This message comes up "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID" trying to down load movies of another computer of ICloud how do I get By?

Hi Allan, thanks for that. I've already set up a log in for my wife and that is all working fine. The problem is that when she logs in and opens iTunes and trys to associate her library with her iTunes account she gets the error message "This computer is already associated with another iTunes account". Whilst this is true, the computer is associated with my iTunes account under my separate log in, which should have nothing to do with hers. If she transfers the association to her account it will lock me out of my content on my log in for 90 days - I'm trying to work out how to associate each of the log in accounts with a separate iTunes account so we can access our music independently of one another without locking each other out. Hope that makes sense!

  • I purchased a tv series and downloaded the first episode, when I went to download the next episode a message popped up saying "this computer is already associated with an apple id" and won't let me download the rest of the shows

I purchased a tv series and downloaded the first episode, when I went to download the next episode a message popped up saying "this computer is already associated with an apple id.....You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 41 days" and won't let me download the rest of the shows even though I haven't changed accounts and I'm using the same account I purchased the shows with.

It's been months, so you may not care anymore, but you can't download songs from multiple Apple IDs over a 90 days period.  Sorry, it's not allowed for legal reasons.

  • HT5731 I bought a full season of a TV show. I downloaded all episodes. When I go into my iTunes library, select the episodes I get a message of: This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. I can't for the life of me get the TV show to play.

I bought a full season of a TV show. I downloaded all episodes, I went to my  iTunes library, selected the episode I wanted to watch. I got this message: This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. I can't for the life of me get the TV shows to play. I went on iTunes and when to my purchases. Clicked on the episodes and the same message popped up. How do I get these to play? I also see my download box with an error message saying it has paused the download. I click unpause and it just pauses again. I have been able to get one of the episodes to play once through, but now it gives me the same message.

This computer is already associated with an Apple ID fault box comes up when attempting to download purchases made on the same account (signed in on an authorized computer). Why?

    You do what it says.

  • Can't download U2 album (this computer is already associated with an Apple ID)

Title pretty much sums it up. I can see the recently released, free-of-charge U2 album in my purchases, but when I click on the cloud icon I get the message that "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID" which is not at all revealing of just what the problem is. Then there's this bit below:
"You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 2 days."
What the heck does THAT mean?

  • Pre purchase download ... won't.  States "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.

I prepurchased a movie in iTunes and after waiting several months got an email indicating that I could now download and enjoy the movie.  So I was able to download the iTunes extras, but as for the movie itself, I am getting an annoying message stating "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.  You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days.  this computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 33 days."
Huh?  What ID other than my own does it think is associated with this purchase, and where is the setting for this "association" found.  This is pretty infuriating after the wait!
    Appreciate the help!
    Kbt

I just updated to itunes 10.3 & iOS 6.1 and I cannot download a song to my library! I get the error "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases on the computer with just one apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 75 days." WHAT??
I've never had problems before - my husband and I have used the same library for years.  My daughter also has her own Apple ID... are we going to have trouble with that, too?  Actually we have 4 Apple IDs - somewhere around 8 Apple devices... this is a huge issue for us... HELP

Just to be clear - I just bought a new song and can't download it into the library because of this error message.

  • Error Msg: This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.

When I'm trying to download an album onto my mac that I purchased in iTunes using my phone, it gives me this error message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
When I try to change the preferences on my Mac's iTunes to Wutomatically download Music from other devices, I press ok, and it gives me the same message:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
It's very frustrating, because I am using the same apple id on both devices. And, when I download an album through itunes on my Mac, it automatically uploads to my phone without an issue.
Why can't I do it the other way?
    How do I fix this?

This is a somewhat recent change, but frankly there is no reason to constantly be logging out of one Apple ID and logging in with a different Apple ID.
If multiple people with different Apple ID's are regularly using the same computer, either authorize the computer for each of the Apple IDs or created unique logins on the computer for each user and have each sign in with their appropriate Apple ID.

