This is a ditto... but Inserting Camtasia movies (MP4-Flash) into Captivate (a path or JS challenge)

I’m using Captivate v. 6 and Camtasia v. 8
I’ve created Camtasia movies as MP4 – Flash.
My Captivate project is a SCORM housed on an LMS (SyberWorks) for the company’s internal intranet.
In Captivate I’ve inserted/imported movies as Event Videos, Progressive Download with a playbar/skin.
Movies are housed on same directory level as the .html and .swf zipped files.
Path to video files are relative (ie)
Z:\Orgs\ogslp\Courses\2012DfltPrvnt\Test 6 Flash with controller2.mp4
I did find the following note on Adobe’s site:
Note: If your Adobe Captivate project contains FLV/F4V files, ensure that the files contain metadata for the video player to function correctly. FLV/F4V files created with Flash Communication Server 1.5.2, FLV Exporter version 1.2, and Sorenson Squeeze® 4.0 automatically contain metadata. Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 is included with the Flash Video Kit. If you import an FLV file that does not have any metadata, the file will not play correctly in your project.
and am waiting for the IT department to get a copy of Adobe Media Encoder so I can embed javascript into my mp4/Flash Movies.
The movies of course play very well off my hard drive, but not off the LMS, a deja vu from the link below.
So… is my issue a path issue or do I simply need to embed javascript into my video(s), or perhaps both?

And PS, why are no videos showing up in the video manager? I can see them in the author slides, but not in the manager.

This is a reply to my own message. A work around that will allow our team to move forward is to make a screen capture of a screen capture. We have content experts who are equipped with Camtasia. These folks will make their narrated movies. I'll then capture their movies with Captivate's screen capture by following: Insert > Recording Slide. Google Chrome of course has the Flash player installed by default so I open the mp4 (M4V) or FLV movie via Chrome and use Captivate's Recording Slide, choose Video Demo option. This gets me a Camtasia screen capture into Captivate. Import audio on its own and it matches up with my test of a movie 1 minute long (longer videos might slip out of sync - will test this).
However, the movie does not have the convenient playbar attached, so video navigation/control can be gained via a Captivate playbar for the slide itself. This offers a double set of navigation options b/c I also created my own set of navigation controls with Flash, but with a simple set of instructions users will know to use bottom playbar for video control and my flash buttons for slide navigation. Its a bit clunky, but this is what I have for now until the engineers have time to target the following:

How do I insert Fireworks Slideshow (non flash) into Dreamweaver?

I have been trying to import a slideshow from flash that I created from the built in template. I used the player that does not require a flash plug in and I cannot figure out how to insert it into my webpage in Dreamweaver. When I post the code directly it says that I have to enable java script? I am new to dreamweaver/fireworks and coding. I know that it should be simple, but I have not been able to figure it out. Thank you for any help you can offer!

Inserting flash into Captivate

I have a flash (swf) file that I want to insert into my
captivate that starts out Invisible (Transparent) it has a hotspot
on it when you roll over that hotspot the body of the flash shows.
Basically I'm trying to have a hide show layer on a specific
screen. Since I can't do hide show, Im using flash. I made a
scenario button when they mouse over that button it activates the
flash and the the scenario appears. The problem is that my flash
file starting 'active' where the scenario shows, when I mouseover
it, it hides and then works how it should.

Umm, have you tried rollover captions or rollover images?
These can be totally transparent with a reveal occurring when the
user mouses over the hotspot area.
Just wondering why these wouldn't accomplish what you are
looking for.

How do I insert a movie file using SWF?

I am 100% new to Golive and have been asked to upload a video (linked on youtube) to a webpage for my company's website. I used the SWF feature and typed in the URL. I couldn't get it to display and I don't know what step I am missing and have only the native help files to go by. It is probably very simple but I am really lost. Please help.

I have a couple of steps for you to try in order to get those songs transferred to your iPod touch. First, make sure all of your software is updated with the latest versions. If the songs were downloaded from iTunes, you will also want to delete the songs from your library and then download them again from the list of past purchases on your iTunes account. If you try a sync after those two steps and are still seeing the issue, then I would like you to try syncing the iPod by setting it to manually manage. An article outlining more information on manually managing your iPod sync can be found here:

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, either get a sim card from the carrier your phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked

If your Home Button works, you should be able to reset - press the Home and Main button at the same time for 15 sec. Then press the main button for 2sec to have it restart.
Do what I said earlier:
I would advice you to go to the link I sent you above: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do and ask for an exception.
I don't promise that they'll change it but they may, mainly if the problem of the Home Button is going on since more than half a year (still within the one year warranty) and you just explain that you did not know that you could have changed it at the time and now it's completely dead.
If you really want to recover all your stuff and are living in the US, you should go to the nearest Genius bar and see what they can do.

I just want to use a picture as my DVD cover, and then insert a slideshow. Also, when I try to burn my 8.5gb double sided slideshow, all that burns is the music. It is a large slideshow, a memorial on the life of my now deceased brother. This means a lot to me and to my family, and I am having so much trouble trying to burn it. I have gone into Project View and selected appropriately. The bar shows I have room to burn this DVD, but it does not burn. I have burned so many DVDs in the past, but this one just will not burn. I am so confused at this point. I will say this is the first 8.5gb I have attempted to create and burn. My specs list a 7.7gb or 4.7gb as operable....but there are no 7.7gb dvds. I had to purchase 8.5gb. Help? What am I doing wrong? I have spent so much time on this, and just cannot figure it out.

Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor. The pro version of iMovie.
Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow. It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them. You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it. If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version). Personal preferences showing here.

JVC GRD72U DV camcorder recognised on Imac but cannot upload movies...??

I have the JVC as lisetd above and when I tried to install the disc to my new intel Imac, the installation dsic states that the "classic" format is not compatible...so I cannot install the drivers....when I plug the camera in through USB, the camera stills can be downloaded from the memory card in the camcorder (which are dreadful quality anyway) but there is no reference as to the moving pictures on the tape....any suggestions re getting the movies onto my hard drive for editing....also I have a Sony DVD92E style camcorder and, of course, I cannot insert the mini dvd discs into the slot on the Imac side...any siggestions as to getting the dvd content onto the hard drive - the only leads which can be plugged in is the AV connection - no firewire or USB.....excellent eh ??? I suppose I could buy an external drive for tray mount upload but are they not expensive and will the Imac recognise the discs.....
so many questions....MAAAAAAAN ! please help as I'm about to go on ebay and just buy a HDD camcorder to plug and play....is that not meant to be what the Mac experience is all about....gawd I get so used to that...! ???

yip, according to the manual there is a "digital Video Connector (DV IN /OUT) (I.Link)" which would , from what you say suggest that is the firewire !!!! yeehah.....
any particular brand / style I should buy for my Imac or are they pretty much the same....
basically I want to plug in..... import to my hard drive....drag into I-movie and go....
sorry but I'm new to all this but getting there slowly !!

Insert HD Movie in PDF on Mavericks

Hi,
I can insert a video or HD movie in Pages and a PDF. The clips play in Pages but does not in the PDF.
Previously, there was a tab under "Tools" where we could insert a movie in a PDF and play it. This feature is no longer supported in Mavericks.
Is it in another location?
Can anyone assist please.

The solution was to search for the movie through iTunes as opposed to going through the purchased list. Once I found it in iTunes on his iPod, I selected the buy button and then it prompted me for the credential and then identified that it had already been purchased on another family device.
