Third party tools

What are the pros and cons for using 3rd party (partners) templates to develop Forms 6i applications. I am concerned with future upgrades of Oracle forms that might render the 3rd party templates obsolete. I experienced that problem using other GUI tools.
I am planning on developing a client/server application.
Will I be better off developing my own template instead?
Suggestions on where to look and comments in general are appreciated.

With all due respect, perhaps you should consider
1) decide what these tools are to do
2) decide which of the hundred of Oracle products the tools relate to
3) ask the question describing the specific requirement in a forum related to the product.

Third Party Tools To Upgrade WSS 3.0 to SharePoint Foundation 2013?

Since you cannot upgrade WSS 3.0 directly to SharePoint Foundation 2013 using just the SharePoint software, I wanted to look at 3rd party tools that automate the migration directly to 2013 without requiring an intermediate upgrade to 2010.
We have a simple WSS 3.0 farm with 2 SharePoint Servers and 2 SQL servers that are are load balanced so that the site stays up if any one of the servers goes down. It may be just round robin load balancing.
I'd like to see if I can determine if any of these migration tools would save enough time and effort for this type of environment to be worth the cost. It would be nice if we could do the upgrade all in once day instead of having 2 outages.

HI,There are third party tools to upgrade sharepoint but not from wss 3.0 to directly sharepoint 2013.Its not at all possible as I know.Please find the below link that clearly explains the Upgrade process.

This one says it can be used to migrate directly from even WSS 2.0 to SharePoint 2013.

I don't like that it doesn't indicate anything about pricing on the page so you have to call a sales rep and give away all your contact information before you can get a quote. I probably will not call them.
We would "like" to speed up the migration process and have only a single outage, but since the SharePoint environment is small, we will not be spending thousands of dollars just to save having to do two upgrades. We would probably end up just
going to 2010 and canceling the 2013 upgrade if needed.

Error while creating the proxy object to connect to a third party tool.

Hi,
I tried creating a proxy object with the wsdl file. I even created a HTTP connection to the third party tool. but when I try to execute the whole proxy object, I am getting the below error. Can anyone help me on this?

do a check on the wsdl file and how you are passing values in the proxy. The tags for XML are not correct. Open the WSDL in IE and see there must be an error. Or probably when passing the actual values to the XML generated each element is not closed properly. Error says tags dont match.

Third party tool which can create infosets in SAP R/3

Hi All, Is there any third party tool that could create infosets in ECC for reporting.We integrated crystal reports with ECC and want to create queries using infosets and make use of BAPI's. There are several 100's of reports to be developed and we are afraid we might make mistakes when we have to join all the tables in ECC during infoset creation. We are hoping to find a third party tool that could do this or has infosets that could be used.

web service, .Net connectivity assembly or crafting the BCS xml model file manually are the techniques that can be employed to achieve. Can anyone share the code to create External content type and External list by adopting any one of the techniques.

To connect SharePoint to your Oracle Database, you should use the BCS.
You will find here what is the structure of the XML File to create to access your Oracle DB.

Open hub Destinations - Third-Party Tools As Destinations

Dear all, below is the SAP Help process flow steps. I am quiet clear of all the steps except the APIs. Where do we define these APIs? When it says "You use API RSB_API_OHS_DEST_SETPARAMS to define the parameters for the third-party tool that are required for the extraction" where do I use it? Is it in the 3rd party tool? or is it in SAP BI.
If it is in 3rd party tool, where in 3rd party tool. Do I need to write as code ? or would I have an option in the 3rd party tool?
If someone can help me with Microsoft connector using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services packages to SAP BI that would be helpful.
Where in Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Integration Services packages can I use/put this APIs? Any help Plzz

Process Flow:
Extraction to the third-party tool can be executed as follows:
       1.      You define an open hub destination with Third-Party Tool as the destination type.
       2.      You create an RFC destination for your third-party tool and enter it in the definition of the open hub destination.
       3.      You use API RSB_API_OHS_DEST_SETPARAMS to define the parameters for the third-party tool that are required for the extraction.
       4.      You either start extraction immediately or include it in a process chain. You can also start this process chain from the third-party tool using process chain API RSPC_API_CHAIN_START. The extraction process then writes the data to a database table in the BI system.
       5.      When the extraction process is finished, the system sends a notification to the third-party tool using API RSB_API_OHS_3RDPARTY_NOTIFY.
       6.      The extracted data is read by API RSB_API_OHS_DEST_READ_DATA.
       7.      The status of the extraction is transferred to the monitor by API RSB_API_OHS_REQUEST_SETSTATUS.

