This version of the imaging eninge cannot read this image

I am trying to read an image that I created in April 2009. I used it in August 2009. An now I am receiving the error - This version of the imaging engine cannot read this image.
I have recently upgraded the image engine to v7.0.1.7 and threw out old copies of boot disk, etc. Is my problem that it was written with an older version (no earlier than 6.5)? Or is it something else?

  • When connecting my 120GB iPod Classic I receive the prompt; iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "Name". It asks me to reset it. All my music appears to have been erased  iPod yet 41GB of data is on it. Help!

When connecting my 120GB iPod Classic I receive the prompt; iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "Name". It asks me to reset it. If I do this I will lose the contents of the iPod. The iPod shows no music on it yet 41GB of data is on it under "About" on the iPOD itself. It would appear that the music files are still there. I don't want to reset the iPod as it will mean reloading a significant amount of music i.e. my entire CD collection. Any suggestions? Has my iPod died?

(I'll lose all my music right?)
That is correct. A restore wipes all content from the device, resets all settings back to their defaults, and loads a fresh copy of the iPod's software onto the device.
See this excellent user tip from another forum member turingtest2 outlining the different methods and software available to help you copy content from your iPod back to your PC and into iTunes.

After all the music is safely in iTunes again, go ahead and restore the iPod to factory settings as it says.

  • Can not change size the itunes screen cannot read all opitions

I am trying to sync my photos to my ipad and I cannot get to the photos because my page is not large enough I get Summay thru podcast how can i get the rest

Are you trying to do this through iTunes on your iPad?  If you are, you can't.  You sync photos over to iPad from your computer, with your iPad connected to iTunes.   To answer your question about changing the size of the screen, take your thunb and forefinger and swipe them apart to enlarge the page.  The best way to describe this would be to take your thumb and forefinger and put them on the page with both fingers touching each other and move both fingers at the same time away from each other.

  • "iTunes cannot read the contents of the ipod", How can I fix this?

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with my iPod touch 32GB and getting iTunes to detect it. I'm using Windows 7.
When plugging it in tonight, I got the message "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod (Name). Go to the summary tab in the iPod preferences and click restore to restore this iPod to factory settings". I attemped to do this, but I then got an iTunes error "3184" and was unable to install the iPod software.
    I've tried...
    - Using a different computer
    - Using a different USB cable
    - Rebooting the iPod
Nothing seems to work. I've read a solution as to delete one of the iTunes files on the iPod, but the iPod doesn't show up in my Windows Explorer, so I am unable to do this. The computer does however charge the battery when I have the iPod plugged in. I'm also able to still listen to music on the iPod as well.
One other note, I had the same thing happen to my previous iPod touch. I got my original iPod touch back in December 2010. In October 2011, the iPod just died one day and I was not able to turn it on at all or charge it. When I'd plug it into the computer, I got the exact same errors and was unable to restore the iPod. I sent it in to Apple as it was still under warrenty and they sent me a replacement. Now 3 months later it's happened again. Of course the warrenty starts from the day you purchase the original, so this is no longer under warrenty despite having it for only 3 months. The only difference this time is that the battery still charges and I can still turn it on and listen to music.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

    hi Angie!
hmmm. is there an Apple Store convenient where you can take the ipod for a check-up?

  • Itunes cannot read the contents of the iphone

Problem: iPhone cannot synch with iTunes b/c of the error: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone "iPhone". Go to the summary tab in iPhone preferences and click Restore to restore this iPhone to factory settings". I have reset the iPhone all possible ways, rebooted, uninstalled/installed iTunes, have double clicked to change name, doesn't synch. I need to get my music and photos back on my device, but I cannot seems to do so. After clicking restore, it blows the device away, then I still get the error. Help?

I'm have the same problem... just updated to iOS4 on my 3G. Everything synced fine after a few problems with the backup process. The only data that was not transferred was my music to iPod. When I hooked back up to download the music I received the "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPhone" I have not restored back to the factory settings. Any suggestions... I don't want to lose the data on the phone.

