This is probably simple but ****, HELP!

Hey guys, I'm a musician and not very computer savvy, I'm having a very basic problem, I've created a song on Logic Express 8 and i want to export it into an actually audio file (IE .mp3, .wav, .mov ANYTHING!) Please help I want to get my music out there.

Hi,
When you are happy with your track, all you have to do is click 'Bounce', this can be found on the top menu bar at the very right side of the screen. There is also a little button under the master track that says something like 'bnce' or something like that. Clicking this will then give you a window with a load of options of what you want to bounce your track as, just select your preferences and click 'bounce' at the bottom, and that's it!

Probably simple but terrifying to me...HELP?

I had a 'startup disk is full' message and on a discussions thread to start the computer up with Apple / V....forgot the '/' part....and now I have an icon on my desktop that looks like a little file with a question mark in it and they flash continuously...and that's it!I I can't get it out. Even if I unplug and start up again....it comes back.

Here's some useful advice. If you maintain at least 10-15% of your hard drive's capacity free, then you won't have this problem and your system will run more reliably. That figure is the minimum amount of free space you should maintain on your hard drive at all times. If you are unable to maintain that then either put in a larger hard drive or start storing your data files on another drive (internal or external as your system allows.)
Note that dragging items to the Trash does not remove them from the drive. You must then Empty the Trash to actually delete them. Allowing the Trash to continually fill up will result in increasingly slower performance.

For disk repairs use Disk Utility. For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior; DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.0 is now Intel Mac compatible. TechTool Pro provides additional repair options including file repair and recovery, system diagnostics, and disk defragmentation. TechTool Pro 4.6.1 is Leopard compatible; Drive Genius is similar to TechTool Pro in terms of the various repair services provided. The current version, 1.5.1, is Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.
OS X automatically defrags files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems.
I would also recommend downloading the shareware utility TinkerTool System that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old logfiles and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack. If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the commandline. Note that presently AppleJack is not compatible with Leopard.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
1. Retrospect Desktop (Commercial - not yet universal binary)
2. Synchronize! Pro X (Commercial)
3. Synk (Backup, Standard, or Pro)
4. Deja Vu (Shareware)
5. PsynchX 2.1.1 and RsyncX 2.1 (Freeware)
6. Carbon Copy Cloner (Freeware - 3.0 is a Universal Binary)
7. SuperDuper! (Commercial)
8. Data Backup (Commercial)
The following utilities can also be used for backup, but cannot create bootable clones:
1. Backup (requires a .Mac account with Apple both to get the software and to use it.)
2. Toast
3. Impression
4. arRSync
Apple's Backup is a full backup tool capable of also backing up across multiple media such as CD/DVD. However, it cannot create bootable backups. It is primarily an "archiving" utility as are the other two.
Impression and Toast are disk image based backups, only. Particularly useful if you need to backup to CD/DVD across multiple media.

Probably simple but need help~

My macbook wont let me log in. A message appears saying disk space full but i cant log on to delete anything. The spinning circle appears, screen goes white, then tells me to re enter my password. I want in on my computer!

You need to move or delete some stuff. Boot into single user mode to at least get access.

This is probably impossible but....

I have a server that streams internet radio from WMAs using a
standard ASX format for the playlist. Switching to streaming MP3s
is not an option.
I would like to make a flash player which people can embed in
myspace ect and also use as a desktop app via Air.
My question is this, is there any way to capture the ASX
stream and play it within a Flash movie?

interesting... I had seen that field many times and it never clicked.
What is odd is that I had posted about this and my work around in several blogs, and a couple of well known couple LR experts had commented my work around was probably a good approach given LR limitations.
As I think through this, I wonder if it is a matter of the list of choices from Adobe that made several of us think they meant something else.
"Unknown" does not seem to fit if "I know that I have not filed for registration"; would have been nice to have a little more granularity or clarity as in "Registration Pending" as a choice, but it comes down to semantics.
Certainly your workflow approach works, and probably will start using this approach, while hoping that Adobe will give me one more choice !!

I thought this would be simple BUT I guess not!

