This message is only partially downloaded

I just changed the incoming username for my mail server, and suddenly my emails on the iPhone would only show this message.

Ok, a power reset solved this.

That's normal. The iPad Mail only completely downloads emails which are less than a certain size. Presumably the idea is to conserve network resources.

  • Email "This message is only partially download" downloads the complete email inside that email instead of missing portions.

I am the co-owner of a large electronic cigarette company and use my phone quite a bit for email notifications and ever since the last update 7.1 (11D167) my iphone wont render emails properly if they need more downloaded from the server. It redownloads the entire email inside the original email instead of just the missing portion of the email making it difficult to read and a huge annoyance. Please see attached screen shots I took with my phone for more info. Of course for security reasons I had to block out customer data which is why it has black strips all over it. Is this a bug of some kind or is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?
The first image is how it looks initially the logo is cut off the top cause i had to scroll down.
The second image is the email inside the email. I have to scroll sideways and down to get to rest of it.
The third image is the full email that is inside the original email if i scroll all the way to the right and down to position it on my screen and is also how it looked before the update when it wasnt having the issue of loading in the email it would just render to look like that as a single email and not overlap itself.

not a single reply in 2 days? hmmmmm

  • Phone only partially downloading messages

    Hi all,
Can someone help me figure this one out? I have been helping out a lot on the wordpress.com forums, and I tell WordPress to notify me of any new replies to my topics via email, like I do with any forum I post in. However, with the wordpress.com forums, it does nt download the entire message. It will usually say "This message is only partially downloaded." then a button will be present telling me to download the remaining message in terms of number of kb. Is there some sort of setting I need to change to automatically get it to download the entire message all the time?

No it's not, otherwise I would think I would have issues with these messages on my computer as well but no issues there. While this isn't an issue exclusively to the WordPress emails, it's most common with them. I had a message that came in from a mailing list that I am on that did something similar. Here, it actually allowed me to read some of the message, but then prompted me to download the rest. How do I automatically tell it to download the entire message regardless of size?

  • HT204406 I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account, and downloaded my library from the Cloud to my new computer. However, many songs only partially downloaded, and now I'm having a hard time getting rid of them to do full downloads.

I authorized a second computer on my iTunes account and tried to get my first computer's library on my second computer via the Cloud. Many of the songs only partially downloaded, and I am having a hard time getting rid of the library with the partial downloads (so I can get full songs). I am considering nuking the current iTunes on the second computer and re-installing, giving myself a clean slate to work with. Is this the right way to go?

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server"

Hello, Ever since ive had an iPhone and have used Edge to open a resaonably sized email i usually get "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Im sure this has to do with the slow Edge network timing out. How do you correct this if there is no "Download Now" button. The only solution I have found was to force quit the Mail App (Hold Home button for 6 seconds) and go back in and pray that it downloads without timing out.

There was a thread on this yesterday that stated that if there is more message it may take four to five minutes to download the entire message and/or attachments.
One poster even said that it has taken him over 30 minutes in some cases.
I have this same problem on some email and on others the entire email is downloaded, including any attachments. Since there is no communication put out by Apple regarding this anomaly, it is hard to say whether this a an Apple or provider, i.e., Google or Yahoo.

  • A music track I purchased only partially downloaded. I am unable to re-download it again as there is no option, so cannot get the full track I have purchased. Any ideas?

I purchased an 8 minute music track on itunes which only downloaded about 22 seconds. It does not give me the option to re-download what I purchased on itunes, only to play it - so it only re-plays the partially downloaded track. I know the full track is available as I managed to download it to my iphone but when i connected my iphone to itunes the one which was only partially downloaded saved in my music directory overwrote the full version I managed to get on my iphone so I'm back to square one again. Any ideas? Thanks

Delete the track from the iTunes library, allowing iTunes to move the track file to the Trash. Then download the track again from the iTunes Store via this procedure:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519
That fixes the problem for many people. If problems with the track persist, go here:
    iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.
    Regards.

  • How to redownload an itunes audiobook that only partially downloaded?

How to redownload an itunes audiobook that only partially downloaded?

