Managed Account permissions issues after all third party updates
I run a lab with 34 student accounts that are "Managed" using 10.5.7. I have given students permission to use specific software and all aspects of the software in Accounts/Parental Controls. When I update Microsoft Office or Adobe CS4, I have to go into every single student account and into each individual program to "always allow" which is about 10 programs for each machine. Of coarse all the checkmarks in the parental controls are already checked off for the student account when I check under parental controls?
Anybody having this issue. This happens on both Intel and PowerPc's.
This happens on fresh installs of Leopard to disks that have been zeroed out, on updates from Tiger and on CC cloned machines.
I have of coarse repaired all permissions before and after the updates.
It is extrememely laborious to have to do this after small incremental updates to third party software.
Actually, I've had to do it with Safari as well. It may not just be a third party issue.
One things for certain. It is ****.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
ThanksIs DW installed on a server or is it installed on a user's desktop? If it is installed on a server then it won't install properly because it is not designed to be run from a server because of licensing issues. Adobe can't allow you to use one user license and then installing on a server and so used by 100 other users.When you reply please also state your operating system.

Firmware and third party updates
Hi Everyone,
Currently I am running ARD version 3 on tiger server and I have Tiger and Leopard OS X running on my client machines (G5, Intel Mac).
I was wondering if there is a way to send Apple firmware and third party application updates to all of my Mac clients using ARD.
I have used "softwareupdate -i -a" and this command seems to be only working with Apple software but nothing else.
1. Is there a command that I can send (using ARD) to update firmware on all my Mac clients?
2. Is there a command to update third party software such as Adobe, Roxio etc?1. No
2. Only by repackaging the updates into an Apple standard package installer and pushing them out via ARD. I suggest you use LanREV's InstallEase (Free) to package up the updated files on your master build system and deploy those packages. -
Third party update installs without authentication
A couple of weeks ago, I downloaded and installed PowerMail 6.0.1b1 -- the issue is that the installation did not require my Administrator password.
A couple of days ago, I had the same experience intalling yet another update to PowerMail -- no password required.
I have three accounts on my PowerBook: admin, enver, guest. I was in the "enver" account when I downloaded the updates.
Usually, after I download any application in this account, I'm asked to provide an Administrator account name and password.Microsoft Office 2004 requires no password to install their software from disc. On the other hand they do require you either have an eligible license on that machine stored in the preference, or an activation key which is provided in the software box. Only software which installs system level drivers really needs a password for installation, since otherwise it usually can run inside any folder. Of course if you limit access to folders to being read only, then no one can install any applications. Furthermore, if you download via Safari, Apple's download folder in 10.5 is very much aware of downloads from the internet, and will confirm with you that you want to open the file you downloaded from the internet. That at the very minimum should raise the eyebrow of anyone using the account. Instruct your fellow users to pay attention to any warnings that show up such as those.

Is there a way to refuse a third party app update?
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing an app. In many cases problems seem to arise with the update. Is there anyway to turn off the automatic update for third party apps? Or selectively deny an update to a particular app?
You cannot turn off the notification for third party updates. You do NOT have to accept the update - the update will only occur if you select the app and allow the update to take place.
You will have to simply ignore the notification if you really do not want to update the app, but it some cases - apps will no longer work if the iOS is updated and the app is updated to run only in the newest iOS. So just be aware of that as well. -
SCUP2011 - SCCM2012 SP1 CU4: 3rd party updates fail to install with SoftDistHashMismatchEvent
We publish 3rd party updates like Adobe Flash, Shockwave, Firefox with SCUP 2011 into WSUS.
These 3rd party updates are imported/synchronized into our SCCM 2012 SP1 (CU4) environment and deployed to the clients/servers.
But all of these 3rd party fail to install. Software Center returns the following error: The software change returned error code 0x80091007(-2146889721).
The standard Microsoft Updates are downloaded and installed without any error.
The 3rd party updates are downloaded by the client, but are deleted after checking the hash because of a hash mismatch (SoftDistHashMismatchEvent).

The strange thing is that 3rd party updates are downloaded/installed succesfully when using the Windows Update Control Panel applet, while WSUS and SCCM2012 are installed on the same server!
Our environment uses PKI only for communication/authentication, because we manage multiple untrusted networks
All servers are virtual servers (VMWare ESXi 5.5) with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 + latest updates.
I already performed the following trouble-shooting tasks without any success:
- I reinstalled the different Site System Roles.
- Removed the SCCM client from the SCCM database and client and reinstalled
- Removed the anti-virus software
- Redeployed the 3rd party updates
- Replaced the E1000 NICs with VMXNET3 (server and client)
- Ensured no proxy between server and client
- Downloading and installing the 3rd party updates manually from the specified download locations
(e.g.
http://sccm.mydomain.local:8530/Content/32/04B9361CDC426D2DBC94B90A7BB0172CAE84D532.cab or
http://sccm.mydomain.nl/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/fea1aeb3-af1a-45aa-b464-4f90422b4720) succeeds without a error.
I really don't know what's going wrong.

I recommend that you try uninstalling the following KB’s.
Run the following command to uninstall:
wusa /uninstall /kb:2735855 /quiet /norestart

Since the latest update, most of my third party apps no longer work, none of my photo software, torrent programs, open office, NOTHING!! It is most frustrating - is there a way to 'downgrade' and go back to a previous version of the firmware, or am I just stuck with no apps that work?

