This should be an easy Excel Chart Newbie question

I want to create a simple chart that compares the number of two rows with data in them. Row A has 75 rows with data - Row B has 25 rows with data. What would my "data range" look like for a chart to show one 75% one color
and 25% different color.
BTW - I don't need to programatically determine the number of rows - this is a one off and I can provide those values.

Below should be your data set and resultant graph (you can generate any other type of graph also).
Left click 2 times (not double click) bar of B in chart so that only bar B is selected. If you click once only, both A and B will be selected.
Now right click and Format it will required Fill colour.

JSPs reference to JPEGs .. this should be an easy one!

Hi,
We are moving our 6.20 java apps to NW04S J2EE apps. So, we have created EJB, Web and EAR projects for this.
In NWDS, we have used Import File to bring in all of our JSPs. NWDS stores them under the webContent folder in the Web project. Each JSP refers to /DCT/images/<filename>.jpg.
We have also used Import File to bring in the 6.20 images folder. In the project it is under /webContent/DCT/images.
When we preview the JSPs, the images do not show up unless we change the reference in the JSP to DCT/images<filename.jpg (no leading slash). Since there are so many JSPs we do not want to change the references in the JSPs.
Two issues we found:
1. We can only create a folder structure under webContent. It seemed to us that we would need to create /DCT/images at the project root.
2. In preview mode, when we right click -> propeties on the missing jpgs it says the jpg should be at c:\DCT\images. It is completly ignoring the file structure of our project.
Any clues to this mystery would be greatly appreciated.

Just took my vintage 2009 Macbook pro that was having trouble running Lion back down to Snow Leopard. (formatted drive and reloaded SL) How do I get iPhoto, Garage Band, Imovie etc.... in other words the apps that came installed on my 2009 machine when I bought it. They aren't part of the SL install.
No need to be concerned about my user data/settings/other apps etc... I migrated them over to a new Macbook pro I just purchased using a Time Machine backup. (worked wonderfully) but as I'm sure you know moving anything from a Lion TM backup to a SL machine isn't possible. I've heard there are ways but it's complicated and well all I really want is my 2009 machine to be like it was new and I'll I need for that is what I believe is the iLife stuff (again iPhoto, Garageband, iMovie etc...)

Thanks for the quick reply wjosten! I didn't get any disks with my computer. I bought it new from the online apple store.. I still have the original box it came in, user guide etc...it came loaded with Leopard but no disks. I had the SL disk as I purchased it to upgrade ( I know I could have downloaded it for free but I wanted a disk for the exact reason as for how I just used it to reinstall SL in case I needed to someday). In fact, I just bought a 2012 MacBook Pro, picked it up at my local Apple store and it did not come with any disks, same as before, it came with power cord, user guide, cleaning cloth, but no disks. I can understand that apple saves money, time, resources and environmental material by not including disks, but they should make it easy to download these things when you are in trouble and not charge even a small fee. I paid for these apps and merely want to reinstall them on the same machine they orignally came with.

New to MAC -help with previous systems folder -this should be an easy one!

My PowerBook G4 (running Leopard) recently crashed due to some corrupt files, per the Genius Bar. I got it up and running with the Leopard upgrade disc as they recommended. Everything went well and on the HD it created a "Previous Systems" folder and everything is in there... (old applications, documents, etc. ... Now what do I do?
Do I just run the applications (iWork, MS Office, Adobe products, etc.) from that "Previous Systems" folder or should I drag and drop them to the new applications folder, or is it better to delete and reinstall all the programs again? And if I have already opened some of the applications from the Previous Systems" folder will this prevent me from moving them.
I just want to clean up my laptop and keep it simple... What is the safe and easy thing to do?

I have an iMac and a Macbook, both with different AIM accounts. Using the same network at home I can chat easily between the two. However, when I bring the macbook to school, which has a different network (which works perfectly and I have never had a problem with and is connected when I open iChat) iChat can't seem to connect with it and it times out. I think it's just a setting or preference I'm not changing. Any help? Thanks.

