Thread disappeared?

I'm all confused. I posted a thread in the MacBookPro Forum. The next day, I got an e-mail notification that there have been new responses to my post. I clicked the link and was told I did not have permission to view my thread!!!
I clicked the link in my notification e-mail to view the Forum. I couldn't find my thread listed there.
I logged in and tried the above again. Still couldn't find it.
I clicked "My Posts" and didn't see my post there.
I tried to find it using search terms. Still no dice.
Was there an Apple Discussions server glitch? If so, who do I contact???
Was my post in violation of something and deleted? If so, I wish someone would have told me. Who can I speak to about this and find out why my posts disappeared? I can't avoid making the same mistake if no one tells me what the mistake was!

Entire iMessage Thread Disappeared

I am using a 4s with iOS6 and yesterday I had an entire iMessage thread disappear. I was in the middle of a text conversation with a friend with a year's worth of message thread and as I hit send on a message, I watched all of our previous messages vanish. There was no Load More Messages button at the top anymore. Our conversation continued and I didn't have any problems sending or receiving messages after. I've had no other text threads affected either, just this one. I've restarted the phone and done a soft reset several times to no avail. How can I get the previous messages back? Also, I am hesitant to backup from restore since I will lose all the new stuff on my phone since my last backup.
Please help!

If you have a recent backup in iTunes or iCloud, you can resolve the missing conversation issue on your iPhone 6 by restoring device as described in this article:

JMS Threads disappear from JNI application

My application is a combination of C++/FORTRAN/Java which runs on Solaris 5.9. Messages come into the application via a JMS topic (Sonic implementation). I use JNI (JNI_VERSION_1_2) to embed the JVM. I'm able to process incoming messages for a period of time - but then it appears that the JMS threads just 'go away'. I've tried increasing the stack/heap size of the JVM -but the threads still dissappear. Sometimes the threads go away within minutes. Other times it takes hours. I also have been unable to make a correlation between the speed of the messages going into the application and the speed with which the threads dissappear.
When I enable JNI verbose messages, I see the following messages right before the JMS threads go away:

Texts in threads disappear after a week

I just upgraded a few weeks ago to Iphone 5 so forgive if this has been answered 100 times. What happened to the load earlier messages option? All of my texts in every thread dissapear after a week. I dont keep all threads but sometimes I need to. Its happening in both imessage and text. I dont see anything in settings that allows me to lengthen that time period. Thanks

Quit Mail.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. If you get a warning that the file is in use when you try to empty the Trash, log out and log back in.

Grouping Causes Text Threads to Disappear; Photo commentary with captions

Is there a way to group picutres inside my text frames without making text threads disappear? As soon as I select my text, photos, and jump text, the text threads disappear.
Also, is there a formal way of adding text commentary to a photo? I'd like to use the term "captions" but I know that captions mean a different thing in InDesign.

HT201287 Once a day my messages stops working, I cannot send or receive messages and all of my messages disappear. I have to restart my iPhone 6 for it to start working again. This doesn't happen on my iPad Air. Is this happening to anyone else?

messages app continues to crash. All messaging stops working and all of my message threads disappear. the only thing that has seemed to work is restarting my phone. Happens at least once a day.

I'm sorry to hear you are having such extensive issues with Messages on your iPhone. If you continue having issues sending or receiving Messages, you may find the troubleshooting steps outlined in the following article helpful:

If you continue to have issues with Messages after that troubleshooting, especially if it is still having or crashing, you may want to make sure you have a current backup of your data in iTunes, then try restoring your iPhone to factory settings and testing it in that default condition to see if the issues persist before restoring your data. Latest iPhone 5/iOS 6 bug: iMessages Disappearing

Really, could the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 be ANY BUGGIER? Perhaps what I'm reading about quality control at apple on the decline are true?
Today's issue: iMessages seem to be disappearing. I sent an iMessage, and just like that, the whole thread of texts are gone. I reboot the phone and nothing. The whole exchange is gone.
Anyone else experiencing this? NOT happy.

I just experienced this same problem on iOS6 but with the 4s. I was in mid text conversation with a friend that has a year's worth of text exchange and as I hit send, I saw the entire thread disappear. It now starts with that message I had just sent. I've restarted the phone and done soft restores several times to no avail. This happened yesterday and the imessage still hasn't come back yet. I NEED THAT THREAD BACK. Apple, please fix this asap.

How are Apple Support Communities threads monitored?

While most threads seem to be about solving problems, or discussions on using products etc, I recently say two threads disappear, probably because the original posters were ranting, being overtly critical of Apple, and insulting other community members without reason. The threads really had no value at all.
Do Apple employees actively monitor these threads? Or is it only after someone reports an abuse, or as you level up do you get special priveledges to boot people. XD

It's a combination of both. Upper level users can report abuse on any observed topic or poster in a topic. There are also moderators who monitor the forums. They are Apple employees.

Problem with messages and calls,, please respond

Problem with my iphone is that the messages are sent and received very late, it hangs while sending, when delete a message it takes time to open messages firstly... messages in the thread disappear and such abnormalities.
and in Calls, i receive notification when the call is missed.

