If there is a way to do it, I suggest you put the heading of this thread in bold on the Feedback & Suggestions Board page, sticky it, make sure it is at the top of the list of threads on this Board, and make it permanently unread so that returning members who have read it once will read it again and hopefully pay attention to what it says.

This One is For Environment Gurus Only-controlling presets of external FX

Hi y'all,
I just got a new hardware (WHAT?) Hardware reverb unit. (Oh my gosh, what's THAT?)
Although they have an AudioUnit plugin to control it, since I am on an Intel Mac, they do not yet work on my machine. They only have PPC...boo hoo.
So,I am building a Logic environment for a Lexicon Reverb, the MX400, and I am getting along just fine, with the correct implementation of each parameter control, etc.
Here is the conundrum:
I would like to have two buttons, one for going UP one preset at a time, and one for going DOWN one preset at a time.
I have the part figured out, as far as making a button that spits out program changes, but of course, this being a button...it only goes min / max.
I ALSO have all the presets already on a text menu object, so I can just open that, and select the one I want...but... sometimes I like to scroll through effects, when I am looking for something to put on an instrument, and then tweak the effect to suit the song. This will be harder to do when my effect is not close to the listening position, and when I am closing my eyes to focus my ears on, of all things, the SOUND.
So there is the small challenge, to build a two button do-dad that will increment/ decrement an external device's program presets by one per each button press. (It's CC #32 in case y'all forgot)

Is it correct that the MX400 can function as 2 stereo units and bypass your soundcards A/D by going in through SPDIF?

Absolutely!!! That is why I bought it, well... that and the fact that it sound soooo good. I have always loved the Lexicon reverbs.
This one actually has 2 SPDIF I/Os one for each stereo processing engine!!!
I have it set up right now like this: SPDIF A I/O to my Digi002R.
No messing with inserts, at least not until I install my brand-new Allen & Heath in the studio I'm building right now.
And, yes, you can run three different engine options:
1. Stereo, where you can cascade two stereo effects any way you want (delay then verb, etc...)
2. Dual stereo, where your have 2 engines operating TOTALLY independent of each other, and have DIFFERENT I/Os, both digital SPDIF AND analog.
3. SURROUND, Yes, SURROUND!!! You can set this one up in different ways, like 1 input, 4 outputs (Front Left and Right, and Rear Left and Right)
Or two inputs, or four inputs...to four outputs, etc... This one uses both processing engines at once.
It is indeed a great value for the money. The effects sound SO good.

Value help does not work for ONE person only !

we have a strange problem. In the Web IC, we are using a standard value help for the country field for a Business Partner. This works fine for everyone (ie, it picks up the country and slots it into the field) except one person. For her, it never returns any value into the country field. We are guessing that it's not Web IC related but is something in her browser settings etc...but haven't been able to pin it down. Can anyone offer any advice on this ?

Hello Malcolm,
If this error occurs for one user only it's definitely related to the clients PC.
Did you already delete all temporary files and the cookies on that PC? Usually this does the trick!
If this does not solve the problem, try to let that particular user login on another PC where the problem does not occur. (If the error does occur on another PC too it's probably profile/authorization related)

If you want to change your iCloud ID to another existing ID you'll have to delete the account, create a new account with the other ID, and migrate your data to the new account. To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn all data you are syncing with iCloud (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off. When prompted choose to keep the data on your iPhone. (If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also open your iWork apps and turn off iCloud syncing and choose to keep the documents on your phone.) After everything is turned off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, set up a new iCloud account using your other ID, then turn syncing for your data (contacts, etc.) back to On. When prompted, choose Merge. This will upload the data to your new account.
This will not move your photo stream, however. If you have photos in photo stream that aren't in your camera roll and that you haven't backed up anywhere else you will need to save these before deleting the account. To do this, open your photo stream album on your iPhone in the thumbnail view, tap Edit, tap all the photos to select them, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. You can then delete the iCloud account and your photos will stay in your camera roll.

Make forums for moderators only available for moving for forums which Moderators understand

I see currently many questions moved by moderators to forums which are for 100% not related to the question.
Can this be avoided by giving moderators only rights to access forums from which they the topic understand.
It seems now they took the first one for which they have access rights to move, to get it out of their forums.

