"This password is different" Issue with MobileMe Syncing
Hi all,
I am getting an issue on two of my Mac's at the moment, which are both MobileMe sync'd (Contacts, Calendar and recently, Bookmarks) which is that saved passwords are no longer being pre-filled and when i enter the password it states "This password is different. Would you like to replace the saved password with this one?" even though the password is correct and the one that is stored.
It's obviously something that has happened when i turned Bookmark sync on, but I don't know what, not how to undo it. Obviously I have taken Bookmark sync off now, but it hasn't rectified the issue.

O.K., I'm not a computer guy so I don't know why this caused it, but I found out what my problem was and maybe this will help. I had loaded a plug in for a school site that the only way to get it to run was to do a "Get info" on the safari app and check "Open Using Rosetta." The plug in ran fine and I forgot about it. I finally went back and unchecked that box and now my passwords/usernames are working fine after about a week of frustration.

Problems with mobileme syncing ...
Hi everyone. I'm having massive problems with mobileme sync with my iphone, my macbook and MacPC G5. Essentially I want the iphone contacts and calender data to overwrite anything on laptop and pc but I keep getting message that contacts couldn't be synced due to inconsistent data. Despite me overriding it. I'm not sure how I go about confirming that the computers data is valid and actually whether I want to because its the iphone data I want. Then despite saying its synced calenders its not updating on my macbook or PC ... any suggestions gratefully received. Its doing my head in! Oh I'm on Leopard OS.
Hi Chris, Thanks for the advice, I haven't tried that yet. Will do so and pray that it will work. This however doesn't solve the problem of appointments I'm putting on my iphone not updating on PC and laptop - they do however update on mobile me cloud! Any advice greatly appreciated!

Issue with Ipad Syncing with Exchange
We have 6 folks using Ipads regularly to access our corporate exchange server. Up to now things have been fairly stable.
That said starting this week our President has been having significants issues with the syncing process. The process seems to be hanging (however it may be jsut retrying over and over). This is resulting in some emails getting sent multiple times. It also appears that the syncing of Calendar events is sporadic.
No updates ahve been applied to the Exchange server.
He is a pretty heavy user of the Ipad and email and recieves alot of attachments some that are large 5-10mb. I see some chatter about these types of issues but no real solutions.
Is anyone else seeing this type of activity? If so any thoughts on how to improve the issue.
ThanksI connected my IPAD for sync with Itunes on my laptop, DELL 6500 running Windows Vista.
Itunes prompted me to download new OS version 3.2.x It then went to restart my IPAD- and then boom !! .. windows said it couldnt find my ipad driver. I went to apple support site and followed their instructions and still windows cant find the driver. Hence my IPAD is not stuck showing the connect to ITUNES screen .. cant use it and cant get update.
Any one has any ideas what happened ? -
My iPhone 4s will not charge in car or truck. It would appear after research that this is a software issue with ios5. Will there ever be a patch to correct this infuriating problem?!!!
Mine charges just fine, as does everyone's iPhone 4S that I know. Apple even sells a number of car chargers that are certified to work:

Perhaps there is a problem with your charger or the outlet you're using in your car/truck. -
Teachers in our district are supposed to use www.thinkcentral.com with FireFox.
Some have no problem accessing the lesson plans.
Most when they login click on a lesson plan and an icon shows up that says loading but never does.
If you reboot the computer and login you can open a page once but not a second time and no other lessons will open.
Think Central support says this is a security issue with Firefox.
I have updated FireFox, all the Adobe, Reader, Flash, Air and Shockwave. As well as Java.
I have allowed the pop ups to the think Central web site.
Any help would be appreciatedAre there any notification icons on the left end of the address bar? If so, please click them to see whether they related to security issues (such as blocked content - shield icon: [[How does content that isn't secure affect my safety?]]) or a plugin requiring permission (Lego-like icon).
Does Think Central have any help pages about this issue? Without an account, it is difficult to explore the issue first-hand. -
Why does FF save files to desktop, when I have "downloads" checked in options? This is a new issue with the latest version 3.6.3 . Using Windows XP Driving me nuttier! Thanks.

It was just a hunch that MircoNetFrame was causing the problem. I disabled it as you suggested, and I still have the problem.
I just changed under Tools>Options> General - had checked "ask me every time" under downloads, so instead of asking me, FF saved the download to I know not where. It no longer saves it to the desktop, leaving a duplicate in "my documents".
In windows, I have found unless one knows the entire name of the document, one can never find anything. It isn't listed under recent ''''''__. I can't recall the nomenclature, but the
capability is ridiculous. So, I don't know where that file I just downloaded is!
I downloaded a PDF file, but this happens with all DL's. It was so easy to have them all stacked in one place and I could recall
what I had and when I downloaded it easily.
Do you have any other suggestions other that going back to the old version of FF, which I would rather not do?

