This is ridiculous.  Cant play purchased songs.

OK...I know that I am not the only one having this problem as it is all over the place.  Why will Apple not provide any support on this?
Windows XP, purchased album from Itunes, cant play 2 songs off the album.  I get the "this computer is not authorized to play...."  I enter my Apple ID and password and it says "this computer is already authorized"
I have done every single step listed here :
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389
And still nothing..
I can play every song on the album but 2.
This is extremely frustrating!  Funny thing is...I can play the songs using other players..

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store, then.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Cant Play Purchased Songs, TV Shows, or Music Videos

Help...I havent been able to find help topic related to this problem. i am unable to play any of my purchased songs, tv shows, music videos. I have purchased all from the iTunes store. my computer has not changed, and i have 2 computers listed as authorized computers, though I have only had 1 computer for the past 3 years and all downloads (purchases) have been on the same computer. any help is appreciated. I recently had to uninstall windows and all applications on my computer, and my backup software carbonite restored everything including all saved songs, tv shows, etc on itunes. However, I am unable to play or view anything purchased.
    Any help is appreciated!

Hi Jeff, Thanks for replying. Yes, I did reauthorize the computer. There are 2 computers authorized for use, though I have only one. I also deauthorized and then, reauthorized the computer and I still cannot play any purchased songs, shows, etc. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • How do i activate my computer to play purchased songs?

I have read the "activate" instructions and activated purchased music, but itunes keeps askiing me to activate when I try to play a song that I purchased on another computer.
I transfered my music from a PC to my new Mac using my iPod as a disk. I am updating my iPod on the Mac. iTunes says that songs purchased at the Music Store cannot be put on the iPod because I have not authorized my new Mac. I then click on the song, as though to play it, and a screen pops up to allow me to enter my apple ID and password. I enter my current ID, which is different than the email address I used to purchase the music (an ID that seems to no longer exist), and my current password. iTunes tells me that I have now authorized the computer to play the given song. However, when I click on that same song, I am told to authorize again.
What is happening? How can I fix this so I can play purchased songs on my new computer?
    Thanks!
    Nicole

Nicole, Welcome to the discussion area!
I don't know how you ended up here, but your question has absolutely nothing to do with the AirPort Extreme or wireless networking. Instead you should post your question in the iTunes discussion area.

  • HT203433 I cant play that song. What is preventing this?

In my I tunes library on my PC I cant play the songs with a light greg cloud next to them. Alsothe entire line is light greg. What is preventing this?

You need to authorize the computer with that specific Apple ID. If that account's inaccessible, delete the song and then purchase it from your current Apple ID, or click here and ask the iTunes Store staff for assistance.

  • My email address has changed and when I try to play purchased songs it asks me to authorize another computer under the old email address.  How do I play the music that I have purchased?  My account is current with the new email address.

You may have already done this, but try de-authorizing your computer (through the iTunes:Store menu) and then re-authorizing it.

  • I Tunes will not ley me play purchased songs from a computer that is broken, and from a previous e-mail address. I am at my wits end, as whenevr I try to authorise the computer I am using with my dead e-mail address. Any suggestions please?

i Tunes will not let me play purchased songs from a computer that is broken, and which has a previous e-mail address. I am at my wits end, as whenever I try to play the songs I receive a message to authorise the computer I am using with my dead e-mail address. I end up in a mess, changing I-Ds, etc. I have paid an IT company to sort  things out, with some success, but still I keep getting thiese messages. Surely iTunes should be less complex than this. I am not brilliant with IT, but not at all stupid. Any suggestions please?

    2. Reason : You have installed Desktop Manager using the 'Desktop Redirector' option.
Step 1: If you're not using Redirector, you should uninstall Desktop Manager and then reinstall it using the BlackBerry Internet Service option.
Step 2: On your device, go to: Options > Advanced > Service Book, and delete all service books for [Desktop]

Mostly because you are not using any capital letters or paragraph returns and your post is difficult to read.

