This device not supported on my new(ipad3 ?) ipad?

But it is!
I have a Apple device that plugs into my ipad/s and outputs a HDMI signal to my 32" monitor.
I bought it for my iPad 2. When using it on my iPad 3 or (whatever you want to call it) I get a msg.
This Accessory Not Supported, I then touch OK and the HDMI works and it charges at the same
time.
Bug?

Try cleaning your dock connector.

  • How can I get my stereo to play music videos from my Ipod Nano?  It comes up with the message "This device not supported".  Strangely my Iphone IS recognised.  The stereo, Ipod, and Iphone are less than 4 months old. Any suggestions welcome!

How do I get my Ipod to play music videos through my theatre system?  I keep getting the message "This device not supported".  My theatre system WILL recognise my Iphone however.  The theatre system, Ipod, and Iphone are all less than 4 months old.  Any suggestions welcome!

Check with the theater system vendor and see if their system is compatible with the Nano. The resolution on the Nano may be too low for the system.

  • HT204368 I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that is suddenly not able to connect to my New iPad. It worked fine for a few eeks and now I get the previously unseen "This device not supported by iPad" message. It was supported for three weeks. Thanks

Most of the question is in the discussion header. I have a Tango TRX bluetooth speaker that worked fine for three weeks with my third generation iPad. I started having trouble connecting and recieved the "not supported by iPad" message. It connects just fine until I open any app that requires sound and at thet point I recieve the message and the device disconnects. The Tango still pairs flawlessly with my laptop which is not an Apple product. How could a product suddenly become unsupported?

Try a reset. Press & hold the Power and Home buttons simultaneously, ignoring the red power off slider, until the Apple logo appears. Then release both buttons. This should not affect any content on the iPad, it is similar to rebooting your computer.

  • "This device not supported" msg when connecting camera

I just tried plugging in my (four year old) Canon Digital Elph via the USB connector (30 pin male to USB female) and got the "device not supported" msg on my iPad2
    Are only recent cameras supported?

    keyboardoperator wrote:
The camera connector I'm using is one I bought some years back to connect a camera to an iPod Photo. It looks to be the same as the current one, however.
Could this be a connector issue rather than a camera issue?
Yes, it's a connector issue. The connector you have doesn't work with the iPad, as you've discovered. It doesn't work with any iOS device. You need the iPad Camera Connector Kit. It has two different dongles, one to connect a USB cable, the other, an SD card.

  • This device not supported

A friend of mine has an iMac running Tiger. He can use iPhoto to back up to DVD, but the same operation fails when using iTunes.
He selects a playlist, iTunes confirms it, a blank DVD is inserted and then the following messsage appears:
"This device is not supported for the requested burn operation"
    Any ideas?

    David:
I had a similar problem after installing a new superdrive in my G4 (the original optical drive just burned CDs). When I had the superdrive installed I was running 10.2. Eight months after having the drive installed I upgraded to 10.3.0. Then I got the message that the drive was not supported when trying to burn a CD. I then discovered that the DRIVE came with software and after checking the CD that came with the drive I found software for 10.2 and 10.3.2. I then installed the software for 10.3.2 and upgraded my operating system from 10.2.0 to 10.2.3. The drive's burning capability was restored. No more problems.

  • HT1349 Intermittently when I connect my iPhone to my ihome I get "this device not supported by iPhone".  Why does this happen and what is the fix?

Intermittently my iPhone doesn't recognize my ihome and it says"this device isn't supported by iPhone".  This is so annoying, any suggestions?

Might be a dirty dock connector on your phone.  Try gently brushing it with a clean, dry toothbrush and/or blowing on it with a can of compressed air.