I have Calendar v 7.0 and Entourage 12.3.6 2008 on OS X 10.9.2. I cannot import Entourage events into Calendar - this was never an issue with iCal. Whats happened and how can I import details into Calendar or do I need iCal back?

This is beyond frustrating. I just wasted 70 dollars between a new battery and gas for my ipod 80gb classic. It was having major issues syncing and freezing with itunes. I tried everything possible and noticed that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their ipod classics as well. I must have restored it several times and now it just totally bit the dust. Now I have to shell out 130 dollars to send it in to apple to be rebuilt/fixed. This is nonsense and I just cant believe apple isn't doing anything to address this issue. My ipod was doing great for about nearly 5 years and now this. I even down-graded to itunes 10.7, but by the time I had it set up to try, that's when my ipod totally failed and will not even come on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -
ICal syncing issues with MobileMe, iPhone
A while back, I noticed that there were a couple of entires in my iCal that were damaged/corrupt—I could not delete them without iCal crashing. I was willing to live with this, except that it started causing problems when syncing to MobileMe. New entries or not, my iMac attempted to sync with MobileMe almost constantly, and would hang in this mode for an inordinate amount of time. The constant syncing slowed down my Internet connection, so I turned syncing off and no longer updated my online calendar.
A couple of weeks ago, I purchased the iPhone. More often than not, syncing from my iMac to the iPhone caused iTunes to lock up or crash. When it didn't, it would take 5 to 10 minutes to sync, hanging on the calendar. When it was successful, my iPhone had every permutation of calendar events that had been moved or deleted—making it essentially useless.
Since the calendar seems to be the common denominator, I backed it up and deleted all entries from both iCal on my iMac and MobileMe. Now, syncing with my iPhone is effortless—but I have no access to my calendar entries. My question: How do I delete the offending entries from my calendar, thereby correcting the problem and once again having access to it on all devices and the Web?From what your write, it is a little hard to tell, what exactly your problem is, though you may want to try the following, which helped me at time:
step one:
export all of your calendars one by one, including the one with entries giving you problems
step two:
erase all of your calendars and create a dummy character, check if syncing works with that one.
reimport the previously exported calendars one by one, redoing the syncing routines.
In the instances I had problems, I found that exporting and reimporting a calendar file usually did away with the problem
Also, at least on my machines, turning on the birthday link to address book, created some problems, so you might want to try without that feature too.
If you got everything working on one machine, another strategy can be to reinitiate syncing from that one, i.e. erase and reinstall the syncing process on the others. Just make sure you have an up to date back up of your entries.

ICal with mobileme syncing - old way and new way
After I also had to upgrade my mobileme account, my local calendar is not syncing anymore. So there appears to be a different way of syncing calendar:
Before upgrading:
I had my local calendars that used to be synced with the mobile me calendars
Also I used to subscribe at the local copy of my calendars with other users calendars
After upgrading:
I no longer have a local version on the calendars synced with my mobileme
I have a "username"@me.com synced copy on my local computer.
Also subcriptions to other people calendars can happen centrally on mobileme and don't have to repeat it on all my devices.
Is this a correct description (at a simple level)? I wish there was some kind of a short video or description article before the upgrade (I did not see one)I had the same issue and think I got it resolved.
I updated my iCal on Me.com and then my local calendar stopped syncing with my iphone. Nothing that I added on my iphone would sync onto my Macbook Pro and vice versa. I got an .ics invite from a friend, tried to add it, and it added on my phone, but wouldn't sync on my laptop... also wouldn't allow me to accept or decline on my phone (and obviously not my laptop because it wasn't in iCal). So, I went on my iPhone into >Settings >Mail,Contacts,Calendars and clicked on my .Mac account and turned OFF my calendars. It will ask you "do you want to save the local data on your iphone or delete? Everyone do what you want, but I left it on my phone - figured it'd be less to sync over again.
After I did that, I turned the calendar sync back on on my iphone and waited for it to finish loading. Then synced my mobileme on my laptop and the local calendar events reappeared! My friends' invite finally appeared on my laptop so I could accept it and then it confirmed and updated on my phone - so I knew everything was syncing properly again.
I hope this helps you guys out with this. They really should have a video tutorial on this - considering Apple has a video tutorial on everything else!

