"This update requires Mac OS X 10.6.7" !? i installed 10.6.8

hello i have a problem when i install new safari it say ; This update requires Mac OS X 10.6.7" but i have 10.6.8 !!! why ?

Don't Uninstall Safari. It rarely does any good, and often just creates more of a mess.
The CT problem is handled this way
Close Safari.
Check here for CT Loader
Locate and delete:
HD/Library/Application Support/Conduit
HD/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
HD/Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
HD/Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
HD/Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
HD/Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
It may not be in every single location, but get it out where ever you find it.
Restart Safari. Any Better?
If it's already uninstalled, try the combo update to get SAfari back.
Or reinstall from your Install Disk.

OK. Now, you say you got this alert through App Store when trying to download Mavericks or after you downloaded it and were trying to install it? Which is the correct case?
The error you are getting may sometimes occur when the computer has already been updated, but I don't know why you would be getting this message. I can only suggest that you take it in for service to find out why this is happening.

  • You cannot install Safari on this volume. This update requires Mac OS X 10.

This is the problem I run into when trying to install Safari 3.1. Have tried several times with fresh downloads. What's worse is that I deleted the version of Safari I had prior to this, so now I have no Safari whatsoever. Anybody out there know how to go around this? I do have the newest version of Leopard.

See my answer to your other post.

  • Why does my Macbook say, "This software requires Mac OS X 10.6 to be installed"

I am so confused. Its not letting me use itunes store, or anything. I cant hook up my phone and put songs on my computer or anything. And everytime I try to update it says system is up to date. ???????? What is going on with my computer? I neeed help!

Your 10.5.8 Leoaprd may be up to date, but your latest gadgets require a new operating system being 10.6 Snow Leopard. This is available on DVD from the online store. Costs approx $20.
    Here is the US example.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Once installed you then can do further free updates.
This depends if your computer can handle the upgrade. These are the requirments.
    Snow Leopard General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel processor
1GB of memory but 2GB is recommended.
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation

  • This version of Mac OS X 10.7 cannot be installed on this computer. Why Not. Mac Mini has the required spec.

    Hi...
I hope that you can help me!!
I am trying to update a recently purchased pre-owned Mac Mini to OSX Lion. ATM it is running OSX 10.6.8, with 2GHz Core 2 duo processor, and 2GB of DDR2 SD RAM. There is 30+ GB of hard drive available. The App Store has acknowledged the fact that I have previously bought OSX Lion, but when I try to download, it displays the following, "This version of Mac OS X 10.7 cannot be installed on this computer." It meets the required specs. Help!! How can I upgrade....

What model is it? There are some early Intel minis around that have had CPU upgrades. They can't run Lion, at least not without hacking.

  • An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

Get this error when trying to install Logic patch 9.1.4 to my machine.
An eligible Logic Pro version was not found in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher.

Thx, but i had already read that and tried it: did not work.
Got it fixed now by reinstalling Logic Studio 9 from DVD.
That indeed creates the Logic Pro folder in Applications - something I had tried earlier by simply moving my existing Logic folder. This means the Logic 9.1.5 update does not simply check a folder name: there must be another entry/registry entry it checks. Reinstalling Logic Studio from scratch solved it for me.
After reinstalling thought Lion forgot my Focusrite Saffire 40, so no DAW. Solved that by reading a forum entry on beta drivers.
So I am happy, music creation wise.
Left for me is to solve the X Mail application saying it does not run under Lion!

When upgrading from osx 10.7.4 to osx mountain lion I get the following Alert!  This update requires OS X version 10.8.

Sounds like you downloaded the 10.8.1 update instead of the Mountain Lion installer from the Mac App Store.
You have to purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store to get to 10.8