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so if it didn't download properly then you will need to contact iTunes Support, which you can either do via the 'report a problem' page : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
Or (and ff the 'report a problem' link doesn't work) then you can try this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Apps will only partially download

So after trying everything under the sun I finally succumb to restoring my phone back to its original settings and wiping all data.  I thought this was successful with everything looking good and each app working  except now if I add new apps, it will still only partially download the apps and then freeze even though iTunes says it has synced!!  Any other suggestions?  I have only had this problem since downloading the new ios.

It sounds like the issue you are having is with your Apple ID.  Not your iPhone.  Any amount of restoring wouldn't help verify your Apple ID.  You may want to try downloading apps on your computer to see if there is some sort of verification needed.
A lot of times Apple will prompt to update your billing information or security questions when something has unexpectedly changed.
You can also try to log into appleid.apple.com.

What video format (including embedded audio) is able to be viewed and heard by both OSX Lion users and Windows users?
You have to make a distinction between the container format (eg, AVI, MKV) and the video/audio format (eg, DIVX). For instance, without additional software, QuickTime can play .avi files with the IndeoVideo codec, but not .avi file with the DivX codec). Further, you have to make the distinction between what can be played using an independent player, eg, QuickTime Player, and what can be played within the presentation software (Keynote or PowerPoint).
    You can refer to
    <http://mac2.microsoft.com/help/office/14/da-dk/powerpoint/item/7acce321-36fb-48d 6-8c76-12cb3a0063ee>
for suggestions. In practice, for presentation clips, I think you're limited to MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. I don't know if an additional MPEG-2 QuickTime component is required under Lion, you'll have to check that yourself. So, in the end, it's MPEG-4. Both Keynote and PowerPoint Win/Mac should be able to handle it.
can anyone suggest a safe application that I can purchase from the apple app store that will allow me to convert video files
What's a 'safe application'? And why do you have to buy it from the App Store (yuck!)?
Handbrake, as mentioned by X423424X, is free and works very well. There are probably others, too.
this forum is the best place to learn
Perhaps, but it may not be the place to get answers to this question. Try a PowerPoint Mac user forum, they would have more experience in these x-platform issues. This forum is oriented more towards the hardware side of the MBP platform.

  • "This message has not been downloaded from the server" - Multiple devices all using Exchange Active Sync

We are having this issue across multiple IOS devices ranging from IOS version 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2. Many (not all) emails sent to the devices are unreadable and simply state: "This message has not been downloaded from the server". Microsoft believes this to be some sort of bug with the IOS devices in the way they are handling the SSL encryption.
    Facts:
    - Devices are connected to an Exchange 2010 SP1 Rollup 6 via Active Sync (No POP3, IMAP or SMTP)
    - issue occurs on multiple IOS devices within the organization ranging from IOS 5.x up to the latest 6.1.2
    - Issue occurs on both external cellular data and internal wireless networks
    - Not all emails sent to the devices result in the error, but issue does tend to occur more frequently from certain senders/domains
    - Using the same user account on an android phone does not result in an issue (even when receiving the exactly same email that has been sent to the IOS devices)
    - Closing mail app / rebooting device does not resolve the issue
    - Doesn't appear to matter what the mesage format is (can be html, plaintext, etc)
    - Spent nearly 7 hours with Microsoft going through the Exchange server configuration and looking for possible causes. None have been found and all testing indicates things are setup correctly.
    - This is not a case of Issue 2.3 listed here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2563324 (verified by Microsoft Support)
    - If we disable SSL on the IOS device and connect via plain HTTP the messages are displayed correctly!
    - If we use a different SSL certificate, the issue still occurs - so not a problem with the original cert.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what would cause this? Does the ISO devices have any sort of log that would indicate why it's reporting this error? The current error is pretty unhelpful.

GFI Have a solution for this problem. It is to do with iOS implementation of reading the message headers when SPF compliance modifications are made by GFI.

  • I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now my e-mails say, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  We have an Exchange server at work.  ??

I updated my iphone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 and now I cannot retreive or send my e-mails.  We have an Exchange server at work.  I still receive the e-mails on all my devices just fine and I can see the subject headings & a small portion of the body of the e-mail, but when I open the e-mails there is no body and it reads, "This message has not been downloaded from the server".  Very aggrevating and is not helping my business at ALL!!  Same has happened with both iPads we own now.

Delete then add back the exchange acct on each device.
