Threads exceeded alert with FME?

Hi,
We have FME installed on a server running Win 2003 with an Osprey 530 capture card.  We are encoding a live stream to our CDN.
The encoder was running ok for a few days and then it crashed.  A command window appeared with the following error:
OMP abort: currently configured to support a maximum of 32 threads.  Please specify a larger value via the KMP_ALL_THREADS environment variable to raise the limit.
I added the KMP_ALL_THREADS variable and set it to 128 (this is an Intel specific environment variable). The encoder worked for another week and then crashed again.  This time a windows dialog appeared with the following error:
Limit of 198 threads exceeded
I have restarted the encoder and it's working but probably not for long.
Can anyone confirm that this error is generated by FME?  There are no other obvious processes running on the server, and no other applications.  If so, can anyone suggest a fix?  I thought of raising the thread limit further but this is not a long term solution.

Some more info on the problem.
We are using an Osprey 530 capture card with the latest drivers.  Server is Win2k / HP dual core with 4gb RAM.
The errors seem to occur at random intervals.  We got the Session Stopped / Session Started in our logs once after 63 hours and once after 17 hours.
A few things I've noticed:
I started the encoder again on Tuesday at 16.25.  On Wednesday at 06:46 the logs reported the Primary connection was disconnected.  Instead of the Session Stopped / Session Started message we get 'Re-establishing connection' (which was successful):

On Thursday at 06:22 the Backup connection was disconnected and reconnected after 22 attempts.  Is this a different kind of problem, perhaps with our CDN?
I've noticed the SetNumberOfStreams(1) error all over our logs but I'm guessing this isn't important.
When I originally set up the encoder it took a few attempts to get it to 'see' the Osprey card properly.  At one point it refused to recognise that the card had audio.  Without really changing anything it started working - I think I reselected the same values in a few drop-downs and rebooted. 
It's been encoding for a few days but I'm not satisfied I've got to the bottom of this.  Any ideas?

I started with an alert with an email in calendar using the clients email address as a custom entry in my me card in my contacts. this was resulting in three emails being sent with slightly different versions of the same address (see my previous post). Heating someone else's suggestion I created a workflow file to send an email and calling that file from an alert on my calendar. This is working and sends only one email to the client.
    My calendar is on I cloud and I access it from three different computers so I can keep my appointment calendar current. The files that send the email only exist on one computer. My other computers show error messages when those emails get sent. It seems that each computer wants to send the email. It's a small problem but is there a way that I could not get those alerts.
    But appreciate any thoughts about this. It seems like both problems might be related to the iCloud system.

    Good work, catch so far Michael, does seem to be a "feature" of iCloud syncing, not sure what you could do to disable it.

    Thanks for the response. There is no cloud icon next to them. All of the songs play on the phone still and no song was purchased through iTunes. I added them manually and tried to remove them manually. According to my iTunes they've been removed but they are still on my phone and working.

    Login into XI Developement and give SE37 Transaction. Then you give SXMS_ALERT_ERROR_RECEIVE and click 'display'.
    Then you check for the methods CL_XI_ALERT HAS_ACTIVE_RULE, CL_XI_ALERT_UTIL GET_MDT_URL, CL_XI_ALERT CREATE_ALERT and make the changes according to service notes. If you dont find this methods in this function then you can try in SXMS_ALERT_ERROR_SEND.

  • Using alerts with variables-"dynamic text" not working

    I'm triggering an alert from a BPM, and have set the flag "dynamic text" on for the alert category associated with it. I'm doing it in a similar way to the blog 1382 by Michal:

    The only difference is that I'm just assigning a fixed text instead of a payload element to the container element, which I've defined as simple type - string.
    However, the text of the alert doesn't show anything. I'm getting an email with just "Process <id>" as the subject and "Alert ID: <number>" in the body of the email (the same in the Alert Inbox).
    I'm starting to think that there could be something wrong in PI 7.1 which I'm using, as I've configured other alerts in scenarios without BPM without problem.

    I've solved it using an alert from the Enterprise Services Builder (Integration Repository). It's a new feature in PI 7.1. It seems the tab "Container" in the alert category didn't exist before (that's why you don't find it in the weblogs of Michal and others) and now you have to use it.

    Why is it the first think everyone wants to do in JSP is write a chat application?
    Not really an easy way to do this, as HTTP is a "pull" model. You send a request, the server sends a response. The server can't send anything unless you ask for it. That kindof puts a damper on things like instant messaging.
    A couple of workarounds
    1 - refresh the page every once in a while to check for new messages. An easy solution but nowhere near optimal.
    2 - check out pushlets www.pushlets.com

    I just finished the tutorial, "Triggering ALM Alerts with Event Linkage" step by step. It trigers an alert by business object bus2012. With the setting of event linkage, it works fine to post alert when POs are changed.
    However, it generates duplicate workitems at Alert Inbox.
    Could you provides any suggestions to solve it out?

    Are you using a triggering event to start the workflow? Please check the event trace to see if 2 events are bing raised. If so then please check if you or someone else have maintained and entry in SWEC (Change documents) to raise this event also. This may be the reason for 2 events.

  • Thread Safety Issue with DOM

    I am parsing an XML into a DOM object using the Xerces parser that is packaged with JDK 1.5.
    First, I create a new instance of the DocumentBuilderFactory and then using the factory, create a new DocumentBuilder. I then parse the XML using the DocumentBuilder to obtain a DOM object.
    Somehow, I am seeing the same DOM object being used for different XMLs.
    Is there a thread safety issue with the Xerces parser?

    certainly, Xerces parser is not thread safe. You have to provide thread safety by making sure that only one thread is allowed to access DocumentBuilder object.

    my question is: is it somehow possible to have the alerting also with EMail Scenario and Content Master? i am on SP 14 and in my alert rule there is no restriction. But when i make a restriction on adapter, the mail adapter is not available.

    I have been trying to configure alerts using NO RESTRICTION. When i try to trigger my alerts using the report RSALERTEST, message is sent to my alert inbox.
    But, when any error occurs on my Integration Engine or Adapter Engine, the alert is not triggered.I am on SP14.
    Is there any additional configuration that needs to be done for the same?? Are you able to get ALERTS in your inbox whenever anything fails in your Integration Engine or Adapter Engine.
    It would be very helpful if you could answer this query.

    now i am getting alerts from Event Linkage.
    Here i take the scenario Sales order change.
    BOR object : BUS2032
    Event          : Changed
    Receiver type : <my alert>
    Receiver call  : Function Module
    Receiver Functiona Module : SALRT_CREATE_VIA_EVENT
    Linkage is activated.
    when a sales order is changed receiver function module triggering the alert which is defined in Receiver type. That i am getting in my alert inbox. Upto this.. it is cleared.
    Now the scenario is.. about Alert Container
    in alert container i take element is BOR Object type BUS2032.
    the questions are..
    1. Is it correct to defined BOR object here to get data when Sales order has been changed.
    2. What are the properties i have to take in Properties tab?
    3. How to use alert container parameters in short and long text?
    Here my clear intention is when a sales order is changed.. i have to get the data related to that sales order and it has to show in Alert.

    i checked the log files but the load was too few on the day.