  • "Cannot read the contents"

I plugged my 80 GB iPod into my friend's computer to charge it, but I didn't realize he had iTunes version 4-point-something. When I unplugged it it couldn't find any music or videos that I had on before. Plugging it into my computer I got the error "iTunes cannot read the contents of your iPod" and it suggested that I restore default settings and erase all my data. The strange thing is, when I plug it into my friend's computer with the older iTunes, it can find and play all of my music. The files are all still on there, and they can't be corrupt because they're still working. Now I'm just wondering what I should do. Is there some way I can create a backup of all my files? Not all of them are on my computer, and most of my renaming and album art adding I did directly on my iPod, not on my computer. I'm okay with restoring my ipod, but I don't wand to lose all those files.
If I just go into the ipod hard drive directly and copy all the files over, and then restore the settings and copy it back, will I have any problems?

    simmilar problem
I have music from other peoples computers in my hard drive, ive tried to thread through and delete but some still remains. my i pod had about 200 songs loaded onto it but the other like 1000 wont. the selection seems to be random. with artist c-p. ive tried restoring, with no effect.

    An error has occurred.

    Recovery Error.
Please press [OK] to turn off the computer.
I tried erasing the disk, then running the Recovery Wizard again, but wind up in the same place.

It's hard to know exactly what the problem is. You might want to contact customer support because it could just be a faulty disc.

  • Mounting previous versions of system image VHDs

Two quick questions about mounting VHD image files. I have been using Windows 7 Backup on Win7 Ultimate x64 (RTM) to create weekly system images of several disk partitions (Boot, System, Data). Windows 7 Backup creates a set of Virtual Hard Disk files in .vhd format as its output. These vhd files can then be mounted using the Attach VHD feature of Windows Disk Management, and then their contents can be accessed in Windows Explorer. Windows Backup creates incremental images with the previous versions (changed sectors) being stored in VSS shadow copy storage, and the most recent version of the image in the vhd file.
    1. My first question concerns access to the earlier incremental images in the backup set. If I boot the PC to Windows 7 Recovery Environment, any of the incremental image files are available for restoration. But when mounting (attaching) a VHD file from the backup set via Disk Management, only the latest version of the image is available to mount. Is there any way to mount one of the previous incremental versions?
    2. My second question is about mounting a vhd file as read-only. The vhd file of the Data partition will mount either as read/write or as read-only. But the vhd files of the Boot or System partitions can only be mounted as read/write. If mounted as read-only, these volumes display as Not Initialized and are unreadable. Why?

In case somebody is still looking for an answer to question  1 (like me), I want to share my solution:
    Login as Administrator
Login as user with administrator rights is not sufficient. If the administrator account is disabled, activate it first (cmd: net user Administrator /active)
In Explorer navigate to WindowsImageBackup on your backup drive. Right Click on Properties, Tab previous versions. Select the version you want to access and then click the Open button.
Now Windows Explorer opens the selected version as a network connection („localhost“). Navigate from WindowsImageBackup down to <Your computer name> \ Backup<Date>\ and select the .vhd file in this directory.
You can open the .vhd file with 7zip now.
You cannot open it as a virtual disk like normal .vhd files. I guess you can copy the selected version to another place and mount it as virtual disk, but i didn't test it.
Don’t forget to deactivate the Administrator account after you logged off from Administrator (cmd: net user Administrator /active:no )
This works on Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.

  • How do I save multiple versions of an image from CS5 to LR4?

After using "edit in" to take an image from LR3 to CS5, I would then save the edited image by "save as" then add -1 for an edited version, -2 for b&w, -3 for a funky edit, etc. (i.e. name-1 or name-2 would be typical file names) They would all save to lightroom. However, since I upgraded to LR4, I can't do that anymore or it doesn't save the image in LR. This has thrown my whole workflow out of whack - especially since I want to use the album module and need those versions of the images for the album.
Please help. I'm getting behind on work while I try to figure this out.
    Thanks in advance
    Jeanie

You won't be able to do that until you upgrade to Photoshop CS6 and ACR 7. As it is now, from LR4 to CS5, Lightroom has to do the rendering and that requires that LR4 save out a tiff first them open it into Photoshop. I'm also pretty sure this applies to CS5 even if you are using ACR 6.7.
When ACR 7 in CS6 comes out, Lightroom can use a scrit called Bridge talk to send the image from Lightroom 4 into ACR 7 and then into Photoshop. With this workflow, LR4 doesn't have to save the tiff before sending it to Photoshop CS6. From there you'll be able to do the multiple Save As and have LR4 know where those images are...

