This phone is terrible. I have been a blackberry supporter for 6 years, I always defend their phones against IPhone people and I have always said I will stick with them but this Z10 is a piece of **bleep**. I have gone from being a net promoter to a net detractor. The battery life is a joke, I charge it all night and it dies within an hour, the screen is difficult to navigate and it freezes all the time. I hoped this phone would be the saviour for blackberry but this may instead may be the thing that finally sinks them. 

The Z10 is so far above BBs older phones that they really shouldn't even be compared.
I hung in with the Torch (original OS 6 version) for 3 years waiting for the Z10.
The Z10 makes the Torch look like the junk it pretty much was.
If you're having crashing, freezing, battery life problems:
1) make sure you have the latest OS release
2) if issues persist, you have a bad phone. Exchange it.
My battery lasts 2 days with my normal useage.
Mine has never frozen, locked up, or spontaneously reset even with the original OS, and I pretty much never shut it down or restart it myself.

    There are 2 menu styles. First you will need to switch to the alternate style before guiding me (not the style that comes enabled when you get the phone). I believe it is the classic style.
    I do not upgrade until the 14th so if I could get some replies before then would be great! I am not bluffing...I have no use for the batteries after I upgrade so I promise to send a battery to my top helpers! Thanks all for your help!

I wanted to sync my iPhone to add mew music but upon syncing I keep getting a pop up message saying "THE IPHONE "  " COULD NOT BE SYNCED BECAUSE THIS COMPUTER IS NO LONGER AUTHORIZED FOR PURCHASED ITEMS ON THIS PHONE" and tells me to go to the store tab on the top and to authorize this computer and every time I do it says computer is already authorized. I will also mention that my iTunes account is the only account that is used on my Mac and it is the only account I've used on my iPhone. Ive synced them plenty of time with no problems. I have never came across this message before and now my iPhone won't sync. I have been online for an hour now looking for solutions but I haven't found any that successfully worked. Ive rebooted both my Mac and iPhone with no success. ow for some reason when I plug my iPhone in it does not even charge but my Mac reads it and it shows up in the iTunes store so I tried syncing it again 1 more time snap it just gets stuck on step 1. I must also say state that is did successfully back up but absolutely will not sync. Can anybody please help me out without resetting my iPhone. Thanks

    Thanks Gail but ive tried that as well as logging oht and back into my accounts on my iphone and mac but I still get that message. I actually found a solution by unckecking my synced music playlist and clicking sync to remove it and then reclicked on my playlist to sync and it actually synced notmally and I got all of my new songs so I wanted to test it again so I clicked on sync again and the message once again popped up until I did the un-syncing and re-syncing again. I guess I will keep doing that in the future even though its annoying but its better than resetting my iphone.

    Why don't you call Apple tech support thru your provider. They will be able to help you in short order.
    PS - If you want help here you need to provide a little more information i.e. how much memory does your iPhone -4- have and how much free memory do you have after restoring from the cloud?

    When you look at your iPhone, are you looking in the Music app or in the iTunes app?  Be sure you are looking in the Music app, and look in the Songs category.  If your songs are not here, you may want to try syncing your information again through iTunes.  To do this, uncheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync in the bottom right corner of iTunes, and then recheck "Sync Music" and then click apply or sync again.

    I am having the same problem. I have just tried this. Unplug iphone > open itunes > delete all music from itunes library > close itunes > re-open itunes > add music from original folder > plug in iphone > select songs > press sync > unplug iphone using eject button onscreen > checked phone .... still nothing in music folder on phone. On itunes the "On this iphone" tab the songs remain there but greyed out.

    If you want to delete a song from your iOS device on iOS 7, tap Songs, swipe the song from right to left, then tap Delete. The song is deleted from iPhone, but not from your iTunes library on your Mac or PC, or from iCloud.

    - Connect the iPod to the computer and see if iTunes sees it. If it sees it try to get the photos off the iPod.
    - Next let the battery fully drain. It will likely take days. After charging for at least an hour try again
    - Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

    Take the iPhone to an Apple store genius bar for testing, and if it is defective and under warranty they will replace.  Since you say iPhone 4, was this a used or refurbished iPhone? 

  • I'm so done with this phone.

    Ok so my husband and I both got the htc droid in february of this year and have had numerous problems.  We had read some of the reviews before deciding to get the phone and decided it would be a good one to get.  Apparently the reviews were written sometime in the first month of having the phone.  
    While the idea is great this phone is truly the first one I have ever yelled at in the middle of a store or honestly felt like throwing against a wall.  Great way to wean yourself off using the phone too much? Just upgrade to the htc droid!  I hate making phone calls because it takes 5-10 secs to load my call history, then I push the send button and what do you know I called the wrong person.  Try using my favorites list, hmm well if I wanted to call the person two people above their pic then thats who I would have pushed.  Tried sending pics to my email it took 5 attempts and 24 hours for me to get them.  I get force closed all the time, then it doesn't close anything,{word filter avoidance}
    ?  I hate text messaging, i type fast and never had a problem with my LG Dare ( the last phone I had) but the droid seems to have a brain fart everytime I write a text message.  
    Forget the market, are you kidding me? What a disaster, I don't have two hours to spend on the phone to look for an app that won't affect the already crappy apps I already have on my phone.  My husband gave up sending pic messages, not too mention that everything scrolls the the left and then won't scroll back.  Every time our phones are plugged in to charge they freak, literally!  They jump from app to app, things get highlighted green and scrolls up and down all the time.  Set it on the table and walk slowly away! The phone gets hot, the battery runs out, and because we have to charge it so often the car charger is fried!  I am constantly in a fight with my phone to get my home screen to come up, the update may have fixed some of the other issues but it also added so many more.  
    I have waited and waited, to avoid the scene I now know is going to come up, to go into Verizon to complain and see what they can do. We went in once because of the issues we were having, their solution add Advance Task Killer, super!  That got old really fast, I shouldn't have to babysit my phone and make sure everything is turned off when I'm done, hello isn't this a smart phone?   Then my attempt at tech support, his solution -remove some of the apps since they may be affecting the other ones, oh yeah and by the way, you should pull the battery out at least once a day to reboot the phone!   What?!  You have got to be kidding me! 
    I am not a tech savvy person, I know my way around most phones and get along just fine with most things, but I can't tell you what version of some unknown upgrade could possibly be on my phone or what has caused what.  I don't want to have constantly be downloading something to fix an issue that shouldn't be an issue.  Isn't that why companies have beta testers? To test their products before they are released to make sure that there are as few issues as possible?  The race to have the best, smartest, coolest phone on the market, even when two days later it will be outdated, shouldn't be affecting the products that we pay good money for!
    There are other issues, but I can be done for now.

