This Installation Package could not be open, Verify you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package.
I try a lot of options to install itunes or quicktime and give me the same message. Other programs i install normally.

Try right clicking on the installer and select run as administrator.

whem installing itunes on my mums new computer which is windows 7 i get this message everytime "this installation package could not be opened. Verifiy that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package"

    Let's check your Windows system.
    1.  Have you done all the important windows updates and service Packs on your system.  If not do it now.  START button, type in Windows Update and ENTER.  Select 'CHECK FOR UPDATES'
    2.  Let's check your Windows system files for possible file corruption
SCAN and repair possible Windows system file corruption:
Go to command prompt (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES right mouse click "command prompt" and choose "Run as Administrator"
    type in
    sfc /scannow
let Windows fix any system files that need to be repaired.
Restart the computer if it did actually repair any files.
    3.  Check your system for possible Malware.  But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

Does anyone know, how to fix  ' This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the applikcation vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." ?

At what point in the process are you getting this message? Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of the iTunes setup file from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • This installation package could not be opened...

I am on the verge of tears. I am so frustrated and not having any fun.
I got my green iPod nano for Christmas. It's very pretty and very shiney and tiny and cute.
I have a couple of problems with it.
    First thing first:
iTunes will not download for me. I'm running off Windows XP. I download the program and it tells me, EVERY time. "This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it."
I read not being Adminstrator could be the problem. But I am the Adminstrator. So, that's not it.
I updated Windows Installer, deleted every iTunes set up, deleted Quick Time (like some people said) and updated Windows. Nothing. I'm still having problems.
It says the same thing every time.
I even had a friend upload it for me, and then I tried to download it. That didn't work either. My dad has a Mac, so, he said he'd try to burn it do a CD. That didn't work because his computer is a Mac.
I also turned off my firewall and virus protectors, because I read that could be the problem too. Still...nothing.
I used EphPod, but that doesn't recgonize my music and tells me I need an Ipod directory thing...
And then I used Internet Explorer, reading that sometimes Firefox has issues. THAT didn't work either.
So, that's my problem. Does anyone know how to let my computer download anything?
    Second problem:
Windows Media seemed to recognize my iPod and it was putting music on it. But when I look at it, there's nothing listed in my iPod, but I only have 1.8GB left out of 3.6GB. I need to clare the DB but I need iTunes.
Please help me. I can't find any direct advice anyway, and nothing anyone is telling me to do is working.

    Hi,
Have you make any change to your system before this problem occures? You can try to make system restore to revert your system to a former normal time point to fix this problem.
In addition, you can try to use sfc /scannow command to fix system componments for test. If no use, using
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth instead.

  • This installation package could not be opened. error

Ok, so i just bought a new hard disk with better memory, speed etc, and i installed windows vista 64 bit version on it. i had a 32 bit version on another hard disk but the hard disk is so bad i cant acces it anymore. So i download java and then when its installing it says this: "This installation package could not be opened. Verify the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer package."
I have tryed ALOT of sulotions, downloading offline version, disaling firewall, auto protect norton, UAC, downloading other wersions of java but nothing works!!!! im getting tired of these error messages and i need a proper solution now!

So i download java and then when its installing it saysThis is kind of an obvious suggestion, but are you sure you downloaded the correct 64bit version for Windows? Check if you need the x86_64 version or the IA 64 bit version.

  • Can't download itunes - "this installation package could not be opened.....

please help!!. I cannot download the itunes 7.4.2 (?) i get the error
"this installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package."
I am so frustrated. I tried everything and cannot download the new itunes. I got the new nano video and can't even use it!

no, I never have resolved it. I spent 1 1/2 hrs on the phone with apple and couldn't figure it out. they finally said it must be something with my windows installer - but I have no problem downloading/installing any other programs.
    go figure.
