Thousands of untitled folders on my destop that I didn't create

I've seen other references to this but don't know the solution.
It first happened about a month ago. I awoke my MacPro from sleep to find over 5000 untitled folders on my desktop. Here's a screen capture: http://grab.by/bj0d
I work alone so no one in my office could have played a trick. To rule out outsiders, I turned off all sharing. I thought that solved the problem. This morning the same issue reappeared with over 500 folders. Any thoughts???? Thanks!

You have close to 11,000 !! Unread messages in Mail. Are you sure somebody is not spamming you with an absurd amount of email, perhaps with attachments that download to your desktop?

How can I delete a username account that I didn't create?

Ok, so my little sister hacked in my laptop, because she doesn't have one. So she needed it for an "EMERGENCY" and I wasnt picking up my cellphone to tell her my password. So I have been trying to delete the account she made but it won't allow me too. Why is it doing this? please help. every time I goto the sys pref to the accounts the minus sign won't show up. it shows up for all my other user accounts but not for this one. please help me!

i already tried that. and it's not working. the "-" sign wont show up. is there anything else i can do to delete it? an easy way. because i'm not so great at dealing with computers =X

A password protected library that I didn't create appears in my index

I noticed that a "phantom" library appeared in my iTunes index. It is called "stlarson's music" and I cannot delete it or get rid of it in any way I know. If I try to open it or delete it I am being prompted to enter a password. I don't know how it got downloaded on my computer and I don't know how to get rid of it and it scares me a little. I am 100% sure nobody else was using my computer. Any clues? Thanks.

That's a library on someone else's computer that is visible on your network. If you're in a school dorm or business environment that can be quite understandable. If you're on a home network, especially one with wirless support, then it's probably a neighbor.
You can tell your iTunes to stop looking for libraries on on other computers by turning off "Look for Shared Music" in iTunes Preferences -> Sharing tab. You may want to turn off "Share my Music" so they cannot see yours either.
More importantly, there's no real risk in seeing someone else's library or their ability to see yours. Even if it is not password protected, iTunes can only play songs from those blue librarys. You cannot download those songs and they cannot download yours.

I think someone may have created their own folder on my iPod nano and then returned it to the store (even though I purchaed it new). Anytime I try to download music it goes to this other folder which I can't access because it is password protected. My folder is visible but there is no way to redirect the downloads.
Any help on how to remove the existing folder would be greatly appreciated

Why that apple didn't create the passcode for shutdown

just a sugesstion, apple should create the shutdown device passcode, if not once the device lost the person who have it will immediately shut it down, meaning to said even have the mobile me account also useless it cant get the location once device been turning off

They can also place the phone in a metal enclosure to achieve the same result.

Empty Untitled Folders in Aperture

I migrated all of my events from IPhoto to Aperture, and I now have a bunch of empty Untitled Folders that create themselves every time I open Aperture. They are essentially ghost folders because they don't contain anything. I can delete them, but they continue to come back. Any thoughts?

What is your Aperture 3 version?
In Aperture 3,3 these untitled projects (not folders) can be created by the autpmatic import from Photo Stream. I'd disable the automatic import, if you have imported all images that you want and toggle the photo stream off and on the System Preferences "iCloud" panel.

How did you do this? Are you using your iPhoto Library as Aperture library? Then check in iPhoto for hidden photos. Any event with hidden photos will show as empty project in Aperture, and you csnnot unhide the photos in Aperture, only in iPhoto.

I'm not sure if my iPhoto library is being backed up by Time Machine. I am backing up to a LaCie external hard drive. I can open photos that are in folders but not those that are in iPhoto.

Move a folder, sub-folders, and documents under that folder from one document library to another within a Workflow

Hello,
I'm building a workflow in SharePoint Designer 2010 (Unfortunately we are not on 13 yet), and in that workflow I need to move a folder (with all it's sub-folders and items) from one document library to another document library.
I tried a copy item but that kept failing, I checked content type, columns, and permission and it all looks good.
the other option I started looking into is to Create the folder in the document list and them move all the items under that folder to the new folder. However I can't figure out how to loop through each items in that folder.
Has this issue been addressed? or does someone has a solution.
I looked and searched and all I found was tutorials on moving single items into a folder, but not entire folders.

Why to take pain in creating a workflow that copies folders, sub-folders and all of its contents from one document library to another.
Simply open your source and destination document library in Windows Explorer mode and start copying your folder, sub-folders and contents that you want to copy out of the box.
You will find "Open with Explorer" button under the Library tab on the ribbon of document library.

Mysterious Untitled Folders Appearing on Desktop

My finder seems to be creating untitled folders on my desktop without me asking. This started happening right after I installed 10.5.3. I will be working, go to my desktop and see untitled folder 1, untitled folder 2, and so forth. Sometimes it's just one, sometimes I return to my desktop to find 4 or 5. This is very strange and nothing like this has ever really happened to me with the OS. It's not a huge problem, more like an annoyance, but I find it kind of strange. Has anyone has a similar problem?

Folders that I had previously created and put bookmarked sites in have disappeared and Im unable to create new folders for sites I want to bookmark. I've checked the support info and it doesn't say anything about creating new subject folders?

Bookmark folders that I had previously created have disappeared so I can't access any of my bookmarks. The process I used to create new subject bookmarks doesn't seem to be there anymore. The apple support doesnt mention creating new bookmark folders or what to do if you lose your bookmark folders.

As you just upgarded to Windows 7, please make sure SP1 is also installed on all systems and install the following hotfix rollup for Windows 7 SP1:

There was a known issue on Windows 7 which affected shared folders, that newly created or deleted files are not reflect in network folder immediately, which seems similar to your error. If issue still exists after SP1 and hotfix rollup please help confirm:
1. If this issue occurs only on DFS folder in accessing with \\domain.com\namespace. Could you reproduce the same issue in accessing \\server\sharefolder?
2. Will the same issue occurs after disabling Offline Files if it is enabled.

A lot of I should haves. I had too many photos and while at work I opened up the 4 folders inside of the DCIM folder on my phone. I didn't think it would be a big deal to just cut the photos and paste on my computer as I have done this before. i moved one folder that had 803 pictures in it and all was fine. I ran out of time and unplugged phone and went home. When I got to work this morning I was looking at my phone and realized I only had 34 pictures. I knew there should have been 400+ there and they are gone. Don't know what happened and if they were deleted off phone or computer I cannot see them anywhere. I didn't back up (I know mistake) Lessoned learned I just hope there is something i can do!

With the iTunes runtime error, the only solution seems to be to uninstall iTunes. If I can't open iTunes as it currently the case because of this issue, therefore I can't backup. You don't need iTunes to be working to backup the library. You do need iTunes to be working to backup or restore your device...

I have files that may have been created in various versions of Illustrator. We need to be able to open them, but all we have is CS6 suite. I have called and been told that "technicians at adobe" could perform a paid service to find out what the files were created in and get them to be useable in InDesign 6, but I'd need an email address that was registered to our software to give the help desk person. After finding the correct email address, different adobe help number people told me to come here to ask as there is no phone support. Can anyone get me to an adobe technician that can provide a price quote for finding out what created these files and for getting them converted? Thanks.

Sorry, I understood you to say you had the whole CS6 suite, which includes Illustrator.
As far as finding out what the files are, sometimes you can look at them in a text editor to figure this out. See below; the, Creator Tool line. Not every software package makes it this easy, though.
