This is completely useless.

Bought into the monthly CC program yesterday.
Still not able to use Photoshop CC 2014 AT ALL. It just silently quits a few seconds after it loads up. No errors. No errors listed in Event Viewer. Nothing. It just quits.
Not a single solution works. Uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times. I have tried 4 different driver versions for my video card. I've run Furmark overnight with no trouble. Ran a couple of hours worth of memtest86 with not a single errors. My CPU is error-free. My hard drives are error free, including the SSD. Windows is fully patched and updated and it less than a week old as far as installation time goes.
Very disappointing to buy something and have it not work. Even more disappointing to try and get help, but all you get are "it's your hardware!" no matter how many times people have shown that Photoshop is literally the only thing having the issue. Bridge works. CC Apps works. Everything else works EXCEPT Photoshop CC 2014.
All products are up to date according to Adobe Cloud app.
No wonder people pirate this software. I resisted the urge to "borrow" Photoshop and instead opted to support the developer, but now it simply does not work.

I know I am speaking to other users for the most part. I know how forums work.
In my very first post to this forum, which you claim to have read, I explain that there are no reported errors in Event Viewer. Sarcasm is oft difficult to discern in a text medium such as forums and the like. Some people who take forums too seriously will always take slight levity to mean hostility, especially when they do not understand the particular text which set them off. Been there. Done that. Got the T-Shirt. Live and learn.
I see, now, that it *CAN* work. I also see that it does not. Not sure what it could specifically dislike about my system when there is literally nothing else having any sort of issue with crashing without explanation.
I've done the Ctrl-Alt-Shift launch to clear defaults and it has no effect.
Noel, do not take me as being angry. I am simply disappointed. In fact, I've not reached true frustration yet as this isn't so critical that I need to pull out my hair.
My humor is sort of dry and sometimes trollish, but it's not meant to deride Adobe. It's just to be sure people understand that the product isn't working and blaming hardware for the software's failure to operate on it isn't going to solve the core issue.

    There are alternatives. But none of them have Google street view, able to work on iOS 6. Apple should have offered this as a beta version, for a few more months instead of inflicting us with an inferior product. This iPad will probably be my last Apple product. A shame, because until last a few days ago, I thought the iPad and iPhone were fantastic.
    Apple should quit their petty squabbling with, Google and Samsung and concentrate on supplying the best product.
    Google and Samsung must be enjoying this particular fiasco.

The bottom line is that I'll stay away from apple, because they basically make it so the devices control you, and you don't control the devices. I've even jail broken to try and fix this. I need my USB drives to work as they have many folders. Formatting doesn't work, so it is definetly down to the software and it's restrictions.

    The camera connection kit is to be used to connect a camera or an SD card and transfer photos/video. You can't fault them for something that happened to work and doesn't any longer. There are drives like the seagate available if you need access to extra storage

    I am only a fellow ordinary user of Firefox & XP, but maybe the problem is on your machine, rather than needing a fix from firefox. If you take a little time to read this you may be able to sort out the problems yourself.
    I hope you do not mind me covering a few basics:
    * the [[Search bar]] { <-- clickable link -- ] is designed to produce a lot or results, whereas
    *the [[Location bar search|Location Bar]] is a lot more specific and may be [[Location bar autocomplete#w_controlling-behavior|set]] to include or exclude History & or [[bookmarks]]
    If you are getting literally 1000s of totally unrelated results you may need to consider [[Is my Firefox problem a result of malware]]
    Hope to hear that you have solved the problem, or a bit more detail about what still is a problem.

  • Lock front panel until the event case for this event completes

    A Dynamic Event is a filtered event? Is this why "Lock front panel until the event case for this event completes" is not shown on Edit Event window dialog? I use Dynamic Event so I can subvi the event structure.
    I need stop my app from locking the FP whenever the user double clicks on the numerical array value (<-- the FP freezes the mouse and renders it useless) and stops the value from ever being changed. This event is registered for Value Change (not mouse up or down) and I get a locked mouse. As yet in the UI, no value changed occurs but I get a locked mouse. A LV bug?
    Trying to KISS, I can see this fixing this by moving ONLY the value change event to the top level VI instead of a dynamic registered event in a subVI. This will give me the option to NOT "Lock front panel until the event case for this event completes" .

    Its situation like what you described that has given me many insights into how LV actually works. In one of my bbuggy VI's I found that a class wire can run a million miles through multiple sub-VI queues etc but the data itself is only touched when it has to be touched. in my case it was a crash while trying to write bogus class dat to a TDMS file.

