My task is to open existing PDF's (whose source is a either a scaned document or converted word doc) label the document with numbers and somehow indicate which paragraphs of text each number applies to. I need these "labels and mark-ups" to be saved with the pdf and also visible when the pdf is printed. I currently use acrobat commenting tools (text box and line drawing tool) to do this. However I am wondering if another product exist that would have additional features that would help me produce a professional looking document. I do not need to edit text, just need to add labels and symbols that would allow the content to be referenced quickly.

You might want to look into what dynamic stamps can provide. They are a feature of Acrobat, but you'd have to create them yourself.

Closed Captioning can be done in Premiere Pro but there are some limitations and considerations. I would recommend doing some research based on your workflow and what your final output will be and posting any questions you have on the Premiere Pro forum.

SAP provide some hooks to add our code to the standard program. This is what we called enhancement.
It has following types:
1. Personalization ( here the fields can be hide, display only etc. )
2. Customer Exit ( Function module Exit, Menu Exit and Screen Exit )
3. BTE
4. BADI( Function module Exit, Menu Exit and Screen Exit )
5. User Exit
Suppose all these are not helpful, then you could create the code from scratch. But it is too difficult to develop because of its complexity.
So what you can do is get SAP access key and change the code in the standard program. This is called as modification. Advantage of Enhancement and modification is whenever there is a new version come the changes made by us in standard code will be attached in the newer version also.
The final way is copy the source code into customer namespace and make changes according to your criteria. Eg. in the standard PO creation if you do like this, several disadvantages are the user has to give a new t.code, BASIS guy has to restrict the standard PO create T.code and you can't avail the new features of future versions.

Your best course of action is to email the web sites that use Flash and request that they support iOS. If you also mention that there are now well over 200 million iOS users worldwide that can't use the web site it might get their attention. I am not all that familar with Crochet, other than what my sisters and mother use to do 20+ years ago.
What you could do is turn on the background grid and snap to grid. Find a grid size that will work for you (may be easier if you place an image for reference) Then with the pen tool you can create lines that follow the grid (assuming you want to print the grid)
With the image placed you could add text for what color or change the lines color and print it out
Anyway just an idea, it kind of hard to think with out seeing one. But then again if you have book of patterns you could use that as the reference. Just keep in mind that whats in that book is for your own use only, it can not be shared or sold to the public. As the book is protected by copyright laws. Any original work you do that is not in that book, is up to you on what you want to do with it.

PDF Pack can do that; but you may only be able to use the online service, since Adobe Reader may also not run on your OS (depending on the architecture).

Scanning to Word won't do what you want.
You see, a scan of a page is just like a photograph of it. You have photos of letters and stuff, but no actual letters. There is a special process called "optical character recognition" (OCR) which analyses the picture in detail, and decides - hey that pattern of dots looks like it might be a letter A - and that would could be an S... it is difficult and time consuming but if the original is clear then you can get a lot of text text with the need only for careful proof reading.
Check the software which came with the scanner first. It may well offer options for OCR. Yes, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do this, but you have unnecessary complication, because you'll then need to get the text out from Acrobat to begin the tedious process of typesetting each page. To be honest, you might find retyping everything the quickest and most reliable approach. If you aren't already experienced in dealing with long documents in Word you are in for a long haul. Back up a lot, so you don't lose everything due to a mistake.
(I'm assuming you don't want a "facsimile" - a warts-and-all exact copy of each original page, as typed and scribbled, with no changes at all - that would be a different story).

Why is there no Adobe PDF browser plugin for Firefox?

Firefox has just under 23% market share of the global internet broswer market and is second to IE. Is there a technical reason as to why Adobe hasn't built a plugin or Add-on for Firefox?? Firefox is open source so it can't be any sort of licensing or rights issue. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
To avoid wasted airtime, please refrain from replying with "Adobe X can do it". I've seen that in a few old posts from what seems to be a cavalier Adobe employee. This has to do with Adobe Acrobat functionality with Firefox, regardless of version. I run Windows 7 64 bit with Acrobat 9. Thanks

I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I am interested in developing/designing a tactical map for competitive gaming and I was wondering what adobe products would help me best. I have a decent amount of experience with Fireworks. The map will be a web application and should be interactive for the user experience. Could anyone weigh in on this question? Sorry for not being very descriptive. I would want the map very interactive, almost to the sense of everything on the map will be affected by user interaction.
For example, a user scrolls over a zone and it lights up & once clicked upon, the zone will display information somewhere. The map will be a "fight for control" like a domination set up, and the way it would work is that a team (Team A) would control Zone A and Team B controls Zone B. Well, Team A decides to challenge their neighboring zone (Which is Zone B) to a match. (In some FPS game). Whoever wins the match, will obtain control of that zone. I know this is a lot of stuff to take in. But, I'm just curious to see others ideas on what technologies they would use to design something like this.

Photoshop can import PDF files and you can draw anything you want on them. I'm sure you could make a professional looking result, though it may take more time than you want. You might want to describe a bit more about what you're doing on one of the Photoshop forums and see if people there think it's a good fit.

I have a psd image of the top of a tree. I made a brush from this image and have played with it changing colors etc., but I can’t get the look I want.

I don't use Illustrator. Painter has something called the Image Hose.
On reflection you might get something reasonable with a Photoshop brush set to Scatter in the Brushes Panel.

In our application, we have service bus queue, one of the Web APIs (REST) picks the data from devices and puts into the Queue. The worker role picks the packets and process it.
To improve the speed of processing, what are the options available?
There are too many packets laying in the queue for hours.

Please try to handle your queue message in parallel. Base on my experience, you can create a pool of threads process. Every thread could pick the queue message and handle it. After finished it, you can discard the message or do other actions.
