"this itunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account"

I set up an iCloud family. Until now, everyone had their own iCloud account, and we had a separate iTunes ID (not an iCloud e-mail address) that all of our purchases were made under.
So, I set up that Apple ID as the master account and added everyone's personal iCloud accounts as members.
Then, I went into iTunes prefs and logged in as my iCloud account.
When I go to the App store and go to Purchased, it says:
"this itunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account than <my iTunes Apple ID>." Then there is a Learn More link that takes me to my iCloud and shows my family group with the same Apple ID as the organizer.
Does anyone have any idea what happened to cause it to think that I am not in the same family group?
Thanks.

Update...I now notice:
Going to: App Store>Updates>Purchases:
1)  The message “This iTunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account other than <her iCloud ID>...”  Is now showing up on my iPhone and can no longer see any of my purchases or hers.
2) The same message above is now showing on my iPad mini (it didn’t before).  But, I can still see both hers and my purchases on my iPad mini.
3) The message "This iTunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different iCloud account other than <my iCloud ID>…” still showing on her iPhone and she still can’t see her or my purchases.
iTunes Family Sharing still works fine.
Note: If I Go to Settings>iTunes & App Store then log out of my Apple ID, then go to App Store>Updates>Purchases and log into my Apple ID from there, My purchases show up (not hers). I then toggle between Updates and Purchases and the message pops up and unable to see any purchases, again.  Same thing happens when I do it to her phone except her purchases show up (not mine).
I emailed this update to Apple...waiting for a reply.

  • Another "This itunes account is set up to use family sharing with a different icloud account than Apple ID "

I saw another thread on the matter but thought I would post because the circumstances are different. Here is how it happened.
I have had an Apple Store account for years and until recently our family has only had our one Mac and my iPhone 4. Thus any purchases we have made on the Apple App Store were made only with this account.
We recently purchased two iPhone 5S's--one for my wife and one for my daughter. Neither had Apple IDs so first we set up my wife's iPhone and created an Apple ID for her. Next we used the Family Sharing feature to set up an account for our "under age 13" daughter.
Because I am still waiting for my iPhone 6 Plus to arrive, and because the iPhone 4 cannot upgrade to iOS 8, and because my Apple ID is the only account with any apps that have been purchased in prior years, I set up my wife as the Family Organizer but when I set up her account, I chose the option to "share purchases from a different account" and entered the information for my Apple ID.
My daughter is able to view my prior purchases on her iPhone, but when my wife tries to view my prior purchases, she receives the message "This iTunes account is set up to use Family Sharing with a different iCloud account than <her Apple ID>."
I hope Apple is reading this. I would be more than willing to help them on this one as this feature is one of the main reasons I put our family on iPhones.

I had this problem. I finally figured it out yesterday. Try this:
On the device that is having trouble seeing purchases, go to Settings>iCloud>Family Sharing> Then tap on the user of the device you are on. Under "Family Purchases" make sure it has the AppleID of the person for that device. Mine originally had my husbands AppleID in there (he is the Organizer), but I changed it to mine. That doesn't make it so that the purchases are under me. The purchases remained under my husband, but my ID had to be in this spot for it to work.
After that, I closed settings, then I went to Settings>iTunes and App Store> click on the AppleID and Sign Out, even if it has the right AppleID in there. Then Sign In again using the AppleID of the person on that device. Again-- even if it has the right ID in there to start, still sign out and back in.
See if they show up. If they don't show up still, try doing a restart (hold down power button and home button until it restarts).
They should show up by then, but if they don't, at that point, try to go into iCloud and Sign Out and back in.
I think the key is having the right ID in "Family Purchases". I hope this works for you.

  • This itunes account is setup to use family sharing with a different icloud account

I am doing the Family Sharing with my sister. When she tried to download from my purchased on her ipad, she got error massage as the title said...and couldn't see my list of purchased. Can someone help on this?
We are using our individual itune, apple ,and Icloud accounts.

Yeah - not sure why that is happening only for Apps. Might be best for you to give Apple Support a call. You are still within your 90-day period, so the support will be free of charge. Here's the link - just follow the prompts and it will take you to a page where you can set up a call:

  • How do I use Home Sharing with two different apple accounts?

How do I use Home Sharing with two different apple accounts?

    Morning Saintine,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Home Sharing enables you to stream or transfer music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more among up to five authorized computers in your household. To do so, you will need to Turn on Home Sharing on each computer using the same Apple ID.

  • How to set-up and use FAMILY Sharing

Can someone please explain to me in detail how to set-up and use FAMILY Sharing, none of the information I have so far found in the documentation helps at all, in fact it puts you in a constant loop giving the same information over and over again
We have quite a few devices from ipads, iphones and ipods and I need to set-up Family Sharing.
We have our main Apple ID which is linked to our Payment method, I have now got my son a new iPad, I have created his Apple ID and set-up a link via FAMILY Sharing to our main Apple ID.
From what I read we should be able to share our purchased Apps between family members.
So I figured I would be able to get the Apps now via iTunes that are part of the FAMILY Sharing, however when I go into ITunes (latest version downloaded yesterday) I can only see the Home sharing menu item not FAMILY Sharing, so I cannot work out in Itunes how to get Apps that are FAMILY shared.  So ok I will try and get Apps directly via the Ipad using the App Store.  To test it is working I look for a known paid for App, I then go to download it and it is now asking me to pay for it again.
Can someone please explain to me in detail how FAMILY Sharing is supposed to work and how I get it to work please.
    Thanks for your help
    Greg

    Hey GregWr,
Thanks for the question. The following resources provides some of the best information regarding Family Sharing. Included, you’ll find information on making sure the accounts are set to "Share my purchases”, as well as information on downloading Family Member purchases from the iTunes Purchased section. Please note that some applications are not shareable.

