UPDATE and additional info: This problem is still occurring.
Apply have been completely unhelpful so far, after a second phone call, I was just told (again) to restart my MBP, unpair and repair my mouse, and insert fresh batteries. I've also done the SMC and PRAM resets several times.
I'm using my MBP in clamshell mode connected to a BenQ GL2460 monitor. Running my MBP slightly ajar seems to temporarily help with he mouse lagginess but the problem soon reoccurs.
I've tested my mouse on a friends earlier model non updated MBP and the mouse works fine.
I went out a bought a Microsoft USB mouse and the same lagginess happens with it, albeit a lot worse.
I'm currently running both mice connected via bluetooth, which actually seems to be minimising the magic mouse lagginess, but the Microsoft mouse is still very laggy. So I wonder what having two mice connected simultaneously is doing?

If your iPhone is restarting unexpectedly, I recommend starting with step three in this troubleshooting guide:

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.

I have tried to clean up my files and saved them to a external hard drive.
My startup disk is saying its full, yet i have deleted all files to trash and then emptied trash.
the storage is showing typical things like photos, movies, apps and 75GB of other.
how can i clean up the disk to get back the full storage space?

Experts here recommend Omnidisksweeper for identifying hidden files. I haven't tried it personally but try a search through the forum for more feedback on this product.
Be very careful with what application you choose regardless as many are worse than unreliable causing damage to the operating system itself. If you purchase a third party application for this venture make sure you buy it direct from the developer's website. Also make sure you have a working backup and you fully understand what it is you're deleting so you don't brick your Mac!

Update to 10.4.3 now hangs my system all the time -- how do I fix this?

I've read so many threads in these forums. I've run repair disk / Disk Utility, I've run repair permissions/Disk Utility, I've run Cocktail's Pilot daily, even hourly, and restarted each time in order to remove cache files and STILL I have my system crashing constantly. It doesn't matter whether I'm using Mail, Safari or any other application that doesn't access the Net. It happens whether I'm hooked up to the Net or not.
I need to post this quickly before it hangs again. This happened right after I updated to 10.4.3. Anybody got any suggestions? I'm getting desperate enough to return to my XP machine which is turning out to be more reliable. I don't want to do that. Help?!

Thanks for your comments. No, the Sonnet board is fully compatible with Tiger, no firmware updates are necessary. And it's freezing cold in my office, plenty of air around the Cube, heat can be a problem, for sure.
I was using MacJanitor first, then switched to Cocktail per some one else's recommendations here in the forum. I'll check out the utilities you mentioned.
It's such a p-i-t-a to backup, erase and do a clean install. It seems to me that this update is the worst to have ever come out of Apple. There are posts all over the place with the problems it is causing everywhere. [sigh]

Did you try all of this:
iTunes Store loads partially or returns "Error 306" or "Error 10054"
Proxies, parental control settings and software, security or filtering software, or a bad iTunes Store cache can cause this.
To address proxies, Remove Internet Options proxy settings and connect to the Internet without a proxy.
To reset iTunes Store cache:
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences (Mac) or Edit > Preferences (PC).
Click the Advanced tab.
Click the "Reset cache" button.
Click OK and see if the issue is resolved.
Adjust Parental Controls in iTunes:
Open iTunes.
Access iTunes preferences:
On a Mac: From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences.
On a Windows PC: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Parental Controls tab.
Remove restrictions on Parental Controls.

The answer depends on a number of factors, such as the following:
If you have more than one email account, does this problem affect one, some, or all of your accounts?
Where did you last see this mail -- in your Inbox(es)? in some other folder(s) outside your Inbox(es)? somewhere else?
How old is the missing email -- yesterday? just before you got the new computer? over a week? over a month? over a year?
How are you reading email -- with the builtin Mail application? with some other mail-reading application? with a web browser?
How do you access your email on the server -- IMAP? POP? Exchange? web browser? other?
What version of OS X is on your new computer -- Mavericks (10.9.x)? Mountain Lion (10.8.x)?
Did you migrate your data and applications from your old computer when you set up your new computer?
For example, if the missing mail is the mail that was in your Inbox before you got the new computer, you are reading it with the builtin Mail via POP, and you failed to migrate data, then the mail was left behind on the old computer. The same would be true if the mail was in "On My Mac" mailboxes and you failed to migrate data.