Awesome, that worked. Thank you. Just a note for anyone else who may be looking for a similar solution: in Edit->Preferences->Javascript ensure the checkmark is there in the "Enable menu items JavaScript Execution privileges" option, or else you will get an internal error, with the debugger telling you security settings prevent access to this property or method.
Edit: In Acrobat X at least. 9 doesn't need it, and I do not have access to XI.

I have an IPOD Nano, and it was installed on my PC, an
IBM 266 Laptop, with Windows XP Pro. Unfortunately a problem has occurred.. I now find on clicking the itunes icon that "itunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes".
I have tried to reinstall from the Control Panel, and have done what I thought was a complete reinstall, but still the same message comes back. I suspect that Quicktime is not properly installed. The only option seems to me to
manually delete every ipod file, until the computer is clear, then reinstall. The only problem is, I don't want to lose the music files that are already on the Nano.
Can anyone advise, please ?

from the computer.
Use Control Panel to remove iTunes.
Restart the computer, then reinstall it.
Thanks Chris for your prompt reply !, but won't removing itunes from my computer also delete the synchronised library, meaning that when I reinstall, and then reconnect the ipod to the computer, it will lead to the files on the ipod being deleted ?

I bought my MacBook 2 months ago and have all original disks but none clearly comes up with IDVD plainly labeled.... My IDVD bounces on the bottom, has the header but will not load up... I want to try and reinstall but didnt want to back up everything and reinstall the entire OS if I dont have to...

CR XI and charts -newb question within

Hi All,
Great website and resource! I'm a CR newbie and need help with charts. I'll be using CR to develop single page summary sheets that contain only charts and cross-tabs. The data is identified by dates that range from 2002 to 2008, and certain charts will show data from certain time range.
Here is a theoretical sample:

If I want a bar chart that plots all the sales from a certain year, how do I go about doing that? formula? groups?

What am I doing wrong with this filter (counter/frequency issue), probably another newb question.

I extracted the part of my VI that applies here. I have a 6602 DAQ board reading a counter for frequency, using a Cherry Corp proximity sensor. Getting a lot of noise and errant ridiculously high readings. Speed of shaft which it's measuring is currently 2400rpm with one pulse per revolution so 40hz.
Trying to use the express filter VI to clean up the signal and ignore anything over, say, 45hz and under 35hz. No matter what setting I choose I continually get the 20020 error, Analysis: The cut-off frequency, fc, must meet: 0 <= fc <= fs/2. I know this relates to sample period somehow, but for the life of me I can't understand what I'm doing wrong.
I used this VI without filtering on bench tests with a hand-drill and got perfect output every time. Now it's on the machine and being erratic. Any help here will ease my stress level significantly, thanks.

I'm not sure about mounting your sensor to your rig, but I can provide a couple ideas about the filtering. Depending on the type of noise, the digital filters on the PCI-6602 could help eliminate the behavior you are seeing. If the noise manifests as a "glitches" or a bouncing signal, you could use another counter with a minimum period to help eliminate the noise. This concept is discussed in greater detail in this KnowledgeBase. I noticed that you are using NI-DAQmx; the practical application of the digital filters on the PCI-6602 in NI-DAQmx is discussed in this KnowledgeBase. A more detailed description of the behavior of these filters is provided in the NI-DAQmx Help (Start>>All Programs>>National Instruments>>NI-DAQ) in the book entitled "Digital Filtering Considerations for TIO-Based Devices".
I also wanted to comment on your original post and explain why you were receiving error -20020. For convenience, I have copied the text of the error code below.

