I am trying to purchase the Mobile Mouse app from itunes on my ipad 2 and keep getting the above error. Does anyone know how to resolve this? I have tried to buy the app in itunes and I recieved the same error, turned my ipad off and on again, signed out and back into itunes, and still no luck. Any ideas?

Forgot to mention, I am running os 5.0.1 and itunes 10.

  • This item is currently being modified, please try again later since iTunes9

Hi, I tried to find an answer to this issue believing I wouldn't be the only one to see this, but I could not find the answer to my iTunes issue. I updated to iTunes 9, since I did that, I am unable to buy any Season Pass. I tried with 3 different season passes and all I get is a message saying "This item is currently being modified, please try again later". I tried to reeinstall iTunes 9, I updated to SL 10.6.1 this morning, logout of iTunes etc ... nothing seems to solve my problem. Any good idea is welcome.

I'm having the same problem. I tried to buy a season pass to the SD version of my favorite show, and was told I had to install iTunes 9.0 first. I did that, and then started getting this "Purchase unavailable. Item is being modified. Try again later" message, which has been coming up for two days solid now. Interestingly enough, other folk trying to buy the same series have had the same problem - UNLESS they were buying the $20 more expensive HD version of the season pass, which began downloading instantly. Given that the HD season pass includes a copy of the SD version for viewing on an iPod, there can't be a problem with the SD version, so what's going on with the inability to purchase it? The single new SD episode is also apparently downloadable individually, but can't be gotten on a season pass. Have submitted request for assistance to customer service (and REALLY hate how clunky that system is, when it comes to finding out where to submit a query), and haven't heard anything back yet. Am NOT happy.

  • Error message: "Item is being modified, please try again later"

I'm trying to buy Dhafer Youssef album "Digital Prophecy" from finnish iTMS. When i click "Buy Now" in my shopping cart, iTunes will give me various error messages,
    "Item is being modified",
"Your shopping cart's contents have changed." or
"We could not complete your Music Store request. The server was not found."
I've bought several albums from iTMS before with no problems. I know for sure that there is no problems in my credit card or so. Also "the item" i am trying to buy, has been "being modified" for more than week already, so the problem must be somewhere else than just that it's price is being changed or so.
Anyone with a fix for this problem? I am running the latest version of Tiger, and all the latest updates from Software Update, both Quicktime and iTunes are as up-to-date as they can be.
    G4 iBook & Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

They've been having problems with various albums. it's listed at two different prices but appears to be the same album. Others who have had this problem have clicked on the review page and downloaded their selection from there. I don't see that for this selection.
Try to purchase the $7.92 version.

  • This item is temporarily unavailable.  please try again later

I have had a large iTunes library for years.  switched many different computers through the years.  I buy my first Mac and this is the error that pops up when i try to download my library.  I have tried to download to external hard drive and internal hard drive.
I have read all the previous posts to try and determine how to best fix this.
i tried the safari preferences reset of website data and blocking cookies... which by the way doesn't allow you to log in to iTunes it appears.
and i have reset my cache and warnings in iTunes as well.  Does anyone have any more ideas?  Not feeling the love for my new Mac right now.  Thank You in advance for any ideas.

I had a similar issue on a used macbook air that I purchased and was attempting to reinstall the OS X from the partition.  The issue was the partition was referencing a BETA version of yosemite that could not be downloaded any longer.  You may have the same issue.  The solution is an internet recovery process.  You start the mac and then immediately press command+option+R at the same time.  This should take you to a screen with a spinning globe and it will start this internet recovery process.  My understanding is it downloads the original partition recovery file for your specific machine.  In my instance it downloaded mountain lion. Once this is complete I went to disk utilities and first re-erased the Mac SSD and then performed the OS X re-install from the recovery partition.  It will not ask for any sign in with your apple ID.  It will simply install the original OS X that came with your machine.  You will then go through the setup process to establish the mac as your machine or install from backup which ever you choose.  Once that is done you can do the free upgrade to the latest OS X, in my case yosemite.  Hope this helps.

  • Cannot watch movies - all say 'This item is currently being modified.  Please try again later.'

Every movie I try to watch on my AppleTV results in a message stating 'This item is currently being modified.  Please try again later.'  How can I find a fix for this issue?  I am in the UK.  My iTunes account is a US account.  Is that the issue?  This does not cause me any problems with any other aspects of the AppleTV and has never been an issue when using iTunes on my PC and iPad.  Help!

Make sure the country location on your appletv is set to match the country on your iTunes account. Fixed it for me after months of struggling with the same problem.

  • TS1424 "This item is currently being modified. Please try again later."

While attempting to purchase and download a recently aired TV epsiode (Doctor Who: The Snowmen) a message appears that it is currently bing modified, and to try again later.  After poking around on the internet for a bit I was confused since multiple sources said the show would be available online Wed. Dec. 26th.  While trying repeatedly yesterday and this morning I am still unable to purchase this episode.  More distressing, is that it appears other users have been able to buy and enjoy this selection with no problems.  I am wondering if this is a connection issue or if I missed some sort of an update on my computer?

  • "This item is currently being modified. Please..."

Trying to purchase a couple TV show seasons but for two different shows (Madmen and Burn Notice), it won't let me purchase and gives this message:
"This item is currently being modified. Please try again later."
Never seen this one before. Thoughts?

Hi, I actually have the same problem but with Apps for the iPhone... I've got 2 of them showing there's an update available but when I try to update I first get a message staating I can't update unless I have bought the previous version (why is it then offering an update???) and then a second message stating "This item is currently being modified. Please try again later." and it's been stuck like this for a couple days now... I think this might have to do with some internal Apple database thing because I changed my contact email for iTunes recently therefore my iTunes name changed as well and the Apple iTunes databse is probably having problems updating the purchase records witht he new name...

