Thought it was my Iphone, It's LTE??
I got a new iPhone 4S about a month ago. Two weeks ago, I reset the phone back to the factory setup and it took 18 hours to authenticate. I spent over 2 hours on the phone w/ VZW tech support, they escalated it to a network engineer (I use the term "engineer" loosely) and still nobody could figure it out. It finally just re-authenticated by itself and everything worked fine.
That is, until this week. Tuesday I tried sending a text message and it failed. I tried a few times, no luck. I tried a call and got a msg saying my phone could not be authenticated on the network. I noticed a while later that the number on the top of my contacts list was not my number. After beginning to get text messages for someone else (ends up it was the number showing up on my phone), I finally figured out that somehow, someone else got my number when setting up a new phone at the local VZW store. Don't ask me how that worked, but after doing a *228-1, it began working again. The person who ended up with my number was also getting my text messages but our voice function worked sporadically.
Anyway, I got VZW Tech Support to replace my iPhone with a Droid Razr which I got today. Since the network is down, I can't activate it. Unfortunately, once I tried, now my iPhone no longer works either. So at this point I am stuck with two practically brand new smart phones that do not work.
Ugh.
I am in Lexington, SC, by the way.
The iPhone 4S is a 3G only phone and is not affected by the 4G LTE network. The Motorola DROID Razr would have had trouble authenticating itself with the 4G LTE network if the network was down. The iPhone won't work because it is no longer attached to your line of service.

This helped me. Fix #1 is something Apple doesn't ever suggest to you.
My specific problem was somehow my Apple Mobile Device USB Driver got turned off and moved and maybe even uninstalled, but after hours of struggling, this site helped tremendously.
Furthermore, I could connect my iPhone to my computer but not into iTunes. It would only let me go to access pictures on my iPhone and that's all.

I have a iPhone 5s all of a sudden my music on my iPhone would only ply oit of one speaker in the car. I thought it was the Audio Cable went and brought another Audio Cable and the same thing again. I than plugged my son phone which is a NOTE 3 into the Audio Cable and it started playing fine. I purchase all of my music from the Apple Store and one of the reasons is because I enjoy listening to my phone with my playlist inside my car. Has anyone else experienced this? Apple needs to fix this ASAP or refund me my money back for all the songs I purchased.
If you connect headphones to your 5s do you also hear music on from one side?
If yes get a light and inspect the headphone jack and clean out any dirt/debris/ etc. you find in there.
If that does not fix it you will need to get your iPhone replaceed under your warranty. -

Well, i bought two iphone 5 for me and my wife...she used it for only 2 days and she gave it back to me complaining from the same problem and she went back to her 4S, i thought she was kidding until i used mine,,,oh my god, the battery does not last for more than 6 or 7 hours, even without making any calls. i was so happy with my previous 4S as i used to charge it at night and stay almost 2 days on a stand by before recharge it again. well, im done with apple, have an appointment today in apple store to return mine, and even if they give me 2 new ones, i will not even open them,,,, for sale right away.

Before my text messages would come in and I could have them read to me as I was driving. I can voice text messages as I am driving with Siri but now I do not receive responses. I thought i was resetting my son's iphone 4 so that I could use it. But I seem to have erased his icloud/apple id and all of his data from his new phone too. His Apple ID doesnt work and cant be accessed as it now says it is disabled. I have tried the iforgot.apple.com website without success and have no idea how to rectify. I have requested a password change to his email address but that is not working either.
Please help?That sounds confusing. First off, don't be too worried. There's practically no way to actually delete an Apple ID or it's purchase history. You should be able to get to it back somehow. Secondly, that's likely something that you'll need to talk to a real person on the phone for since it likely requires you to explain that you need access on behalf of your son, (who probably just set some security questions or an email address that you didn't know he put in.) Just call the appropriate AppleCare phone line (800-APL-CARE in the USA, or see the link below for other countries) and tell them you want to talk about an iCloud account security question.

I know of no way to remove encryption on iTunes backups if you've forgotton the password. If you've used the 4 digit PIN code to lock your iPhone in the past that can sometimes default as your "password" for this encryption in iTunes. Try that PIN or any PIN you've used in the past. If you don't use a lock maybe you played around with that feature once when you first got your phone....try "1,2,3,4" or anything you could have possibly tried.
As far as accessing older unencrypted backups you can try this software. I do not have any experience using it but it seems like it's what you need and is probably the easiest route for both voicemail and texts:

I know with AT&T, voicemails are only stored on their servers for 30 days so any voicemail older than that you would not have been able to access again.