    The hype over Photos in the months preceding its release was that it would be a powerhouse app, the only one you would ever need, a melding of Aperture and iPhotos of all the best parts.  What a load of crap!
    I have tens of thousands of photos organized by File Name, which was imported in some Metadata mess, but which I can not sort my photos by, and which I cannot view as a "Title".  My whole library hinges on the File Name and my ability to organize my photos my File Name. 
    Stars: I use Stars to signify priority of my photos, and when a priority level of a photo changes, so does the Star rating.  I don't want to have to dream up Key Words in place of my stars.
    In the past I have imported photos from both my iPhone and my camera, imported them into iPhoto, deleted them from my iPhone, exported them to an external folder where at my leisure I carefully edit and assign the appropriate File Name to each photo, once complete, the Photos were brought back into iPhoto ... File Names and all. 
    They were then sorted and organized by File Name ... do you see a pattern here?
    I need to view the File Name as a title so that I know which photo is which, because on the surface many look so very similar.  I then synch select photos back to iCloud and into various albums on my iPad.  Had a system down with iPhoto, and apparently it is a system which does not exist on Photos, which apparently I need to use now to get my photos synched back onto my iPad and iPhone as needed.
    Unless someone can show me that I'm just stupid and not figuring this out, and screwing around trying to deal with this is costing me time and money I don't have ... this new Photos app is completely useless to me and Apple ought to consider trashing this thing, bring back iPhotos on the Mac and convert iOS to iPhotos on iPhone and iPad.

    Why use it then? Use iPhoto still as I am doing. I am still running Aperture also. I have no interest in Photos as yet. But at least I read the release notes on it properly first, which you obviously failed to do.

    This explains how to change your ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621.  After changing your ID you will need to go to Settings>iCloud, delete the existing account (which only deletes it from your device, not from iCloud), then sign back in with the new ID.  To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll before deleting the existing account.
    If you are signed into your account on your Mac, you will need to go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID.

    I booted up my computer and opened up my usual shortcuts.  I got a message from iTunes that a new version was available and would I like to download it.  I clicked on "yes".  It took over 1/2 hour to download and now ALL of my songs sound like a skipping record or like they are tripping over themselves.  I uninstalled the ITunes and tried reinstalling my old version.  I've tried EVERYTHING I could think of to get my old version back but everytime I go through the download process I get a message saying that - the file "iTunes Library.itl "cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.  I was finally able to download a version that will open but it has the same "skipping" problem.  How do I stop/fix this or COMPLETELY get rid of this version of iTunes and re-download what I had???  I'm REALLY distressed.      Jim

    Usually, the exclamation mark tells you that the song was not where the program expected to find it. It may also mean that there was an error with the file itself.
       If you click on the exclamation mark, it may give you a reason. You can also double click the file to make it play. If the file is not found, it will tell you. Just follow the prompts to look for the song again. It will ask you if you want to look for the other missing songs in the same folder. You can do it, but unfortunately, the last few updates have made the program blind to the songs that are there and you sometimes have to do the same process for each song.
       If neither of these help, I would suggest starting from scratch and reinstalling iTunes. I have had to do that before. Do your best to back up the library and such first.
       Sometimes a computer will rename a hard disk (Windows) and all the songs on that disk will be gone to iTunes because it will think it's looking in the right place. It can't recognize that the hard disk or partition has been renamed.
    I know that this is a podcast, but the principle is the same. A dialogue box should pop up to tell you just what the problem is.

    My iPad2 works great now after IOS 8.1 Update
    I did my iPad2 update thru iTunes on my iMac and it was sucking the iMacs memory very low during the update. Safari froze before loading the first web page and I did a hard boot and went fishing as I saw where it was going to take a long time to recover. When I tried again it wasn't quite right and then did one more hard boot and then did a Reset by going to General-Reset-"Reset all Settings" and it works real well now without loosing any data and in-home wi-fi clocks at 17Mbps download. Probably like most of you I’m sticking with OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks as it gets the job done very nicely and don’t need all that extra fancy stuff that probably will slow things down.

    Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
    Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
    If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?

    In our system, I found the SAP ID DDIC is locked, but the batch job with this ID completed correctly everyday, such as batch jobs RDDEXECL, SAP_APPLICATION_STAT_COLLECTOR, SAP_COLLECTOR_FOR_PERFMONITOR etc.
    Is there anyone know why?

    Did you uninstall iTunes and all other Apple related software using the instructions in this Apple support document?