  • "Game Center account services are currently unavailable. Please try again later." Any solution for this thing ?

Hey guys, I have an iMac 27 inch. Whenever i connect to the game center it asks me to input my apple id & password. I do so then I agree to terms & conditions followed by inputing my nickname. After doing this stuff it just shows as 'Saving...' and never stops for hours. When I try through chess i get the following error. "Game center account services are currently unavailable. Please try again later". I've tried everything which were there in other discussions but none helped. And just for the extra information my internet is firewalld frrom the datacenter itself. Please provide a solution. Thanks :)

  • "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Netflix is a blessing on the AppleTV. I've been enjoying it for the greater part of a week. Suddenly, while watching an Instant Streaming title... the quality lowered considerably. I paused the title, exited to the menu, and tried to launch the title once again (after checking my internet connection!) It did not try to load, it merely displayed the error: "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
I exited out to the menu again, and noticed that the Movie Poster images while I had Netflix selected were not "Suggestions For You" but rather "New Arrivals." It had never shown the "New Arrivals" before.
I unplugged the power cable and gave it upwards to 5 minutes. I plugged the cable back in and tried once more. The Movie Poster images were back to being based off of "Suggestions For You," so I had high hopes. Nope, once I tried to select a title... the same error greeted me.
I have gone to the website on my 13" Macbook, and I have streamed Netflix over my PS3 console to confirm this is indeed an AppleTV-problem. Netflix is not currently unavailable.
I have unplugged the device once again and will leave it sit for an hour or more.
I am incredibly dissatisfied with this predicament, especially considering I will now waste a majority of my day-off trying to fix this error to simply enjoy a few films on the one day I can.
    Thanks.

I'm adding a data point to this thread - I've got an Apple TV (I have no idea how to tell if it's a 2 or what, but we bought it this year, so I'm assuming it is) and I've had no problems with Netflix until this evening. I've been watching Mad Men via streaming, and today when I tried to access the episode list, it gives me the dreaded "Netflix is currently unavailable. Try again later." message.
    WHAT DIDN'T WORK:
Changing to manual DNS configurations as J Ashley mentions above.
    Power cycling the unit.
Going to the menu and immediately going back into Netflix
    WHAt DID WORK:
    Nothing as yet.
The curious thing about this behavior for me is that it is ONLY happening for the show "Mad Men." After reading some other threads on this topic, I was able to instantly stream Prince of Persia over the Apple TV with no problems. I then tried another TV show, "Glee," and was able to access the episode guide for that show as well. What seems to be happening is that selecting Mad Men doesn't attempt to access Netflix, for whatever reason.
In about 20 minutes tonight, I've seen a lot of threads on this problem dating back to March of this year or earlier, with no input from Apple and no solutions offered. Is anyone in Cupertino working on this problem? It's really frustrating.

  • I can't access any account information online.  "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

I've been able to log-in to my account, but have not been able to gain access to anything after I'm logged in.  This has been going on for days and all I get is the same message "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later."  I've tried on 4 different PC's and my phone
The configurations, actions and results below:
Dell Inspiration 1545 Windows 7 Home Premium Explorer 10 cleared cache and history and rebooted
Toshiba Satellite T135 Windows 7 Home Premium Firefox 21 cleared cache and history and rebooted
Dell Dimension 4600 Windows XP SP 2 Explorer 9 cleared cache and history and rebooted
HP Pavilion H9-1215t Windows 7 Explorer 10 Professional cleared cache and history and rebooted
Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX Android 4.1.2
I got the same result on every system "The activity you are trying to perform is currently unavailable. Please try again later."
    What's going on?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Found out what causes: "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later." on TV shows.

    Hi Everyone,
I have found out what's causing TV shows to display "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later.". At first like many others I thought this was an issue with only Mad Men (on of Netflix's most popular streaming TV shows) but then I saw other people are having problems. So I ran a test, I found a few random shows. Swtch at Birth and Spiderman, I watched the first episode for a few minutes and then hit menu a few times to get back the main Netflix menu in Apple TV. When I tried to go back to the shows I get the "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later." message right away. I tried this with a few other random shows and the same thing happens.
Until this gets resolved if you're watching a TV show you really like just keep it opened and do not go back to the main Netflix menu. Hopefully this information helps.

No netflix no problem. Unplug all cords from your Apple tv and go get some popcorn. Come back and plug everything back in.

"Temporarily" is OK but this was the same yesterday. Should this be changed to "permanently"?

  • "This item is currently being modified. Please try again later."

I pre-ordered x by Ed Sheeran and it won't let me complete the album with the rest of the songs that were released at midnight.  It gives me the option to buy 6 more songs separately, and I tried buying one and it worked.  The problem is I don't want to spend another 7-8 dollars on songs that I can get for a total of $1.38.  I even tried cancelling the pre-order and nothing's worked so far.  What can I do?

The message says they are replacing some items and you should try again LATER. Is there any reason you can't follow that advice? Other than impatience?
No, you should not have to pay twice for anything. If you contact iTunes support (the link is at the bottom of the store page), you should get a refund, although canceling the pre-order might have caused some unnecessary complication. Try.

  • "Game Center account services are currently unavailable. Please try again later." How can I fix this?

I've never even been able to set up my Game Center account. I have an Apple ID that I use, but every time I get to the part where I select my country this error message pops up. I can use Safari and internet connection required apps, but this won't work, ever.
