This 5700 non ultra kinda blows

I recently got the Geforce FX 5700 td128.. it's not the LE or the ultra..
It was to replace my geforce 4 ti4400 with 128. The fan was going out on it. I figured the 5700 would smoke it but it's actually taking performance hits up the yazoo. It can't seem to handle bump mapping. I ran a 3dmarks03 on it and I got about 2301 which sounds like a better rating then I got on the ti card but yet the ti card handled bump mapping fine. Now I have to disable bump mapping in games like Hitman contracts and Bloodrayne. Otherwise it's butt slow. I swear i'm even getting a lil lag even on my desktop.
I used nvidia's latest drivers that were released two weeks ago. I also played with directx 9c. No change.. I then tried the detonator drivers released in april on a clean install.. no change.. Soo now I'm using the most current msi drivers for the card.. a little better. But I notice the slow down each time the level starts then it seems to build back up. It's just like the card has a bit of a lag.
Prolly should saved up the extra 50 and gotten the 5900xt or whatever it is.. sigh..

Hey Deviancy... first off yes I do have a higher spec processor compared to you, but that shouldn't influence your 3dm03 scores (and it doesn't BTW). The card I have isn't an ultra version either.. its a regular 5700 with 256MB VRAM with the same default frequencies (425 core/ 500 mem).... and the 256MB version is only marginally better at normal resolutions used in 3dm03. Not for the sake of arguing... just pointing out the facts. :hypecrite:
I would recommend that you get a 5900XT or a 9800pro if you decide to change your card, though before you do so try to check the frequencies at which the card is operating... I've never heard of an under clocked 5700 that isn't an LE , but its worth a try... If nothing works, you can try either formatting your computer or jsut giving up on the card... Like I said before, it could well be a faulty card..

14.4 is the bandwidth for the Ultra so I assume it isn't the same on the non ultra.
You can calculate it by finding the rated timing of the memory chips and therfore the memory clock (approximatly).
For instance 2.8ns (should be marked on the chip -28) is 1/2.8ns=357MHz.
Using DDR it is effectively 714MHz, and using 128bit wide BUS you get 11.4GB/S

We've an article that provides the following troubleshooting steps that may help stabilize your iPhone.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.

This open non-payable liability & to which GL Account to be discharged to.

Dear Gurus,
Consider scenario in Procurement cycle as under
a) There is a residual open liability (say GR/IR or Freight liabilities) created after GR against PO
b) This liability created is more than actual payable;
thus liability discharged after IV (transferred to vendor liability) is less than the above created
Thus the difference is the open residual liability
c) This portion of liability needs to be removed WITHOUT (further) payment (as not payable)
d) Practically it would not be feasible to reverse transactions & amend PO & recreate
We need to understand how to remove(/transfer) this open non-payable liability & to which GL Account to be discharged to.

SAP has provided a Standard way of clearing these GL A/c.
Use MR11 - GR/IR Clearing Account Maintenance for this;
Use: -
Quantity differences between goods receipt and invoice receipt for a purchase order result in a balance on the GR/IR clearing account.
If the quantity invoiced is larger than the quantity received, the system then expects further goods receipts for this purchase order to clear the balance.
If the quantity received is larger than the quantity invoiced, the system then expects further invoices for this purchase order to clear the balance.
You can also clear differences for delivery costs.
If no more goods or invoices are to be received, you must clear the balance manually.
This can be done in different ways:
You can return the extra goods to the vendor.
You can cancel the invoice and post a corrected invoice or a credit memo for the surplus posted quantity.
You can clear the GR/IR clearing account manually.
GR/IR Account Maintenance: Account Movements
Use: -
The offsetting entry to clear the GR/IR account is the same as the posting made when you enter an invoice for a purchase order.
Material with Moving Average Price (MAP)
The GR/IR account is cleared against the stock account, unless no stock coverage exists. If the material stock is smaller than the quantity to be cleared, only the actual stock quantity is debited or credited proportionally. The remaining amount is posted to a price difference account.

If it's a thin 1 pixel wide vertical line it's highly likely it could be caused by a defective LCD.
One quick basic way to check is to note the position of the line. Then go to System Preferences, Displays, and lower the resolution. If ther line moves it's on the video and the logic board or video card if fitted is likely to be defective. If the line stays in the same position it's likely to be an LCD fault. Either way to have it repaired you'll need to visit an Apple store or AASP.
The worst offender for this problem is the Late 2006 17" iMac. FOC replacement of the LCD used to be covered by a quality program, but it's now ended.

5900 Non Ultra

hello,
I tried to update my MSI Geforce Fx 5900 Non ultra 128mb bios from Rev 1 to Rev2 and also tried from REV 1 to Rev3. Both times it tells me Error:Board ID mismatch firmware update (3505) and Board ID (3500). But when i try to change bios from REV1 to the same REV1 it works. I want to update my bios because it seemed to help a lot of people.
Can anyone help?