I am not mad at all and I am certainly not trying to start an argument.
I was simply just pointing out that this is the same for all tech companies and not just Apple.
Maybe it is simply that your exposure is only with Apple. I work in IT and spend my day managing a Windows network and the same refresh cycles exist. If you stand still, tech passes you by. I still have old machines on the network that serve their purpose and as long a s they do, it is irrelevant to me if they are supported or not.
I love my old G5 but it's now collecting dust because it still runs but it's "outdated".
Being "outdated" certainly does not make it useless. If it does not do what you need it to do then that is a different story. Hardware improves, software takes advantage of it and eventually old technologies become insufficient to run newer software. You certainly have the option to run the older software on the older machine but if you want the new bells & whistles it requires improved hardware. It is a matter of expectation.

Nothing (except the 500 error itself) is logged to any of the log-files in j2ee/home/log.
I am able to run all of the samples that comes with oc4j.
oc4j is invoked using:
java -Xmx128m -Dorg.omg.CORBA.ORBClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -Dorg.omg.COR
BA.ORBSingletonClass=com.inprise.vbroker.orb.ORB -jar oc4j.jar &
as specified in tutorial instructions.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this?

The guys over in the J2EE forum came with this answer. Please note that they refer to Jdeveloper 9.0.3.
I don't really know how to interpret that, as the RC2 Jdeveloper is 9.0.2.7.86, but anyway, her goes:

This is a known issue. 903 Jdeveloper is bundled with J2EE ORB (IIOP.jar) from Sun to allow EJBs communicate using RMI/IIOP. In addition, we also have Visibroker ORB (VBJORB.jar) in the classpath. Sun has implemented CORBA 2.3.1 specification and Visibroker I believe has implemented CORBA 2.3.0 spec. The signature of one of the methods in class org.omg.PortableServer.AdapterActivatorPOA has changed between the two releases and hence the problem.
We are trying to move away from Visibroker ORB and have requested OLAPI team to remove all dependencies on Visi ORB. Although there is no known dependencies on it, there seems to be dependencies because the idl compiler (from Visibroker) is inserting referces to Visibroker code.
To work around :
Remove/rename iiop.jar file in ORACLE_HOME/J2EE/HOME directory. Be warned that EJB's wont work if it is renamed or removed.
This should only be considered as a temporary work around until we decide our next steps.

IPhone 5 won't delete messages

I have an iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2)
Recently I've been trying to delete iMessage threads because they contain a year to a couple months worth of text messages. Initially the thread disappears, but I think it causes the Messaging app to crash because when I open it I see an empty inbox, and I don't receive messages people send. I tried restarting my phone and everything goes back to normal. All my threads appear in my messages including the ones I tried deleting and i receive messages people sent previously only after I restart my phone. This has been happening every time I try to delete text threads and I'm not sure how to make it stop happening

Since this is not normal behavior, and you have already tried resetting / restarting the iPhone, at this point I would suggest doing a restore of the iPhone. See the directions in this article -

Oh well.. This is one of Sun's failings. Off topic threads are not always bad, especially if clearly marked (or,, even better, placed in their own place (ie. "The Water Cooler" )
It is nice to vent once in awhile.
Since yesterday, it is obvious that the "do my work for me" crowd still has the upper hand here... but maybe it's a fight worth fighting if you reach just one "borderline" newbie coder, eh?

An Unknown Error Occured (Lightroom 4)

I have just upgraded my PC from Windows XP to Windows 7 and from Lightroom 2 to Lightroom 4 (purchased in the past week - not the beta version). I was having one or two issues with LR2 and was looking forward to better performance with my shiny new system, running on a quad core processor and effective 4 gig of RAM.
Straight from the off when editing images in the 'Develop' module, the responsiveness seemed slower than before when applying presets, zooming in and out and using the adjustment brush. Surely a system of this spec should run Lightroom no problem (I am editing Canon 5D MkII RAWs sized around 35Mb)?
And more worryingly, a couple of times LR4 just refused to apply a preset and was hanging. And then when just flicking through and applying presets I've had the dreaded and disconcertingly vague 'An Unknown Error Occured' twice in the space of an hour.
Please help!!!

John, I'm sorry your thread got missing. This is a user-to-user forum, not an Adobe Support channel. While Adobe Employees do drop in here now and again, most of us are users like yourself, freely volunteering our time to help others. Once a thread disappears down the listing, it's not likely to be seen again, so please feel free to post again to see if someone can help.
There were some performance issues in 4.0, which unfortunately were not picked up before release, but Adobe pulled out all the stops to make a fix available as soon as possible, with the first release candidate available about 3 weeks after the initial release.
Reading the forums now, you'd get the idea that everyone's still suffering from performance issues, but then, most people don't flood to the forums to post how well things are working. Unfortunately a small percentage of users are still affected by performance issues, and work continues to figure out what's different about their machines.
Sharon, you didn't mention your system specs? Perhaps there's something we can help you tweak to improve things?
We'd all love our software to run quicker without ever having to upgrade our computers. Unfortunately technology doesn't work like that. We feed our computers ever larger files, and expect them to do increasingly complex calculations, but that does come at a cost - either in time or in upgraded systems.
PV2012 will be slightly slower because technology has advanced - it's doing much more complex calculations than earlier Lightroom versions, which does take additional processing power. The older calculations are still there, listed as PV2010, and if the performance is causing problems, using those older sliders is another option you could consider. There are other things you can do to help, particularly on mid-spec computers, such as minimizing use of the most processor-intensive tools (i.e. lens corrections, spot removal, etc.)
Adobe will continue to work at finetuning the PV2012 performance, as well as trying to fix the mystery performance issues that some are seeing.