I have two tables Master/Detail. On the detail table I have a database trigger written for insert, update or delete that updates values not the master. This works perfect. Now I add another database trigger that when the master is deleted the trigger deletes the details (ESTBOMHMST_T1). This would work perfect IF the first trigger (UPDATE_ESTBOMHMST_TOTALS ... after insert,update,delete) was not there BUT that one fires because of the delete ... this causes a mutating table error.
I have tried to understand the section in the database triggers help onsite BUT cannot get the combination of triggers working ...
Simply put I want the database trigger to delete my child details when the master header is deleted AND also (via if the UPDATE_ESTBOMHMST_TOTALS) if the detail is acted upon (updated or perhaps just one detail of many deleted) perform a calculation back to the header to update the totals.
Here is the error I and getting and the two triggers currently being used:

Please post the details of your DB version.
Your design is flawed for several reasons.
1. The master table is not normalized. It contains rolled up detail information. A design should almost never do this in an OLTP system. Conversely, in an OLAP system the detail data does not change in real-time so there should be no need to perform real-time rollups.
2. You say 'if the detail is acted upon and detail is deleted ' - but the detail trigger code makes NO distinction between INSERT, UPDATE or DELETE operations. Worse the DML for a single detail record attempts to cause the trigger to recalculate the master data for ALL RECORDS and not just the record based on the key value for the detail record that changed. Why are you trying to recalculate summary data for detail records whose data has not changed? That is a design flaw and will never perform anyway.
3. For OLTP systems the rollups of detail data can easily be performed using standard Oracle queries, analytical functions or customized views.
4. For OLAP systems the rollups are typically done as a batch operation after or during the process of updating the master/detail records.
5. Oracle already has functionaliity to delete child records when a parent record is deleted. You create a foreign key constraint on the child that uses the clause ON DELETE CASCADE. When a parent record is deleted the child records will also be deleted. Since there will be no more parent record there will be no child records to roll up. So the entire DELETE portion of both triggers is unnecessary in any case.

This may seem simple, but what is the easiest, most painless way to take an LrPhoto and save it as a jpg of a specific size somewhere in the file system?

Alright so i've gotten a new white macbook (MA700) and I am now experiencing the 'whine' that so many people have complained about. This is my 3rd macbook i've tried (the 1st was coming apart and the 2nd one the fan sounded like it was rattling apart no matter how fast it was going and now I am onto this whine problem).
Is there an easy fix/stopgap? It seems to only happen while plugged in, it just started after about a week's usage, and it cuts in and out as I turn apps on or off (i.e. as the load on the CPU changes).
Any suggestions please?

I am VERY new to Flash, so please excuse me if this seems very simple but all I am trying to achieve is to press a keyboard button to jump to the next frame.I have a button symobl off the stage and i am putting my code into that.
I can get it to jump to the next frame using the following code:

    gotoAndPlay(2);
but instead of the left key i want to press 'R' in order for it to jump to frame 2. I've tried using the code:

    gotoAndPlay(2);
but this does nothing. Can anyone tell me what the correct syntax to use is.

If you're just learning, now is as good as time as any to learn to avoid placing code "on" objects. You can use a Key listener instead of having a button carry the load. Put the following code in the timeline on an actions layer...

When testing in Flash, in the Flash Player you should go to the Control option in the player menubar and select the option to disable keyboard shortcuts. Otherwise, using most keys will not work because they are associated with shortcuts.

Press "Command P" and when the Print dialogue box comes up, towards the bottom there is an option allowing you to choose the text size, i.e: small, med, large.

Actually, another person on the "more like this" had the right answer. It meant I had a notification for an invite that I needed to respond to.

This is probably an overscan problem, but..

Hey guys/girls,
I'm a fairly new video (80gb) iPod owner and I have some questions about tv output.
I've been trying to output some subtitled avi files to my television, and the subtitles are getting cut off on the sides and some on the bottom.
The best result I got was cropping a 16:9 format .h264 640x352 file with 14 pixels on the top and bottom, then all of the subs were visible, but the characters were stretched and squatty (as expected, since I do not have a 16:9 television).
The video files in question are in 640x480 resolution divx format, and if displayed using another media player on the television (such as one for the ps2 or xbox media center), they display fine with subtitles intact.
The fact that they are getting "blown up" over the screen size of the tv, even at 640x480 tells me that this is probably an overscan problem, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get these videos to display properly on my tv?
My next thought was to try cropping the sides of a 16:9 format to make things look closer to 4:3 with borders on all sides, as that would be preferable to having the subtitles cut off.

hi, yeh i had the same problem as u, it would say that the usb is unknown, and yeh it is because u are using the wrong cable.
i had tried, for instance dwnloading the driver n stuff, eventually i found out it was because its the wrong cable, u see i had a previous cable for an old nokia phone, and i mistakly used that instead of the new one. once i plugged in the new cable although they both luked the same, it wrked. u sud luk up the type of cable ur phone takes.
