Upgrade to V8 overwrote the existing version of Firefox. It was only then I found that V8 will not work with my OS

Matt may not have noticed that you were using both the old OSX 10.4.1 and have PPC hardware.
There is a third-party option for PPC Macs at http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/ though do note http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported

I get the same error (although in Dutch ;-)).
It also says something like (I'm translating): "Make sure your network settings are correct and your networkconnection is active or try again later." Is there a way to find out these "correct networksettings"?
I now get it for a week, eacht time I connect my iPhone to itunes...

Have a similar problem. This MacBook opened all MS Office programs in Dec2012 but no longer does in Feb2013. Went to Microsoft/mac/downloads but none of the three updates would run citing a problem "version of software needed to run this update was not found on this volume".

Most printing issues are solved by resetting the Printing preferences. When you print from Firefox and you click on the down arrow, do you see Defualt and Firefox? Please make changes to the preferences here and preview the document.

the iphone is designed to be synced to your computer. You should have been syncing your contacts with Outlook, Address Book for example from day one.
Have you failed to do this?

I'm having similar issues. The iPhone4's face time works just as it always did but the iPad4 is not working. I can place a call but it won't connect, others can call and it rings but never connects. Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
