This could be a BIG PROBLEM
Here's the deal;
Today I was watching movies on my MacBook - in windowsXP (bootcamp). I didn't have the notebook pluged in, it was using battery only. I've noticed that all played video was very choppy, as well as doing anything like opening files and folders - including moving the curser - it all was very choppy. Then I connected the power plug - and all went away. It was working well again.
I went back to the OSX and tried to do the same - watching movie and doing my usual stuff - and no problem when on battery power.
Does anyone know what's going on? Please help.

I hope it is only a bug in the Bootcamp setup. OSX doesn't exhibit any problems - pluged or unpluged.
I don't have any processes running when I was experiencing this - I checked and system was 99% idle - nothing running in the background. When I play the movie in a small window - it's relatively smoother - once I put it to full screen I can see the picture and sound studder - for a few seconds - then its smooth for a while then again studders - and so on.
the moment I plug it in - all good again .... hmmm

Any chance this is NOT a hardware problem?
I have a PowerBook (17", 1 gHz, 10.4.7) which has started having Kernal Panics and having the screen suddenly going black, requiring a forced restart to get back on. The PB is not shutting down (the num locks and cap lock keys still light) and the drive is still spinning.
In addition I am getting an occasional Kernal Panic. The one in which a report was written says,

More often than not the Kernel Panic's are caused by bad or incompatible Ram. (Not Always) but most of the time.
Running Hardware test, will not always show an issue with bad ram.
The first thing I would try is Repair Permissions, here is Gullivers Link on System maintence.

Just updated to itunes 12.1.0.71 - big problem - can no longer access the legacy "Get Info" where you could change multiple files, easily add artwork, add album name for TV show, and much more. In previous iTunes 12 you'd right click and hold shift key and be able to get to it. Anyone figured this out?
The "legacy" metadata editors, for which there was a "back door" in iTunes 12.0, have gone from 12.1. However, the revised editors in 12.1 provide access to (almost) all the metadata elements that were available in iTunes 11, albeit in a different layout and with some additional constraints based on media kind. Some users have / will have an issue with the statement that "Get Info has been completely redesigned in iTunes 12 to focus your attention only on what’s necessary for the selected item" since that removes some metadata elements that people may have been using in creative ways. iTunes 12.1 basically gives you access to the fields that Apple think are necessary ... . Some of the things that have been excluded by this rule:
track and disc number fields for video media kinds
show and episode fields for music
description tab for audiobooks made up of more than one file
Obviously the first two examples can be regarded as "overloading" the metadata elements - i.e., using them in ways that the designers didn't intend - but given that some users do find valid cases for this it's a shame that they've been deprecated in the new UI. There are couple of workarounds:
in songs view (or any of the other columnar views), you can still select any fields to display, independent of media kind, and these can be edited (though only one at a time) by double-clicking in the relevant "cell"
you can (temporarily) change the media kind of an item (or group of items) to get access to metadata elements that would otherwise be inaccessible.
It may be worth submitting an issue via https://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html - I can't see it as a huge development task to have a user preference to switch between "show all fields" and "filter fields based on media kind".
One other oddity/irritation is that some of the tabs don't, by default, show all the available fields - you need to scroll up/down to access them or to expand the window by dragging on one of its corners. Fortunately, the latter seems to be persistent - once you've done this to make all the fields visible the editor will open at the same (larger) size when opened again. -
I am trying to install iTunes on my PC (using Windows 8.1), but I get this error: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." The iTunes file (64-bit) I am trying to install, is named "iTunes64Setup.exe". What seems to be the problem? Help!

I have tried all the recommend solutions I could find in the Apple Support Community. I noticed a couple of weeks ago the iPad was acting funny about connecting to the internet via the Wi-Fi. The past two days, it wasn't able to connect to the wireless router at all. It recognizes that the wireless router network exists, it just can't join. I tried the re-boot method. I have re-set the network setting on the iPad back to factory. I even thought my old wireless router may have issues and bought a new one yesterday, and the iPad actually worked for about 24 hours and now I am back to the iPad not being able to connect to the wireless router. I have re-entered the wireless router from scratch thinking that there may have been a bug in the setup. I have removed the security settings from the wireless router to see if that may have prevented the iPad from connecting but got the same message "Unable to Join". I have cleared the cookies and data, as that was also a recommended fix, but that didn't work. I also connected the iPad to the computer so that I could check for the latest update. iPad has the latest version, so that solution didn't work. Does anyone out there got any other ideas, or are you experiencing the same problem? Is there some known issue that I am not aware of???

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

when I installed iTunes 10.6 to windows 7, during the process i got this message -" There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run" and after that the setup closed automatically. Plaese tell me if any setting up of windows is in order.

Also, try searching/posting in the iTunes forum since you do not have an iPod problem. -

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time? -
I'm trying to install iTunes 10.3 on my PC (windows vista) and I keep getting this message, "There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.

My apple Tv will not airplay, this is the 3rd one i have exchanged and my devices airplay just fine elsewhere, could there be a problem with the wifi even though all of the other functions are working fine?