It's been a along time since i worked with open hub, but here goes:
The Third Party tool needs parameters or switches to work correctly. Think of the old DOS commanda the "/a" "/b" suffix.
The APIs are simply a way to pass these parameters from the BW source to the Third Party target.
If your tool does not need them, don't worry about them.

Integration of ChaRM with third party tools

Hi all,
We are in the process of building the solution for Change Request Management implementation integrated with third party tool.
As the normal process for ChaRM is to work with the Service Desk functionality (to raise a ticket, then support message, change request, change document etc...), but what we need is create the change request, and change document directly with ChaRM without using the Service Desk functionality.
Did anybody come across this situation?
Please share your experience.

Hi Balaji,
there is no problem, as I understand, you want to use ChaRM without Service Desk. OK, than you create directly a Change Request in CRMD_ORDER, the transaction type you have to select is SDCR (standard transaction type), you have to approve it and then you can create a change document, it is not necessary that you start with a Service Desk ticket like SLFN.
You need configured TMS a SolMan Project with a Maintenance Cycle, thats it (but this is enough , don't forget the customizing).

ASR netflow with third party tool

we have one issues where netflow data is not getting into the solar winds tool.in wireshark captures it shows netflow traffic is reaching upto the server.
found one forums and they highlighted one bug as below but its not affecting the release we are having.unable to find the exact bug ID in cisco .let me know if you can get any inputs and highlight the same.

HI Mike,
If you have third party Document Management System, then you can post two different message, i.e. service order in transaction details of the third party tool with link to document which would be posted to third party Document management server.
If you don't have third party document management system and what to use sap infrastructure, then you don't need to maintain attachment, maintain the link between the third party tool and SAP document repository, with some login utilities.

ChaRM integration with third party tool

Hello,
I have some talks withn customers regarding a scenario where Change Requests comes from a third party tool like HP Demand and Portfolio Management. A possible scenario is when there is a request for change which goes for a complex review and process approval before going directly into the ChaRM creation, without going into a service desk ticket.
I imagine a kind of web service similar to that of the Service Desk but in this case to work with the SDCR or SDHF tickets, so that external systems can interchange data with those Charm tickets. Does anybody face such type of integration?? What other alternative path you follow for this requests which do not come form a incident/problem workflow?

How to integrate DRM with third party tool for loading metadata in SQL table

Experts,
I am new to DRM and I have a requirement in which we want to integrate DRM with third party tool(lets say SQL table) as target and load metadata from DRM (Parent node, name , alias etc) to SQL table (same column name)
Is there any way we can integrate DRM to export the same to table directly instead to files. If yes what are the steps we have to follow.
Is there anyway we can customize DRM to execute queries or run batch
Can I have a basic example please.

1. Use DRM Export to Table option, for that create an External Connection first for the Target Database and select the respective Tables to which you wish to Export the Hierarchy information.
2. You can perform most of the DRM Actions via the DRM_BATCH_CLIENT.exe.

Hi,
Third Party Tool must be having some features of downloading data in a format like Excel.
In SAP Side, this File is going to be your input...Now you can try different options:
1) Identify the IDOC that serves your purpose and populate the idoc and fire an Inbound IDOC.
2) Run a BDC for your relevant Txn Code by uploading the Third Party generated Excel data into an internal Table.
3) Use an Standard BAPI to upload data into SAP.
4) If possible, Use an SAP Provided Direct Input program to pump data in SAP.
You need to give the expected format of Excel to the Third Party user generating the Excel for you.

we are looking for third party tool which provide preview of any documents in documnet library in sharepoint 2013. So when users just hover over the document, they can see the preview. Do
any of you please provide a good suggetion in case if you have used in the past? In my research I came across
Knowledgelake and harepoint. Also I think there is one Metalogix but I know for sure it a way too costly. So please help if you know who does this job with a fair amount of price.

I want to create a pop up calendar in adobe acrobat or any other adobe tool via adobe javascript in a PDF form .
I wish to create the calendar without any third party tool.
I found few options like formrouter and also pdf scripting.
But I was to create the calendar via pure Adobe Javascript. If no such option is there inbuilt pop up calendar control in any adobe tool to design the PDF form and afterwards save the same as PDF.

All 3 of the options provide are all JavaScript. There is no plug-in used. You do need to place the JavaScript code text file into a special folder so that the menu and tool bar tools that allow execution of the JavaScript code and associate the pop-up calendar with a specific field.

Visual Studio 2010 has support for visual webpart, you can find that under Visual C# node in the Installed Templates section (if your preferred language is C#)