  • WARNING: Cannot "Read or Write" files on iPod

My iPod has been behaving very curiosly as of late. For the past month a wanring has flashed up on my iTunes screen when attempting to sync music files. The warning says *"Cannot read the disk 'iPod'. Unable to read or write files"*. Despite this warning my iPod has been able to update daily podcasts without issue. However, when I recently purchased new music I could not get it to sync to my iPod. I have no problem listening to this new album in my iTunes library, but it just will not sync to my iPod. I created a playlist for it and attempted to add it, but I discovered that the iPod was not syncing the playlists either!
In a recent attempt to remedy the problem I selected only to sync the playlist that had the new album. What happened was frightening. All my music was no longer on the iPod, with the exception of my podcasts! I tried altering the settings to return all the music, but now I am unable to add any of my music from the library.
I am wondering if anyone has experienced this difficulty before, and if so, if they have any trouble shooting techniques. I have already been ti Apple's support page and completed the 5 recommended steps, to no avail. Any suggestions or thoughts as to what might be occuring.

Luckily, backing up your itunes library is easy. Just duplicate the folder(s) with your music in it. (Most likely, it's user/Music/ITunes.) Once the copy is made, you might want to move it to a different part of your hard drive.
Now, restoring your ipod WILL wipe the device. If there's anything on your ipod that isn't in your itunes library (unlikely but possible), you want to make sure you've got a copy of it somewhere before restoring.
Before restoring, check to see if there is an update to the ipod's firmware that needs to be installed. This is a "longshot" but might help. Just click the "check for update" button on the ipod's "Summary" pane in itunes. (Current version is 1.2.3, I think).

  • Thumbnails- how do I see the image?

Help- I heard there is a download patch for this, but I don't know which one it is!!
Every time I upload RAW files to my computer the thumbnails are an Adobe icon and not a smaller version of the image (unless I am in Bridge, then they are the image). I would really like to be able to tell what an image is when I go into My Pictures as well.
Isn't there a fix for this!?

I disagree. The parts are there via WIC in XP and Vista for Adobe to take <br />advantage of. They have chosen not to, despite repeated assurances to the <br />contrary.<br /><br /><Ramón_G_Castañ[email protected]> wrote in message <br />news:[email protected]..<br />> Just to clarify, this is a Windows OS issue, not an ACR issue.

  • Different versions of animated image in single swf file

I am making a game which has several objects (beds, crates, tables) that can be placed on a grid.
The objects are created in flash and exported as individual .swf files. Each object can be rotated. To do this I create 4 frames in each .swf and draw a different version of the image in each frame. This allows me to 'rotate' an object in actionscript by simply going to the next frame of the swf movieClip.
This simplifies things a lot for me, as it follows logically that an object will have one image file (swf) for all orientations. However, I've hit a problem in that I would like the object to have an animation. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? or perhaps another technique I could use.

I think It's best to explain with an example. Let's say I have a television that I draw in four different frames with different rotations. The first frame has the television facing in a south west direction. The 2nd frame has a south east facing television and so on. This is what I have at the moment. What I'm wanting to do next is add an animation to the television, e.g. display something moving on the screen.

  • IPhoto cannot read my Kingston 8GB card

I posted an issue under iMac
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17073733#17073733
that probably should have been posted to this iPhoto community. I have a new Kingston 8 GB SD card that formatted fine in my Canon SD-1200 digital camera. The problem is I cannot get the card to mount on my Apple iMac running OS X 10.7.2 with iPhoto 9.2.1. What is weird is I can get my wife's Apple MacBook Pro to mount the card.
My iMac does not not have card slot so I have to use an iConnect USB adaper that works fine on the iMac with a Kingston 2 GB SD card.  I maintain iPhoto on on the iMac so I am dead in the water because I cannot get the iMac to mouth the Kingston 8 GB SD card
I now suspect the iConnect SD Card Reader/Writer may be the weak sister

I agree the weak sister is the iConnect SD Card Reader.  As a test the 8 GB Kingston SD card can be read using the card reader slot on the Mac Book Pro; however, the same MBP cannot read the 8 GB card using the iConnect Reader.
I pulled this data from the MBP's System Information and it looks like the Alcor Micro Corp device is the problem child.  Maybe Santa will put a new reader in my stocking
