"This song can't be downloaded"

I've purchased an album via the metro app (Win8.1) but the tracks won't download.
Their status is either "This song can't be downloaded" or "PENDING".

My internet connection is very stable. I'm downloading stuff all the time, including songs purchased from the web interface (www.mixrad.io) where I don't experience this issue.
This happened with three albums I purchased (in the other two, at least some of the songs were downloaoded).
I have been charged with all albums as soon as I confirmed the purchase. BTW I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the download itself. For the sake of illustration, if I buy an album and my computer crashes right after confirming the payment I'm quite confident the songs are lost. It is very unfortunate that the songs are not kept in the cloud, as they are in basically all other music services (Google, Amazon, etc.)

I downloaded a song that had the bell next to it. Five minutes later, it's downloaded, and I click the bell icon to make my ringtone. A box popped up that said "this song cannot be made into a ringtone- this song can no longer be made into a ringtone"
What's up with that??? I already had this song in my library. I only downloaded it again so that I could make the ringtone, and now it won't work. Anybody know what to do??

I am having the SAME issue - I just bought a song 2 days ago that clearly had the bell icon next to it. Right after downloading the song I clicked "create ringtone" and received the same error message "this song can no longer be made into a ringtone". SO I called iPhone - they can't help...so I emailed iTunes and I am getting the total run around. I clearly explained this issue to which they have replied with FAQs on ringtones and articles on how to download ringtones, duh. I re-authorized my computer, restarted it, on and on...still nothing. It seems like iTunes support wants to ignore my true problem and just keep running me around in circles.

I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network. For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network. I got this error with my iPad 3, my wife's iPhone 4, but not with my iPhone 4s.

Back up your computer first. After installing, run Software Update to update everything to the newest versions available.
Check your computer's system specifications but you may have the option for a free upgrade/update to OSX 10.9 Mavericks, though you may want to stick with 10.6 for a while. Higher systems usually run slower on older machines and I personally would stay with Snow Leopard until I was forced to change again.

TS3297 error when downloading from iTunes song from store. sail away says file corrupted, yet continues to repeatedly try to download this song. can't remove it or delete it from iTunes, shows up with an exclamation sign.

It says file corrupted yet continues to attempt to download the file. It is stuck in a loop. I can't seem to delete this file either. i've tried several ways, dragging it to trash (it still appears), hitting the delete buttin on my computer.

IPhoto downloads the entire Photo Stream every time it starts. How can I stop this? Can iPhoto only download the photos on Photo Stream that are new only?

iPhoto downloads the Photo Stream. No problem.
I quit the program, turn the computer off.

Yes, the upgrade is the likely cause.
First you should try to deauthorize your computer/iTunes library before attempting to authorize it again. To do this, click the Store drop down menu in iTunes and choose Deauthorize this Computer. Then enter in your iTunes account credentials.
When it has finished, choose Store -> Authorize this Computer and again enter in your Apple ID account credentials.
Finally, try resyncing your Nano to see if that makes a difference.

I just purchased and downloaded a song. I go into store - create a ringtone and I get the message that this song can no longer be made into a ringtone.
Any ideas what this means and how to fix?

When you download songs in iTunes only those with a little bell symbol are able to be made into a ringtone...
Or you can use DRM free media to make your own ringtones in Garage Band