    Good luck! A refurb will probably fix most of those problems...unless that one suffers from it too. Some users are reporting being on their 3rd+ Eris. I'm "only" on my 2nd.
    Two problems in your list won't be helped by a new Eris. You mentioned trouble with picture messages. One problem that the maintenance update in July (called MR4) introduced is that picture messages are now being interpreted as 5-second slideshows. You will not be able to get rid of that problem with a refurb, as the update (which Verizon has made mandatory) causes it. This issue will also affect who can receive pictures from you: I have a friend with an LG EnV2 who is unable to receive pictures from me after the update, though others still receive them fine--HTC says that only those phones which are, "too old" (yes, their words) will not be able to get pictures from the Eris.
    Unfortunately, HTC refuses to support this problem, and one representative, Danty, confirmed that they have absolutely no intention of releasing any new updates to fix it. Verizon says they can't do anything if HTC says there's nothing to be done, so I'm not sure if we'll ever see this one fixed. ):
    Second, the "brain fart" while texting will be present in any replacement you get as well. The Eris' touch keyboard is VERY slow; it just can't keep up. I'd guess it's a hardware problem, or the way the software interacts with the hardware: when I had to have mine replaced, it was because the vibrate mechanism died. That was annoying, but it did have a positive consequence: the phone suddenly became very fast; typing could keep up with me, switching to landscape view was snappy, and apps opened faster as well. There are no officially-sanctioned methods of fixing this. (The only method other users are reporting success with voids your warranty and requires being very tech savvy--personally, I haven't been willing to go that route, but others swear by it.)
    Overall, it's a shoddy product, and HTC refuses to honor their obligation to support it. Personally, I'll never buy another HTC phone again, and I tell others to avoid HTC as well. Unfortunately, it sounds like you also learned this lesson the hard way. ):

    My contract is up in late November and I really hate this phone. I constructed a list of pros/cons.
    I can hand write a message and put it on a horse and it will get delivered faster than it takes this phone to start to send a message
    The touchscreen sometimes doesn't want to work or it stops working out of nowhere (usually in the middle of a text message).
    The phone locks up all the time and sometimes doesn't allow me to open the phone or messaging apps.
    It restarts itself while I'm doing something, but it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm doing something because it also does this while it sits on my table charging and doing nothing more.
    It is unreliable in an emergency situation due to the way it constantly freezes and always locks up from the simplest tasks
    I am told that I have to keep the phone 1cm away from my body at all times? What is up with that?
    The phone overheats all the time from literally doing NOTHING but sitting in my pocket.
    The battery lasts 5 hours (on a good day) from very basic use (text messaging, calling)
    Text messages don't always send and I don't always receive them.
    It takes hours for the phone to charge from 10% to 20%
    It's veeeeeeeeeery slow ALL THE TIME.
    The front LED buttons (home, back, search) don't light up very bright anymore.
    Whoever programmed the messaging app needs to be fired because it loads every single text message and multimedia message ever sent to you by that person every time you open a text message.
    Burns my leg after being left in my pocket for 20 minutes.
    Two 5-minute youtube videos drains my battery by usually 70%.
    Resetting the phone would literally do nothing, it still won't send/receive a few text messages
    I can't end a call, I've sat there for a good 10 seconds pressing the 'end' button hoping it would actually end the call.
    I have thought about going to a therapist for this phone.
    It takes 7 minutes for this phone to turn fully off and back on again. I've performed the test multiple times.
    While charging, the phone gets way too hot.
    I purposely tell my friends not to buy LG products due to this phone. When they buy a new LG product, I tell them to return it as soon as they possibly can.
    This phone sometimes doesn't register a call and starts to do some sort of a weird glitching thing where it tries to determine whether the call has enough time left to ask me if I want to answer it or if the phone should just ignore it overall and never tell me about it.
    I read somewhere that this phone is a broken, defective, unfixable hunk of ****.
    The 'pros' of this phone:
    It's an excellent hand warmer in the winter. Just hold the phone in between your hands and it feels like a nice hand warmer. Careful though, it might burn you.
    I can throw it at a wall a million times and it doesn't break! It's a great way to release my anger and I feel like LG knew that people would want to smash it against the wall simply because of how horrible the phone really is.
    Other comments:
    When my contract is up, I'm going to have a party. I'll hang this phone from a tree and hit it like a pinata and brutally
    beat it with every ounce in my body. I will burn it, beat it, and beat it some more. As the grand finale I will
    attach a mortar firework to it and enjoy it getting what it deserves.

    I can't wait to get a new phone as well. LG Revolution owners should be comped for this phone if Verizon intends to keep them as customers.