  • What does this mean? "This computer is already associated with an apple ID"

I just subscribed to Music Match on my laptop.
Now I am trying to add my main computer that has the majority of my music to Music Match as well but I get an error:
"This computer is already associated with an apple ID"
What does that even mean? Of course it is associated with an apple ID. Isn't the whole point that I can add up to 10 devices under the same ID?
    I don't get it.

I set up a call with Apple Support to talk to a live person.
It was a terrible experience but I got it fixed.
Set it up to call me at a specific time.
First call - After explaining about 5 times and transfered the same amount of times, the final person I talked to got very combative and hung up.
Setup another call back and being transfered around 3-4 times, I got to Audrey, who I was told was a "Senior Advisor".  All I can say is... it's the support employee I wish I got first.  She wasn't with the iTunes team, but chatted them, tried some stuff.
Finally it came down to that there was "another ID" attached to my mac.  I have multiple User Accounts on my mac, but they said it shouldn't matter.  I had never used another account within iTunes (though my iCloud account is separate, it has never been used in iTunes).
She said they removed that account, and told me to wait 15 minutes.  She setup a callback.  I waited 15 minutes, and it worked.
Audrey called me back, gave me her email address and callback number in case further issues come up with this.
The first 7-8 people I talked to made me feel like I was calling just about every other support line (and I expect more from Apple), but Audrey, singlehandedly, restored my faith that support means helping the customer (and not simply saying they are sorry over and over without doing a thing).

  • This computer is already associated with an Apple ID (when trying to download family purchases)

On my iMac I have five user accounts: 1 master family, father (me), wife, daughter and son.  For iTunes, the family is used for family sharing and as is the organizer for family purchases.
My son's iCloud account is maintain through the Family account as he is under 13.  I recently set up his user on the family computer and today started to build up his iTunes library so he can sync his iPod.  iTunes was not logged into his iCloud account and had no music (it had not been used before).  I entered his iCloud account and annoyingly it would not recognize the password I had recorded for him so I had to go through iForgot,  Once in I went to family purchases to download a song that I had just purchased on the family account.  It stated that this computer was not authorized to I authorized it using my son's iCloud account. When I went to download it stated:
This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID in 72 days.
What?  It's a new set up....
I deauthorized the computer and reauthorized it using the family account, as the computer is registered to the family account.  Why I tried to download again I did not get the error about but this time it said the computer was not authorized (even though I just did it).  I appear to be stuck in a cycle of Apple ID association or authorization denial.  I'm a little PO'd.
In the end I did it the old fashioned way and simply dragged in the music using family sharing (as this is switched on).
Beyond having to wait 72 days for the Apple ID to resolve itself is there any other options?  Can I delete the entire user account of the computer and try again?  I'd be willing to do that if I thought it would work...

  • My TV shows won't download. It keeps saying error 3050 and this computer is already associated with an Apple ID. I really don't want to spend eight dollars on two episodes again. What do I do to fix this dilemma?

A couple oe f days ago, I started downloading the BBC's version of Sherlock. I have the entire first season completely downloaded. The second season (and unaired pilot) is a different story. It was downloading, but my internet kept crashing so I couldn't finish the downloading process. I shut down iTunes for the night and thought to myself "I finish it in the morning." This morning, I attempted to finish the downloading process, but it would only let me download two of the four episodes. The other two just say "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID. You can download past purchases with just one Apple ID every 90 days. This computer can be used with a different Apple ID after 90 days." I used one account to download the TV shows and nothing else.
I'm really confused and really frustrated with this. Any suggestions/answers are welcomed and greatly appreciated!