  • What do I do with iTunes gift cards if I am using Family sharing?

My wife and I just purchased new iPhone. We both have iTunes gift cards but want to use Family sharing. What do we do with the iTunes cards?

Thank you for your response, but the gift card has been redeemed already on my account.  I am the family organizer with a gift card balance already.
and only YOU can use that gift card balance...
However, as the family organizer with a gift card balance, my daughter made a purchase and it was processed against my credit card, instead of my gift card balance.  I think it's a glitch with family share.  I see that I am not the only one with this problem.
This is how FamilySharing with Gift Cards is supposed to work.
Using gift cards in Family Sharing will charge against a gift card ONLY for purchases against that specific account.
You redeemed the gift card you you account so only purchases YOU make will go against that gift card.
If your daughter redeems a gift card, any purchases she makes will go against that gift card.
-> How iTunes Store purchases are billed - Apple Support
"How are Family Sharing purchases billed?
When you initiate a new purchase, it will be billed directly to the family organizer's account, unless you have gift or store credit. First, your store credit will be used to pay the partial or total bill. The remainder will bill to the family organizer. iTunes Store credit on your account isn't shared with other family members. So if the family organizer has a $50 credit on their account and another family member initiates a purchase, it won't deduct from the organizer's iTunes Store credit, but will bill the organizer's credit or debit card."

  • Can i use family sharing in 2 different countries?

I currently live in the China, but my son lives in the US. We want to use family sharing together but apparently we have to use the same credit card. And frankly I can't use an American card on a Chinese account or a Chinese card on an American account. Is there anyway we can share our purchases?

According to Family Sharing - multiple countries ??? , no, we can't, and because of the different availability of content across different countries, it is unlikely that this will be possible in the near future.

  • Apple Pay Setup with 2 Different iCloud Accounts?

    Hello,
I have 2 different iCloud Accounts.
One (my main account) in Canada.
The other one in the United States.
I am with citi bank in the US.
Can I setup Apple Pay on my iPhone 6 with the US iCloud, but keep my main Canadian iCloud account as the main account to sync everything (contacts, bookmarks, calendars, etc) without the US account interfering.
i.e. I would only want to use my US account to setup Apple Pay.
    Thanks,
    Nicolas

    Hi Nicolas ....
I understand what you are trying to do but only one iCloud account is allowed per device.
Apple Pay is only works in the United States.

  • Can I use home sharing with two different Apple IDs?

Can I use home sharing for two different Apple IDs?

I have the same sort of problem I want to share two music liberys but my wife dos not like some of the music I do and I don't like some of her's but we like to share the music we both like.
At the moment we have home shareing on but when my wife buy's music It downloads her's and my laptop and when I buy music it downloads to my laptop and my wife's.

  • Can I use two different iTunes accounts on one computer without using Family sharing

So my wife made the mistake of logging into her iTunes account on my computer to purchase some music and she also (without knowing what she was doing) turned on family sharing at some point.
This is irritating for multiple reasons:
Now I have hundreds of artists added to my iTunes match, all of who I care nothing about and don't want the clutter in my artist list, but I can't figure out how to permanently delete them off of my account. Also, now if I login to my account on iTunes I can't play any of my music for 90 days.
Is there ANY way for me to re-organize my music, delete her junk, and get myself back to where I can play my purchased music on my iTunes account? Any time I try to organize or delete her music it shows back up next time I open it.
I almost feel like I need to download all of my music off of the cloud, delete my iTunes account, and then open another one AFTER organizing my music while offline and then enable match again. Everything is so cluttered and frustrating. Looking for some advice.

    1. Give her a separate user account on your computer. If you have a backup copy of the library, you can restore it.
    2. If you encounter a 90-day waiting period, click here and ask the iTunes Store staff if they'll remove it.

  • Recently created a new iCloud account, but want to use my previous iCloud email address (created with a different iCloud account)... help needed!!

    Guys,
I hope you can help me out on this, but I have a problem...
A few years ago I created an iCloud account on my old iPhone 4S.
Back then, I used an email address for iCloud registration that's no longer active.
Anyway, I also made an iCloud email address back then.
    - Now I have a brand new iPhone 5S (totally love it)... and I just created an iCloud acccount with an other email address than I used back at the time I had my old 4S.
But... now I would like to use the same 'old' iCloud email address that I used on my previous 4S iCloud account.
Since that previous iCloud account is linked to an email address that no longer exists, I don't know how to do this!!
    Can someone please help??

Each of you should set up your separate iCloud account on your own computer using your Apple ID. This gives you two independent iCloud accounts.
Note that an iPad is not a multi-user device. It can only be synced with one account.

  • Can i use home sharing when two different apple accounts are on the same computer?

will home sharing work when two iTunes Libraries are on the same computer?

Can you be more clear about what you mean. More detail please.
Is this the solution you are looking for?
Log in to both user accounts and launch iTunes. Turn on Home Sharing from the 'Advanced' menu at the top of the screen.
Leave iTunes running and use Fast User Switching to switch between user accounts. You will notice that each user's library of media is available to the other user and you can copy media from the other user to the current user's account.

  • Can I use two computers with the same Icloud account

  • Any way to sync icalendar across 4 different iphones, each with a different icloud account?, Any way to sync icalendar across 4 different iphones, each with a different icloud account?

Basically the subject describes my question. Any way to sync icalendar across 4 iphones? so each of us could access the app, change an event time, location, etc. and it would edit across all 4 devices. Any pointers would be super helpful. thanks

You can share an iCloud calendar. Easiest way... log into icloud.com from a browser on your computer. Go to the calendar. Create a calendar to share. Click the little wifi-looking sharing icon next to the calendar name, invite the people you want to share it with, and Bob's your uncle.
