This is ridiculous! how to sync iphone bookmarks to PC

Please someone help me.
I have downloaded icloud onto my PC and followed on the instructions on apple.
All I want to do is sync up my bookmarks on my iphone to my PC.
But it isn't working OR I cannot find them.  They aren't in the bookmarks for my explorer.
What do I do?  I need to wipe my phone because, although it is three months old, the phone portion won't work.  I can hear them but they can't hear me - and the apple store told me I need to completely wipe the phone.  And I am terrified that I am going to lose my booksmarks including the ones that I use for work.  I just want to transfer them to my computer but cant seem to.
Thanks

this is extremly simple!!!.
all you have to do is nothing simply connect your iphone and your mac by the cable given with the iphone.
the larger socket should go into the iphone, and the smaller socket(usb) should go to the mac's usb port.
and you should have itunes.(you will have because you have a mac) then itunes will take care of other things.(it will sync all types of media from the mac to iphone and iphone to mac.). IF YOU DID'NT KNOW WHERE IS USB PORTS ON YOUR MAC,  SEE THE PICTURE, THE SAME 2 PORTS IN THE MIDDLE ARE THEM.

  • How to Sync iphone 5 contacts/calendar with Outlook 2007

I used to have an iphone 3gs and upgraded to a 5 recently. Since then I can't sync outlook contacts/calendar like I used to.
All I want to do is sync outlook with the iphone so that I have the same data on my Windows7 PC as on the iPhone. I used to just hit sync in itunes and presto it would sync both ways. i.e new phone entries would be copied to outlook and new outlook enteries copied to the iphone.
Now in itunes "info". I  only see an option that sync's to the cloud only. I don't want to sync to the cloud because the old way was better for me.
Besides the cloud doesn't seem to work. The phone information gets uploaded to the cloud but the outlook information doesn't get updated? When I open up the cloud in Win7 using icloud I can see all the contacts on my phone but how do I get them to sync with Outlook and vice versa?
I've read so much information on the subject I'm blue in the face but have not found a solution.
Your help would be appreciated, Thank You.

If you have [accidentally] enabled iCloud sync on your iPhone, note that you first need to turn that off in order to be able to sync again via iTunes instead. iCloud sync and iTunes sync when it comes to contacts and calendars, are cannot be run simultaneously. Settings > iCloud > toggle the switches to OFF
You can alternatively read this for another offline method of syncing iphone contacts to outlook without needing to switch off your iCloud sync in first place.

  • How to sync Safari bookmarks to my iPad2?

I've had my iPad2 for a few months now, and I noticed that my iMac Safari bookmarks are more current than those on my iPad2, even though I think I'm set up for them to be kept current using iCloud.  I use the cable to sync with iTunes on my iMac, and I've set it up to use iCloud storage.  Obviously, I'm probably causing a conflict somehow, so please review how to ensure the iPad2 bookmarks are current with the iMac.

This generally worked for me (finally!), though I think there is still a tricky place where your bookmarks in Safari on the iPad "over-write" those on the iMac. I was expecting some type of merge where bookmarks that were different in either system would be added to the other, but that may be expecting too much.
I would also suggest two slight modifications/additions (though I have not thoroughly tested these):
In step 3 - press "Keep on my iPad" after you turn off Bookmarks
In step 5 - back in your iPad, leave Bookmarks "Off"
I am disappointed that the iPad user guide fails to adequately describe how this process works. If you have both an iPad and an iMac, syncing the bookmarks seems like a pretty important function to get right.

  • TS1347 How to Sync iPhone 4S iOS7.1 Calendar to Win 8.1 Outlook2013 via iTunes - help?

    BACKGROUND & CONTEXT
Having just spent crazy money on a new Windows 8.1 laptop and Office 365 software, I  learn only now from Microsoft that over the air sync of Outlook Calendar to iPhone Calendar is not supported. I was forced to get Win8.1 as Win XP was no longer supported and I have to have a Windows PC for work reasons. Previously, on my WinXP laptop I was successfully 2-way syncing Outlook 2007 via Google Calendar Sync to my iPhone Calendar. It worked like a dream (I was forced to use Google because the previous MobileME over the air calendar sync destroyed all my calendars - wiped them clean - a business disaster for me - so I will avoid Apples iCloud sync on calendars now for the same reason).
I read all over the www that you cannot sync Outlook 2013 (windows) via Google Calendar because Google has withdrawn their free Google Calendar Sync service for new PC's. I read people trying workarounds but most seems to fail and create other issues, which I do not want.I need a clean reliable solution - just a 2-way sync between my i{Phone Calendar and my Win8.1 Outlook 2013 calendar. I am realsing that the war between Apple, MS and Google has left me disadvantaged as a customer fo all three and I am frankly angry at all three of them, but that's not what I am here to get help on.
I am an iTunes user but not on WIndows - I have a separate MacBook Pro which I sync the iPhone with only for music/videos. I do not want to use the MacBook Pro for business or calendars.
    QUESTIONS
Is the only reliable solution for me to use Itunes on my PC and sync iPhone calendar to Win8.1 Outlook calendar via USB cable?
If it is the only solution - how do I set up a new installation of iTunes on my new Win8.1 laptop so I can ONLY sync the calendar with the iPhone when connected by cable and NOT all my music/vidos ( I want them to remain on the MacBook Pro, and in any case - my new Win8.1 laptop has only a small SSD which I need for work document storage)?
Many thanks in advance for help with my problem.