The ultra is about 20% faster ( due to incresed GPU and mem clock speeds )

Bugs: Virtual Desktops in an alpha test non-usable kind of state where it can hardly be tested (where the heck am I, ALT+TAB, and so on)

Thus: This feature cannot be considered valid before it is actually being widely used and tested by people (testers).
It's really hard to test virtual desktops right now. Probably because its too incomplete to be tested. Too much alpha kind of state.
Triggering a shortcut in Internet favorites does not open a new instance of IE on the same virtual desktop - but on another different desktop.
ALT+TAB slides virtual desktops - but sometimes it does app switching ... both ... so when does it work one way ... and then another.
Going to a virtual desktop I see all the open on the taskbar for another context (i.e. another virtual desktop). Click the icon of that application I am on virtual desktop 1 ... clicking an instance ... I go to another virtual desktop where that app lives.
It feels like a really weird universe ... where you go to strange behaving meta-context where sometimes up is down and down is up --- and then down is down and up is up ... and then you enter the door of cockpit of spaceship 1 and comes out in the cockpit
of spaceship 2 ....................... then controls are even more weird. You do not know which space ship you are controlling for sure (up is up and down is up .... 1+2=-11) (i.e. non-intuitive)

If you open the recovery drive (partition) it should only have a single folder (Recovery).
To make sure that your not saving restore points to that drive.
See:
Start, Control Panel, System, System Protection tab. Make sure the D drive partition is set to OFF so that it does not save there.

So in the beginning I bought this new system, here are the specs:

So when i got it home, I could not Install Win2K AT ALL, No matter what i did or tried still would not install.
So after awhile i said forget it and install WinXP, worked installed fine(or so i thought). I installed SP1, d/l all the updates. d/l VIA 4.45 and for the graphics card i d.l the latest certified drivers. Well i thought i was in the clear, but then i started getting errors or problems while trying to run games or 3D apps(cinema4D). So i went through all the forums and ended up replacing the PSU witha Antec true power 480, and the CPU cooler with a volcano 9. but still nothing but problems so i took it back to my dealer and they deemed the mobo bad or something and gave us a new one.took it home and still Errors, did a fresh install of winxp(win2k could still not install)Still erros everywhere. so i took back to them again. and they claimed this time that the cpu cooler was to big and wasent makeing full contact, and gave us a smaller one(i think a volcano7?) i was like alright that is understandable. got it home did fresh install AND STILL Errors.
I dont know what to do, lets see i cant run 3Dmark2001SE program just quits no error. Quake3 quits,Cinema4D says it has generaded errors and needs to quit. at first PCMark2002 did not work, But i was runnin a test on my harddrives and C: would keep failing, so i looked in one of the logs and said something about memory, so i changed my swap file to D: and boom PCmark2002 went all the way trough its tests, and i could do tests on my c and d without any errors but i still can use 3d apps?

Volcano 9+ was a nice copper base, and it makes great contact with the cpu core

Right PSU for 6800, non Ultra or GT

I'll clarify that: its the GeForce 6800 OEM AGP version.
My PC company rightly said that the GT requires a 350w PSU, and that the Ultra needs a 420-480w PSU
My one is lower range than either Ultra or GT.
Yet it does have a fan, and also heatsinks top and bottom.
What I'd like to know from the boffins here is whether my FSP 250-60 GTV(PF) will cover it.
The PC company says yes but I am beginning to have my doubts
If any of you blokes could add an extra dimension, I'd be heaps grateful
I'm due to take delivery of it on either May 26th, or May 27th.
If I know one way or the other I'll be able to take a prompt decision

After a little frustating because my Twinx LL can't run MAT stable @ any settings (FSB below 218), and confirmed by many of thread that nobody (ok, some claim they can) can't run Ultra Turbo @ FSB below 218... I have a new hope with Twinx XL! (and maybe other similar new 2-2-2-5 series).
Finally I found a great match for my 865PE board! Twinx XL! (haven't try another 2-2-2-5 great series from OCZ, Crucial, Mushkin, & Kingston)
Now I could run Ultra Turbo MAT below 218 stable with this board. See this:
FAILED:
- FSB 218, timing 2-3-2-5, Ultra Turbo: (CPU-Z confirmed PAT on)
--> Bandwith: 5423/5413
--> Cache & Memory: 10007/11.1
--> Prime95: seconds... not stable...(just like my old Twinx LL)
- FSB 218, timing 2-3-2-5, 2.9v, Ultra Turbo:
(CPU-Z confirmed PAT off --maybe by set CAS to 2.5, however it run on CAS 2-- )
--> Bandwith: 5347/5337
--> Cache & Memory: 9928/11.5
--> Prime95: 3 hours 13 minutes... not stable... but pretty enough, huh?
(however, I'm not to sure how to make CPU-Z said PAT off while MAT ON & FSB

nb: I trade my LL with XL and only pay $15. I think it's okay.
O yeah, and I could run FSB 233, 2-3-3-6 easily, and more I think, as Corsair (and review sites) said it could run to FSB 250. Yeah however Corsair is not alone, OCZ, Kingston, and Mushkin already released their RAM with Samsung chip, which perform similar. Also Crucial with Ballistix (using their Micron chip) give a great performance according to http://www.anandtech.com.

Emm. Yes, with more heat of course . I just try to get the max with the minimum. And I can get that bandwith (around 5300) only @ FSB 233, which brings my CPU to 3.26 Ghz. Compare this with FSB 218, 3.05 Ghz. I think it will be cooler.

No... my point isn't overclocking, but only get stable Ultra Turbo MAT (below 218 of course), which is a great feature (can get this board overcome some 875 system). And many 865PE Neo-2 users want to use this feature (including me).
