Third party update installs without authentication
A couple of weeks ago, I downloaded and installed PowerMail 6.0.1b1 -- the issue is that the installation did not require my Administrator password.
A couple of days ago, I had the same experience intalling yet another update to PowerMail -- no password required.
I have three accounts on my PowerBook: admin, enver, guest. I was in the "enver" account when I downloaded the updates.
Usually, after I download any application in this account, I'm asked to provide an Administrator account name and password.
Microsoft Office 2004 requires no password to install their software from disc. On the other hand they do require you either have an eligible license on that machine stored in the preference, or an activation key which is provided in the software box. Only software which installs system level drivers really needs a password for installation, since otherwise it usually can run inside any folder. Of course if you limit access to folders to being read only, then no one can install any applications. Furthermore, if you download via Safari, Apple's download folder in 10.5 is very much aware of downloads from the internet, and will confirm with you that you want to open the file you downloaded from the internet. That at the very minimum should raise the eyebrow of anyone using the account. Instruct your fellow users to pay attention to any warnings that show up such as those.

Further, I have uninstalled and reinstalled .net framework two times.
Adobe's tech support team has (according to their findings) "determined" that my windows .net framework is "corrupted" and as such my system will disallow the installation of any .msi programs; my only salvation (according to Adobe) is to fork over $100.00 to Microsoft for "advanced" Windows tech support. Earlier today I was easily able to install Silkypix RAW software which is a program having an .msi extension. This seems to contradict the Adobe technical team's findings. Moreover, I've had ZERO installation issues with any other developer's programs including Corel, Sony and a host of additional 3rd party programs- ponderous.
As well, both Adobe Air and Acrobat function and routinely update on my system without incident. For the life of me I have no idea what to do to remedy this frustrating issue.
In addition to the 1603 error, I see a 1935 error as well. I would greatly appreciate any useable suggestions to permit the installation of Lightroom and PS.
Thanks! -
During the Installation of LR I get an error message. Initially I didn't have enough space for the installation on the start partition drive. However, now, it should be sufficient and I re-booted the computer a couple of time, hence I would assume that the temporary installation files have been deleted.
Now, nevertheless each time I try to re-install the software I get the following messages:
ERROR: An error occurred during the installation of assembly component {6435B7C0-E0C8-3EA2-91AE-7640034EAFCE}. HRESULT: 0x80070002.

ERROR: Third party payload installer Adobe_Lightroom_x64.msi failed with exit code: 1603
Since PS was installed without problems I would refrain from deinstalling the Creative Cloud and start over again.
Any hints?
ThxClaasd5335054 you will want to review the MSI log files to determine what error message is preventing the installation from completing.

I need to reinstall FrameMaker 11 after a system crash. At 99% of the installation process, I get the following message.

from the notifications, IMHO, FrameMaker installation failed because of a corrupt DistillrStart.exe file in the installer.
What I did not know, in the installation options, I could disable PDF maker.
I do not need this module, that is already installed with Acrobat Pro on my system.
In the support chat, I was not pointed to this, either. Although I asked if I really had to uninstall
all Adobe software from my system before re-installing, even Acrobat...
Thank God, my company's administration remembered this issue from a previous installation.
Best regards,

What to do?
/ IMWhere are you getting a “third party payload installer” for Acrobat from?
If you “bought” a license for Acrobat that came with or otherwise obtained such an installer, you likely are dealing with something that is potentially harmful to your system, if not simply bogus and pirateware.
Adobe certainly is not going to support or assist you with such an installer.

Third party payload installer vcredist_x64.exe failed with exit code: 2147942750
Hello there,
I've been having problems with Premier since installing it on Windows 8.1
I'm signed up with creative cloud but first I was having trouble actually loading the program (it just kept trying to load then would bomb
Then it would load but wouldn't give me an option to actually edit movies by dragging them to the timeline (it would drag the movie only no sound)
And today I've tried an upgrade but get an error message with it. As above (the full summary is below).
I've tried to uninstall and reinstall through windows and it appeared to uninstall and resintall but I now have this problem.

</PRE>You might attempt to simply REBOOT and then retry the installation.
VC++ 2012 x64 can require a restart. The Adobe installer is not designed to handle this situation. If this is the issue in your case, rebooting will resolve it.
You are less likely to run into this particular issue if you reboot your PC and then run the Adobe install with every other program and tray icon closed. -