  • Cant put "purchased" songs on "iPOD"

Im sure its just because of this new version of iTunes I can remeber several updates where one was messed up and giving various errors. I think it was 6.2 to 6.5 and then a week later an update came out and fixed it.
I was using 7.0.2 and it was working fine. I recently purchased "korn unplugged" and "sevendust alpha" Now I can not manually move the songs to my iPOD.
I tried moving from one playlist to the other and that odly put the songs in the playlist on the iPod but the song count didnt go up and the songs didnt appear under IPOD>Music. When i click on the songs in the playlist i get an exclaimation point on the left like it cant find the file. Oddly enough the songs plays fine in iTunes, they just don't transfer to the iPod.
I deleted a song on the iPod, reset it and tested it, the song was not a newly purchased song and it went right on to the iPOD so i tried a "korn unplugged" song. Same thing happens, same results, cant transfer one of my newly downloaded songs.
Updated to 7.1.1 (which installed fine), but....same thing, old songs transfer fine new songs wouldnt transfer. My software for the iPOD is 2.3 and that is the latest version. I reloaded the software and that made no difference.
I know the 5 Rs and the hidden folder fixes, those didnt do anything.
I have never had a problem with my iPOD, but cant seem to quit having problems with iTunes and purchased music. All those filters to keep the RIAA happy are really messing stuff up, authorizing, protected aac's are annoying, they never used to be 'this annoying'
I have come to the conclusion this is another bad update for iTunes and next week there will be a fix. But if someone can persude me otherwise, im all ears.

  • Can't play purchased songs even on an authorized computer.  I have tried all the fixes with no help.

I just recently purchased a new computer running Windows 7 64 bit.  I downloaded the latest edition of itunes, and transfered all of my old itunes purchases from my XP computer onto this new computer.  The problem that I am having is that I am being prompted for my password everytime I try to play purchases on this new computer, even though I get a message telling me that this computer is already authorized to play purchases under this account.  Whenever I try to play the song, I keep getting this same message everytime I enter my password.  It also seems I am unable to deauthorize the machines that were authorized using one of the old accounts that I made purchases on in the past.  When I go into my itunes account under the username and try to "deauthorize all computers" nothing happens, and it still tells me that I have 5 out of the available 5 computers authorized, even after I try to deauthorize all of them.  I have mainly noticed the problem on the older songs that I purchased.  Most of the recently purchased songs don't re-prompt me for my password when trying to play them.  I have tried all the suggested fixes on the support webpage such as deleting the "SC" folder and changing the security slider settings, but the problem keeps coming up.  Can anyone offer a suggestion on how to fix this problem and how to try again to deauthorize all computers and then reauthorize this particular new computer running Windows 7?  Thanks for the help!

Oh, and I checked here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939 and you are correct!
    I do have an iPhone 3G not a 3GS.
So does that mean that I cannot get any later software than iOS 4.2?

  • Trouble playing purchased song on mac

  • Iphone 5s refuses to play purchased songs

Since syncing my Iphone 5s to my computer (Lenovo ideapad), my iphone won't play my purchased songs. Before I had synced my phone, I was just playing my purchased material from the iCloud backup of my old 4s. (My computer's screen was being repaired when I bought the 5s). As soon as I synced my phone to my laptop the problems began. If I click on a purchased song (or come across one on shuffle) it simply skips ahead until it finds a song I song I burned from a CD. I have to click the back button and basically force it to play the song. I'm frustrated and have no idea how to fix it. Can anyone help?
    Some key points/things I've tried:
-All of my purchases are in my itunes library on my computer and the computer plays them fine.
-I tried transferring all purchases just in case. It only transfeered the new apps on my phone.
-Show all Music is turned off on my phone
    -I don't have itunes Match
-None of the purchases are hidden.
-The itunes app on my phone says they are all downloaded to the phone, not on the cloud
-Sometimes there will be a little gray, dotted circle next to some songs under the On this Phone tab, but that seems to have gone away for the moment. (Maybe as a result of shutting off show all music?)
-I have 3GB of free space, so its not a storage issue

Yeah, what i've found is that it's only songs that i've brought on my iPhone through iTunes.

  • Unable to play purchased songs...

A couple of days ago, they worked fine, but now, whenever I want to play one of the purchased songs, i get no audio... I tried speakers and headphones... nothing worked... But the display shows the music is playing... And when I play one of the songs I copied from my computer, they work perfectly... Anyone knows how to fix this?

I had this same problem, and I found that if I restarted my iPod by pressing down the hold button, the problem went away. It only happened one more time, and I restarted it, and now my audio is fine.
