  • My Ipod Touch is giving a error message of 'This accessory is not supported by iPod Touch' whenever I dock it in my Bose Sound Dock and refuses to play but will charge the device?? am screaming mad and want to be able to play audio thru using the 2

my ipod touch will not play music thru the Bose sound dock and displays the message 'this accessory is not supported by iPod Touch' how can I fix it?

"This accessory is not supported" usually refers to an inability to charge the iPod, but the music should still play throguh the Bose dock. My iPod Touch works this way.
However, when the Bose refuses to make any sound, I unplug it from mains power for one minute. Then plug it back in and try again. This always sorts out the sound issue, but of course, it still will not charg the Touch.

  • Sony icfcs10ip "not supported" by ipod touch

My son has a 4th generation iPod touch. We purchased a Sony icfcs10ip iPod docking station for him in August 2011. It worked great with his iPod Touch.
Now it will not work. In fact, it gives a message "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPod touch." However, the Sony dock will work just fine with my iPhone4 and my daughter's 4th generation iPod touch. As far as I can tell, my daughter's iPod is identical, although hers is newer than his. My son's iPod was purchased in December 2010 and my daughter's iPod was purchased in July 2011. They are both 32 GB iPod Touch models, 4th gen.
You might think the problem is with my son's iPod, but it will work with two other iPod music docking stations, one which is very old (Apple Hifi) and one which is very new (a Philips music dock that is only 2 months old).
His iPod is updated to the latest OS (version 5.01). I tried doing the "reset all settings," which does everything but erasing all the content. My son doesn't want me to do the full reset because he is worried that he will lose all his levels on the games he likes to play.
Is there any difference between a 4th gen iPod touch purchased in Dec. 2010 and a 4th gen iPod touch purchased in July 2011? Was there a software update that made the Sony dock unusable?
    TIA for any help!

    Stop shouting!!!
We are ipod users just like you.
All caps indicates shouting, is rude and is difficult to read.
If you want help, yelling at those that would help is a terrible way to go about it.
Contact ihome and ask if the unit is compatible with your ipod.
Try the basics form the manual:  restart, reset, restore.
    turn off your caps lock

  • Anyone else having issues with third party changers saying "this accessory not supported". I get it every time I plug my phone. It only started after the iOS 7 updates

Anyone else having issues with third party changers saying "this accessory not supported". I get it every time I plug my phone. It only started after the iOS 7 update?

That's because part of iOS7 had code in it to look for and recognize unsigned cables.
In other words, Apple knew that people used non-signed ones and didn't care....until last month when they decided to care. People with iOS6 and lower should experience no issues (unless Apple patches those iOS versions) but folks with iOS7 will need to deal with it.

  • JBL docking station "This accessory is not supported by iPod Touch"

I've had a JBL docking station that was working just fine with my iPod touch for several years and now I'm getting an error that the accessory is not supported.  Does anyone have any idea what I have to revert back to so that I can use my docking station?

DId it happens after updation to iOS 5?  You can try the standard fixes:
    - Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
However, it could be that the dock is not compatible with iOS 5.  You will have to wait until either Apple or JBL issues a firmware update.
Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

  • Charging not supported 2gen Ipod touch

I have JVC KS-PD100 cd player for my car that has built in Ipod contol.I had to purchase a JVC cable to connect my 2gen Ipod touch 16gb.When connected the screen says charging not supported and i am unable to play the songs on my ipod also..the display screen justs says checking..checking.Has anypne else had an issue similar to this and is there any know fix for this? HELP

yes. lots of people have had this problem. and no, i'm afraid there isn't a solution.
many third party apps will not charge the new ipod touches, and some people have reported that they also won't play songs.
the charging thing is something to do with apple moving from firewire charging to usb charging.
if your car has an aux socket, then you could get a cable which will connect to your ipod's headphone socket and play it through there (i use one to play my ipod through my speakers at home if i want to run the battery down (i have a first gen, and it will play through the dock, but sometimes i want to run the battery down.)

  • Charger not "supported by iPod touch"

Apple, this is the 5th charger i've bought THIS ******* YEAR. 4 months has it been? yeah.. it has.
I bought this charger 3 weeks ago, and it worked fine until today. I have not updated my software, and i am currently running iPod touch 6.1.2.
I'm tired of being forced to buy new **** from you guys all the **** time. STOP ******* WITH MY CHARGE SOURCES. I'm not buying another one, fix this **** now, or i'm done with Apple for good. You shouldn't force me to buy 5 different chargers, and change them every month. I've spent more on your chargers than I did for my iPod. My iHome, which is what I have now, won't even work.