I have configured 5 gmail accounts, 3 yahoo accounts and 1 live account. Everything was working fine until a day came that I was forced to change the password of all my G accounts. I changed it in my phone also but since then I cant sync just 1 gmail account. Not that I cant sync but its not loading the mails in the viewer. Email app works fine with other accounts. I tried deleting all the account and re-created all the accounts still its not working. I tried deleting it from email.nokia.com and STILL its not working. a 3 months ago I had the same issue with another G account. What I did then was I stopped using the Email app. I sstarted using it only a 3 weeks ago as I really needed a client on my phone. Wish someone could help me out from this really awkward situation

Issue with Ford Sync (Microsoft Sync) & iPhone 4--Playing Music via USB
I have a 2011 Ford Flex and and iPhone 4. The Sync system will not play music via the USB connection. It is quite temperamental with the bluetooth as well. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Well I have a 2010 Fusion with Sync and an iPhone 4. Have had various issues getting things to work right all the time. I'm not sure if Sync in the 2011's is much different.
When you say it doesn't play music, what does it do when you give it the USB command? Does the iPhone charge when plugged into the USB port? If the phone charges and it seems to let you select USB but doesn't play any music, on your iPhone, go to iPod and you may see an accessory connected screen. Touch the icon next to SYNC and you will see SYNC and doc connector listed. Touch doc connector and see if the music is heard.
If you haven't already register at www.syncmyride.com you will find some community forums there with hints/steps on getting Sync and iPhone to work properly.
Generally though, there have been a lot of issues with SYNC and Apple devices.

Hi Everyone,
I'd like to share an issue I am having with photo syncing between my iDevices.
Here is how I USED to sync my Photos between my iDevices (no issues with photo duplication)
Note: In this scenario, I use iTunes and iPhoto on my Mac. iCloud and Photo stream have NOT been activated in this case.
1. Take photos via iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. After a month or so, I will connect my iPhone to my Mac.
3. Import my Photos in iPhoto and arrange Events and Photos in monthly sections and add some of them in a separate Albums (ex. Written Notes Photos) for easy access.
4. Once the import is done, iPhoto prompts an option to delete photos in my Camera Roll which I do as I like to start a fresh month with empty Camera Roll in my iPhone.
5. In order to access the Photos I have imported in iPhoto in my iPhone, I go to iTunes and sync all my photos to my iPhone. This syncs my events, photos, faces, albums as they have been arranged in iPhoto in my Mac. (I cant delete them in my iPhone once they are synced. I have to delete in my iPhoto and sync again to have similar setup in my iPhone which isn't a problem).
NOW I decided I don't want to manually go through all this process and went on to enable the Photo Stream ON in my iPhone and iPhoto with iCloud.
THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM ENSUES.
1. I Take photos with my iPhone that saves in Camera Roll
2. This automatically syncs with my Mac due to Photo Stream which a really convenient.
3. It syncs automatically to Photo Stream, Events, Photos, Faces section in the iPhoto and I put put some of them (notes) in a separate album.
THE PROBLEM:
The Photos does not show up in the Album, Events and Photos Folder in my iPhone. They are only shown in Camera Roll. So I thought to sync using iTunes so the new Photos will be arranged in their appropriate folder like it used to with my prior process of syncing. This worked, HOWEVER the photos in my iPhone started showing DUPLICATES! Apparently, one comes from Photo Stream (which, if I delete on my phone also deletes in all my iDevices) and the other duplicate is from the iTunes sync (this sets up my photos as arranged in iPhoto which is what i WANT to happen as Photo Stream does not sync them accordingly).
SOLUTION I AM IN SEARCH FOR:
I want to be able to take photos with my iPhone that automatically syncs in iCloud AND iPHOTO AS ARRANGED IN MY MAC (Albums, Events etc) WITHOUT PROBLEM OF PHOTO DUPLICATES.Other folks have resolved similar issues by trashing the iPod Photo Cache.

Hi all, I have a big problem with the sync of images and photos from PC to iPod Touch 4G with iOS 4.3.3 using iTunes (lastest version).
Every time i try to sync a folder, iTunes do the optimization, but when it goes to sync them to the iPod, it only sync for example only 1 photo out 20. The message that appear is exactly this one: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1306?viewlocale=en_US
But i tried 100 times and I still haven't been lucky.
Please Help!I am having the same issue with my iPhone 4. just bought it yesterday and plugged into itunes and got the same error. this is a brand new phone and just updated to latest firmware in itunes.
I am running 4.2.1 and 10.2.1 on the iphone and itunes.
4.3 is out for the iphone 4 but I cannot even sync the update with out the error saying the drive cannot be read or written to.

Are photos sent in a Direct Connection logged anywhere in the computer?
I closed the instant message before i was able to save the photo. Are these logged anywhere - i realize this is different from sending a file, but shouldn't there be a cache of the photo somewhere?
