'show exact duplicates' command in itunes at Shift:File->Show exact duplicates, in my case all it did was show all of my songs, 8,440 instead of the actual 4,220 that are in my library. I'm not sure of the purpose of this command, perhaps it works for someone but not me.
Absent the ability to add a user defined column in itunes that would have the capability to perform an Excel-like function to number each row, allowing the sorting of odd/even numbers or some such scheme, I guess users with thousands of songs who have fallen into the duplication trap are required to purchase third party software to correct this, or just go ahead an begin whatever medical procedures purport the relief of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Does anyone have recommendations of software they have actually used, paid, share or free?

Would that I be so lucky! I reinstalled my Vista OS and was adding back all of the programs and data, so all of the music had the same 'date added'. However, I have just this moment solved my own problem. Here is what worked for me:
1. I downloaded freeware from the website LCIBrosSolutions.com which does indeed identify duplicates in the iTunes file and will erase them.
2. However, now you are stuck with broken links (i.e. "!" songs) in your iTunes, and need to eliminate them. What I did was go into the View choices, and picked something that I would never use. In my case, I picked "Episode Number" and added it as a column. Then, I went to "select all" and highlighted all 8000+ song names. Right clicking gave me "Get Info" after the warning, and then I went to the video tab and entered the number 4. I un-highlighted, sorted on the Episode Number Column, and since the song names with no real content would not accept the number 4, they were at the bottom, and were all duplicates. I deleted them.
The way to verify that you do indeed have broken links is to sort by song name, and see that every other one does have an ! by it.

Third Party Software vs. RSC

My company is in the process of researching and selecting
software for version control. I think they are considering PVCS or
Rational ClearCase. This software would be used for software
development and possibly for RoboHelp also. Does anyone know how
these tools (or others) work with RH? What questions should we
consider when integrating this software with RH? Any problems to

Yes, it does sound like it should work, doesn't it? Even so,
back when I checked, RH and ClearCase each said that they didn't
support the other. My personal experience agrees with this. Trying
to check in a multi-layered project (folders and subfolders) into
ClearCase was an ugly proposition, and it got worse the larger the
project became. Furthermore, as I had to put RH output files into
ClearCase, too, there were files that RH generated that ClearCase
flat out refused to accept because the line length was too long. We
were able to nurse the whole thing along for a while, but our
ClearCase IT folks were just as glad as we writers were when we
stopped using ClearCase for the help.
And don't even *think* about working directly out of
ClearCase in the same way you'd use RSC!
However, as I said, this is not current info. It may be that
RH7 and newer versions of ClearCase will be more compatible. But we
followed the same logic as you, and found out that not all SCC
implementation is the same.

Detection of third party software

ok. My wife is the NETwork administator and I believe has either downloaded 3rd party software or is monitioring my internet usage. How can I tell? I can get into her Network Administrator account I just do not know hoew to find what I am looking for. If you read this wifey. I am checking on how to look for this software.

Interestingly this event log entry does not appear in Windows XP. What operating system does my client use? That's right. Windows XP. The third party software doesn't run on anything but Windows XP.

Third party software ipod back to pc! HELP

i lost all my music on my computer and installed third party software to copy music from ipod to put back into my liberay, but program copied music from i pod but didnt transfer it into liberay, is there a way? and not one by one? and also the music i do manage to transfer is there a way i can put music in liberary back into correct track listing order?

If your music was transferred back to your desktop or music folder then either drag the folder to the iTunes source list to add it back or go to File> Add File to Library or Add Folder to Library : About the Add to Library, Import and Convert functions
Once the files are back in iTunes you can order the library. I've found that this method works for me when things are out of order. Right click at the top of any column in your iTunes library and choose **Track Number** from the list. Click at the top of this new column to sort it and after that click on the Album column. If you like you can then click on Artist which is how I prefer mine ordered, it will continue to hold the track order as well. Afterwards anything you import should follow this arrangement Artist>Album>Track Number within Album (you can hide the track number column when you've done if you don't want it cluttering up the view)

How do you remove a third party software update on Lion?

A friend recently pulled an update to Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1. The update version is 3.6.2. Consequently, RDP does not work when connecting to a Windows machine remotely.
NOTE: I realize Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Mac 2.1.1 is no longer supported for OSX Lion and later. However, I use this same client successfully on a 2009 Intel MBP upgraded to Mountain Lion. I did NOT pull this third party software update and RDP works without fail.
Troubleshooting steps to date:
Attempted Uninstall/reinstall of RDP.
Failed.
My goal is to "roll back" this specific application prior to the software update without having to restore OSX.
Please help locate the specifc program files to be removed. I'm willing to remove manually through Terminal with the right instruction.
