THIS IS A TRAGEDY!!!!HELP
ok so heres the story:
My cousin got an iPod nano for christmas, and downloaded songs from MY iTunes onto his nano. When he got home, he tried to download the songs from his nano onto HIS iTunes on his computer. In the process he some how deleted all the songs on his nano, and is now left with nothing on his nano and no songs on his iTunes. Is there anyway I can send him my iTunes library so that he can get his songs back? HELP!!!!!!!!!
Hazmat, what you & your cousin are doing is considered to be illegal file sharing, that is why iPods were made to prevent sharing between 2 computers like your cousin has attempted to do. You probably will not get much help with this issue as any discussion of how t do this is against "the terms of use" of these forums. PLEASE DON'T STEAL MUSIC!

After that, I tried the app store again, and it still is giving me the unknown error. really irked by that. may have to take it back to the apple store yet again, to see if i can figure out why the app store won't work. -

but i got music from my old laptop and my little brothers laptop so basically its no way i can take whats already on my ipod and put it on my computer and drag and drop it to my new itunes library

I made a dumb decision to 'Erase Free Space' on my drive. I now have no free space, I realize because it wrote 0's over all my free space. Is there a way to undo this??? Help please I can't save any documents now! Thanks in advance all, it is truly appreciated. how can find the hidden temporary files using the terminal what do i type in?
It's more likely a failed Erase Free Space, which creates a huge temporary file; that's why it looks like you have no more available drive space. You can recover from this. See these links

I am trying to setup iCloud account and when I login I see a popup. The Maximum number of free accounts have been activated on this iPhone. Pls, help me fix it. What other accounts? Thanks
Then you'll have to use another iOS device or Mac running OS X Lion or higher to create a new account for you to use on your phone. If you don't have one, perhaps a friend would allow you to create and account on their device (note: this will use one of their three maximum accounts). To do this, they would need to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which will delete the account from their device but not from iCloud), then allow you to sign back in with your ID to create the new account. Then tap Delete Account to delete the new account from their device, and finally, sign back in with their iCloud ID to restore their iCloud account to their device. Then you can sign in with your ID on your phone in Settings>iCloud and use the new account.

this may happen on external drives if:
The external drive was hotpluged (removed) without going the correct "eject" way
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for external drive
Close iTunes
Unmount (eject) external drive the right way.
Mount drive again
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up" This will force the filesystem to rescan the file structure of the drive and rebuilding the file system table and journaling file.
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive) restart iTunes
If your iTunes library is on your internal drive, this may happen
The system was not shoot down correct, e.g. "pulled the plug"
The iTunes library (database) got corrupted
First Aid for internal hard drive
Close iTunes
Reboot system
Go to Workplace -> right click external drive -> choose "clean up"
After the tool shows "done" (could last some time depending on size of drive)
Reboot system, restart iTunes
If none of the above fixes your problem, post here.

The old Apple ID (presumably your dads) owns those songs and your new Apple ID does not. However, your dad can authorize your iD to use the songs by going to Store > Authorize This Computer from your iTunes menu and entering his Apple ID and password.

It sounds like it still has her information on it, so it might be efficient to navigate to Settings, then General, then Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. You can then set up the phone again, using your information. This way the phone will be yours, officially, and her data and information will be removed.

Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

I recently tried syncing a video to my Ipod touch 2nd gen and it displays the message "video was not copied because it cannot be played on this Ipod" in Itunes. Since upgrading to ios4 I have been having problems with my itouch. Now some pod casts will not download. Some, like BBC Radio 4 Friday Night Comedy, I have been downloading and playing for months without any problem. I now get the message "cannot be played on this ipod". I have not tried downloading through itunes but this doesn't really help me as I like to download podcasts at coffeshops etc as I want to listen to them. I feel that there are serious problems with ios4 that Apple is not addressing. Has anyone come up with a fix as I see others having similar trouble? I have already tried resting the itouch but all I accomplished was losing a lot of data from some of my apps.
