I try and run the following download but I get the old "this
is not a valid win32 app"?

Any ideas?

What OS are you using?
That download opens fine on my WinXP SP3 machine.

I just cleaned out my HD and reinstalled Windows XP. In trying to install iTunes I get a message saying that the ITunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 app, and the installation doesn't happen.

Most folks have seen this caused by bad wireless router settings. They connected directly to their cable modem and were able to download a valid setup file, after bypassing the wireless router. Perhaps that will work for you.
Another idea is to find a friend who was able to download it successfully, and copy iTunesSetup.exe from their PC to a USB stick, so you can get it on your PC.

Hello, I've been trying to install two versions of BDS, and both download fine, but upon clicking on the icon to install, I get the error message: "(name of app) is not a valid Win32 application".....does anyone know what the heck this means and how to fix it? Thanks much, Aaron Worley

LR4 LS11.exe not a valid Win32 app

I downloaded the file Lightroom_4_LS11.exe. When I start the file I get the error message "Lightroom_4_LS11.exe is not a valid Win32 application". I have downloaded severa times, turned off virus protection SW, and rebooted. Nothing seems to make a difference. How do I get this file to run?

I downloaded the file a few more times and it finally ran without the error. I have no idea why it took so many attempts.

As i double click on the desktop shortcut to open itunes, i get an error message which is the following: 'mymusic/itunes.exe is not a valid win32 application'. I now cannot access itunes or any of my media/music!
Background... I updated to the latest version of itunes, downloaded a few apps and music and re-synced my iPod touch. I then clicked on itunes store, and itunes just closed down and would then not reopen and now repeats the error message everytime.
I have attempted to repair itunes by downloading the setup software again, i have also tried removing itunes from my pc with the intention to re-install all over again, however it wont let me uninstall itunes either!!
Anybody have any suggestions?

Can you open iTunes if you go to Program Files\iTunes and double click on iTunes.exe.
If so, you can create a new short cut by right clicking on iTunes.exe and selecting Send to>>Desk top(create short cut)

Everytime I try to Install itunes 8.1 it says 'Not a valid win32 app'

I've tried at least ten times installing itunes.It previously got wiped off my pc due to a malfunction.Everytime i click run it says the location where it's stored ItunesSetup[2].exe is not a valid win32 application and won't install!

Also, if your using a router of any kind, by pass it and use a Ethernet cable from your modem to the computer. Like you I tried up to 15 times in downloading Version 8 not 8.1, and it was the only way I was successful in downloading and installing.
I received the same error message plus other including Signature not valid.
I will be staying away from 8.1

Blackberry Desktop Error - Not a valid Win32 Application - HELP

Hi, I have tried to download several versions of the blackberry desktop software and I keep getting an error saying the executable is not a valid win32 application.
I am using windows 7 and tried to run the executable as administrator.
I also tried to run the CD which came with the phone, and it gets to the install button and nothing happens.

The FF 3.6.13 install download fails - "not a valid win32 app"?

I downloaded the latest FF installation (3.6.13) saving it to a local file. The file fails to execute and displays the following message ".../Firefox Setup 3.6.13.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I tried running the download instead of saving it and received the same message.

Are you on Vista? If so, be sure to use the "Run As Administrator" option on everything you execute when you initiate the installation.
If you are on XP, make sure you are logged into an account with full local administrative rights.
Otherwise, try a clean uninstall:

Followed by a fresh download and install. Which version (and sub version...language, media manager, etc.) are you attempting to use?

If you have security software (antivirus, firewall etc.) you can try to temporarily disable it for a few minutes, visit a safe site (e.g. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird), download and check. Please also see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firewalls#Firewall_pitfalls this].
If it works you can then try deleting all existing instances of Firefox and its related processes/files in all the different configuration modules/areas of the security software like process monitoring, sub/spawned process control, virtualization, HIPS etc., in addition to the security software's main configuration panel. Can't update/install itunes- 'not a valid win32 application' PLEASE HELP

I'm having some serious problems with installing iTunes on my laptop. I have searched and searched the internet and can not find any solution to my problem. I am receiving the error "itunes is not a valid win32 application' after the program finishes downloading. Sometimes however it will just stop in the middle of the download. I use a SONY VAIO VGN-NW25GF which was only purchased last year. It uses windows 7. I had trouble downloading itunes to begin with though eventually it worked, however since the new 10.1 update has been available ive been attempting to update it almost every time i use itunes. Each and every time it fails and i've had enough as i need to update my iphone software. I’ve since uninstalled both itunes and quicktime hoping it will reinstall properly. But nothing, the same problem is occurring and now i have no itunes program!
I've tried all the solutions online about deleting browing history/temp folder and any itunessetup.exe/quicktimesetup.exe files and nothing works. I've also tried downloading using a different browser and still nothing. I’ve done a virus scan, disk cleanup and disk defragment and NOTHIGN is working. I am trying to download icloud control panel via icloudsetup.exe to windows Toshiba laptop and get a message" \icloudsetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Can anyone help? I am new to Apple stuff.

Need help for icloud photo stream, have activated ps on iphone 4 and set up icloud back up for email, contacts, iwork, and find my ihone. It suggests the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

has anyone else been getting an error message when trying to upgrade to itunes 7 that says something to the effect of "itunessetup.exe is not a valid win32 application" ???

Empty the cache files of your browser and temp directory as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Then save the file again to another location on the computer.
If you cannot clear the cache, try to download the iTunes and quicktime setup installer from the quicktime site: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html

When I try to install Firefox with the 6.0 setup, it says it's not a valid win32 application, this is on windows xp any way to fix?

It is an oldish computer running windows XP, moving to firefox since I used it on my laptop and wanted to put it on this computer. I ran the setup and it says it is not a valid win32 application and closes, well i say close, it barey opens. i also tried saving the setup and runnig it that way but that failed as well. I might just download an older version of firefox, but I'd love to use the latest one.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