Thanks. Good to see the standard Apple support pages. I will refer to them if I can confirm the answer to my question about compatbility of Outlook 2013 in this Sync process, i.e. whether or not Outlook 2013 (Win 8.1) is supported on USB or wifi sync via itunes. They list Outlook 2010 but the absence of a listing for 2013 suggest it is not supported. Does anyone out there know if Outlook 2013 (PC) works in calendar sync with iTunes?
Also. I seem to remember that the first time you cable an iPhone to a new installation of iTunes on a new PC.... that it goes into automatic syncing of your iTunes Account (previously held and used on other computers) - and I most definately do not want this to happen. I need full control of manually determining what I manually sync on first hook-up. How can I get thois control please??

  • How to sync Firefox bookmarks?

When I sync my iPhone for syncing bookmarks the drop down menu only shows Internet Explorer. Nothing about Firefox. Is there anyway to sync my bookmarks?

Sure they do - if you don't like what Apple offers, you have the freedom of choice to not purchase an iPhone in the first place and purchase another device that gives you the most "freedom".
Internet Explorer's market share is significant, so resources were spent there with support for syncing bookmarks.
Microsoft has their share of limiting freedom of choice with what you must use and do. If you believe Microsoft is immune to this, think again.

  • How to sync iPhone contacts back to Address Book.

I came across this problem and found a work-around on the forums, but some guys there–including myself–felt that iTunes should sync our contacts bi-directionally from iPhone to Address Book on our Macs, and vice versa.
As it turns out, that's really the default behavior in iTunes when syncing between iPhone/Address Book on the Mac. However, if you've been using iCloud to sync everything lateley, this will not be the default behavior, because your iTunes won't sync anything back to your Address Book on the Mac unless you completly disconnect from iCloud services.
So..... if you want to sync your contacts from your iPhone back to your Address Book on your Mac, I'm providing this simple, yet tedious, solution:
Step 1: Open Address Book on your Mac, select all of your contacts, and press delete. You'll be asked if you really want to delete the contacts. Hit ok and     continue.
Step 2: Navigate to: Macintosh HD/Users/(YourUserName)/Library/Application Support/Address Book.
Note* On OS X Lion, your Library folder will not be shown. You'll have to navigate there a different way. The way I did it was:
Click the "Go" option up in the Finder menu bar.
Toward the bottom of the pull-down menu, click on the "Go to Folder..." option.
    Type "~(YourUserName)/Library/Application Support/Address Book.
Once there, I searched through all the folders included and deleted anything that ended in ".plist" or ".log". This way, Address Book is completely reset when next open it.
Step 3: Open Address Book, add at least one contact if none are automatically created for you, and make sure iCloud is Disabled (if an account is there) in your Address Book Preferences pane, which you find by clicking "Address Book" in the top menu bar. Then, quit Address Book.
Step 4: On your iPhone, open your Settings app, go to the iCloud option, and turn all services off. After turning each one off, it will ask you if you want to keep the data on you phone. Always select "Yes", otherwise you may lose your data.
Step 5: Connect your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes, select your iPhone in the left column, select the "Info" tab, and check the box to "Sync Contacts"–further down on the page, in the Advanced section, make sure the Contacts checkbox is unchecked. If it's checked when you sync, iTunes will overwrite the contacts on your phone with the contacts from Address Book on your Mac.
Step 6: Sync your iPhone–This will sync the contacts from your phone to the Address Book app on your Mac.
Step 7: Open up Address Book, and add an iCloud account, or re-enable the one you disabled in step 3–This will sync all of those contacts to your iCloud account again. Then, you can also go back to the iCloud settings on your phone and turn all the services back on.
After all this, you should have been able to first sync your contacts from you iPhone back to your Address Book app on your Mac, then have them both synced up through iCloud with the same contacts being pushed everywhere.
    Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for all this, unfortunately it's still not helping me. Last week I turned on iCloud for contacts and not only did the iCloud sync fail, but now with iCloud off I haven't been able to sync iphone-to-mac thru iTunes.
I've checked that iCloud contact sync'ing is off, on both my Mac and iPhone. I've even turned off all other iCloud services on both devices. I followed your instructions precisely and even deleted more than you suggested from the App Support | Address Book folder. Step 6 just doesn't work. iTunes whips thru the Address Book sync progress when it should pause a bit to do the transfer—my Address Book archive is 44 Mb.
I have no desire to waste more time with iCloud, just want it to work the old fashioned way.  I'd gladly do a clean system re-install but not sure even that would do it…hard to tell where the problem lies.
Appreciate any light you could shed!

  • How to sync iPhone 3G with MacBook (previously syncing with Windows)

Hi, I just bought a my first Mac ever, it the brand new MacBook 13" and so far I'm loving the whole Mac experience. I have a question though. I have an iPhone 3G and until now I sync it with my other Win machine. Everything is ok there. However, I'm now thinking to start using the iPhone with my MacBook but I don't know how to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing the info I have in the iPhone. I'm not concerned about the apps, music or videos because I know to transfer that kind of info to another machine (i did it already with my iPod touch and the iPod classic and everything went fien, I didn't lose any data in the process). However, with the iPhone I don't want to lose the contacts and the saved SMSs. Can anyone tell me how to sync the iPhone to my Mac easily without losing anything? btw, I have no songs in the iPhone, just one free app (midomi). I heard that I can automatically get the app in any other computer as long as I use the same iTunes account so the server remembers that I "bought" it.

    Tonga wrote:
thxs Scott, that is actually what I thought that would happen but I wasn't sure. I will give it a try later. Btw, when you say: "make sure to backup the info", do I need to do a backup manually or, is it ok if I just connect the iPhone to the old machine so iTunes can make the automatic backup?
    cheers.
Nah, just sync it with the Windows machine before you begin. Odds on you won't need it, but if you do, then at least it is there.

Give Xmarks a try, they have an iOS app as well. It will not sync directly to Safari on the iPad, you open the links through the app.