Possible reason(s):
Analysis: The cut-off frequency, fc, must meet: 0 <= fc <= fs/2.
I think you may have misunderstood exactly what the Filter express VI does. The Filter express VI takes a series of values in a waveform and performs filtering on those signals. So, it will look at a waveform made up of X and Y values and apply the defined filter to this waveform. Specifically in your application, the cut-off frequency (fc) is the Upper Cut-Off level that you specified in the Filter express VI; any frequency components of the waveform outside of the range you have defined will be filtered. The fs is the sample rate based on the data that you wire to the Signal input of the Filter express VI. In your VI, this data is coming from the DAQ Assistant. So, fs will be the sample rate of the DAQ Assistant and is associated with the rate at which points are acquired. The sample rate does NOT relate to the bandwidth of the signal, except that the Nyquist theorem tells us that the sample rate must be at least twice the signal bandwidth in order to determine periodicity of the signal. So, in this case, the sample rate of the DAQ Assistant would need to be at least double the high cut-off frequency.
However, you are performing a frequency measurement using a counter. I think this is where the confusion comes in. For the frequency measurement using a counter, the DAQ Assistant returns a decimal value which represents the rate of the pulse train being measured by the counter. It does not return the actual waveform that is being read by the counter. It is this waveform that would be band-pass filtered to eliminate frequency content outside of the filter's bandwidth. Instead of the Filter express VI, I would recommend that you simply discard values that are outside the range you specify. I have modified the code you posted earlier to perform this operation. The image below shows the changes that I made; rather than using the Filter express VI, I simply compare the frequency to the "Low Threshold" and "High Threshold". I use a Case structure to display the value on if it is within the limits. Otherwise, I display a "NaN" value. I have also attached the modified VI to this post.

I have restored my 1st gen out of the box ipad and can still not connect to anything.wi-fi is enabled and strong.i am losing my mind.forgive me this is my first apple product and this startup should have been easy right?what else do I do?Help!

This should be easy! How can I change the background colour of my fields?

Apologies if this has already been posted but nothing has come up via Google nor the Forum search.
I'm sure this should be easy but it's really doing my head in!
I have a number of textboxes, dropdown lists, etc within my form - I have set Custom backgrounds on each which are visible within Design View. However, in Preview PDF all the fields have a default blue colour and only change to my Custom backgrounds when you enter the field.
Is there a way of removing the default colouring of fields so that it's the same as my Custom backgrounds? My Custom backgrounds are 'linear to bottom' so I don't want to just set border.fill.color to one colour.

If you include this Javascript in the docReady event of the root node (default "form1").
app.runtimeHighlight = false;
This will turn off the field highlight. It doesn't prevent the user from turning back on the highlight, but it will mean that your form opens with the highlight off.

I feel the same exact way! I am absolutely livid with how much I have been charged over these past few months. How is it I was informed by my school that Adobe would only charge us $9.97. After I signed up, I dropped the course which required us to have Adobe Cloud. Now I check my bank account and I see I am continuously being charged $32.04 every month. This is abdolutely outrageous! Now I'm calling trying to cancel it and they're telling me I have to pay an extra month. This is mind blowing! Something needs to be done.

Newbie trying to convert this to use numbers from excel

I am fairly new at this and have not worked with numbers at all but the problem I have is that I do not have Excel on all my Mac's and this needs to work with Numbers.
it is a basic copy and paste based on a particular tab in Safari and another in numbers

Is it possible to write a script for Excel Chart Conversion to an ai file?

I tried to record a script and it didn’t work. I will attempt to explain what I am doing (and why) and maybe you guys can tell me if it can be done or not. We are working with Excel charts and we eventually put them into InDesign for a print magazine. Here are the steps as best as I can translate. We are using Illustrator CS6 Version 16.2.0.
1. Copy Chart from Excel
2. Paste into Illustrator
3. Fit Art Board to Graphic
4. Select All
5. Change Kerning to 0
6. Select the Background
7. Select Same Fill Color
8. Change Color to 5% Black
9. Select the grid lines on the Chart
10. Change the Stroke to 50% Black
11. Save as an AI file
There is also a scenario where there are multiple charts and we would like to make multiple art boards in the same file.
I do this for a few reasons: Remove Rich Black, Adjust Kerning, Eliminate any Font Issues, Easier to Scale, and it chokes our rip because there is no link when they are copied and pasted directly from Excel to InDesign.
Any guidance would be appreciated.