As far as I know, moderators can move to any forum.
I am not a moderator in a technical forum, so my experience may be different, but I tend to move to the "Where is the question for..." forum if I have no idea where a question belongs, and then let someone else suggest the right forum.
If I have an idea where the question belongs, I will still move to the "where is the forum" forum, and suggest the right forum.
If the OP requests, I will then move to the proper forum.
If someone else who has clear knowledge of the issue comes along and suggests a post be moved to a certain forum, I will do that as well.
I've done that on your suggestion before as well :)
I think that when you see issues of posts being moved to the wrong forum, and you believe it's done just to get the post pout of a forum, rather than to provide help, that you email a link to fissues, with your reasoning - it's the best way I know of
to get the forums owners involved.

Just adding more info - MacBookPro running 10.5.8 and using Safari as the browser. The problem comes and goes - sometimes the linked Word files will open OK, n others its just a strring of crazy characters...

iOS 6 can be loaded without problem on the 3GS. Not all features are supported however.
With respect to your reading people are having trouble, what did you expect to see on this technical support forum? People don't write in to state they have a trouble-free upgrade.

Thanks a lot for the reply, it's good to see that even the not-so-polite rant postings are taken serious and get attention. I think that most of us truly appreciate the platform SAP is providing, but we're a bit tired with some of the application features/limitations. So I hope nobody takes offense when we're venting a bit...

I neither understand the more input (for what and by whom) nor the here (this thread or this forum). The missing functionality for dealing with unanswered questions seems obvious enough. At least that should be one topic that everybody agrees on. I suspect that the same applies to the rather poor search capabilities. Though as we can see in the forums, lots of people apparently seem to prefer to quickly shoot some questions instead of wasting their time with any research...

Is that a polite way of saying keep on whining? If yes, then no problem, I think we all need to do that from time to time...
If the feedback from the community is truly important, I'd say that there should be a public system for posting bugs/feature requests on which people could vote. This should be prominently placed in the forums and would allow easier feedback. The voting feature could be used to possibly limit the bugs/requested features to look at (e.g. top ten list) and then be classified by SAP based on implementation effort (with the usual disclaimer that no feature might ever be implemented just because it's wanted). Needless to say that it should be easy to search for already existing requests, but in general I'd assume that fairly soon there would be more voting (on top requests) than posting new ones...
To channel requests and avoid too many silly postings in this bug/feature tool one could imagine using earned forum points possibly as a currency for putting a value to the requests (i.e. I could vote to say if feature A gets implemented I'd pay it with N forum points, which are deducted from my account once the feature is present). I'm not sure if that is a good idea, but at least it might ensure that people who truly care about the platform enter their comments. At least it seems that often systems, which implement some artificial monetary system and try to optimize on cost, yield very good results...

Hi. I am in need of advice - and am not very IT savvy! I have a MacBook Pro 10.6.8 OS. A site I use every day told me today it would only open in 32-bit mode. I researched and found some advice on how to choose 32-bit mode in system preferences. I do not have that box to click in system preferences. Can anyone tell me as to why suddenly this has happened, and any suggestions on how to go back to 32-bit mode would be great! I did try restarting holding down the 3 & 2 keys as suggested too. No luck. Thanks for any help.

Does the site use 32-bit mode Java? If that's the case, you should have both 32 and 64-bit enabled though Java Preferences in your Utilities folder:

Tried all the wi-fi suggestions on this board so far an no luck

I have the same issue alot of people are having. I use WPA encryption with a Netgear WPN824 wireless router and my IPT can see my network but cannot connect no matter what I try. I have scoured this discussion board and tried everything suggested.
1) Manually entering all the ip/subnet/router addresses etc.
2) Changing encryptions, even disabling temporarily. It still wouldn't connect even with no security.
3) Changing the router broadcast channel. No luck.
4) Put my IPT's MAC address into the router
1) Yes I am entering my password correctly. The letters it has are all lowercase so no need to fiddle with the shift key on the keypad.
One thing to note, before I tried what has turned out to be 6+ hours of monkeying around with this, there was no info entered when I pressed the > symbol next to my network name. Other people were saying this info was filled in for them. I have a TiVo that connects wirelessly with no problems and all the same information.
I am so frustrated at this point. Thank you anyone for any help you can give.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit")

No, it's done on the computer, it's just done on the web and not through iTunes. I guess you could do it on the iPhone, but it would be easier to do on the computer.
Just go to the site linked above, then click on the big blue button and fill out the neccessary information.