Third party credit update with goods receipt
Hi Experts,
I need to know how customize the credit control management in the following situation:
In third party flow without SD delivery: Sales Order -> Purchase requisition -> Purchase
Order ->Goods Receips from supplier.
The credit control has to be done with the delivered amount not
invoiced. But in this flow the SD delivery is substitue by MM Goods
Receipt in order to deliver products to the customers. When goods
receipt is done the delivered credit amount isn't updated.
it's necessary to check the amount delivered not the amount ordered (as it's done with the current customization)
The customizing is:
the item category:
billing relevance 'B': Relevant for order-related billing - status
acc.to order qty
o Copying control -> invoiced quantity indicator 'E': Goods receipt
quantity less invoiced quantity

We have checked note 410685 but not solution has been found.
Example: Customer has a credit limit 1000 euros.
1) Create a sales order with an total amount 900 euros.
2) Create purchase order with the purchase requisition created
automatically by the sales order and release it.
3) Do goods receipt for an total amount 800.
4) Create another sales order with a total amount 150 euros.
Now, the new sales order is blocked, because the calculated credit is
100 (credit limit - ordered amount). If the credit is calculated with
the delivered quantity, the credit will be 200 and the new sales order
won't be blocked.

In any credit memo scenario, always enable the creation of Credit Memo Request and then Credit memo. When the credit memo request is to be created, make sure that it is always created with reference to the invoice document only and not reference to the sales order, as the objective of Credit memo is to correct the prices in the invoice document. This will help you in various scenarios like exchange rate where the value of sales order and the value of invoice can be different in the local currency due to ex.rate fluctuations.
As credit memo takes care of incorrect prices, having a document flow of credit memo request with reference to sales order is incorrect.
With reference to the error message, it is a valid message as an invoice has been created with reference to the order. You should not create a credit memo with reference to a sales order(OR), for credit memo, u shd use a credit memo request only as the reference.
Hence the flow for your question is
Sales order>Invoice>Credit Memo req-->Credit Memo
OR>F2>G2W(Confirm with others on the doc type)-->G2S

I have run into problems with my iPhone 4. I hadn't done an update for a while so decided to get my itunes and iphone 4 up to date. I downloaded all the latest versions. However now non of my third party apps work and my largest one has vanished. I try and open them and they flash up and then close again. I thought the easiest thing to do was to restore so I tried to syn my apps onto itunes so I wouldn't loose them. However it won't let me sync the apps onto iTunes. It ill allow me to syn the old version when I just started but since then I have bought a dozen other apps. Can anyone help. thanksWell this won't work for me...
I had all of my apps and music stored in iTunes, I updated to the newest 9.2 iTunes and did a 4.0 update to my iPhone 3G all the while not noticing that EVERYTHING IN iTUNES was GONE. When I got done updating my iPhone it was late so i went to bed... Next day came back to sync everything and thats when I saw it was all gone...

did what the link said and NOW I have all my 6K+ MUSIC back but not ONE APP. The App's are completely gone from when you nav. to the location the link says... There isn't a mobile sync folder there...
NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NEXT... Very Frustrated and MAD. I don't want to redownload all my apps manually. TO many to do it that way. -
I used my only Apple ID to purchase my iMac (Intel-based one). I've never been able to update core apps that came with it. I can update third party apps I've bought (like Coda), but when I try to update Garage Band, iPhoto, iMovie and so on, a popup message appears saying "You have updates available for other accounts" and "Log in with the account you used to purchase this app in order to update it", or similar (see screenshot above).
The OS seems to get its updates fine - it's just the core apps from the App Store.
I've only ever had one Apple ID, so I have no idea what to do. I went to ask the Genius bar at my local Apple store, and they couldn't help, and insisted that I must have purchased the iMac using a different account, but I definitely didn't. There are a few posts on non-Apple forums of this happening to other people, so it must be a rare bug.
I'm a little concerned it may affect my ability to update from Lion to Mountian Lion. Can anyone help?
DanHave you done a Disk Repair and a Disk Permissions Repair?
If that doesn't resolve the problem I would suggest calling customer support about this issue as it is most likely on their (Apple's) end that the problem exists. -

WIndows 8.1 64bit, Windows Installers stalls with any install, updates or third party programs. Third party program installations work if I restart in safe mode. Updates don't as they cannot be installed in safe mode and require normal mode.
Been happening for months now. Some installations after a long time finally proceed, others dont.
Already trying uninstalling antivirus (Bitdefender) with no result.

Intune & Third Party Software Automatic Updates
Can Windows Intune ensure third party software such as Java, Adobe Reader, & Flash is updated? I at-least want an email when a PC has an out of date version of the above software. If Windows Intune can't do
this, any recommendations?
We're a small business that simply uses Windows Intune and Office 365. Recently a PC had a vulnerable/out of date version of Java and visited a compromised site, resulting in a nasty virus. Obviously I don't want this to happen again.
Update: I ended up using GFI Cloud's patch management to address the lack of automatic third party patching in Windows Intune.That requires manually uploading patch files for third party software daily... I'm looking for something that can automatically update common third party software that cause major security concerns, or at-least notify me when they are out of date.

Kumarif third party system is capable of making Remote Function call, then writing a Function module & making it remote enable is not difficult task in ABAP.
You may have to prepare specifications first to decide if third party system is going to Read, insert, update, delete records from Zee table. -
Cost update for third party and individual purchase orders

We went live in around 5 months back. Last month we changed the configuration so that costs for back 2 back purhcase order will be determined from goods receipt & third party purchase orders could be determined from logistics invoice verification. This is working correctly with the new documents which are being created.
We have an issue with the document which are already created and posted. We want to update these existing billing documents so that they can pick the rigth cost. For these old transactions currently the cost is being picked from valuation segment of the material.
I have tried resolving this through reorganization of infostructures & through sdvprsupdate but it does not work.