  • This computer is already associated with an Apple ID

I'm trying to download music I've purchased (in the past) via iTunes into my iMac. The past purchases were made [principally] via my iPad and, as a consequence, the actual music media is resident on my iPad. Since these music purchases, I've purchased an iMac. And, since the purchase of the iMac, I've received an iPod Nano as a gift (Christmas). The iMac is shared between my family members, each with their own Apple-ID and associated account. When I try to download the music I've purchased (in the past) via the "cloud icon" in iTunes, the iTunes store indicates "This computer is already associated with an Apple ID" and I need to wait "90 days" until I can download the rest of my music. So, I cannot download ANY music into the iMac under my personal user account and Apple-ID.
However, the aforementioned problem has disabled downloading music to my recently acquired iPod Nano (a Christmas gift), because the iPad Nano *can only obtain music via iTunes, via an iMac" (the IPod Nano lacks WiFi, so sync'ing can only be achieved via a USB-v2.0 port). So, my options are:
Buy another iMac desktop computer to download music to my iPod,
Wait until my birthday after March 2014 to actually use the iPod Nano I received on Christmas 2013.
Coordinate my iTunes purchases and potential gifts to occur on three (3) month boundaries and ensure that my iMac computer is NOT assoicated to any other Apple ID during this three (3) month period.
If option (3) get violated, implement Option (1) for any Apple device purchase.
Just as an aside, I'm a systems engineer and a software programmer of ~30 years. Honestly, the aforementioned options are the only options I have at this time to load purchased music into my iPod Nano (without hacking into my iMac to modify its MAC address). To me the whole iTunes thing seems a bit impetuous (being naive, unsophisticated, excessive, ridicilous). But maybe I don't understand the DCMA rights, media purchases, and Apple's marketing and sales strategies. But, REALLY?! c'mon Apple! Why not use the customer's Apple-ID *and* MAC address to verify authentication per device? Just using the MAC address would be OK if I were the only user of the *family's* iMac desktop computer. But, then, maybe that's an Apple sales strategy, only one user per iMac desktop computer? f this is the case, I will be visiting my local Apple Store to *DEMAND* a refund for all purchased Apple products (phones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, and my iPod Nano Christmas gift) and I'm going back to Android, Linux, and Amazon-MP3s.

    Same issue here.
It's not an error. It's a purposeful, arbitrary restriction put in place by content owners to prevent law-abiding citizens from organizing, sharing and using media that they purchased. Never mind that a nefarious pirate can circumvent these restrictions with 17 keystrokes.
It's the equivalent of the TSA: They're very good at finding Grandma Gertrude's nail clippers, but not so good at catching a shoe bomber.
God forbid that my wife has access to a file I downloaded with my iTunes account on a computer associated with my Apple ID. So let's prevent the converse by preventing her from signing in to the same computer using her Apple ID.
    Pretty obscene--and pretty much useless--restriction.

  • ITunes Store - Switching between Store Accounts - 'This Computer is already associated with an Apple ID' error

    Howdy
So I have 2 store accounts, as I travel and live between two countries.  I have been using this accounts for at least 6 years.  I regularly swap between the two, depending on which country I am in.  I have never encountered any issues, I buy, rent and download regularly.
For the first time ever, when I logged out of one store and into the other store (using the sign in /out  option from the dropdown menu) and clicked 'download' for the tv episode I had available (from a season pass), a popup box appeared with the 'This computer is already associated with an Apple ID.'
    - If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you cannot auto-download or download past purchases with a different Apple ID for 90 days.
The option is to 'Cancel' or 'Transfer'
I have encountered this problem on my iPad and iPhone previously, but never on my computer.  I haven't done anything different either.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  Has Apple finally decided to stop people having multiple store accounts?
    I appreciate any help.

The potential to associate a computer to an account for 90 days has been possible for a number of years like it has been on iOS devices, and can happen if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload past purchases (though, based on some posts I've seen, it doesn't always seem to happen) - I believe it's an attempt to try and stop people logging into their account on other people's computers or devices and redownloading/sharing their content, not to stop people having multiple accounts.
It shouldn't stop you buying new content on the account, just doing any of the above three things. If you want to do one of them on your other account then you can try contacting iTunes Support and see if they will remove the current association, but if you then do one of them on the other account then you are likely to start a 90 association to that account instead : Manage your associated devices in iTunes - Apple Support.
